It's Happened

I have always been that mythical fibro sufferer who was able to work out, have a successful full time carrer, and maintain hobbies.

Well now I have to admit that I am not holding it together. Both my flares and my everyday pain has gotten worse. My brain fog is almost insurmountable. Even with sleep meds sleep is not restful. They found arthritis in my hip and they realized I have scoliosis in my back. I can't think straight about anything other than how tired I am and how much I hurt.

I can not make my brain focus enough to perform at my job to the level I used to or to the standard that is expected. I am likely going to get fired. My boss told me to give her till Monday to decide.

My relationship with my husband is rocky. We are both in negative headspaces and its led to us butting heads. We havent been able to make it a week without fighting.

I am too exhausted to force myself to go to my circus classes or work out at all. I know it will make me feel better but I am too tired and week to complete the basic tasks.

I have lost my appetite and struggle to get down enough food to maintain the minimum calories my body takes to function.

My small support network and friend group has started in fighting and I cant talk to them.

We have my stepdaughter for the rest of the summer and I hate for her to see me like this. Worn down and crying, my body and posture showing obvious signs of defeat. Her watching my husband have to bring me things in bed cause I can't move. This isnt the role model I want to be. I should be taking care of and supporting her not the other way around.

I've failed at my job, I am failing at my marriage, I am failing as a parent, and im failing at my social life and hobbies.

Ive become the person that i have heard my family and friends talk shit about. Those people who dont leave the bed and dont seem to make an effort. They will say those things about me now.

All of this pain and suffering and failure because I have shitty genes, and there is nothing I can do to fix it. My body is deterioration around me and the weight of the rubble is killing my soul.

It is not fair. I want my brain back. I want to be able to be smart and think and thrive. I just want to be me again.
