I'm tired of seeing antisemitism on my dash, in all its subtle forms. War is an atrocity, and Israel is not unique in that. Where is the outrage against Russia's ongoing genocide of Ukrainians? What about China's genocide of Uyghurs? What of all the other atrocities being committed around the world? Why is there *so much attention* devoted to hating Israel and seeking, not an end to the conflict, but the end of Israel? Is it just that they're a little country, an easy target to potentially dismantle, compared to the big fish of Russia and China?

Keep calling out the atrocities, by all means, but for the love of humanity maybe broaden your targets and reduce your own genocidal wishes?

Any ideology that says: "They did horrible things so 'they' [the group they belong to] all deserve to die horribly" is an evil one.

reading good fantasy can be so fun and life-affirming but read one (1) fantasy novel with bad world-building and it’s like injecting itchy caterpillars under your skin

#i'm currently reading one random fantasy book from my library's LIbby #and the sheer laziness of the worldbuilding is making me howl #like it's set in a fantasy kingdom based on ancient china #but it's so damn lazy about it #it's like the author just wanted to set something IN ancient china except with slightly more gender equality #but couldn't be arsed to come up with even a single interesting twist #like ok i'm familiar with wuxia and the genre where you play fast and loose with history #but so many of the worldbuillding details are ripped straight from contemporary chiense headlines #its like if i wrote a version of alternate medieval england #where the greatest threat is razor blades hidden in halloween candy #like cmooooooonnnnnnnnn try harder #this isn't the xiran jay zhao books though i have to be clear #it's another series #and i'm coming off fresh from Six of Crows which is very good and very competant worldbuilding so the comparison is not flattering....

India, China hold fresh round of military talks

India and China agreed to maintain "peace and tranquillity" on the ground in border areas along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh during a fresh round of high-level military talks earlier this week.

However, there was no clear forward movement at Monday's talks in resolution of the more than three-and-half-year lingering row in a number of friction points, people familiar with the matter said.

The 21st round of the India-China corps commander level meeting was held at the Chushul-Moldo border meeting point on February 19, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.

"The discussions built on the previous rounds, seeking complete disengagement in the remaining areas along the LAC in Eastern Ladakh as an essential basis for restoration of peace and tranquillity in the India-China border areas," it said in a statement.

The MEA said the two sides shared their perspectives on the matter in the talks held in a friendly and cordial atmosphere.

"The two sides have agreed to maintain communication on the way ahead through the relevant military and diplomatic mechanisms," it said.

"They also committed to maintain peace and tranquillity on the ground in the border areas in the interim," the MEA added.
