Okay, okay so all the other kiss prompt fills have been soft and fluffy and cute. This one gave me angst vibes. I hope thats okay 💕
Come Home Again
Rated G
Prompt: sharing a kiss after not seeing eachother for an extended period of time
750 words
The room was dark when Tony opened his eyes, a dull depthless darkness that was a far cry different from the mystical and star spotted blackness he'd been surrounded by in space.
Right… he was back.
Thinking was normally an easy task for Tony, but recalling the events that led him here was difficult and physically taxing. He remembered landing, remembered clinging to Nebula and limping down the ramp, remembered—
“Steve?” The word was horse and croaking as it left his lips. Steve's hands on his arm and shoulder, too tight and almost painful on his depleted worn out body, the solid heat at his side as Steve had helped him inside—that he remembered, but in a too good to be true dreamy way he wasn't sure he should believe.
“Tony?"
The sound of his name was startling, and Tony flinched harshly before sluggishly turning his head to find Steve sitting off to the side of his bed. His face was shadowed, the plains and angles of it illuminated gently by the subtle glow of the nano tech arc. Why did Steve have it?
“I'm sorry for pushing you like that,” Steve's words were hollow, his eyes downcast to the reactor.
Oh.
Tony closed his eyes against the returning memory. Steve’s questions, his own lunatic ramblings as he fell apart. They had ended on fighting so long ago and wound up the same way this time around. The cold of Siberia seemed better than the chemical fresh chill of the medical bay. He had been left alone and cold and broken hearted back then, but at least his spirit had still been intact. It felt like now he'd lost even that.
“It's fine,” Tony mumbled back softly, opening his eyes to find Steve now looking at him. The reactor's light was obscured by Steve's large palm curling around it, the duller lighting making his face look dark and sad.
“It was selfish,” the other man countered. “I shouldn't have—”
“No. No, no, nonono,” the word tumbled out of Tony in a weak and droning mantra, forcing Steve into silence. Tony went quiet too. Breathing and collecting his thoughts, chasing them like scared animals hiding in the fog of his brain. So much had happened, so much had gone wrong. He didn't want this with Steve. Couldn't handle it—not now. Later, later, there would be time for talking and healing and explanations. All the things they had destroyed and that had been lost between them—it wouldn't, couldn't be forgotten but right now, none of it mattered.
“I don't want to argue. I don't want to fight. I'm done fighting. We lost. We lost so much,” the words were fucking bitter—sharp and painful in his too tight dry throat.
“Tony,” Steve stood and moved to the edge of the bed, placing the reactor on the sheets. Its calming blue a bright contrast to the bland white of them.
“I don't care right now about all of our fuck ups—not yours, not mine. Steve, I just wanna come home.” Tony didn't realize the words had brought him to tears until Steve's palm settled over his cheek. Cupping gently like so many times in the past. Tony turned his face into the contact. “I wanna go home,” softer this time, the words spoken into the battle calloused skin of Steve's palm.
“You are home, honey,” Steve said, sitting on the edge of the bed. “You’re home.”
When Steve leaned down over him, the moment felt too long and drawn out. The few seconds it took for Steve's lips to meet his a back breaking straw on top of all the time they had been apart—all the touches they had robbed themselves of.
Tony pressed back simply, not having the energy for more than the firm contact of a couple grounding pecks. Steve lingered, like he always did. His soft mouth brushed tenderly along Tony's jaw, and he felt his stubble catch against the supple softness of the other man's lips.
“You're home now. Get some rest,” Steve whispered into his cheek.
Tony closed his eyes again, barely registering the dip and shift in the bed, already fading back into exhausted sleep. It was only when he heard the steady thump under his ear that he realized Steve had laid down with him; had shifted them so Tony was curled atop him, head pillowed on Steve's powerful chest.
He was home. It was a broken home—cracked picture frames, and unmade beds, and cobweb filled closets—but the foundation was still there. Strong and sturdy, and everything he needed.

So Dreamfyre died crushed by the stones of the dragonpit but I am supposed to believe that Meleys was able to burst through the floor like nothing? One more reason why that scene made exactly 0 sense lmfao
oh yeah definitely! many book fans said that one of the reasons that scene sucked was because of the storming of the dragon pit later. and that it was built especially to keep dragons in.
and you're telling me sunfyre, dreamfyre and vaghar were just chilling while meleys was this close to burning each of their riders? p r o p a g a n d a, l i e s, s l a n d e r
i don't care for explications, we were robbed in the worst of ways. they could have either cut the meleys scene and actully give us aegon and helaena riding above KL after the coronation OR they could have at least had their dragons react in some way
that scene was BS

Snap! - "The Power" 1990 Eurodance / Eurohouse / House / Hip Hop / Hip-House
OK, folks, strap in, because we're about to dive *deep* into a *very* convoluted history behind this legendary Eurodance-hip-house classic that most people, I'm willing to bet, are actually completely unaware of. German dance group Snap!'s momentous debut single, "The Power," may have set the world aflame in 1990, but the version that you're probably most familiar with isn't actually the initial iteration of this spacious jam 😯.
The first ever version of "The Power" was released in 1989 in Europe, on Logic Records, the Frankfurt-based label that was founded and owned by Snap!'s own two producers, Michael Münzing and Luca Anzilotti. And the biggest difference between this rendition and the one that you've likely come to know and hopefully love over the past three-plus decades is that every single lyric on the original was actually sampled, including the rapping.
Those lines happen to come courtesy of an a cappella version of rapper Chill Rob G's song, "Let the Words Flow," which appeared on the B-side of his 1989 12-inch, The Court Is Now In Session. And the bits of addled sax that were used in "The Power" were also lifted from the full version of that song too, which appears on that same 12-inch, as well as Chill Rob G's overlooked, classic-in-hindsight 1989 LP, Ride the Rhythm. But Snap! never asked permission from either Rob himself or his label, Wild Pitch Records, to use any of his music.
But Wild Pitch doesn't actually seem to have really minded the unauthorized use of their songs. Owner Stu Fine even wanted to release "The Power" Stateside, and seeing how successfully it had managed to perform in both Germany and the UK, Chill Rob G thought it'd be beneficial to his own career too. So, on March 5, 1990, Wild Pitch released "The Power," which seems to have been the same exact version as the previous one, but rather than being credited to Snap!, the artist was listed as Power Jam featuring Chill Rob G instead; and somewhat inexplicably, although hip hop legend Mark the 45 King had produced every song on Ride the Rhythm, the production credit for this release of "The Power" was given to him too 🤷‍♂️.
But a much bigger label than Wild Pitch, Arista Records, also wanted in on some of this action as well. And for legal reasons that I'm not really able to fully comprehend, they were barred from releasing the same exact song on their own label in the US, so they decided to just have it re-recorded instead. And this is where the version of "The Power" that you're most familiar with comes from. The sampled Chill Rob G verses were replaced with the intimidatingly deep, clogged-sinus bellows of frontman-rapper Turbo B, and other brand new additional vocal wrinkles, like the "he will break my heart, he will break my heart of hearts" portions, which were inspired by Chaka Khan's 1978 song, "Some Love," were supplied by singer Penny Ford. But not all of Chill Rob G's lines were erased from this new version either; the famous refrain of "it's gettin' kinda hectic" managed to stay, even though it would be mouthed by Turbo B in the music video.
However, the funniest part of all of this is that Turbo B, who wasn't even in Snap! when they first released "The Power" in 1989, still warns everyone in one of his verses that they better not try to steal *his* words—which is exactly what Snap! did to Chill Rob G—or there will be some serious hell to pay! 😂
Copy-written lyrics, so they can't be stolen If they are, "Snap!", don't need the police To try to save them, your voice will cease So peace, stay off my back Or I will attack, and you don't want that
So, while Wild Pitch and Chill Rob G tried to capitalize on "The Power" with their own US release of it, just a few weeks later, Arista would drop their own re-recorded version of it in the States too, and then that one would fully succeed as the most popular version in the world.
Now, something else that you may have never realized about this song is that, although in the music video Penny Ford appears to be the one who's singing the song's most iconic line, "I've got the power," those are not actually her vocals. From jump, that line was sampled, and it belongs to an a cappella version of Jocelyn Brown's terrific mid-80s post-disco tune, "Love's Gonna Get You," which Snap! also wasn't first authorized to use either. And to go just a little bit off-topic here with another fun fact: another super popular early 90s dance classic, Bizarre Inc's "I'm Gonna Get You," also uses lines from that same song too; "Why waste your time? You know you're gonna be mine" and "I'm gonna get you, baby, I'm gonna get you, yes I am!" originate from that very same track. But rather than sampling the song, Bizarre Inc just had those lines re-sung by soul vocalist Angie Brown instead.
Anyway, to add more to this already pretty tangled web here, Chill Rob G also shot his own video for "The Power" too, which, again, was just the same song that Snap! had originally released in 1989 and then Wild Pitch had released as their own. So, absurdly, you get to see Rob rap the *same exact* small verse two times in a row, because those are some of the only lines that Snap! actually sampled from his own "Let the Words Flow" 😅. And that video also uses a different woman to mouth Jocelyn Brown's "I've got the power" line too!
youtube
And in addition to that, all future re-pressings of Rob's Ride the Rhythm *also* included "The Power" as well, starting in 1990. But *that* version was also *different* from every other version that had been released prior too! And *this* version replaced the Jocelyn Brown sample with vocals by someone named Kim Davis, who sounded *nothing* like Brown. And other than some additional lyrics from Davis, the song was almost the same as Snap!'s original version, but not quite, so an additional production credit was given to someone named Nephie Centeno too.
Tumblr media
Now, to go back to literally any of the versions of this song that have been released, they are all anchored by another classic sample that Snap! also didn't receive permission to use at first: Mantronix's brilliant piece of 1988 hip hop-breaks, "King of the Beats," which gives "The Power" all of its great and constantly ring-jing-jinging bells. But Mantronix actually sampled those bells from something else, a 1975 song by smooth jazz keyboardist Bob James called "Take Me to the Mardi Gras," which is an instrumental cover of a song from 1973 of the same name that was originally released by Paul Simon. And those bells from that Bob James song can be heard in a whole bunch of other tunes too, including Run-D.M.C.'s "Peter Piper," the end of Missy Elliott's "Work It," a fantastic early 2000s Bad Boy Records remix of pop group Dream's "This Is Me," Boys Noize's "Rock the Bells," and so many other songs.
And for someone like me who can really never get enough of those Bob James bells, I really appreciate the person who edited and lengthened this video for "The Power" here, in order to have it match the long, eight-plus-minute extended re-recorded 12" version that stars Turbo B and Penny Ford.
So now you know pretty much everything that there is to know about this late 80s-early 90s dance classic. And when it comes to a lot of these Eurodancy jock jams that I've been posting a lot more of recently, I happen to love them in a bit of an ironic and rose-tinted, nostalgic kind of way; but "The Power" is one that I know, for a fact, I would still love, even if it was just some obscure song that I'd just discovered recently instead. It's much chiller than a lot of the other more maximalist and intense commercial dance fare that was out at around that same time, and I think it's a genuinely brilliant tune. So, hopefully this thorough post has helped you develop a deeper appreciation for it too 😊.
More fun videos here.

I like that some sensed people are still able to recognize that whether Erling Haaland or Leo Messi take the award home, it's valid. Changes from all the others ~ wave hand in a general direction ~ people. Not even to mention how past and current football figures agree on it too. Soothes my mind.
Honestly I'm just tired of talking about it, since 1) it's silly 2) it's settled 3) it's simple. Let's make it plain.
Tumblr media
"Why not just put the goals?"
There are awards for the best goalscorer. This isn't one of them.
Brief comparison
Haaland had a maddening records breaking season, won the treble, but didn't show up for the semi and finals of those. Messi did an average club season (equal to, if I remember correctly, the "excellent" season of Antoine Griezmann so, there's that.) and an all-time World Cup campaign. It's a WC year; it has since after 2010 (year of change of criterias + voting participants) weighted on the BO's results.
The reason it's a close call this year is cause of the treble (huge weight) balanced by the ghosting of Haaland during those crucial points vs WC all time balanced by the average club season of Messi. Haaland being a 9 means that when he's not there, he doesn't do anything for the team. Stems from his position. Whereas if Messi doesn't score, he still has his passing and playmaking which, picture me surprised, actually make him having more impact as a player for his team.
Look at the pic. Make the needed mental gymnastics. To get to the conclusion that one of them is robbing the other is mental. Both are deserving.
WC's weight
It's ultimately this and the WC's weight (and I sure ain't about to get into an argument comparing the treble, insane achievement that can be achieved every year, to the WC, insane achievement that can be achieved once every four, and being the MOTT of said tournament) that makes it tip towards Messi, even though I expect the votes to be close. The WC has been held over Messi's head for more than a decade. Everyone knew that if he put a consistent season and a good WC campaign, he'd been a strong contender. He had a consistent season and had an all-time, MOTT WC campaign. Point's made.
Criteria : Vital role
Another point: the "vital role in the team and honours" criteria. Haaland makes this City team dominate, not a shadow of doubt. But Kevin de Bruyne is the one that's vital to it. Take away KDB and Haaland isn't there (once again: stems from his position. He's a 9.)
Due to his national team not being in the WC (which once again : he's indeed from Norway, a NT which hasn't much WC history. But, in 2018, Messi single handedly drew Argentina to the WC. Haaland wasn't capable of this.), he couldn't prove himself to be crucial there either. So, Haaland is important but not vital to this City team, whereas Messi was important in PSG (a-fucking-gain, 40 G/A, this isn't an argument) and vital for his NT. There you go, one criteria more.
Sweet sweet "robberies"
When you got R9, Wenger, Henry, some France NT (Griezmann and others, can't recall), Hazard, Silva and co - current/former players who played and know the weight of the WC - saying Messi deserves it; the club coach of Haaland saying they'd both deserve it ; and you arrive to the conclusion that Messi is robbing Haaland (or, for that matter, that Haaland would be robbing Messi), then the true reason of your positionning can't be clearer.
And finally,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Those are what you call robberies. Can't be one when both deserve it. Haaland will be just fine and will have plenty of WC-free seasons to destroy every records available and show up at crucial points. Chill. I'm done talking about this, people are to stuck to their own opinions to be changed atp.
This is a fun night, I'm so ready to make fun of everyone's fit and awkward talk. It ain't that deep. Hope everyone, whether for Haaland, Messi or bloody Musiala has fun!

I swear 2po and friends are more concerned and protective over Misha’s supposed public heterosexuality than Misha himself is. Dude was literally joking about complimenting Rob post-coital at the end of his last panel (https://deanandkastiel.tumblr.com/post/700857537497612288/misha-stop)
People need to chill lmao
Yeah like. These people that are pearl clutching when I take a hammer to their broken narrative and going OMG UR OUTTING HIM.
No man. He did the basic recloseting thing. He threw up a public veneer of deniability, kept his head down for a month or two, and then resumed normal queering of everything, as we queers do.
What this fandom doesn't like to face is that they did this. They're the one that blew such a small, passive moment at what was really a limited event. Misha was basically treating it like a M&G and of COURSE some motherfucker went way the fuck out of pocket and posted that publicly. And it went viral and the world swept it up because everyone had been waiting and goddamn knew.
But he was mid divorce. There's custody shit to consider. He was at a new job instead of his years of stability in an old one and didn't know his peers well yet. He fuckin ducttaped you fuckers fucking him over and then had to actually Stop Being Misha for a few months when he went lowkey, now he's just back to normal.
But fandom doesn't want to hear it was complicit in a global outing. They're gonna pretend they can't figure out what just happened. I just took a fucking meat tenderizer to their BUT HIS TWEETS because lmfao buddy if you knew who posted that
seriously. Then after they go around screaming--a few of them whipping up discontent against Misha in HOW DARE HE, others going HOW DARE YOU, and it's like. no you guys are just dumb. I'm gonna call you dumb. You're just propaganda artists looking for spin and drama. Leave the man alone, and leave fans alone that know what's going on better than you do. Stop trying to fucking harass him or his fans into coming out again to make you guys feel good.
or in 2po's case let's face it, he has other agendas behind wanting to bulldoze that dialogue out there.

Summoning the OG timeline characters (badly) Pt. 4
Our story begins with the kind and humble Havik, who sees a boy named Shujinko, who is training to be the very best, like no one ever was. Now, Havik resided in Chaosrealm, where the only rule was there were no rules, and he wanted to share this with young Shujinko. So he fucking jumps the kid and Shujinko fairs off against him. Then Havik, being the tweaker he is, is like “Good job bud your training is done. Then Shujinko is like “WTF DO YOU MEAN TRAINING IS DONE U TRIED KILLING ME BITCH” and Havik was like “Yea that’s the training lmfao” and Shujinko’s like “ohhh lmfao. So what’s good g?” and Havik is like “there’s some MCGA asswholes from Orderrealm who want to get rid of the  c h a o s . So I want you to kick they asses and put these silly little armbands on them that says they like chaos” and Shujinko’s like “lmao thats sum good shit. Brb,” and Shujinko leaves, and on his way back he talks to Havik and is like “my man Havik I did it. But why tf was they in a water temple?” and Havik is like “Water’s gucci af” and Shujinko’s like “oh ok lol can i have a key to get a Kamidogu now?” which is an ancient artifact the “elder gods” want him to get, and Havik’s like “oh shi tru here” and he gives shujinko the key. So Shujinko leaves and now Havik is alone again. Yep. All alone. Noothing to do in Chaosrealm except scream and do silly shit. Yep. Very fun. … … … “Oh shit wait I remember some dude telling me that if those Kamodo Dragon things merge together, Onaga the Dragon King will come back and rule over all the realms. Can’t have that. No sir. I hate rules” so Havik makes his way to Onaga’s temple and on the way finds a burned cripple and is like “dude tf are you good?” and he’s like “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-” and Havik’s like “sweet. So tell me about yourself Kabal” and Kabal’s like “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-” and Havik’s like “Oh shit he took your hookswords, too? Damn. Red Dragon ain got no chill. Say why dont you start the black dragon back up with you as the leader?” and Kabal is like “AAAAAAAAAAAAlright. Sounds sick” so Havik heals him up with his silly powers and now Kabal is better than ever, but Havik also had to make him criminally insane bc thats how Chaos magic works. So Kabal and Havik pull up in Earthrelam and they find this Afghani refugee and she’s also criminally inane, and Kabal and Havik are like “come with us” and she’s like “ok” and then they go to new york city and they find this maniac going around robbing and killing people with martial arts and fucking fire and they’re like “sick” and they find him and he’s like “WHO DARES CHALLENGE THE GREAT POWERFUL KOBRA-” and Havik’s like “sick ok you wanna join us?” and Kobra’s like “ok”, and thus Black Dragon: The Squeakquel was formed. And Havik’s like “alr boys plan’s simple. Shujinko’s on his way to resurrect Onaga fsr and we don’t want that because he’ll make everything have rules and stuff. So what we’re gonna do is wait for the heroes of the realms to come by and help Shujinko bc he’s dumb as nuts and doesn’t know what he’s doing, we let everyone kick Onaga’s keester, and that’s when I go in, eat his heart, and we become ruler of the realms” and they’re like “k” and so they go, and sure enough, the heroes of the realms had defeated Onaga. But before Havik could get to Onaga, Nightwolf, one of the heroes, is like “we defeated Onaga, that’s crazy, woah! Let’s send him to Netherealm, the stupid ho!” and so he sends his soul to Netherrealm before Havik could get his heart. And then Havik isn’t really seen until the fight of Armageddon fighting Cyrax, and then he dies like pretty much everyone else.

HISTORY...
tw: child abandonment, parental death.
Gale Hawthorne has been fighting his whole life. He is dirt under fingernails and matted down hair and scars on tan skin. All he's known is that he needs to scramble his way through life before it finds a way to sink him, and that's what he's always done.
He can't remember a life before his parents, not quite. His colorful and vivid memories are a well-painted picture far after his six or seven years of life, within the comfort of a newfound home to call his own. But he remembers the feeling. He remembers the cold abandonment of the streets, the chill in his bones that made him think he would die out there. Alone. He remembers thinking he'd give anything to have a family. He was four-years-old and already bargaining with death to let him live another day.
This was the certain weight that Gale carried everywhere – like a sack, a lump of grief that he dragged behind him, everywhere he went, from birth. He grew into a confident boy, and then soon into a snarky teenager, but he was still always a touch too sober. There was always a dullness in his eyes, even behind the childish glint of his one too many dry jokes. He was robbed of a childhood, and he could only emulate that same sort of freedom he saw on other kids.
And then he was robbed of his teenage years, too. It was only natural to step up when his father died, even if that gave him no time to mourn. Even if it meant choking back tears while he held his little siblings and his mother. He did what he'd always known best, he squared his shoulders up and he braved it, for the people he loves. People would often give him sad eyes and tell his mother about what a pity it was, that he had to become the man of the house so young, but Gale sees it as a blessing now. A blessing that he was the one to do it, so his siblings could cry when they needed to. A blessing that he could hunt and prepare meals and give the little ones baths, while his mother had time to grieve. A blessing that the sacrifice was his, not anyone else's, because he loves them so much.
Life is this, he learns. For people like him, life is baring his teeth and laughing at misery, and finding peace where he can. He takes care of his family, he loves with his heart tucked safely away in his chest. He's unlucky with love, he'd tell you, in the same breath he'd make some awfully dry remark about how maybe he could test his luck out in the Games, next. Maybe deep down, he always knew he and Katniss couldn't work, and maybe that still stings. His tongue is a weapon sharpened to precision that doesn't hesitate to protect the beating organ in his ribcage whenever he's near her or Peeta, these days.
The last year has been a blur. Losing the girl he loved – over and over again, first for the reaping, then for marriage, now for the capitol –, having to worry about his siblings and their names being called in the next few years, being whipped to near-death in the town square. He can feel something building in his throat, something in him pulled taut like a rubber band, ready to snap broken. This can't be the world they live in. Resentment pools somewhere in his stomach, at this whole thing, and at anyone who isn't actively doing something about it.
Enough of his bitter remarks eventually catch the attention of the rebellion. A hushed voice offers him a chance to help one day, while he's selling game in a back alley, and he takes it without any hesitation. A chance to make a difference, that's all he needs, he thinks.
And then his mother is reaped and he feels his shoulders caving in. Tall and broad Gale Hawthorne, suddenly small, a frail thing, no bigger than the four-year-old his mother found on the streets that one fateful night. He can't look at her for a while, and when he finally does, he knows she can see the terror in his eyes. He'd become immune to so many things, he'd toughen up in the face of so much pain, but not this. Now he doesn't think he could survive losing her, too.
When he wins the lottery ticket, his chest burns with something foul. He is not naive enough to think that this is a sick joke from the universe, no, he knows everything has a certain hand behind it. So he bears it. For the first time in his life, the tides shift, and he chooses something else over taking care of his family. He kisses his siblings on the head and leaves them behind, to go fight for something better. He'll build a new world for them, teeth and nails, if he must.
