Leo Demidov is a crafter

Aside from smoking (vaping for the modern version of our favourite Russian bear, who will always try to hide it like in the gif despite sitting next to you like a pissed off dragon in the next second), Leo finds comfort in busying his hands.

He’s very frugal when it comes to clothing, thinking it a shame to get rid of a shirt or pair of pants if they only have a hole in them. If torn at the seam, he’ll plop down in front of the hearth in the old rocking chair that once belonged to his Nan and mend the item. Give him a cup of coffee and snack to enjoy while he’s at it and he’ll be as happy as Larry.

Maybe a sound oddly similar to a purr might leave him if you do… or is he humming?🤔🧐

He loves to crochet too, mostly tapestry and blankets though he occasionally dabbles in amigurumi and wearables. So don’t be surprised if you find a stuffed lion (or wolf) or a nice, albeit perhaps a bit oversized, sweater beneath the Christmas tree. Look, Leo didn’t want to ruin the surprise by asking for your measurements. He also felt like it was kinda rude even though it’s not given the circumstances.

The main reason he likes the craft are the rhythmic motions which send him in an almost meditative trance. It allows him to momentarily be free from all that weighs on his mind.

(And keep the Wolf at bay if we’re talking werewolf!Leo😉)

"You're pretty."

"You're drunk, Leo." You giggled, adjusting his hat that he tilted to the side.

"And in KGB uniform no less! Dirty boy!" You teased, straightening out his grey jacket.

"No one's ever made me feel like this." Leo confessed, rubbing your cheek gently. Your smile fell. What was once drunk flirting was now frustrating you. Leo Demidov was a war hero, a well established KGB man who would never take the time on a bar maid as yourself. He came in regularly after hard days at work, this bar was known for that, KGB men who drank and conversed freely.

"Leo, do not toy with me. You do not feel anything but lust for me. I would never fit in your world." You spat, feeling anger towards the man. He seemed to sober up a tad and muttered.

"What?"

"If I ask you to kiss me in front of all these people, will you do it?" You questioned. Leo paused, looking around the bar. You laughed humorlessly.

"Exactly. I don't fit in your world and you don't fit in mine. In another universe my mighty lion, I would love you the way you claim to love me." You spoke, sighing. Before Leo could respond, KGB stormed the bar, guns raised.

"You bar workers are under arrest for treason! Leave with us now, no struggling." The leader instructed, a gun from a young soldier shoved in your face. Leo was sobering up quickly, trying to diffuse the situation.

"Officer Demidov, would you like to be investigated for treason?" The head officer threatened. Leo took a step back and rubbed his face. You smiled with tears in your eyes as the men began dragging you and the other barmaids out.

"In another life, my lion."

Top/Favourite Tom Hardy Series & Movies to Re-watch Time and Again

I was tagged by the lovely @hecatemoon87 to compose a wee list of my favourite films & series starring our dreamy Londoner, so *claps hands* lets get cracking!

#1 Peaky Blinders

Honestly, can you blame me for this one? The first time I ever saw this series, I was skeptical about Alfie. However, how-so-bloody-ever, as the seasons went on, I was drawn in more and more by him. Something in his manner, his unpredictable cleverness, spoke to me.

I’m currently on my second rewatch of the entire series so I’m up to date for S6, but, I’ll be honest, I’m mostly watching it for Tom.

Alfie made my rekindled crush on Tom so much worse. I can already hear you ask: “Rekindled? What sparked it in the first place?”

To the last part the answer is “I honestly can’t remember”. I just have a weakness for British men. And Irish… and Scottish. Anywho, I can pinpoint exactly when it was that I started gushing over him all over again.

#2 Venom

Yup, this movie absolutely did it for me. I’m sorry, but Tom portrayed Eddie (and Venom) as absolute hubby material.

Sure, I liked the story too despite hating sci-fi and anything related to aliens. I suppose it’s the human aspect and my own fascination with the ways in which we humans can work with the monstrous and harbour it ourselves, underlined by a scientific background, that has me returning to this one.

Also, in this house it’s canon Eddie reads romance novels and loves to watch anime with his girlfriend.

#3 Child 44

Gods, it’s been too long since I saw this movie. Note to self: buy and rewatch it. Also, finally read the book! It’s only gathering dust on your shelves.

Now, this choice has a kinda funny story behind it. I said to me mum I had found a movie with Tom called Child 44, which I rented on YouTube and would watch later that day. She plopped down next to me on the couch and, using my phone to broadcast on the telly since the YT app on it hated me, we watched it together.

I can’t say too much about the plot since it’s based on a true story. However, I’ll say this, it was interesting to get a perspective on the KGB and life in Russia during the 1940s. And Tom as Leo… my, oh, my. I thought the accent would make me bristle continuously and I’d tap out at once, as I tend to do with movies that have actors that attempt an accent that isn’t their own. Furthermore, there are some accents I just can’t listen to. I’m sorry, but it’s true.

I digress. Tom as Leo, right. At first, I expected to develop pure annoyance when it comes to him. Yet, I didn’t. Tom perfectly portrayed the complexities within Leo, personality and psyche alike, nurtured by an oppressive society during a difficult time in history.

#4 The Drop

I didn’t expect too much of this movie, which kinda helped since the plot is weak. Same goes for Warrior, by the way. But why did I include it in this wee list then?

*sighs* Because I like Tom and love his voice, regardless of what accent he puts on. And, sometimes, I just have the need to watch a movie with him, enjoy how talented and big he is. To not analyze the plot but the characters, put inspiration out of the movie’s weak points and hope to transform them into something better.

Plus, Bob is, in my mind, this adorable shy guy who’s been raised proper and therefore knows how to treat a woman right.

And a werewolf bartender who writes paranormal romance, bite me.

#5 Lawless

This movie and Tom as Forrest took me by surprise. I don’t really have an interest in the Prohibition, anything to do with American crime and history in general (except H.H. Holmes), but this was basically a Quintin Tarantino movie with less blood and more plot.

AND I LOVED IT!

Here and there on Tumblr I’d seen some talk about Forrest Bondurant, bits of info from which I had composed a profile of this rough, gruff, arrogant and violent man with a keen business sense. It was almost accurate.

Little did I expect he’d be an awkward bub around women. He’s basically a (secret) care bear in a cardigan with rough edges.

Thank you so so much!!! 🥰 Yes, he is one of those unloved characters that I have a soft spot for!

I don't think he would be very happy if he wasn't a soldier/in service somehow. Leo seems restless to me and honestly, as much as I don't believe him to be violent, he doesn't strike me as someone who has great control over his emotions. He needs to let it out somewhere.

Speaking of which, I don't see him as very experienced with women. He wouldn't necessarily surprise you with amazing seduction skills or bedroom prowess. I'm sorry but that's the vibe I'm getting from Leo. He isn't one of the Hardy characters that make you instantly swoon (*cough* James Delaney *cough*)

I personally had a hard time writing for this character, because it's very difficult to sypathise with him due to his allegiance. I don't want to get political, but I'm sure you know what I mean.

I don't think he necessarily believes in the propaganda, but still I can't be sure.

He's a rare Hardy character that I completely headcanon as a cat lover and I won't take any criticism 🤣

But he is loyal to a fault and one thing that is very attractive in Leo and what makes him such a complicated beast is the ferocity with which he protects his own.
