Ceramic Hen Planter (Bone Dry Stage)

I'm in a ceramics class and our first project was a planter, so I made a chicken! She also has a nest drainage plate. The planter has since been fired, but the nest hasn't. I'll share them together when they're all done!

Some finds from a thrift outing with family and friends while on vacation.

1. This isn’t all of the cabbage/lettuce kitchenware we saw. Could probably theme an entire kitchen around the entire spread we found.

2. Ninjago collection manuals for the first several seasons worh of sets. I was tempted but I don’t actually collect the sets.

3. A very pretty lamp decked out in ace colors, probably not on purpose considering the place it was found. Picture taken to show a very dear ace friend of mine who didn’t come with me on this trip.

4. The commodophone. My dad was very excited to tell us about it and I do not blame him for it. It’s electric and I can’t help but think about what it’d sound like fully hooked up and tuned.

5. Large metal rooster in a top hat. I need to share it with the world.

6. One of many interesting little wind chimes in one booth. There were also pentagrams all over the place. I enjoyed the contrast to most of the other booths around it.

7. Mason jar wine glass. Strange and lovely.

8. My most precious new possession: the fish teapot. I fell in love with it immediately and couldn’t leave without it. It will go splendidly with my contrastingly-cute teacups.

i need to draw this part of mochi more but she is honestly, from an onlookers perspective, very weird. and the reason for it is that she has a habit of collecting and hoarding old, gross, used, useless, or otherwise unwanted things.

as a witch, anything can be used all spell ingredients because objects in the world inherently have properties that can be used for spells (think botw where its like "old snail shell can boost speed" kind of thing), and often times the properties are stronger AFTER said object has been gently to moderately used. an eraser has good properties for glue spells BUT a used and chewed on eraser has STRONGER properties for glue spells

so when she was a little kid, in school you could catch her on the floor scraping up eraser shavings that a kid brushed off his desk. the teacher tries to empty out the pencil shavings bin and mochi ZOOMS in with a jar to catch all of it before it goes into the trash. a kid sticks their gum under the desk and 10 minutes later mochi is on the floor scraping it off and putting it in a little box. and when they were young it really FREAKED lime out, but over time hes like "Whatever, you do you i guess." (shes trying to be a good little witch-to-be and help her mom collect potion ingredients)

as she grows up she gets better at blending in and and uhh NOT doing that, but occasionally you'll still catch her picking up old chewed on pencils, rusty paper clips, soggy pieces of paper, whatever off the floor

#young lime was an asshole and encouraged it #lime: oh look...a half-empty carton of chunky milk in the dumpster... #mochi 2 seconds later: (fishing it out) #lime: (WHEEZING AND TAKING PHOTOS) #poor mochi #shes the type of gamer who collects every single collectable item no matter if she needs it or not #older lime still encourages it but hes less of an ass #she sees a torn up shoe in a tree outside the school and wants to grab it but doesnt want to call attention to herself #lime just sighs and grabs it out of the branches for her #theres so much spell ingredient shit in the greenhouse where they keep all the magic stuff #most random things ever #in a jar youll see a frost-bitten chicken breast in motor oil #mochi: that needs to marinate more to be useful #lime: ?????????????

On the one hand I’m very much pissed off that Aardman/Netflix claimed Julia Sawalha sounded “too old” to come back and voice Ginger in the Chicken Run sequel (which is a lie), only to then cast someone who sounds NOTHING like Ginger’s voice in the slightest. Kind of takes me out a bit, I won’t lie.

Everything is a complaint! M(uffy)olly has the same personality as she had in her original game! Nami is still standoffish! Ma(rlin)tthew is too obsessed with Celia (valid)! Negative things happen which is bad!! Lumina's existence is a criminal offense and there has to be at least five posts a day about how it's Creepy and Icky and Disgusting that she's there (with the implication that pursuing her is Heinous)!!

Like I know nobody's gonna be 100% pleased, and I love discussion of negative reactions! But jesus howard christ it's endless and THE dumbest shit. So much falls under It Is Not That Deep Bro, and I generally love to makes things That Deep. Participating in those subs is usually a lot of fun and brings me a lot of joy in the form of shitposting, memes, analysis, fanart, etc. but good goddamn it's been unbearable there since release.
