okoye’s response to @smertzimy
Okoye smirked, eyeing the man with no small amount of condescension, albeit held back. “’Mild’ is how you season your food; I would not apply that word to your drinking habits, White Wolf.”

Okoye shifted against Attuma, trying to gain a bit more comfort in the hammock strung across their patio. At nearly 34 weeks pregnant, no position was truly comfortable for long, but she didn’t want to move. Post-nap cuddling had become an essential part of their routine at some indeterminate point during her pregnancy, and she wouldn’t get up unless absolutely necessary. Attuma lay behind her, the big spoon to her little, sheltering her in his broad frame. He had one strong arm slung across her waist, hand resting low on her protruding belly, the other bent at the elbow, acting as a pillow for her head.
She sighed deeply, cozy and content in the evening breeze, and pressed her head back into his chest. Her hand came to rest on her upper left side, pushing gently on the small foot that had taken its daily residence between her ribs.
“Molo, mncinane. [Hello, little one.].” she whispered, rubbing small circles over her ribcage. Her other children moved within her, a swift kick causing her to grimace and groan quietly.
“Are you well, in yakunaj?” Attuma asked, sitting up slightly.
“Mhm. Just one of your stars giving their daily hello,” Okoye replied, placing her hand atop his. She interlocked their fingers and squeezed gently to reassure him.
Attuma worried more than a mother duck as her time came closer. It was sweet, if a little stifling. But she wasn’t going to complain. Carrying three children was no simple feat, but Attuma’s steadfast love and attentive care made even the hardest days feel light.
He moved their hands back up to her side, murmuring his own greeting. A reciprocal push against his palm and the flutter of movement across her abdomen made her laugh as their children responded enthusiastically to the sound of their father’s rumbling timber. She could feel Attuma’s proud smile, and her heart swelled with affection for the Talokanil general. Okoye could easily admit to loving these little moments most of all. Bast knew there weren’t enough words to properly articulate how deep her love ran, but she tried to express it anyway.
She pressed a kiss to the cerulean forearm beneath her head. “I love you,” she whispered against his warm skin.
Attuma pressed a long kiss to the top of her head, returning the sentiment in the same hushed whisper. He slid their entwined hands across her bump, rubbing wide circles, and began humming a quiet lullaby. The tune was familiar by now, taught to him by his mother, and he used it to soothe the excited flutters of their little stars. His dulcet notes, combined with the gentle sway of their hammock, nearly lulled her into another nap. They lay in their little bubble of peace, basking in the warmth of the setting sun, until her kimoyo beads chimed, alerting her to the hour.
Okoye untwined her and Attuma’s fingers, pressing a bead to turn off the quiet alarm. Attuma wrapped both arms around her, cradling her gently as he sat them up. He pulled her onto his lap and swung his legs to the ground in one fluid motion that made her more than a bit jealous of his grace. At this stage in her pregnancy, she had all the finesse of a baby hippo.
“Would you like to go for another walk before dinner, in K’iino’?” Attuma asked, shifting her forward to massage the ever-present ache in her lower back.
Okoye bit back a moan, bracing her hands on her knees as his thumbs began working firm circles on the strained muscles. There truly were not enough words to express her gratitude to every deity for this man. Leaning back into the massage, Okoye made a disaffected noise at the question. She was not interested in going on another walk before dinner. They would, of course, but she was decidedly unenthused at the prospect.
Beautiful as this pregnancy had been, she could say with firm resolution that she was done. It was time for her children to make their way into the world. Sooner rather than later, if she was being honest. Still, Okoye had reservations about medically inducing, so her doctor gave them a list of things that would hopefully encourage her body to begin the process naturally.
They tried everything. Massages, sex, acupressure, exercise, more sex, different foods and teas, and even nipple stimulation, which, invariably, led to more sex. She wasn’t complaining, of course. Attuma certainly wasn’t inconvenienced by their efforts. But Okoye was tired. She needed these babies out.
Everything and everyone was ready for the trio’s arrival.
The nursery was complete, an easy mix of Wakandan and Talokanil cultures with enough clothes and gifts Okoye was sure her children wouldn’t actually be able to use. The go-bag Ayo bought for them had been by the front door for the last three weeks, packed with color-coordinated outfits sewn by, Yoltzin, Attuma’s mother, and the matching blankets her mother had woven and embroidered. Nakia and Toussaint had returned to Wakanda last month, and Shuri had designed and built a hi-tech birthing chamber at the palace, retrofitted with every gadget and monitor she could pack in. The princess had also created an entire AI protocol to alert everyone in their family when her time came, Attuma’s family included. Not that it was necessary. Namora and Yoltzin called nightly, determined not to miss a single moment of her pregnancy.
They were all waiting on the babies. And Okoye was doing everything in her power to get them out - which included going on two or three short walks every day, per Dr. Langeni’s orders.
“Just along the riverbank, yeah?” Okoye said, groaning loudly when he hit a particularly sore knot, her eyes fluttering shut. “I’m not interested in receiving more parenting advice today.” The aunties at the marketplace were always ready with a litany of things she should and should not be doing, stopping her every few meters to offer unsolicited advice. Okoye blinked and swung her legs out, catching sight of her swollen ankles. She sighed, “And I don’t want to wear shoes.”
Attuma huffed a laugh and effortlessly shifted her into a bridal hold, standing so he could set her on her feet. “Whatever you desire, in K’iino’.”
He held Okoye’s waist, allowing her to steady herself against his solid frame. In another life, her pride would’ve been bruised at the amount of help she required these days. But being with Attuma was different. He never made her feel less than for needing him, and Okoye trusted him to bolster her weak places and shield her vulnerabilities. Even with all the history she and W’Kabi shared, things had never come this simply. There was always a fight to be had or a compromise to be negotiated. Her relationship with Attuma had an ease she’d never experienced before, and even when she didn’t need his help, she wanted it.
Here, with him, there was no bruised pride or wounded egos to be had. Only love, deep and abiding.
She tilted her head up to kiss him gently, thanking him, and grabbed his hand, entwining their fingers in the same manner as their souls. “Come on, Indoda Krebe. Let’s see if we can convince your pups to make an appearance today.”
~~~
They returned from their walk to find a delicious aroma filling the house and her mother bustling about in their kitchen, not an uncommon sight these past few months. She had temporarily moved from her home at the Border into an apartment in Birnin Zana, a quick five-minute train ride from Okoye’s own, and had insisted on coming over at least three times a week to help. Her “help” mostly meant cooking too much food and stuffing the triplets’ nursery with more toys and clothes than three babies needed, but Okoye appreciated her all the same. They’d invited her to stay in the house with them, of course; Okoye had two extra bedrooms aside from her own and the nursery, but her mother insisted that she needed her own space. Okoye suspected it was to hide whatever unnecessary purchases she made in the name of spoiling her yet-unborn grandchildren.
“Hi, umama,” she called, drying her feet on the mat by her kitchen door. Attuma followed in after her, activating the overhead sonic dryer to avoid getting water on the floors after his dip in the river.
“Hello, intombi, unyana,” her mother smiled from behind the island.
Okoye waddled over, greeting her mother with a kiss on the cheek, resting her head on her shoulder. She inhaled deeply, peering down at the covered pot simmering on the stove. “Smells good; what’s for dinner?”
Her mother chuckled and kissed her forehead. “Oxtails.”
Okoye’s eyes lit up. “Ooh, does it have-”
“Cassava? Ewe kunjal [Yes, of course], ntombi,” she replied with a smirk. “I wouldn’t dare deprive you of your beloved starch.”
Behind them, Attuma laughed. “Thank Chaac for your forethought, Mama. I fear K’iino’ wouldn’t survive a day without her medicinal potatoes.”
Okoye turned and cut her eyes at him. “Keep it up, and you can sleep on the couch, krebe.” She walked around her mother to the fridge, opening it to grab two water bottles.” I have a body pillow that does everything you can,” she snarked, holding one out to him.
“I doubt that, in yakunaj,” he retorted, snagging her wrist instead of the bottle. Tugging her into his arms, he ducked his head to whisper in her ear. “In wojel ba’ax ma’ je’el chup teech jach ma’alob bey in polla. [I know it cannot fill you as well as my cock.].”
“Yeka!” she hissed through grit teeth, swatting his arm.
He chortled and kissed her wrist, cracking open his water bottle and swapping with her. Okoye rolled her eyes and took the bottle, sipping the cold water slowly. She ambled over to the dinner table, easing down, and asked her mother when the food would be ready.
“If you two can manage to keep your hands off of each other, we can sit for dinner in 10 minutes,” she responded, unimpressed by their antics.
Attuma slid next to her mother and wrapped an arm around her. “Ndixolele [Forgive me], Mama,” he said, fixing her with his most charming smile, dimples on full display. “Is there anything I can do to help?”
Her mother was no more immune to his charm than Okoye was, and she pinched his dimpled cheek with a grin, instructing him to set the table for six. It seemed they were expecting company, and she had a good idea of who would be in attendance. The timely chime of the doorbell, followed by the sound of shuffling feet in her foyer, confirmed her thoughts.
“Hello? Is anyone home?” Nakia’s voice called loudly from the entryway.
The quick patter of little feet announced her nephew’s arrival, and Toussaint rushed down the hall before his mother. He skid to a stop at Okoye’s knees. “Umakazi!” he cried excitedly, throwing his arms around her neck.
“Oh!” Okoye beamed, wrapping the young boy in her arms as much as possible. “Molo, intsini yam encinci! [Hello, my little laugh!].”
Toussaint released her neck and stood between her legs, both hands on her belly. “Hello, babies,” he greeted softly. His gap-toothed grin lit up his face, reminding Okoye of a young T’Challa greeting Shuri the same way while the Queen was pregnant.
Nakia sauntered into view, dropping two bags on the sofa out of her sight before coming over to hug her quickly, ignoring the suspicious look Okoye shot her way. She floated into the kitchen, greeting her mother and Attuma in turn, and grabbed plates to help set the table. Toussaint wiggled out of her arms and climbed on the chair next to her, waiting for the perfect opportunity to pounce on her beloved. As his mother and uncle rounded the kitchen island, her nephew leaped from the chair.
“Uncle ‘Tuna!” The boy shouted, all giggles as Attuma caught him deftly in one arm, shifting the basket of injera bread to the other.
“Hello, chan báalam [little jaguar],” he greeted warmly, pressing his forehead against Toussaint’s.
Attuma set the bread basket on the table and took Toussaint back into the kitchen to greet her mother, who showered him with kisses just as she used to with T’Challa. Her heart twinged at the sound of his young voice calling her “umakhulu!” knowing he would never truly know his grandparents. Okoye blinked back the tears that threatened to overwhelm her. T’Challa had them, and that would be enough.
“So,” Okoye said, clearing her throat, “how many bibs did you buy today? Or is it onesies this time?” She smiled at Nakia, who finished laying out their flatware.
Nakia stopped short and opened her mouth to deny any such bib purchases but was stopped short by the sound of the doorbell again.
“You’d better still be pregnant, sisi!” Shuri’s voice rang as she glided into the house.
“I am still very much pregnant, Shuri,” Okoye replied, rolling her eyes playfully.
“Good.” The lanky woman-child slung her arms over Okoye’s shoulders, resting her chin on her head. “Im upgrading the filtration and drainage systems of the Amnio tonight, so my nieces need to stay put.”
Attuma set Toussaint down and fixed Shuri with a challenging smirk. “Your nephews will come in Ix Chel’s time. But I would suggest that you cease making updates to your Amnio. In K’iino’s time is almost upon us.”
“Auntie’s gonna have the babies soon?” Toussaint asked, staring up at Attuma.
“Yes, chan báalam. If not this week, then the next. You will soon have cousins.”
The boy smiled, giddy at the prospect. T’Challa didn’t quite understand that the babies wouldn’t be able to play for a while, but his excitement was a delight.
Her mother came out of the kitchen, setting the pot of oxtails on the table with a wide smile amid the ongoing chatter. Okoye mirrored her expression as she gazed around the table at her family. They were missing a few members, but this was her family. Her eyes locked with Attuma’s, and he smiled softly at her.
Their family.
She couldn’t wait to welcome their children into it.
Subterfuge - Attoye (M)
Omega! Attuma longs for the Alpha! okoye to pick him as her very own, but he doubts she would ever want him…
Omegas were supposed to be dainty and fragile, but Attuma was large and physically strong, though his personality was meek. He decides to at least take a chance, even if she will send him on his way.
Okoye surprises him.
22 (too hot to handle) - Attoye (M)
Okoye. The youngest General in all of Wakandan history. The prized warrior of her country, a shining beacon of light and most sought after eligible woman…
Has a secret.
And her secret wishes he could tell her he loved her.
Don’t Run From Me - Attoye (M) ch. 9
Don’t wanna spoil too much so here’s dialogue instead…
“You will remain in this home, woman. And stay away from other men.”
“Or what?”
Shadows hang over his perfect face as he stalks to her and stands over her position on her knees. “I will kill them.” The gasp that leaves her lips is completely involuntary.
“When the blood is drained from their bodies and the life has left their eyes, will you believe me then? Will you stop calling my bluff once I have killed men for you?”
“I… No! That’s-“ he frightened her. He was capable of such heinous crimes and far more willing then he should be.
“These meaningless lives gone because you couldn’t wait for your Alpha to return home?”
Her stomach dropped at that and she scowled at this monster of a man. “If you killed them, I would consider it the act of a mad man! I would not hold myself accountable!”
His eyes, devoid of light but full of emotion swept over her barely clothed body and reached out a hand to gently stroke her face. Hands capable of breaking men’s necks touching her so gingerly.
“My pretty flower,” His lip curled and revealed a canine dripping with saliva. “That is a comfort to no one but you.”
He pulled away from her and her lip trembled but she did not speak. She picked a shoe up from the floor and tossed it at him, it hit his thigh and made him laugh while sliding on his shirt.
He spoke before he left her there.
“I’ll bring food for you to prepare when I return. How lucky I am to have you…”
C’mere Lover Boy! - Attoye (M) ch. 6
“This is a pomegranate. It’s one of my favorite fruits. If I’m feeling self-indulgent, I will often cover the seeds with chocolate and eat them for a snack.”
He raises one eyebrow. “Have you brought any chocolate?”
“No,” she said, avoiding his eye contact coyly and shrugging as she attempted to pry open one of the pomegranates. “You do not deserve it.”
Attuma laughed under his breath as she finally managed to pop open the sections of the red fruit. “How cruel…” he watched her nod to herself, and then gesture toward him to do what she had done.
He opens his mouth to say something, but instead, just watches wordlessly and she lowered herself to be closer to him, entirely between his legs. She smells divine… and as he gives her his arm to steady her when she lowers into his lap, sitting on his thigh, all he can think about is her little hand cupping his jaw.
Title: Dry drowning Ch 1. Part 1.
*Attuma meets Okoye* Oh how his flesh burned when she slashed his face.  Specs of blood that lingered on his fingertips after he had touched his cheek. The flashes of anger that rocketed through him at the thought of a mere surface dweller marking him with such preciseness and coldness.
Bahlam's eyes. Those dangerous dark chocolate eyes that stared him down, daring him to move closer to her. Yes. He would remember that look, sear it into his mind even after he would make her pay for slashing his face.  Perhaps his anger blinded him, for trying to invade her space wrapping a hand around her slender neck. She jabbed her fingers into his gills with such force that a pain growl let him while feeling her knee slam into his groin. The pained cry was her award and he took his revenge swiftly. Slamming her into his weapon that impaled the ground with force, a trade for a trade when it came to fighting dirty. Yet she didn't raise before him. Attuma refused to believe this jaguar, his jaguar was finished already. Kicking her spear to his feet, he pointed to her.
“We are not done. You dare to tease me with such strength and kneel so easily. On your feet, warrior.” Attuma growled at her. His speech was not translated for her due to the lack of her kimoyo beads, but Okoye did move nonetheless.  His lips twitched daring himself to grin in that moment, the pride and eagerness to see her slim form move.  Watching Okoye force her shoulder back into its sock with a pained yell. Grabbing her spear as she stood slowly, Attuma yanked his own weapon from the ground just in time as she charged towards him. With each of his strikes being met with his own, he couldn’t help the grin as Okoye glowered at him with such determination. Even if he noticed her guarding her now wounded arm.
Slow but she had learned from her mistake and will not allow it to happen again as he tried to charge her once more while pulling her weapon from her.
“Ch'en a báaxal yéetel termínala!”-(Stop playing and finish her!) Namora barked while slamming her spear into the ground. Attuma said nothing at first, his gaze never leaving Okoye’s. His grip on his weapon  tightened briefly on his weapon as he pushed himself away from Okoye. “You are not worth my blade.”He sneered towards Okoye before looking at Namora who threw a waterbomb towards him as if that was her attempt to get them both to stop. He hip-checked it at the last moment towards Okoye, giving an approving grunt as he watched when she almost sliced it in half. The waterbomb pushed Okoye off the bridge into the water and without thought he moved to the edge to look. Not to bask in victory but curiosity laced with worry to see if she was still alive. A sensation that briefly confused him later on in his thoughts.
Attuma mostly ignored Namora’s intruding questions about why he didn’t just kill Okoye. Knowing that he would have to answer these accusing questions in front of K’uk’ulkan later anyway.
He remained silent while he stalked over to the scientist who was immediately shielded by the other girl. Shuri. Shuri, Princess of Wakanda, is what her glowing beads told him and Namora. And she demanded to speak to K’uk’ulkan before killing the scientist. Attuma was never one to stray from his task without good reason anyway, so this was a surprise to not only Namora but the other warriors that were with them. He gave a look to Namora but both agreed to her demand as both were taken off the bridge and into the water. Just as they dove to take their trip to Talokan, Okoye made it to the surface releasing a broken scream. Warriors that were beneath, swimming closely to the orcas and humpback had begun to murmur among themselves. The warrior that bested them, the same warrior that almost brought Attuma into a stalemate was still alive. Namora had told Attuma of this and instead of being upset like Namora. He said nothing back to her nor the warriors, his curiosity was satisfied and his worry stilled. Attuma did not see the look that Namora gave him while he touched his own cheek with a distant look. Something anew lit within him, while he gave his report to the remaining warriors and people in Talokan. How one surface dweller held them off, how this one was very dangerous but he expressed to them all how none will touch her but him. Only him. ** -TBC- There is more but tumblr said nah thats too long and wouldn't post the rest. (1 of 2)
Turtledove - Chapter 20
Ch.19
AN: The final chapter is finally here! I had so much fun with this fic. I have plans for new ones in the future so stay tuned. Thank you so much for all of your comments and support.
Bucky POV
“So … what do you think Natasha. Do you think she will like it?” Bucky asked Natasha after showing her the ring he had chosen.
“She’s going to love it. I can’t believe you two are getting engaged” Natasha respond looking at the ring before leaning back into Steve’s arms. The three of them were in Steve and Natasha room that they were staying in while in Wakanda.
“It’s been a long time coming. I had planned on asking her before the war and everything. But then … well you know what happened. It’s not the exact ring I was going to use, I was planning on using my mums. But Shuri helped with making this one to be as close to that one.” Bucky said slipping the box that housed the ring into his pants pocket.
“It’s definitely beautiful. So have you decided on how you’re going to ask her yet?” Natasha asked.
“Yeah, I have the whole evening planned. Thanks again Steve for helping me plan it, could not have done that without you.” Bucky said.
“Of course Buck, you kidding. You and y/n deserve the best engagement story after everything the two of you have gone through.” Steve replied
“Where is she right now anyway?” Natasha asked
“I believe she is with Okoye and the Dora Milaji doing some training. Okoye had offered to doing some training with her. I think she wanted to learn a different way to fight, not the way she had been you know trained to do. Plus I think it has helped a lot with her ability to control her powers.” Bucky said.
“Yeah I joined in on that training yesterday. My god they are impressive. I wouldn’t want to get on the wrong side of them. I was so sore yesterday when I went to bed” Natasha replied
“You should have seen her Buck. She was passed on the bed when I got back.” Steve said laughing but he stopped once Natasha elbowed him in the stomach. Bucky laughed at the interaction between the two of them. He was happy that his best friend had found someone. He looked down at his watch and jumped up when he saw the time.
“I’ve got to run. Need to freshen up before this evening. I’ll see the two of you later with the rest?” Bucky said heading to the door.
“Good luck Buck!” Steve called as Bucky left the room and headed to his and y/n room to get ready.  When he got back to the room he hid the ring box in his case and locked it up before hopping into the shower. He hadn’t been this nervous about anything since he first asked her out all those years ago when they were in high school. As he was getting out of the shower he heard the room door open and close.
“James? Are you here?” Y/n called
“In here!” He called as he was drying himself off. He wrapped his towel around his waist and walked out of the bathroom. “How was training with the Dora?” He asked giving her a peck on the cheek.
“Fun and tiring. But I definitely learned a lot” she replied putting her bag down at the foot of the bed.
“What have you been up to this afternoon?” She asked turning back to face him.
“I spent the afternoon with Steve and Natasha. Now hop into the shower so we can get going” Bucky said pushing her towards the bathroom door.
“You got something special planed?” She asked
Bucky bit his lip and chuckled “Just get in the shower and then you will see” he replied as he opened the door to the bathroom.
“Would you at least tell me what I should wear? I need to have some idea of what we are doing so I know what to wear” she complained.
“Something nice. Now stop talking and get in the shower.” He said
“Alright alright I’m going!” She laughed closing the door and a few moments later he heard the shower begin to run. He went back to his bag and took the ring box out and slipped it into his pocket. If all went well by this evening he and y/n would be engaged. He began to go over in his head how he was going to ask her.
Y/N POV
You jumped out of the shower and wiped the steam off the mirror and looked at your reflection. It had now been two weeks since the chip had been removed and you felt more like yourself than you had in years. As you towel dried your hair your mind began to wander to what James could have planed for this afternoon and evening. He had been acting a little secretive the last few days, whispering with Steve and Nat and stoping when you entered the room. Even Nat had been acting funny, always smiling when she was talking to you and asking what you and James would be up to later, almost as if she knew something.
Shaking your head you left the bathroom with your towel wrapped around you and entered the bedroom you found James lying on the bed flipping through the copy of The Hobbit he had ‘borrowed’ from your collection of books. He looked up at you as you went to your wardrobe and began to look through the clothes you had brought with you. You found a nice dress you had bought last year when you and Nat had gone shopping together. You turned around and showed it to James.
“Since I have no idea where you are taking me or what we are doing. Is this suitable for what you have planned?” You asked.
“That’s perfect” He smiled
“Right, well I’ll get changed as fast as I can then I’m all yours for whatever adventure you have planned for us” you smiled as you headed back to the bathroom to get dressed and dry your hair. You looked at your reflection once more in the mirror and decided to add a little bit of light make up to complete the look, whatever James had planned you figured that a little bit of makeup would not hurt.
When you stepped out of the bathroom James face lit up when he saw you. He was looking at you the same way he did when he picked you up for your first date.
“You look breathtaking dove. Absolutely gorgeous.” James said getting up off the bed and stepped towards. He grabbed you by your hips and pulled you into him. You let out a little yelp and he gave you a quick but deep kiss and pulled away to look into your eyes.
“So, you ready?” He asked you with a twinkle in his eyes.
“As ready as I can be considering I have no idea what you have planned” you joked.
“All in good time my love all in good time” he said linking his arm into yours and leading you out of the room.
James was taking you on a nice walk around Wakanda showing you places that he hadn’t shown you yet. The two of you ended up near a beautiful lake. He walked over the edge of the lake under a tree that had beautiful flowers blooming in it. He stopped there and turned to you.
“This was one of my favourite spots to sit and reflect while I was recovering after they deprogrammed me.” He said with a shy smile.
“It’s beautiful James” you said looking up at the colourful flowers.
“I wanted to bring you here because it sort of reminded me of the tree in Central Park where we would have picnics.” James said
“I remember those. But this tree… I’ve never seen flowers with such rich colours” you said looking up at them again. “They are gorgeous.” You breathed out taking in the beauty of them plus with the setting sun the colours were even more vibrant. In the two weeks you had been here you had grown to fall in love with the sunsets here in Wakanda, they were definitely the most breathtaking ones you had ever seen, the colours seemed so much more vibrant and richer than any other sunset you had ever seen.
“Not as gorgeous as you.” He spoke softy “Y/N?” He asked and you looked back at him as he took your hands in his.
“What is it James?” You asked.
“You have been the best thing that has ever happened to me. You never fail to make me smile or laugh. And the fact that you choose to share your love with me makes me feel like won the lottery. Everyday with you is better than the last. And …” he took a deep breath in before continuing “I want to spend every day with you for the rest of my life.” He slowly dropped down onto one knee, your eyes widened in surprise. “Y/n I have loved you all my life and I want to spend the rest of my life loving you and being lobed by you. So, y/n. My turtledove will you marry me?” He asked with tears in his eyes as he pulled out a small black box out of his back pocket and opened it. Inside the box was a simple ring with a silver band and a beautiful stone set in it with a few smaller ones on either side.
You looked from James to the ring and back to James again. You felt tears collecting in your eyes at the sight before you.
“Yes” you said in a small voice. You cleared your throat and tried again. “Yes, of course I’ll marry you!” You said through the tears that had begun to fall from your eyes. James smiled wide as he took the ring out of the box and slipped it onto your finger, it fit perfectly. James stood back up and wrapped his arms around your waist around you and picked you up and spun you around.
“We’re getting married!” He screamed at the top of his lungs. You giggled as he spun you around and you grabbed his face with both of your hands and leaned down and gave him a kiss. “We’re getting married” you whispered against his lips. He placed you back down on the ground and looked at you with so much love in his eyes that you couldn’t help but give him another kiss.
“Was this what you, Steve and Nat have been whispering about for the last week?” You asked
“Yeah, I wanted it to be perfect” he smiled sheepishly.
“Well it definitely was” you said
“Plus this was a long time coming. I… was actually planning on asking you before, you know before I went off to war and everything. But I decided I didn’t want leave you newly engaged when I left.” He said. Your mind went back to the memory of you sitting on his mother’s living room couch when Becca had given you his leather jacket and his mum told you that he had been planning on proposing to you.
“Well you got there in the end. Anyway what’s 70 something years with cyro and forced control? We get to have a fresh start now. We can go anywhere we want and do whatever we want.” You smiled.
“We better get going dove?” He said looking at his watch.
“Huh?” You asked confused.
“Everyone is waiting for us. We are having a dinner to celebrate” he smiled
“You planned a dinner without knowing what my answer?” You asked.
“Call me optimistic. Plus it was Natasha’s idea, she was convinced that you were going to say yes” he said.
“So… is this dinner supposed to be a surprise or…” you asked as James linked his fingers in yours and led you back towards the palace.
“Uhh….”James said with a guilty look on his face.
“James! Did you ruin a surprise dinner that I am sure Nat has spent the last week organising with the help of Shuri?” You asked
“Yes…but…” James continued
“But what? You know if Nat finds out that you told me she is going to be pissed” You half joked.
“I know, but I figured I would warn you that we are having dinner to celebrate.” James said placing a kiss on your forehead. After leaving the lake you and Bucky made a detour to a fenced off field and said hi to his goats. Over the last two weeks you had paid a visit to them over several occasions and would give them lots of head scratches. James was still baffled by the fact that you wanted to see his goats, you just told him that you wanted to get to know the goats that helped him in his recovery in Wakanda.
As you made your way back to the palace you walked through the street market and watched as children ran through the streets, people doing shopping and playing music on a range of instruments. A few of the people smile and waved at James, remembering him from before. A sweet young girl came up to you and gave you a hand woven bracelet.
“A gift for the friend of Mr. Barnes” she said with a sweet smile and ran off before you could say anything. You looked at James with a confused look on your face. James just smiled and shrugged. This man… he had something up his sleeve and he was not going to tell you what else he had planned.
The two of you continued to make your way through the market and back to the place people came up to you and gave you one flower at a time until by the time you got to the palace steps you must have had about two dozen beautiful flowers of varying colours. As you climbed the steps you saw Nat and Steve waiting for the two of you. Nat was bouncing on the balls of her feet and it was obvious she was trying to hide her grin.
“Well!?!” She yelled when the you had James had gotten halfway up the steps. You had considered making her stew for the answer a bit but you were just too excited to tell her. You gripped the flowers in your right hand and lifted your left hand to show her the ring on your finger and gave her a huge smile.
“I said yes!” You shouted
“OMG!!! Congratulations.” She squealed as she ran down the steps and gave you a huge hug.
“Thanks Nat” you said returning the hug before she let go.
“I see you got the flowers” she said pointing to the bouquet in your hands.
“Was that your idea?” You asked
“No … that would be Steve’s idea” Nat said gesturing with her head to Steve who was still standing at the top of the steps.
“Mr. Grump over here thought that proposing under the tree would be enough. But we told him it needed to be big.” Nat said as the three of you made your way up the steps.
“Hey did you just call me a grump?” James asked.
“Yes… yes I did” Nat said
“Is this because I shot you that one time? Because I have apologised for that.” James said
“No, it’s because you have been a grump ever since I met you. The only time I have seen you crack a smile is around Steve and y/n.” Nat replied
“She has a point Buck. You are a bit closed off” Steve said giving James a hug. “Congratulations to both of you. I am so incredibly happy for both of you” Steve said as he gave you a hug as well.
“Thanks Steve. And the flowers were a great touch.” You said returning the hug.
“Right well we better head inside then.” Nat said. You looked at Nat and she still had that mischievous smile on her face. Just as you were about to ask her what exactly what was going on she pushed open the door and led the group inside and down a long hallway.
The group got to a set of wide and tall doors. Steve and Nat went in front of the doors and each took a handle. They pushed the doors open and gestured for the two of you to step inside. As you stepped inside you were met with loud cheers and shouts.
“CONGRATULAGTIONS!!” a group of people shouted. Wanda came rushing up to you and gave you a huge hug. Over her shoulder you saw that everyone was here. Sam, Peitro, Bruce (who had stayed in Wakanda to work with Shuri on some projects), Tony, Clint and Yelena.  T’Challa, Shuri, Ayo, Okoye and Queen Ramonda were also there.
“Oh my god you guys are all here! When did you get here?” You asked giving everyone a hug.
“We got here this morning. It was like that movie with the spies having to hide” Wanda said
“Mission Impossible?” Tony asked
“Jason Bourne?” Clint asked
“I don’t know, but it was fun sneaking in and making sure you didn’t see us.” Wanda smiled wide. “Show me the ring, I want to see it” she said taking your left hand in both of hers.
“Oh it’s beautiful, you did a good job in choosing it Barnes” she said looking at the ring on your finger.
“Well I had a lot of help with that” James said looking at Steve and Nat. “Now let’s all sit down and have that dinner that everyone helped me organise” James continued wrapping his arm around your shoulder and leading you towards the long table behind the group. Everyone followed and took their seats. The rest of the night was filled with lots of amazing food and laughter.
For the first time in a long time you were surround by friends and people that you loved. You no longer had to look over your shoulder and worry that your past was going to find you. You were free from all of that and you and James were engaged. You couldn’t wait to see what the future was going to hold.
I absolutely loved this beautiful Image Edit of Wakanda Forever from the ship of the characters of Attuma and Okoye together but above all because I love the idea that in future Black Panther movies we can see Attuma and Okoye fall in love and become a Canon couple if they ask me. Since I am aware that they are going to make a series of the Midnight Angels, you know the squad that Shuri formed during the movie that in fact they also used the suit that Okoye will wear when he defeated Attuma with a kick in his chest that by the way literally took him flying out of the Ship at the end of the movie
Tumblr media
It's beautiful Image Edit by Attuma and Okoye is not mine and the credits are not for me since in reality it's Image Edit belongs to an incredible and beautiful story on Wattpad and that's why I'm letting you know that right here I'm going to leave the link of the real creator on Wattpad
Second in Command, First In My Heart Ch 2 Teaser
“Have I been a topic for you Ayo?” Aneka glanced at the woman while pouring herself a glass.
“Well just as your eyes have found me this week, I make sure my ears do the same. It is important to know what our ranks are capable of and who will carry it out.”
“Ah, ever sharp Dora Ayo, this is why you are ranked with our great General Okoye.” Ayo turned her head away as her smile grew. It was nice to know that Aneka was not the only nervous one.
“You flatterer.” Aneka found her smile enchanting as the women smiled down looking at her meal before looking up at her again. “I am curious though, sister.”
“And what would you like me to do with your curiosity?” She asked with more confidence.
random starter for @hzsokovia:
The General had a smile on her face, albeit not one that looked like she meant it. She poured tea into two cups and offered one towards the Baron.
“So tell me, Zemo, what are your plans for the future? And why do I hear that the White Wolf has some sort of.. relationship with you? A serious one, at that.” She drilled her piercing gaze into him, one that would make a lesser man tell nothing but the truth from seeing it alone.
My Universe Update! Ch. 5...
Attuma has an issue with coddling her and she hates that. Okoye has an issue trying to be too independent and he hates that.
The foundation of Attuma and Okoye’s relationship
“I can do it myself.”
“I know you can. I’m well aware that you’re capable, but I am here now. you do not have to do anything yourself anymore.”
“I don’t need your help.”
“I don’t want you to need my help. I need you to want my help.”
“I’m not ready. I’m not worthy.”
“I will be here when you finally realize that you are.”
“Thank you for everything.”
“I promised you I would do anything.”
“You are perfect for me.”
“And you for me.”
Drawn to you Ch. 3 teaser
Dark or Yandere Attuma x Okoye Attuma finally gets rid of W'Kabi though it is not the way he pictured happening. With of course a little bit of help.
Tumblr media
Content warning: Blood. Body disposal. He reached for her, pressing a warm hand to her thigh caressing it through the light sheet only to stop when she shifted in her sleep. Attuma got to his feet, picking up his phone from the lamp stead while leaving the room quietly. Dialing a number, Attuma stayed quiet listening to shuffling on the over the side of the receiver. “It’s late.” Namora’s voice was groggy, not bothering to say hello and hoped the call was an accident. Though she sat up in her bed already trying to force herself awake. Attuma never called for anything, so to see his name on her phone so late it had to be something. ‘Yeah, I know.” There was a moment of silence before Attuma continued. “But there has been an issue I had to take care of. And I may need your help now.” Attuma admitted. He heard Namora shuffling more over the phone, cutting her off before she could even bombard him with questions. He gave her Okoye’s address to meet him here. Attuma was dressed in a long sleeve black shirt with black trousers. Black latex gloves fitting his large hands in a snug like fashion.  His wet hair tied up in a bun, moving quickly around the house grabbing cleaning supplies and bags. The vibration of his phone broke his concentration with an arm full of items, he read Namora’s text quickly telling him to open the door. Attuma held the door open for Namora who glared at him in passing glance. Exhaustion showed in her eyes, though she was dressed similarly like Attuma. Black leather jacket fashioned with dark blue jeans with black heels. W’Kabi’s covered body was not hard to miss, the large lump underneath the pile of blankets looked ridiculous even if the stain of dried blood could be seen. “Are you fucking serious right now, Attuma?” “Namora, can you atleast keep your voice down.” Attuma keeps his features neutral, no matter how much scolding he would take by Namora or even Namor would make him sway. Okoye was more than he could describe with mere words. Namora shot a glowering look in response to which Attuma simply sighed,”Okoye is asleep upstairs and I am not trying to add to the unfortunate impression her ex-husband left on her. Attuma didn’t buckle underneath Namora’s gaze though simply nodded in the direction of W’Kabi’s body. Namora already knew who was underneath there though part of her hoped that maybe Attuma didn’t kill the Border Tribe businessman that approved their deals with Wakanda. That just maybe that Attuma wasn’t possibly seeing this man’s wife as well. She hoped it was someone else or someone that wasn’t important. Moving passed him, she slowly kneeled by the body pulling the blankets back to peek only to throw it back in place. “I fucking should of known when Namor remarked that you seemed to like Wakanda more because you were staying here. And I specifically recall that wasn’t your attitude towards this place in the beginning-.” she snapped. “Are you done?” “Fuck no, you should hear this since Aj K'uk'ulkan believed you were ready beyond just being juntúul ku taasik u kíimile'-” (One that brings death.) “Okoye has been the one this entire time that has been the voice in most, if not all partnerships not-... him” Attuma’s tone had become snappy, normally he allowed Namora to lecture him and he always followed in tow of her words. But at that moment, his patience was already thin and time was becoming more of an issue the longer W’Kabi stayed in that house. “Namora, I made my choice, it is just the way this happened was not only my fault but his too. “ Namora’s gaze fell back onto the stained portion of the blanket, “Does she love the way you love her?” “Yes, she does.” Attuma stated breathlessly. Their getaway togethers were always timeless, yet felt so natural as if they were truly married already. Bright smiles that graced her lips that met her eyes. He wanted that reality but not just in the shadows, he knew that she wanted too but barriers of traditions.
“And yet you mentioned how you don’t want her to hear us. Did she see you do this?” Attuma couldn’t find his voice, that pain look that flashed in his mind merely made him nod in response. His brows knitted lightly, trying to shake off that memory. “You are the reason why I still keep lime and shovel. And even tarps in my car.” she muttered. “Go back your car into the garage and look for a bag in my trunk by my spare tire. And matter of fact you’ll be on brain duty while I put the tarp in your car. “ Namora pointed at him, taking the supplies he had out of Attuma’s arms. “Thanks Ora.” Namora gave a disgruntled noise in response, mumbling to herself how Attuma  was still a fucking idiot for this. Even her glare softened at the nickname he seemed to only pull out and use whenever she was truly upset. The two worked silently once Attuma did as Namora was instructed and popped the trunk for her,  he came back inside seeing that Namora took everything out W’Kabi’s pockets lining them on the floor. She is already taking the chip out of his phone for Attuma, jewelry already in the pile as well. A long practice that seemed second nature to her still, Attuma wasn’t the only one that held a hand with bringing death to protect their homeland. With ease Attuma rolled up the body and lifted him over his shoulder to carry him to the garage where the trunk of his car was open. Namora went to work cleaning the stains up quickly, gathering an empty bag to dispose of what she cleaned with. And tossing any of his personal items in another. She set aside a bag of knives for Attuma to take just incase. “Don’t throw away his phone or jewelry, I want to dispose of those myself” grunted out once he knew Namora was behind. “Stop being weird.” “How is it weird that I want to help dispose of his personal items?” Attuma scoffed watching Namora toss the bag full of stain cloths in the trunk. Namora studied Attuma for a long time, ultimately shoving the small bag into Attuma’s hands. In trade he gave her his phone to keep for a few hours.  “One more thing, if you can stop by and check on her for me, Ora. If I am taking too long and I won’t ask you anything else, I swear. “ Attuma gave hopeful eyes even if Namora gave him a deadpan expression in response. “Fine. But I will not cover you if K'uk'ulkan begins to ask questions about this and you. Where are you going now?” Attuma snapped the trunk close, giving a slight nod, “I don’t expect you too but thank you.  I’m heading to the sea.” “She keeps a spare key by the hollow out rock near the front door, just using it to lock up. I know I am working against the sun now.” Attuma said, reaching to pat shoulder in thanks for helping while he passed her. Namora watched Attuma drive off into the night, closing the garage before she too followed suit. She truly hoped Okoye was worth playing house with for so long only to make a drastic choice like this. Chacc had to be looking out for Attuma for the thunderstorm had simmered down enough, making the waters tolerable enough to take a boat ride through into the night. Attuma drove in silence, his mind whirling about the fact that Okoye was no longer married. And this would be the last time that either of them would have to see W’Kabi. He kept driving until near the borders that were close to Talokan’s border, using one of their own boats that had been their commute before arriving. Attuma gathered W’kab's items and his body to take down to the pier. Within minutes Attuma was already soaked while untying the boat and raising the anchor to get the boat out of port.
“  why do you keep saying that?  you’re not alone.  i’m standing right here.  ” (Okoye)
“I guess it’s because ever since Pietro died, I have felt alone. He was my other half, my twin,” Wanda replied softly, her hands fidgeting slightly. “I don’t mean it to be rude. I just feel it inside, that no matter how many people are around me, I can’t help but feel alone.”
