me and two of my best friends of 11 years went to a artsy café for my birthday. on our way back to the subway, my friend noticed some interesting jewelry at an iranian craftswoman's shop. we went in and immediately spotted nice handmade ceramic dishes. and my friends bought me a beautiful yellow bowl decorated with fishes 😭

The way dreams have like, real places looking or functioning completely different than in real life yet always stay the same in the dream world makes me believe in alternative universes

#i have this one where there's an ceramics shop in the middle of a street in my hometown that has never existed to my knowledge #yet is beloved in the dreams #and there's this apartment building that in my dreams got a small mall or whatever on the bottom floor of all my dreams #which isn't true to real life at all and rarely if ever have impact on the dreams but it's always there #and an alternative fashion store/club thing that shows up where there's a bank in real life and always has been #not to mention what my work looks like #well this is rationally probably just my memory of a past dream influencing my current dream but STILL #fruktstund

DAWN WARDEN

Handbuilt mason stained porcelain, with hand painted slip, glaze, gold + palladium luster, and underglaze accents.

Post-fire details include epoxy sculpt and paint for tail’s length (excluding bauble), as well as lacquer for added vibrancy to face.

This piece is a companion to the Dusk Warden, and a part of my 4-piece Celestial Wards series! In contrast to the Dusk Warden, Dawn Warden is a mischievous scamp; wearing no mask because he doesn't care, and embodying the relentlessness of morning as opposed to the calm of night.

I'm really proud of this critter! It was my first time working with porcelain for sculpture, as well as my first time using mason stains, and I love the way it came out!

This one's eyes follow you extremely well, more so than Dusk Warden, so looking at it in real life hammers in the slightly uncanny expression on the face.
