I'm sorry for being so quiet recently. I assure you I'll be back and that all my wips and outlines will be finished. (yes even Ghost!Erik, although I'm not making any promises as to when)

I'm as enthusiastic about YR and Wilmon as I was a year ago and I doubt that's going to change anytime soon. It's just that the holiday season has hit me harder than I hoped it would, and so my writing time has been mostly taken up by blankly staring at the screen and then being surprised when the alarm goes off an hour or two later.

It's the first time in eight years that I'm celebrating without my soulmate, and missing them and our two angels is especially hard right now.

I have a very active support network though and I know things will get better. Right now I'm just ... super lonely while at the same time being surrounded by too many people who mean a bit too well.

On a happier note I'm over 15k into the final chapter of Faroe Gone and still in Tórshavn, with only about 1k being stuff from the outline, so it's going to be a very, very long final chapter.

Also the next chapter of ALaWHEO has theoretically reached posting length about a month ago, but I really want them to actually get inside the palace and not just have a 4k car ride where nothing happens. So uh ... yeah.

Also, also I've been valiantly resisting the urge to write Kings Wilmon's first state visit to movie-rwrb's London snippets. It would be a good distraction, but also I'm not sure it would be any other levels of good. I haven't even finished reading the book.

Also, also, also my muse insists it'd have to be Phillip and James III's pov, and I suspect that'd top even The Getaway's level of self-indulgence, if that's even possible.

Shocked by the things I learn about my classmates

Casserole is a very loose term for dishes baked in a large deep dish, and we are interpreting it as “if you considered what you made a casserole then it’s a casserole” because it’s such a broad genre of food

Eggtober 23 A Cube of Egg Casserole (Featuring Bacon, Ham, and Tomato) Clip Studio Paint, Gouache Brush, Gouache Blender, and a new tool, the Pointillism Brush. 15 colors, 1 hour. This was a friend’s suggestion! I didn’t even know Egg Casserole was a thing, but now I want some! Basically a quiche with much less fuss. Speaking of Quiche, I do like my piece from yesterday a bit better today. Depresso Espresso makes things look worse than they are. But my mood improved a little today. I like the results on this much better too. I wanna bite into some nice, fluffy, spongy egg and get some yummy veggies (or, well, tomato is a fruit...) and meat and just... enjoy. Just a little eggy treat for me. As always, big thanks to @quezify for organizing Eggtober. And also for the very nice tags he leaves. Makes me feel better whether I’m in a bad mood or not. Big sweetheart energy. Huge positive force. Hard not to be in a better mood with all the nice things he says on my eggs and on other peoples’ eggs. 😊

"Parents have contested books for decades, but the number of challenges has exploded since the fall of 2020. Teachers and librarians, who are already stretched thin, are on the frontlines, facing the ire of parents. The American Library Association invites librarians to report these challenges to books, for their record-keeping. 'In the past, we received a couple of reports a week,' says Deborah Caldwell-Stone, director of the ALA’s office of intellectual freedom. 'That has accelerated to four or five reports a day. On some days, we’re getting a dozen reports.'

"...One part of the playbook is for conservative groups to arm parents with tools to march into schools and challenge books. Moms for Liberty, for instance, runs a website called BookLooks.org that offers 'book reports' about thousands of books which parents can bring to school board meetings or their child’s principal. 

"For instance, they can print out a report about Toni Morrison’s The Bluest Eye, which contains a list of concerns: inflammatory racial and religious commentary; sexual activities including sexual assault and  molestation; alcohol use. Many will use these reports word for word to call for it to be pulled from shelves. 'Once the challenges are on the table, they’re discussed at school board meetings and community events by people, some of whom haven’t even read the books,' says Rich Thomas, HarperCollins’s executive director of children’s book publishing."

idk if you wanna talk abt it but you posted abt liking turning red and it made me remember when the movie came out. 1 of the things that made me mad wasn't the movie (it was great) but the amount of reviewers talking over us and talking abt how "unrealistic" the relationship between mei and her mom was... like... everyone in this room knows ur a cis white man + this movie was not made for u it was made for us hope this helps
