Word Of Honor fic idea where Chengling was born with the ablilty to see ghosts. It doesn't really change much with the plot, but it does change some of Chengling'ss modivations and aspirations.

Since he grew up seeing ghosts, and the tragic ways they died, he's always been afraid of killing someone and having them haunt him and knowing this his father and family let his martial arts practices fall to the wayside. His family and parents always believed him, since he used to play with an "imaginary friend" that looked and acted just like the late Rong Xuan. Through Chengling, Rong Xuan was able to send a message not to trust Zhao Ling and to hide their piece of Glazed Armor. After passing on that message, Rong Xuan passes on.

Chengling spends a lot of his childhood doing that, helping ghosts pass on, and normally he can judge a person based on what the local ghosts tell him about them, or if they have any ghosts haunting a person, then what they say.

He meets an begger one day, and Chengling can tell that his man must of had a hard life, since he has a couple of ghosts haunting him. There is a pretty young woman that looks just like a princess, and shes very short at him about how he's letting himself waste away like this, and there is another handsome young man trying his best to placate her, but also pleading with the begger to please try and live better, or go home. There are a couple other ghosts around him, young and all wearing a type of assassin clothing, none of them seem hostile though, and they all seem sad towards the begger. Not that the begger can hear or see them. The handsome young man is Qin Jiuxiao and the woman is Princess Jingan, the rest of the ghosts are some of the deciples of The Four Seasons Villa

When he meets Wen Kexing, he's a little afraid at first, mainly because there are hungery eyes watching the man in the shadows, and a few ghosts skitter away from him, calling him the Lord of Ghost Valley, but for all the death the man has caused, there aren't any ghosts personally haunting him besides a young couple, who are just straight up worried about him. At night, Wen Kexing's parents console him, talking about how they were friends with his father, and were sorry to see him pass on, and they tell him all about the hardships Wen Kexing has faced in the Ghost Valley, but also some good memories they have of their son and his adoptive daughter

After the Mirror Lake Sect burns down, all his family give him a parting good bye, but only his eldest brother stays with him to help him nagivate the world and promises to pass on once he knows his baby brother is safe and well.

The ghosts mainly allow Chengling to have some background info on other characters in the novel, to scout ahead for him, and to help teach him some other martial arts skills. They also help him warn his master and uncle just in time to save Gu Xiang and Cao Weining because that was bullshit those babies deserved to live!!!!!

They also act as a greek chorus to Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu awful shameless romance and flirting

Villain quirk: Fierce Snake - they can shapeshift into a full fierce snake or only incorporate the animal senses (which includes venom, highly sensitive skin, improved chemosensory...) on their human form.

The drawback is the short time you have on the full form, or when you are using more then one sense.

You are the ambicious type, with a indeed charming nature. A person that woudn't hesitate on sacrificing everything and yourself to reach the main goal.

But you are sure such extreme attitude won't be needed at all, due to your clever and logic brain. One thing, out of all that you are sure, is to overanalyse each move, every little step is calculated.

Shoto is a highly rated pro hero, on his prefered area. He isn't the biggest fan of the front line, the battle and the caos. Instead, he choose to live in the shadows, working successively suceed stealth missions.

Todoroki is the best type of spy, he is polite, cool-headed and extremely smart. The man is even more effective than Hawks was, he is changing this behalf of the heroe society to be more straight to the point, functional.

However, is not always that easy to find the needed information. After all those years, the company decided to try again an old strategy.

"All i have to do is go there and say i want to join? Sir, with all the respect, but-" Even being the CEO, Shoto is always respectful with his co-workers, even giving them power and space to desagree with him and openly point it out.

There were rumors that the villains are planning something big against the top heroes, however they can't get even a small clew. All the pre-existing methods had failed on them and the team suggested to Shoto to infilter, alike his precursor.

It's a big and, on Shotos concepition, dumb step to make. The villains woudn't feel on the same trick two times, would they? "So many time has passed since then..." His co-worker argument was valid too. "You can easily scape if it goes wrong." Obviously he can. He would be the number one if wasn't for his area of action.

He is scared, but doesn't let it show on his expression when he agree. After all the discuss, they get out of the company with a well thought plan, step by step.

On the other side, the delinquents were also working on their main scheme. They wanted a war, as the LOV once did, but they needed a strong weapon to realize such, they wanted something better than the nomus, maybe an item to potentialize their individualitys. Still, they didn't have a clear direction.

Mei is the big brain, the scientist. Is she an inventor from the heroes side? Yes. Does she give a single fuck to the motivation besides just creating insane "babys"? No.

And she isn't getting anywhere with her "basic creations", in their masters word. All the villains can do by now is mess with hero society as much as possible and wait to their weapon to come to life.

Shoto is getting his job done. He putted himself into the ghettos and patiently waited. "Hey, hey, hey! What do we have here?" The elastic masquerade man curls on the walls next to Sho. "How can i serve you, your majesty?" He sneers, while the hero keep his face emotionless.

Todoroki then explains his will to join the villains, with the excuse of the hate of his on father and all the abuse he did to him, that part was not enterely a lie. He even managed to split out that he never wanted to be a hero, only doing for parental pressure.

The criminal listened with boredom filling his face, taking Shoto inside.

"Oh, if it's not our royal highness! Tell your dad i said hi." The Mastermind proceeds to talk by the moment Shoto walks in.

"Hello, sir." He started politely, lowering his head to show respect. "I'm sorry to interrupt, but i came here to offer my help to your crew."

Again, he gave the same excuse he'd gave minutes ago.

"I see. But don't think that i'm going to accept a filthy rat like you that easily... those who don't learn with the history are complete fools. You know are i'm talking about, don't you?" His voice was so low, barely audible and it send shivers on Shotos spine.

"Yes, sir, but i'm willing to prove my worthy." Todoroki could hear his voice cracking, the moment isn't bringing good memories.

His father was the one who used to put him in such a humiliating position.

"You can start by begging. If you want it, you will do anything, is that correct?" He watches as Sho silently gets on his knees. "And stop with that 'sir' thing. 'Master' will do." A big smirk appears

"Yes, master." He was starting to feel disgusted by himself, but didn't back off. "Please, let me join this league. I'm begging, Master, please." Hate on the most pure form runs throught his veins while he stay still, looking to the ground as it is the most interesting thing on earth.

"Tsc. I don't know if that erection you getting me is enough. What do you think, Y/N?" You suddenly emerges from the back of the empty dark room and joins in.

"Give the guy a chance, if he is bad we can just cut his head off." You see Shoto fighting his urge to look up and see your face, and it steals a laugh of your part.

"As you seem like having so much fun with this worm here, now he is under your wing. Test him as much as you want and if he fucks everything up, i'll blame you. Understood?" The Mastermind now shows that he's harsh to his allies to.

"Understood!" The man walks away, letting you and Shoto solve this new problem you both got into.

"Shoto is enough."

"Okay, call me Y/N, i don't need all this formality that Master likes... get up." you order and he hops up in a second.

"Endeavors son is under my wing... a bit ironic, don't you think?" laughing to yourself, he eyes you as you clingy around his shoulder.

You try to play mad, but end up laughing with him. Shoto had freezed you just to mess around, and is now using his quirk to creat a beard on your face.

"I do." He complains, moving away to have a good vision of the scene he created.

"Or what?" He teases.

"You know i can do it by myself, but i'm giving you the chance to redeem before i kill you." The playful tone don't make it less ominous.

"Make me." As the words drop out his mouth, you shift into a snake and get out of the ice, shaped to your human form.

You crawl till him, turning back into your normal form and quickly choking him. "Now we are talking."

"Any last words before i make you regret?" Your nails are sinking on his soft skin.

•They both know how BAD the world can treat you. They are both “geges” and seniors who experienced what real life is like and should be BITTER because of it ; but they remain calm. They remain this beacon of light to people around them. They still have that child like wonder in them that makes them so endearing to fans.

•When you see Xie Lian in images, he really comes of as an Angel and a soft person who never experienced anything bad. This is not the case. There are a lot of things that happened in the book that made me wonder how he managed to come out stronger. His Faith. His belief in people is just astounding. At one point Xie Lian even tried to hang himself to death after seeing his parents do the same, but he can’t die. He is a god. An immortal. GG is also seen as this soft gege who really is- hard as steel on the inside. Not only 227, but every challenge since he became an idol to now only made him stronger. Yes, he is our cute bunny, but he is so much more than that. You can see the snark once in a while especially that “jiayou” / “how would I know” in the recent Qixi Festival video.

•GG dotes on Web and we all can see it. He lets Web get away with anything— jokes, hitting him and a lot of things that we cannot see on camera. The way I see it, GG looks at Web like he can’t believe he’s real. He supports Web in all his passions and genuinely tries to learn some of them. Xie Lian on the other hand dotes on Hua Cheng too. At the start, when he didn’t know Hua Cheng’s true form, he defended him and said that he is good. Don’t attack him.

•During the live broadcast - Cao Yu’s commemoration, GG said : But in life we encounter many choices, people say there are no right and wrong choices, only the choice most appropriate for us. But then, when one commits to a choice, there will be many voices around that jump out and judge our right and wrong. This type of situation is similar to Wei Wuxian— the idea of choices and no one knowing what is really right and wrong. In the Novel, Xie Lian started as this Crown Prince, loved by many. He had this straight path to what is right and wrong. But things happen and he finds himself even stealing. It’s the wrong ( or is it? ) decision, but it’s his. Xiao Zhan on the other hand, to outsiders may seem like wrong decisions. From not “controlling” his fans earlier, not speaking out and excessive apologies— whether those are right or wrong “decisions”, IT’S HIS.

•They are both artists! Very skilled in Calligraphy and had formal lessons with it Art.

•They are meant for greatness no matter wha misfortune happens. Xie Lian ascended Three times, even with his shackles and to the end, there is no doubt that he is a strong Martial Art god. I see this with Xiao Zhan too. He had his desk job and this ordinary life but he really wasn’t mean for that, so he became and idol. Then he wanted to Act, loved it, even if his own management company did not believe he could carry a whole ass drama as a lead- he went for it. The Untamed happened. Then this issue with the Antis, but I’m pretty sure, he will come out of this better than ever. If the trending spot in his roseonly live is any indication. Let’s see if the same happens on his birthday. I guess what I’m saying is, you really can’t put a good person down.

Mama Lilith is something none of us knew we were getting and ever less of us knew that we needed. I love Mama Lilith (for all the reasons I’ve stated on other posts, the key point being I liked that it showed being Mother doesn’t mean you become weak/soft or that you lose who you are. It’s an addition not a replacement). I love that how quickly she becomes Mama Lilith, and if tragic circumstances hadn’t happened (or if we look to a post Part 4 where Adam is resurrected and growing up), I genuinely believe not only would Lilith be a good and solid parent, I think she and Adam would be extremely close (perhaps not Gloria and Manny close, but very close), and the idea of the two of them being this power team in Pandemonium is a glorious yet sweet image.

But right, to my actual point. 

It’s not just that Lilith embraces being Adam’s mother immediately, or that she immediately loves him, it’s the fact she does really well with it. Lilith, shock upon shock, is good with babies (though perhaps not that much of a shock considering how good she was with Lucy, how good she was with the students at Baxter High, how good she is with Sabrina for that matter). We see Lilith rocking Adam, we see her singing to him, we see he tickling him, holding him close, we see all these affectionate things. But, within a day (or so. I think it’s the same day as the birth that the Plague Kings arrive, but I might be wrong as time isn’t always too clear on CAOS) Lilith is already calling him ‘Little Adam’, which is an adorable moniker to give him, speaking to him the way parents do speak to their babies ‘Did you hear that little Adam?’, ‘Adam and I accept’ etc directly involving him in the conversation. And then when she tells him ‘we’re gonna be safe here’ (which in itself tears at my heart, because Hilda and Zelda have MADE LILITH FEEL SAFE. She feels that both she and her son are safe, meaning not only was she hyper aware she wasn’t safe in Hell and that they won’t be safe if Lucifer finds them, but that she has such trust in the Spellmans and the coven that their offer of a home has made her feel actually safe. That is a very big deal), she coos down at him as she speaks, and then she does this little bobble with her hands as she holds him. Look: 

The way she bounces/shakes him playfully, yet gently so he isn’t hurt, is so loving and affectionate. It could be considered such a throwaway moment, but ti says so much. It says how much she loves him, but also how comfortable she is with loving him. She’s bouncing him, she’s being playful with him, she’s instinctively doing things to make him smile, and my heart is full at that thought. 

I mean, she’s playful with him in general (and considering the fact we have never seen Lilith be genuinely playful, without some manipulation or murder attached to it, is a big thing in itself). The way she punctuates each word with a smile and intents to boop him on the last one (which she does...and then he bites her. Playfully. I fully believe Adam biting Lilith is the same as when you tickle your cat and then they grab your hand and bite the shit out of it; they could easily tear your hand off if they wanted, but they don’t because they love you and they’re playing)

But just look at how happy and comfortable and content she is being this playful with him:

Lilith is already so completely at home with being Adam’s Mother and she’s loving every second of it. And I don’t think she expected it anymore than we did. And, had tragedy not struck, this is what we would have more of, even as Adam grew; you just get the vibe from this moment that Lilith would, despite her reputation, be a very involved Mother (I think, personally, she and Zelda would be quite similar with parenting skills, in that they would be officially the tough parent, but at heart be the one that the child runs to and the one who is secretly soft and will tear down cities to keep them safe) and had she gotten to live at the Academy with Adam for sixteen years, you would have seen her playing regular games with him as much as teaching him about Hell. Finding fun ways to hone his magic and powers, at the same time as making sure he knows how to use a dagger. Lilith and her little prince would be a delight to see. I mean, you even see when Lilith says ‘Queen Mother’ that she doesn’t see that as a step down fom Queen, she’s proud of it. 

As my mum said (when she was in agony watching what happened in episode 5) ‘She loved that little boy so much’ (my Mum was saying it as proof of how terrified Lilith was of Lucifer and of how much she’d suffered that she’d rather that little boy she loved so much be dead then suffer as she did, even though it broke her heart)

A while back you posed the question as to why Zelda claimed Faustus had ‘Herod like tendencies’ and that was why she feared for the babe. I’ve been wracking my brain ever since and thought perhaps during her time as midwife she witnessed something that scared her. Maybe in his role as High Priest he attended a birth and advised a father to dispose of their female child? Idk, it’s the only explanation I can think of. Thoughts?

That’s a fascinating idea/theory/headcanon! I love that explanation, and I think it’s completely possible that Zelda witnessed Faustus commit (or order) some violent act to be carried out against a female child that caused her to say this line---it’s just never revealed in canon what, exactly, she’s referring to. 

Truly, I think the line, “King Herod-like tendencies when it comes to baby girls,” was just sloppy writing on the part of CAOS, because it’s not supported by canon that Faustus has murdered any female children prior to the speaking of this line. 

I say prior, because later on in the series, he intends to sacrifice Judas and Judith to get the time egg, but that hasn’t happened yet at this point.

But literally any moment in the show can be brushed off with “it’s bad writing,” so, I’d rather try to explain why the reference doesn’t work, and then offer my two cents as to what we can headcanon to make it work. 

(Please keep in mind I haven’t read the novels or comics, so these thoughts are purely inspired by the televised version of CAOS.)

What do we know about pre-canon Faustus, specifically with regard to children? We know that he knew about Prudence’s mother being pregnant, but wanted nothing to do with either of them. He refused to marry Prudence’s mother, which resulted in her suicide. Even after the mother’s death, he refused to acknowledge Prudence as his own, and raised her as if she were an orphan, rather than admit he had a child out of wedlock.

This is all pretty shitty, but definitely not Herod-like. In the Bible, King Herod of Judea orders the execution of all male children under the age of two. According to theologists, that would’ve been anywhere between 14,000 and 144,000 (!) children. He does this specifically because he sent the Magi to Bethlehem so that they would report back to him on the birth and location of Jesus Christ. The Magi, however, are warned not to do Herod’s bidding, and never return to Jerusalem to give Herod the information he wants. 

Once Herod realizes the Magi have betrayed him, he orders all the male children in Bethlehem who were born within the last two years (i.e., any child that could possibly be Jesus) to be killed.

But wait! That’s not all! Herod also had three of his own sons put to death, as well as several of his wives. So Herod didn’t just kill other people’s children; he killed his own. 

Side note: “When it was heard that, as part of the slaughter of boys up to two years old, Herod, king of the Jews, had ordered his own son to be killed, he [the Emperor Augustus] remarked, ‘It is better to be Herod’s pig than his son’. This was a reference to how Herod, as a Jew, would not kill pigs, but had three of his sons, and many others, killed. (source)

Now, getting back to CAOS, Zelda says Faustus has King Herod-like tendencies when it comes to baby girls, but that doesn’t work as a reference, because Herod specifically targeted male children, not female children. If you recall my earlier post about this, someone argued that Zelda meant “Herod-like tendencies” separate from the gender of the child, meaning that Faustus had Herod-like tendencies when it came to any children.

But this simply doesn’t make any sense!! There’s nothing in canon to support that Blackwood has killed any children before Zelda speaks this line. If this were true, he would’ve had Prudence killed right away; he wouldn’t have raised her as an orphan, knowing her true identity would cause problems for him later on. As a matter of course, he would’ve had her murdered so as not to complicate the inheritance of his legitimate children.

So, now, here we get to what I think you wanted me to talk about from the very beginning: 

HEADCANON TIME!!!

Now that I’ve explained why the line doesn’t make any sense, here is my theory: Blackwood has killed children before, or else ordered them killed, it just isn’t talked about in canon. Like you said, Zelda was a midwife, so it’s likely she was privy to most of the infant births and deaths in the coven. 

What if Blackwood ordered Zelda to kill the babies? Not directly, but through inaction? It’s implied that Zelda can’t lose a child. It’s not that she’s just so skilled that they never die; it’s actually a magical gift of hers, that not a single baby will ever be lost if she’s the one delivering it. 

So, what if Blackwood was in charge of which women she helped and which she turned away? What if Blackwood made her refuse to deliver certain babies, especially if the parents already knew it was going to be a girl? So it isn’t that Zelda directly killed them, or Faustus directly killed them, it’s that she was forced not to care for that particular mother and child, and the rest was “up to the (Dark) Lord?”

That would explain why Zelda and Hilda, as midwives, are the only ones who know about Blackwood’s “King Herod-like tendencies.” Zelda says the line as if she doesn’t need to remind Hilda about it, so this is something they’ve talked about before. 

Lacking a canon explanation, I think both of our headcanons have a lot merit!

Or: The Signers Reimagined With Influences from Eastern Asian Mythology

Introduction

In the mountain valley of New Domino, there live some of the most powerful beings in this world. The path there is treacherous as the road is windy and a heavy fogs covers over it like a veil, and the large pillar like mountains stand tall and old even at a distance. The nearby villages and towns know better than to wonder close to it, and elders warn their children of the dangers—the spirits and the demons—that inhabit the valley. However, if one were to go and manage a way on that road and through the fog, there are wonders to behold—for gods and heavenly beings walk on the earth in that valley and call it home.

Jack, the Dragon Prince of Hearth

In the valley, the bowels of the earth are found in the hidden great lake, and it is there that the royal family of the sea go to nest their newborns. It is rare that a lord or lady of the Dragon Palace leaves for that place, perhaps once every five hundred years, but each one of them seeks the fiery nest under that great lake. For millennia, the princes and princesses of the dragon king have been hatched there, and it was no different for Jack, the youngest of the royal brood. Yet he is different. For the fires of the earth had imbued him with a power so unlike a being of the sea. His heart was made a hearth, and so his soul burns, the power within him seen only once before.

Unwelcomed by the Dragon Palace, Jack's home has always been that great lake, and its very water only strengthens him, nurturing him like a mother. He's grown beautiful over the past few centuries, and though his kind stays away from him, other creatures of the sea flock to him, mermaids, naiads, and minor gods among them. Luna & Leo, Immortals of the Ancient Fairy Dragon

They were traveling with their parents, rich and intelligent people, through the country side in the dead of winter. The ground was frozen, and no flowers bloomed. Nothing should be growing. And yet they came across a peach tree that bore two pink fruits, just ready to be eaten. Leo saw it and wanted them, and so he climbed that tree onto a branch, throwing one down to his sister. How long ago was it since they arrived? It's hard to tell; since their arrival, neither twin has grown, but no doubt that more than one lifetime has passed.

Akiza, Cultivator of the Knowledge of Healing

The first mortal in decades to ever safely arrive at the high mountain valley of Neo Domino, Akiza came to live among the gods and heavenly beings in order to study the art of healing. Since birth, she had powers beyond human understanding, and that was why she left her home at a young age, seeking the secrets that can only be taught by ethereal beings and watching them. When she arrived, she made a new home under giant boulders held together by the thick roots of a single cao huan dan tree. Like the peaches the immortal twins ate, Akiza arrived right as the ginseng fruit of the tree ripened, crying like newborns, and she ate all thirty of them, granting her immortality.

Now, with such longevity and power, Akiza dedicates her time in cultivation and in the art of healing. Her skills and knowledge have gained much attention from both deities and other immortals. Many fear her, but some have become her friend, guiding her as she takes her step towards ascension. Whispers say she will one day have a place in the heavenly court, but it would not be for a long time as Akiza feels that she is not yet worthy, that she still has much to learn, that there are people to anchors her to this earth.

Crow, Winged Guardian of the Valley

He is no trickster, however; he watches over the inhabitants, catching secrets and sharing burdens, and the lost humans who wander too far, he leads them back to the right path with a smile. There are, on occasion, when a child finds their way into the valley, an orphan. Adoring children and compassionate, Crow take them as his own, raising them in the mountains until they are of age. He teaches them the secrets of nature—how to listen to the wind, how speak to birds—and they learn a little of godliness. He has many wonderful memories, but the ones he remembers the most are the days when his children come off age and he sends them back out into the world where they belonged, never to see them again.

On those days, he seek out his friends, weeping over his loss and proclaiming he'd never take another human child as his own again. His bond brothers know, however, that he would fail, and the cycle repeats again and again and again. They continue to catch him when he falls, and Crow rises up each time with a smile, his feathers preened and his golden staff polished. Always, he returns to his duties.

Yūsei, Young God of Neo Domino

Born in the heavenly court, Yūsei is the first living god of Neo Domino. On the day of his birth, he fell to earth like a shooting star, and for years, he slumbered in the heart of the mountain valley, every exhale breathing life into the dirt, the leaves, and air. It is said that when he fell, Neo Domino had never been so beautiful, and the people prayed in gratitude for the gods had blessed them. They worshipped the young god long before they ever saw him, and when they did, they knew he was conceived by the Sun and the Moon, his heart beating in time with the universe and his words like water, tranquil and clear.

The son of the Sun and the Moon, he takes long slumber, sometimes for years. No one would see him, but they can feel him. Other times, he takes other forms, seamlessly shifting, and maybe even half asleep. Once, he was a rabbit, then a sparrow. After, he became a bear, then a deer. Finally, he was a rock. Seungcheol as a demigod (and your boyfriend)

Seungcheol was a 10/10, he was a champion, simply he was the best demigod in the camp. He was all that was expected of the son of Zeus.

You were a simple Aphrodite's son. 100% beauty and 0% strength or ability with weapons.

You two were pretty cliche. The strongest demigod in the camp was dating the most gorgeous demigod in the camp. You two were perfect together but... Not everything was real at the start.

The first moment Seungcheol saw you, he thought he had been hit by a Minotaur. Your long brown hair, your beautiful green eyes and your everything made him weak on the knees.

He basically kissed the floor you walked on. All of his friends liked you even his horse.

On the other hand, you were surprised by his looks but not by his actions. He was acting like the other people who tried to get into your pants. Nothing knew.

So... When you were playing truth or dare in the Aphrodite's cabin with your sisters, they dare you to date Seungcheol for SIX MONTHS.

A dare is a dare so you accepted it. And that was the worst decision in your life.

Seungcheol was the kindest and cutest person you had ever met. He was so sweet with you and that made you cry sometimes because you felt like a piece of trash.

But at some point, two months after you both started dating, you fell for him too.

You were a happy couple for fourteen months, your brain was forgotten the dare and was only focused in the beautiful smile of your boyfriend until... The sons of Hermes started to spread a rumor...

Seungcheol trusted you with his whole heart so he didn't listen to them but at some point you couldn't lie to him anymore and you confronted him.

You run around the Zeus's cabin, you jump on the bed, Seungcheol hugs you and you laugh outrageously. He kisses you with delight while laughing and your heart break in millions of pieces.

"Baby..." You say while you sit on the bed. "I need to tell you something"

"Are you okey? Something happened?"

"I... I love you, you know that?" He smiles at you and he touches your cheek. "I..."

"Baby, wha-"

"The rumors are truth" Seungcheol's smile that seconds before filled your soul little by little disappears. "I... I started a relationship with you for a dare with my sisters but..."

"I never expected this from you" He looks at you and growls.

"Baby, listen please" You hold his hand. "I really love you. Yes, this started as a dare but I continued to be with you because I love you and I want to be with you"

"I don't believe you" He screams. "You know? People like you, I have all the ones I want. You're a liar but the fault is mine because I believe my heart that you were special" Without changing his hard gesture he turns around and opens the door of the cabin. "When I return, I don't want to see you here. No, I don't want to see you again"

"I know baby, I know" He hugs you. He squeezes you against him and puts his face in your neck. For a few minutes you remain that way.

A week later his last phrase still haunts you in the nights. His angry voice in your mind stops your ears to listen the caos outside your cabin.

"The camp is under attack" Seungcheol screams at the other demigods. "Son of Ares protect the limits and the others help them"

Demigods with hate towards his parents were invading the camp and were furious. They wanted to kill his brothers and sisters, they wanted to be the gods.

In that moment something click in his mind and his heartbeat starts to beat faster.

"Where is your brother?!" Seungcheol screams at one of your sisters who was running to hid somewhere. "Where is he?"

"I-I don't know. The last time a s-see him was in our cabin"

And when he sees his horse guiding him to your cabin, he knows that you were in troubles. He knows that he never will stop loving you and see your face with tears in your eyes while his worst nightmare hold a sword against  your throat just confirm it.

"It's good to see you big brother"

"If you even touch him I'll..."

"I wouldn't finish that sentence if I were you" His sister moves his sword around your neck making pressure. "I will hurt him and you know it"

"Seungcheol... don't move" You say and his eyes land in you with sadness and guilt. "I will be fine"

"Look at this little beauty, he thinks he will be okay. Really brother, I never imagined you were dating the weakest boy in the camp but he is handsome so I understand why you have him like your toy"

"He isn't a toy, he is my boyfriend and i love him so much so if you dare to insult or hurt him one more time Hades wouldn't recognize your face"

"Come if you have the courage"

"Baby, don't..."

"Stop talking!!" She pushes you and you fall on the ground. She comes over to hold you, but you're  faster than her and you punch her in the jaw, she screams. You scream too, but in pain when her sword cuts one of your eyes, you can't see with that eyes and with the other you just see blood.

Athena's sons and daughters, with their weapons in their hands, come to help you two. Seungcheol's sister looks at him and says a last sentence before escape.

"Heroes never had a happy life and you wouldn't be the first one to have it. See you soon, big brother"

Seungcheol runs to where you are and lays with you on the ground.

"Baby..." He murmurs, posing his forehead against yours. "Something could have happened to you..."

"I love you" That's the only thing you can say. "I'm so sorry..."

"I know baby, I know" He hugs you. He squeezes you against him and puts his face in your neck. For a few minutes you remain that way.

After that Seungcheol forgive you and never questioned your love for him again but first you two had a loooong talk.

"The truth doesn't cost anything, but a lie could cost you everything"

Proud boyfriend because you stand up to his sister and sad boyfriend because his sister leaves you blind on one eye.

You taught him that heroes are made by the paths their choose, not the powers they are graced with.

"A true hero isn't measured by the size of his strength, but by the strength of his heart"

Seungcheol always tells you that your eyes are beautiful even now, with a big scar crossing one of them.

Xiao Nai is a handsome top student, he is in his last year of university. He is like the prince of the campus. Not only a good student, he is also a gaming expert who has basketball skills and swimming talent.

He fell in love with Bei Wei Wei at the first sight when he saw her playing at a cybercafé. Contrary to other, Xiao Nai then decided to use his skills to capture Wei Wei’s heart in real life and online.

I began to watch this drama because of the lead actor, I start to like him since « Tornado Girl » where he played the role of Ruo Bai. One of my favorite characters in this serie.

I didn’t expect that the drama would be sooooooo good, the story was simple but attractive. It was sweet, cute and down to earth.  There was no dramatic plat or betraying or stereotype etc. It was just normal. Plus, it doesn’t have a third person who would break Wei Wei and Xiao Nai’s relationship. From the beginning to the end, Xiao Nai only sees Wei Wei and vice versa.

He starts to like Wei Wei when he saw her at a cyber café with his dad’s friend. It was a love at the first sight. He decided to approach Wei Wei on the online platform first, then when they start to be close, they decided to meet in real life near the bridge of the campus.

Indeed his father presented him a good place where he can build his company.

Not only in academic side, Xiao Nai also is a good at sport especially in basketball and swimming. Like Wei Wei he likes to run in the morning before going to class.

He found his company with the help of his 3 roommates : Hao Mei, Yu Ban Shan, Qiu Yong Hou.

Whe she knew about it, she start to be angry with her friend. They don’t talk to each other until they made up.

She shares her room with Wei Wei, Si Si and Xiao Ling.

Job: university from foreign studies department

More informations: He is in his 2nd year of college. It was him who posted photos that damaged Wei Wei’s image. Later, he fell in love with her and tried to be closer to her. This is why he began to approach Er Xi as they attended the same English courses.

Nana gave him Wei Wei’s ID yet it turns out that it actually was Er Xi’s ID. They played together online and thought that she shared the same feeling as him. When the news of her relationship with Xiao Nai was out, he felt like he was betrayed. He drank too much and said that he misjudged her and regretted for not seing how fickle she really is.

Nana is the one who filmed the video and post it on the campus forum.

More informations: Yi Ran is the most beautiful girl of the whole college according to a competition online. She comes from a rich family.

She likes Xiao Nai and go to every of his basketball matches. However, it was only a one-side love. Yi Ran dislikes Wei Wei because of that.

Summary:

Mai would stay in Connecticut through her youth, utilizing the American education that her mother would praise. Later she would also use this American ideal to try to justify going to college. In Connecticut, her aunt Mary would be skilled at using coupons and finding good deals. This would remind her of her mother in Saigon being street-smart with the vendors and knowing how to bargain well. Aside from bringing Mai on shopping trips, Aunt Mary would also teach her English which she would quickly master. Mai would grasp onto the different sounds of the language, becoming the translator for her mother when she had to leave. Her mother would emphasize hiding their identity in order to better fit into America, for example changing a birthday or lying about grade level when immigrating here. They would make their way to D.C. which her mother would praise for being the most secure due to it being the capital. Mai would recall the history of her mother’s past.

Critical Analysis:

The quote of the week would be “Suddenly, out of that difficult space between here and there, English revealed itself to me with the ease of thread unspooled. I began to understand the levity and weight of its sentences.” This would represent how Mai would rise to become someone with purpose and independence. Previously, she would look up to and rely on Bobbie, but now with her mastery in English, her mother would look to her to provide for translations. She would have the power to adjust the language and narrative if she felt that her mother’s words weren’t appropriate for the situation. This also goes to show how she was starting to assimilate into American culture, even being in Little Saigon with Vietnamese culture. She would ultimately still have to become comfortable with American culture, education,  and the English language

Personal Response:

This novel was published over twenty years ago, so while reading it definitely feels less modern than the previous novels I’ve read. However many of the Vietnamese experiences are still relatable and it’s been interesting to see Mai’s journey so far. I found it funny how her mother’s guide would encourage her to lie about her child’s grade level to make her education more challenging, or to make her child seem advanced for her grade level. Asian parents’ focus on education is something I definitely relate to. Having to translate for my mother is something I have to do occasionally too, although I’ve never had to tone down language like how Mai did when her mother was talking about evil curses. I predict that her family will continue to play a role in the story and potentially turn into conflict if something were to happen to them.

What resources can help support quality teaching and learning? (Include a focus on ICT)

BIOLOGY

Children living and using media and digital technologies is a dynamic issue which must be better understood by parents, teachers and young people themselves. Learning to work with technology is more sustainable than resorting to the ban of technology. The popular opinion is that technology is a growing distraction in the learning environment. However, 43% of Australian teachers and principals believe that digital technology enhances rather than detract their teaching and learning activities. Additionally, 55% of Australian teachers agreed that technology has improved the process of student reporting. Information communication technology (ICT) allows teachers to implement teaching activities which cater towards learning styles with needs that are not met within the ‘chalk and talk’ method. For example, Kahoot, Education Perfect, Stile and Edrodo allows students to engage in class and quickly recap content. Additionally, when students are required to conduct research, they are able to develop ICT skills through accessing technology, researching, collecting information and communicating it back. However, the resources available are heavily dependent on the school’s condition and budget allowances. Majority of the time, ICT resources cost money and should be purchases with the intent to grow knowledge, build skill, strength literacy and stimulate creativity. Hence, it is necessary to assess the effectiveness of the services and ensure that they challenge students at the appropriate level before investing in them.

MATHEMATICS

Resources are necessary in education to help support quality teaching and learning. There are many services that teachers can use to assist in finding resources such as Inclusion ED, PAT teaching resource and Scootle. Information communication technology (ICT) is a crucial component in education. Classrooms have become emotionally, psychologically and behaviourally more complex places to learn, especially with the increasing use of technology. The results of a survey show that teachers have noticed a 56% decrease in student readiness in school and that 96% of students are arriving to school tired. Hence, it is beneficial for teachers to use these technological platforms to enhance student learning. However, there are many factors to consider, such as maturity of the students and whether or not the resource will enhance or distract students from learning learning. For example, Education Perfect is a versatile and effective platform which enables teachers to deliver content efficiently for subjects like Science, Mathematics and English. However, this service may not be as effective for other subjects. GeoGebra and Desmos offer a visualisation of graphs and shapes for students to manipulate and understand the concepts better. These platforms enable educators to obtain feedback of student learning. Additionally, these services allow students to experience different learning styles such as simulation and audio-visual learners. Overall, it is crucial for educators to use technology to their advantage and utilise it to enhance and facilitate learning.
