who: @nicholaslannisters
when and where: following the actions taken by the high septon, the men of the westerlands are on route to oldtown to confront the high septon within the starry sept and retrieve the septons of the westerlands. it appears as though they are going on a multiple day hunting trip to the rest.
to maintain the appearance of a hunting trip, hunting was obviously required: mostly done to ensure other courtiers of other realms had no reason to hear anything out of the ordinary. or more important than that, to ensure the officials of the starry sept had no inclination of their approach: hunting was practically a rite of passage within the lands of the west, something men did for days at a time. if there was any space in which nicholas lannister seemed to exell, alongside the prince of fair isle, it was in the space reserved for physical prowess. hunting and athleticism were expected amongst the men of the west, and in this very moment in time somewhere within the woods of horn hill, they pursued a stag at full speed.
they were mere visions blurring through thickly dense wooded trees, glimpsing a sight of one another and then not within the sound of horns. the lord of lannisport practically lept from his steed, pursuing the steed into the thickness of the woods: he heard exclamations from various men of the west, including the lord commander; though they remained still to see if he would return with the carcass. it took some time before the man emerged with the body of the deer, amongst victorious cheering and thunder. an impressed look crossed over the lion king's face himself, leather gloved hands coming to clap as the man presented the stag before the king, as was customary.
"ride on." the king instructed to the others around him, watching as nicholas lannister returned atop his horse.
the heir of lannisport was one of the most notable bachelors in all of the west: the most wealthy, for sure. he were a man whose marriage would be an important part of their political strategy; lannisport remained the beating heart of the west following years of reinvestment and a specific focus on the city. it were imperative to the wellbeing of the realm, to ensure their veins beat with gold to replace all the bloodshed that had been spilled. his marriage could not be one of simple convenience, nor could it be one the king did not oversee; for lannisport was too important of a city.
"nicholas." tyland spoke, his tone uncharacteristically relaxed as he looked upon the man. there was an ease within the lion king, as though the high septon had not all but declared war.
"with me." he directed, crossing his steed over to the part of the clearing where the lord of lannisport was jumping back upon his horse after the deer was bundled up by the servants that followed them. tyland did not notice the way in which their faces were red. there was ease in knowing it would be he who wiped the steps of the starry clean with what happened when once crossed him. he did not refer to the man using his formal title, as he usually would: being cousins, being family, did not necessarily mean there was always warmth between them. still, he would address the matter. lannisport was not just any city: and he would ensure that whoever ended up with links to lannisport were worthy of such a connection.
it required the involvement of the crown. "do you intend to present a betrothal or do you wait for an unnecessary reason? he had half the mind to jokingly remind him he was unable to marry lord leo lefford. he did not. he did not remember the last time he had joked with anyone.

closed starter // ft. @warlocknic
the town's streets were washed in rain and illuminated by flashes of lightning. juniper stood by the window of her home, her fingers lightly tracing the glass as she watched the storm's fierce dance. thunder rumbled in the distance, and her skin seemed to tingle with the energy in the air. the young witch adored storms, there was just something so mesmerizing to her. hearing footsteps behind her, juniper smiled, holding out her hands for the tea that nicholas offered her. she mumbled a quiet thank you, her cheeks heating up as she met his gaze. "you know.. i've always found storms to be a bit magical, in their own way. the raw power, the unpredictability... it's like nature's way of reminding us of her strength." taking a sip of the tea, she smiled happily, the drink warming her from the inside out. "i am glad you're here though. with my mom on the late shift and my dad out of town.. this big old house can get pretty lonely."

Finally got my print of @c-hrona's beautiful Vashwood piece! (shop link)
Unfortunately, my local post office is exceptionally chaotic, which led to a delay, and apparently they took the sturdy packaging and clear "Do Not Bend" labels as a challenge rather than instructions. (I wish I could say this is the first time they've done something like this, but alas.) It's still gorgeous and should be fine once I press it into a frame.
Can't wait to hang it up! Pictures of it don't do justice to the foil.

I LOVE a good Lydia Nicholas character. An ex youtuber who’s trying really hard to kill her boss? A non binary, many times divorced mad scientist? A young woman who’s trying to escape her crime lord uncle and consistently rolls above 30s by level 5? An alien who’s trying really really hard to convince everybody that she’s a human, and works for alien buzzfeed? Literally never misses.
