there's one that is not the worst fic ever but also wasn't the best writing + grammar and GOD, 12 year old me ate that shit up. this was the fic that probably got me started in the fandom so i have it to thank for my entire career LMAO. it was about the ppg being in a band and going to a band concert where the rrb were also a band but they were also the judges. the ppnkg were also there as the "love rivals" ya know how it was back then. it was a song fic and lord, let me tell you, i ate it up with no crumbs and i even made a playlist with all the songs from the fic. yeah i may not be okay after reading that LMAO. i read it again recently and i was like god, who was i back then? love it tho, it gives me memories

i could name like a million high school fics but they all kinda merge into one so i cant remember each premise since theyre basically all the same haha. when i was a teen, i would search for highschool au fics like a bloodhound and teen nyan did not care if the writing was garbo LMAO

im going to say this now for anyone looking for fics, the worst ppg fics can be found if you just scroll through ao3 for a while and just read the tags. i recently looked thru ao3 for some new fics and let me tell you... the fucking tags that ive read and had to go through? yeah... i 100% will say with no fucking doubt that the first 10 pages of ao3 has some of the WORST ppg fics ive seen and i dont even need to read them to know that they are. i just read the tags and i know the author is some fucking creep.

ofc not every single fic on the first 10 pages are awful, ive found some really cute fluff or some really cool plotlines!!!! but you really just gotta.... sift through them... LMAO

Uhhh grey’s anatomy??

lmao so I don’t technically watch Grey’s Anatomy but like…I also peripherally watched my friends watch it and I know up to date storylines so. Maybe I do watch it asdfjkl 

my all-time ultimate fave character: Cristina! I absolutely loved her in every episode that I saw, and I think she’s fantastic

a character I didn’t used to like but now do: I don’t think I cared about Derek initially? I saw my friend raving about him and I didn’t get the appeal but after peripherally watching my roomie watching 6 seasons I started getting attached haha 

a character I used to like but now don’t: ehhhh can’t think of any 

Oh wait I didn’t like her I was neutral but uhhhhh Katherine Heigl’s character. Izzy? 

a character I’m indifferent about: Oh ANY of those one-off characters who showed up for like a season tops and then left I don’t even remember their names lmao 

a character who deserved better: aLL OF THEM?? Like not even all the ones who died just. All of them. 

a ship I’ve never been able to get into: Callie and Arizona. I was actually kind of excited because I know people love them and when I saw Arizona introduced I was like!!! Oh!!! Nice!!! At least I can watch them and fangirl over another wlw ship!! But then I kept watching and I just...wasn’t a fan? Like I actively disliked the idea of them getting together, I didn’t think they had any chemistry, and I didn’t think they seemed like a ship that would stay together in the long-term (which to the show’s credit, they weren’t, and a ship doesn’t have to be together long-term to be good imo, but still combined with everything else I just wasn’t into it and it really surprised me). 

a ship I’ve never been able to get over: Derek and Meredith. Somewhere along the way I went from going “oh yeah whatever they’re cute” to actively being upset when I saw how much pain they were going through, to Meredith losing the love of her life. The ship kind of snuck up on me and even though I don’t think I watched nearly enough episodes of Grey’s I still think they deserved a lot better

a cute, low-key ship: uhhHHHHHHHHHH? Mark/Lexie? I didn’t ship them bc I didn’t see enough of them but they seemed cute in what I watched 

an unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: Oh uhh Cristina/Owen? I don’t think they were a couple that needed to be together long-term, and again I only peripherally watch Grey’s so I really have no idea how bad their relationship was towards the end but I did like the parts of their dynamic that I DID watch. I’m also just a sucker for angst and they seemed to provide that to me so there’s that. 

a ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: uh? Probably a lot but I don’t know them! 

my favourite storyline/moment: God it broke my HEART but the episode where George died. He’s up there with Cristina as a favorite and I think that was a great death episode that gave an actual impact to a character death whereas now I feel like it’s just like - “Oh you’re leaving the show? Hm, what to do with your character...ah yes, I know, Death Scene.” 

a storyline that never should have been written: ^^ Unnecessary killing off of characters 

my first thoughts on the show: That it’s unrealistic, doesn’t portray medical life properly, and is kinda dumb

Tiny baby me catapulted over the handlebars after hitting a curb and split the skin under my mouth on the edge - I needed stitches and I had a scar for forever, but it’s mostly gone now. You wouldn’t know by looking at me. Co-incidentally, I never learnt how to ride a bike.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun - it’s a comedy and a shoujo and honestly one of the funniest anime I’ve ever watched in my whole life 

Yowamushi Pedal - a sports anime about cycling! It’s a goddamn mess!!! it’s hilarious and good and fun and so so so over the top 

Mushishi - a supernatural one, this anime is pure poetry and one of my favorite anime ever, if you’re looking for a soft atmosphere this is a good one

Natsume Yuujinchou - I’ve only watched the first two season of this (I’ll catch up... one day...) but it goes in the same category as mushishi, it’s soft and poetic. Both anime can get melancholic now and again, but they’re so so so good

Barakamon - soft! Slice of life!! Super funny!!!! Also there’s kids and art, I miss this anime every day

Little Witch Academia - it’s a shounen...? supernatural, definitely, and the first half is mostly just the girls being ridiculous and the protagonist trying to become a witch without any magic - super good super fun if you haven’t you should watch it

Senyuu - uhhhhhhhhhhhh YEAH THIS IS A SILLY ONE like it’s, honestly a ridiculous one, if you want to laugh this is the right one (every episode lasts less than 10 minutes so it’s fast to watch too)

Uchouten Kazoku - fits? maybe? One of the main characters has a seriously sad backstory, but generally it’s soft, a bit crazy but poetic. It’s a comfort anime for me, really

Kimi Ni Todoke - my favorite shoujooooo it’s soft. And happy. And romantic. And I love it

Isshuukan Friends - another shoujo! The premises are particular but it’s generally a really soft really warm one

Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge - fun! relaxing! super warm!! I miss this anime and all the nerds in it!!!!

where you’re either a) called in as a temporary replacement, or b) are a permanent host for a late night show.

ok so, the radio show is split into different shifts – day and night shifts, mainly

you take the night shift, because you’re an incorrigible night owl

and because you love chillhop, acoustics. it’s like a match made in heaven, you and night shifts.

you know there’s a radio host, a very popular radio host, for the morning shift – he’s your exact counterpart in that he’s perfect for the morning call: bubbly, loves singing, has a lovely cheerful voice… the list goes on

but because you’re always on the night shift, and you’re always sleeping in, you don’t get to meet this guy, much less listen to his shows.

so you’re like /shrug/

but inside you’re really curious, because… well, you’re always by yourself recording (since you know how to operate almost everything on your own, and all your friends are losers who need their 9 hours of rest)

this one time, however…

you find yourself stuck in the studio patching up some things way after your shift

there was an emotionally attached caller who took up one hour, the sound system went down a bit and you had to fix it while keeping the listeners entertained…

things dragged on until it was, like, five in the morning.

you’re ready to drag your ass off to bed, when the morning radio host enters with a steaming cup of coffee and a bright smile

he doesn’t expect to see you there – usually the studio just runs on autoplay between the hours of 3am – 5.30am

“hey…” “hey, sorry, but i’ve been here since 8pm last night and i need to sleep bye” is what you say before you just collapse on the sofa in the next room.

seungkwan is obviously at a loss but!! he’s also been curious about the night host

when you wake up, seungkwan’s in the recording room working his charm

in fact, you wake up to the sound of his singing. nice, non-belty singing.

there’s a cup of coffee on the table next to you, and it just says “for the overworked night host !! :D”

you thank your past life and good karma and everything and drink the coffee.

“hey, i’m seungkwan, the morning host. it’s nice to meet you for the first time!” he says when he leaves the studio on autoplay.

you laugh and introduce yourself too. but you have classes and you need to change, so the exchange is pretty short.

one time you laugh out loud at the sight of what he’s left for you, and explain to the listeners the whole deal between you and seungkwan

a few, ten, maybe fifty people support the idea

so you and seungkwan end up doing an evening special and by the end of it it’s like the best idea ever because he’s so funny??? what???

the notes never stop coming, man

and you guys decide to do a mini-interview

“think of the ratings,” your overall producer whispers, hunched over a plan to monetise this tiny radio show

“hello everyone! it’s [y/n] here, and guess who i have with me today? it’s lee jihoon, the producer behind the music you’ve been listening to!”

“so, jihoon, tell us more about yourself!”

his first impression of you was right – is right – you’re really easy to talk to, and the session goes by quite comfortably

he doesn’t even realise time’s up until your overall producer is literally banging on the door and mouthing “out”

“that was really fun, jihoon, thank you!” “nah, it was really easy to talk to you”

do you guys hang out and he brings you more compositions to evaluate?

 seokmin:

okay, this time seokmin is the one calling you in for help

one of his friends (this guy has a ton of friends, don’t even.) mans the radio show, and is in need of a replacement for the night shift

“why don’t you help him out, seokmin?” “have you heard me speak?” “uhuh” “it’s the night show, [y/n]. i’m going to wake people up” “…so you’re saying that i make people want to sleep?” “uhhhhhhhhhhhh no?”

but you help him out anyway – that guy is impossible to refuse

so! seokmin accompanies you to the studio, and he’s just there for moral support because it can be scary doing a radio show for two hours or so

“um, hi, everyone, this is [y/n] and i’m filling in for the regular host!” /muffled whispering in the background

everyone. can hear. seokmin. being encouraging. in the background.

at first, it’s kind of sweet?

but like, after the fiftieth thumbs up you’re just like

“ok seokmin, how about you join us in the recording”

“whaaaa- nooooooooooooo hi everyone, i’m seokmin hahaha”

he is a good night show host, despite what he says

he’s funny, and his sense of humour can be pretty chill when he wills it to. it takes a bit of effort, though, because at first he’s really loud

“so, seokmin, tell us more about that time with the-” “we dON’T SPEAK OF-” “shhhhh”

but yeah, night shift is so fun with him, you forget about the thermos of coffee you brought to keep you awake.

eventually the two of you do get into a somewhat philosophical discussion

“how did we get from cabbages to being happy?” “uh”

and even though he’s pretty happy-go-lucky and always sparkling with happiness, you guys exchange views and you find that it’s not always the case

i mean, duh, but still

“but i think it’s best to try and be happy, yknow” “…yeah, it is”

it’s a pretty meaningful conversation, and part of you is in shock that this didn’t happen in more private circumstances, but that there are at least fifty people listening in haha

you do get to know him a bit better after this, though

and he treats you to coffee the next day for your efforts, so it’s all worth it!
