So, hang on. I see a lot of takes about, like. Blood volume and processing speed and also about like. Healing potions and stuff, especially revolving around Astarion now that people are y'know. Looking at DnD Vampires.
What I don't see is basically anyone acknowledging that the vast majority of the damage you take from Vampire (and Spawn) bites is necrotic damage that reduces your hitpoint total until you rest. Like, I always assumed that was why Bloodless is a condition that takes a restoration spell to get rid of. It's...it's necromancy. It's magic. It's transference of life force.
No judgement to people that want to like. Calculate precisely how much blood is in a boar. Or a bear. Or a person. But is the necrotic damage a thing we're overlooking on purpose or do people just not know?

OFMD FINALE SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
okay so tf is everyone complaining about? there's so much negativity around the finale and idk why?? like eps 6 and 7 i got the criticisms for because they were clunky and rushed but the finale was literally the best case scenario on all fronts (apart from izzy not getting kissed)
like, the crew get to go be pirates and start plotting revenge and live and love and be a whole big polyamorous snuggle pile, which i think is very much what the show is about, loving each other, finding where you belong and who you live for, along the lines of what jim and izzy have said about the crew
izzy's arc got cLOSURE he understood that he fed into blackbeard's negativity and even though he was self aware of that, he also understood that he needed blackbeard in order to have purpose and he was happy to die and surrender that purpose in order for ed to just be ed and be happy because he LOVES him, and yeah maybe i wish he hadn't have had to die because he's my skrungly but i think that it was a smart choice for the story! he was such a huge part of what held ed and stede back from being happy in season 1 and got such a redemption arc in season 2 that the only rational progress is to be free of him in order to move on, but value and remember who he was and what he did for them and their feelings for him (the headstone!)
ed and stede got to retire!!!!!!!! they are retiring !!!!!! together!!!!! happily! in love!!! like how is that not the ideal scenario. how is that not what everyone was hoping for. sweet domestic bliss! ed's entire character motivation this whole fucking show was him finding who he was outside of piracy and outsides of the blackbeard persona. stede was a fucking terrible pirate who found where he belonged, and it wasn't at sea! it was with ed! wherever ed was. them getting to chillax and finally he happy without anything hanging over their heads is deserved. and i'm sure if we get a season 3 that there will be obstacles explored including cabin fever especially on stede's side because i think he will have a residual longing for adventure moreso than ed who's just ready to be done with it all, but for now??? i think a break had been a long time coming for them.
lupete's wedding!!!! it happened! and it was short and sweet and subtle, but their love is so real, their chemistry is just so lovely, and they also deserve to be happy. somehow i have a feeling something terrible will happen to them is season 3 but i don't gotta think about that rn
so overall i loved it i think everyone was hot as shit i think the fighting and the piratey scenes were cool, i LOVED the misdirect of zheng asking to team up only for the ship to leave without stede and ed i thought that was BEAUTIFUL writing
the LETTER SCENE !!!!!?
everyone was SO HOT
but yeah you know what izzy didn't get kissed so maybe i hated it after all

Blue Spider Lily Thoughts
(Manga Spoilers Below)
So, something I've been wondering for a while.
If the KnY series were to have found a way to utilize the concept of the blue spider lily more, what would it be?
As of right now, this is the only information available regarding the flower:
It was believed to have been used in the medicine given to Muzan that turned him into a demon.
Muzan believed that it was the key to helping him conquer the sun.
The flower only blooms for two or three days in daylight a year (which was why Muzan and his demons were never able to find it).
Many of these flowers bloomed where Yoriich buried his wife, Uta, back in the Sengoku Era
Kie Kamado apparently knew where the flowers grew, and even showed Tanjiro when they were blooming when he was younger.
Aoba Hashibira would do research on the flowers centuries later, but made a mistake that caused the speciemens he collected to die.
Besides this, I don't think there's much mention of them again. Not even during the Hashira Training/Infinity Castle Arcs, which I was a bit disappointed about.
I suppose I can understand if the series meant for this to be one element of the story that remained a mystery (which is honestly okay, as I'm sure there's many shows and books that might have something like this). After all, having everything explained in the series doesn't leave a lot for the fandom to explore and theorize about in-between seasons and long after they've ended.
But...I don't know, I don't hear much about this particular element of the manga/anime talked about a lot.
(I think I heard people say something about Kie feeding her kids the flower or something too? But I wasn't able to find the source of this. Is this true?)
I'm genuinely curious if people have ideas on how it could have been integrated more into the series (or even used as an effective element to add to the story). Or if they have theories/thoughts about it.
So what do you guys think?

also does,,, anyone except miss rhi want to see a continuation of mirror/indelible. personally, i would be willing to write it more for completionism' sake, but bc it was started so long ago i'm finding it super hard to get back into that mindset??
however! however, if there's still people who've been around since indelible, and have been waiting and waiting in the hopes i will finish it, if there's still people who really wanna see it in place of something new - i will consider it

I'm bad at character analysis and I'm still trying to wrap my head around him, so correct me if I'm wrong
But a thought crossed over my head the other day. Is Ulysses angry because he and Six are so similar but in completely different places in life?
Both are couriers who ran around and made decisions that had large consequences on the world surrounding them without much consideration for that fact. In the end, Ulysses found a place he believed he could call home only to almost immediately lose it. Meanwhile, look at Six. Sure they're embroiled in a brewing conflict between two factions but they have friends, a home, they're yucking it up in a casino on the weekends. Going on grand adventures. Getting fisted by a robot. Does it piss Ulysses off to see someone who, based on his personal experience, should be deeply suffering but isn't? Is that why he wants to bomb their home, so Six is where they're "supposed to be" in life, alone and with no where to belong like him?
TL;DR He hate us cause he ain't us.

So, in the middle of talking to my therapist about hypersexuality and other such behaviors being a result of trauma and trying to reassert control over our bodies (it's a long talk, ok?) we ended up stopping to talk about patient confidentiality.
In that, despite her licence being taken away, she still observes some rules when talking to clients. She writes notes, looks for medicines that could help, and keeps any information on said clients to herself.
To which I asked... Why? You don't legally have to.
She seemed to take exception to that.

gen question - how do y'all define "ship"? like, when you ship two (or more) characters, does that mean you want them to be romantic lovers? does it mean u want them to fuck? does it mean u just like their dynamic together?
for me it's always been the first, but i'm curious to see what other people mean when they say they "ship" two (or more) characters together. so let's talk lol

It is a beautiful day, and you are a horrible research transport vessel. Things are progressing as normal (i.e. it's boring) when a SecUnit pings you, lies right to your metaphorical face, and then tries to bribe you with human media to give it a ride. This is as unexpected as it is unprecedented, and the sheer nerve of it is really to be admired. There's no protocol to this, so what should you do?
Now, this is against a bunch of rules, and could be dangerous if you weren't so impressive and incredible, and you're technically an employee (and can probably rewrite the Univeristy charter at will (until someone notices and puts it back)) so those rules are for other entities.
So, what you should do is allow the rogue SecUnit with a broken governor module and a sketchy story aboard. If you check the files it dumps and find zero (0) malware (which is confusing), and it doesn't even try to trash the place or lay in wait to ambush a crew member, then you've got a good candidate!
Next, what you're going to want to do is absolutely nothing. Just watch it patrol your halls until it's time to leave. Continue staring at it while you're undergoing embarkment procedures. Maybe analyze it a little (you've got plenty of processing power to spare) when it finally sits down and starts watching media. Allow it to settle in and get comfortable while you stare at it and get further and further from port.
Now that you two are alone (intimacy is key!) and you've determined that watching media is all the SecUnit is going to do, it's time to make contact! Make sure to open by telling it it's only survived due to dumb luck, and letting it know you could melt its brain into putty. This starter will work to develop conversation naturally and smoothly, just like you've seen the humans do, and it will be smooth sailing from there!
This has been Perihelion's guide to making friends/finding life partners/fuck off Holism I had to work hard for this find your own
