Sometimes I think about how the turtles are just kids, y’know? Just kids and yet it’s up to them to save people, save New York, save the world.
It’s honestly really sad. They were created to be soldiers and while they chose to protect rather than destroy, they remain soldiers all the same.

Chapter two of ‘Three of a Kind’ - A Nalexy and O’Knutzy fic.
Rating: Explicit
This is the chapter where Logan and Kasey cause a bit of chaos at dinner - all in good fun, of course! There is a little sauciness in this chapter but it’s very mild in comparison to chapter 1, the link to which is here if you need to catch up.
Thank you to @bkfstclubmember for betaing this, you incredible human being.
And as always, @lumosinlove thank you so very much for creating these characters and this universe and for allowing us to run wild with them.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Despite the several hours of sleep that Alex had achieved the previous night, he still found himself exhausted as he took a seat at the large dining table.
Finn raised an eyebrow at the yawn that escaped Alex’s mouth. “Boring you already, big brother?” he smirked, uncorking a bottle of wine and placing it on the table. “Help yourselves. Or there’s beer in the fridge if you’d prefer.”
“You, bore me? Never.” Alex bantered, pouring for both Natalie and Kasey before filling his own glass. “These two just wear me out.”
Finn grimaced, almost choking on the sip of wine he had taken. “There are certain things that I do not need to know, thank you very much.”
“I didn’t mean that!” Alex protested, flashing a glare at Natalie and Kasey as they failed to hide their laughter. “I just meant that we’ve been busy today! Basketball, shopping, helping Nat film her next video…”
“The lady doth protest too much, methinks,” Leo interrupted as he sauntered into the room. “Food will be ready in ten minutes,” he added whilst placing the stack of plates that he had been carrying into the centre of the table.
Alex rolled his eyes, a habit that had been happening with increasing frequency since he’d started spending more time with Natalie, “Thanks for the back-up, Knut.”
Leo grinned at Alex before turning to the other O’Hara, placing a hand on his shoulder, “Stay, catch up with your brother,” he said, pre-empting the offer of help from his boyfriend.
Before Finn could argue, Kasey had pushed back his seat and stood up, “I can help carry stuff. I’m strong,” he said, sending Alex an entirely indiscreet wink and enjoying the blush that crept over his cheeks.
“I don’t even want an explanation. Just come and be useful.” Leo raised an eyebrow, leading his fellow goalkeeper back towards the kitchen.
The conversation fell into a comfortable rhythm; general life updates, small complaints about work, gentle teasing about relationships. Finn tried to avoid the last one because he was outnumbered but he found Leo and Logan’s names constantly falling from his lips.
He told Natalie about the time that they were on a vacation in France and their parents were frantic because they had lost five year old Alex. They found him in a cupboard eating a baguette that was “as tall as he was.”
“I don’t know why you have to constantly tell that story?” Alex questioned, his arm slipping from around Natalie’s shoulder as he became more animated. “You would have been...what, six months old? You don’t even remember it happening.”
Finn was about to reply when Leo’s voice from the kitchen grabbed his attention, “ Don’t you dare, Tremz.”
Finn could just imagine the slow smirk growing across Logan’s face and he couldn’t resist the urge to witness the exchange that was about to happen. “I’ll be back in a minute,” he said, expecting Natalie and Alex to stay at the table, but they were right behind him as he hurried to the other room.
As they arrived, Logan dragged his finger out of his mouth, lips smacking together with a dramatic moan. “It’s so good.” he smirked, his eyes never leaving Leo’s.
Finn quickly put  together the scene before him.  Leo’s exasperated expression. The dent in the macaroni cheese. Logan’s grin.
Leo paid no attention to the crowd that had gathered in the doorway. He quietly placed the oven gloves down on the counter, rounded the island, leaned into Logan’s ear and whispered. Finn couldn’t make out the words, but the tap on Logan’s butt gave him a good idea of what had been said and his eyes widened at the thought. Logan, however, didn’t even blush. He just gave a nod before reaching for the dish of macaroni.
Leo smacked at his hands. “Nope, you can take the salad.”
He turned to Kasey, “And you, stop encouraging him.” he chastised lightly, placing a bowl of green beans into one of Kasey’s giant hands and the coleslaw in the other.
“I can take two, as well,” Logan objected.
Leo pushed him gently in the direction of the door. “How about you concentrate on getting to the table without eating all the food first, huh?”
As the pair made their way out the room, Kasey stopped placing a kiss on Natalie’s lips. “Hey, gorgeous,” he smiled, giving Alex a kiss as well when he whined, dropping a whispered comment that Finn thankfully did not hear.
Still, he proclaimed loudly, “Lalalala, I can’t hear you,” shuddering dramatically at the end of his words.
Natalie rolled her eyes at Finn’s dramatics, took Alex’s hand and returned Kasey’s kiss on his cheek, “Come on, troublemaker, you’re supposed to be making Leo’s life easier.”
Finn returned the stuck out tongue that Alex gave him as he retreated from the room before making his way over to Leo and pulling him into a hug. “Hey Nutter Butter, you okay?”
Leo leaned into the hug, leaning his head on Finn’s, “Yeah, you know Lo. He doesn’t mean any harm. Also, I promised to make it worth his while later if he behaves so you know…” he replied, letting a small laugh slip into his words.
“You know that is just going to make him worse, right?” Finn snorted, bumping Leo’s chin lightly as he looked up.
“I do.” Leo nodded, giving Finn a cheeky glance as he reluctantly pulled away from his boyfriend. “Can I trust you with the mac ‘n’ cheese?” he asked jokingly as he placed the dish into Finn’s hands.
“I don’t know,” Finn chuckled, “It smells fucking amazing.”
“Always with the compliments.” Leo smiled gently, dropping a kiss to Finn’s hair before picking up the last two serving dishes - bourbon soaked ribs and potato salad. “Go on, before they think we’re up to no good in here.”
Finn led the way into the dining room, putting his dish down with a grin knowing they had approximately 3 seconds until -
“What the hell?” Logan began, his tone far less aggressive than his actual words. “ So Finn gets to carry the macaroni, but I can’t?”
Finn was about to chirp back at Logan when Leo added his platters to the table. “Finn doesn’t stick his fingers in the macaroni on the way,” Leo quipped, taking a seat to Logan’s right.
“This is favouritism.” Logan whined.
“Anyway.” Leo started, not letting himself get baited into the argument, knowing that was exactly what Logan wanted, “Let’s eat, shall we. I know it’s far from dietician approved, but what they don’t know won’t hurt them.”
The next few moments were an organised chaos of serving dishes being passed back and forth around the table, eventually falling into a conversation about the Lion’s latest game.
“Told you it works.” Alex boasted after Finn recalled the new play that he and Logan had tried for the first time. “You two executed it pretty well though,” he admitted with a smile.
“Excuse me,” Kasey interrupted with a grin. “I got a shutout. Are we just not going to talk about that? I had to listen to you two shower lover boys in praise for weeks after his.” he moaned.
“You did great, sweetcheeks,” Natalie leaned in, wiping a mess of sauce from Kasey’s lips with her napkin, replacing it with a kiss.
“Did you not get enough praise that night?” Alex hummed, bumping his shoulder against Kasey’s.
Finn screeched, “ Nope, no, absolutely not. We will have no talk of you sexing my brother at the dinner table.”
“Wow, O’Hara 2.0,” Natalie placed her wine glass down on the table. “So, that’s how it is, huh? We get to listen to you drone on about your boys for hours at a time, but one mention of Alex’s prowess in bed and all bets are off?”
“See, you get it. This is why you are the brains of the relationship.” Finn replied, before gesturing in Leo and Logan’s direction. “Besides, we are cute.”
“Hmm, I suppose you are.” Natalie cocked her head, “I still think I got the better end of the deal though.”
Suddenly, a piece of bread flew across the table hitting Kasey square in the forehead. “Not such a good goalie, now, huh?” Logan jibbed.
“That’s not fair!” Kasey whined. “Natalie was being all cute. Do it again.” he encouraged, adjusting his sitting position.
“Absolutely not.” Leo drawled, placing a hand over Logan’s, which was tearing another piece of bread off his roll, “How old are you? Do you need to sit on your hands?”
Leo realised his mistake as soon as the words left his mouth and Logan’s eyes shined a little brighter.
“I can sit on my hands, but you’ll have to feed me.”
Finn bit back a groan, trying to ignore the way his all of his blood seemed to have rushed southwards. He really, really loved the fact that Logan was seemingly shameless sometimes.
“And we were being inappropriate?” Alex taunted.
“Oh, I can be inappropriate if you want.” Kasey said lowly.
Natalie let out an uncharacteristically high pitched giggle, seconds before Finn felt a brush against his foot. Kasey managed to maintain an expression of perfect innocence for barely ten seconds before a guilty smile replaced it. There might have been a time in previous years where he might have enjoyed the contact a little bit too much, but now any thoughts of Natalie and Kasey were infinitely linked with his brother and it made him feel a little bit nauseous.
“Are you playing footsie under the table?” Finn groused, lifting the table cloth.
Leo sat back in his chair and gave a sigh, “How am I the youngest person here and yet the most mature?”
“Sorry, Leo. The food is great, it really is.” Natalie apologised, sending Kasey and Alex a look.
“Kasey started it.” Alex grumbled under his breath, but quieted when Natalie’s eyebrow rose.
“Don’t worry.” Leo waved it off, “I can grab dessert if we’re ready?” he asked the table, receiving a round of nods. “Do you mind getting the plates, Fish?” he asked, smiling at the eager nod that he got in reply.
“Lo, come help me?” he added, squeezing Logan’s shoulder affectionately as he got up from the table.
Once Leo was out the room, Natalie waved a hand in Finn’s direction, “Cover your ears if you’re going to get all dramatic.”
Finn shoved his seat back, grabbing the pile of plates that he had made. “Just give me ten seconds to get out the room, please?” he pleaded.
“Don’t behave...beg…” Finn only caught a few words as he was leaving, but the quiet groans from Kasey was still too much.
His thoughts of bleaching his brain were dismissed when he reached the kitchen. Logan was pressed up against the counter, Leo’s hand shoved down his pants, their faces inches apart.
“Oh hey, sweetheart.” Leo greeted, his hands playing idly with Logan’s balls drawing a whimper from the shorter boy. “I was just explaining to Logan that what happens later is entirely up to him and that he might want to check his behaviour,” Leo worked a mark into the expanse of skin on Logan’s neck in between words.
“I love my life,” Finn murmured quietly, taking a breath before making himself move. He wasn’t sure how he managed it, but he was able to put the stack down onto a counter without dropping them from his shaking hands. He contorted his features into something resembling relaxed as he leaned his weight against the marble work surface. “I’m sure Logan will be very well behaved from now on. Right, Lo?”
Logan’s curls bounced at the side of his snapback with his nods, “Yes, I’ll be good. I promise,” Logan gasped out.
Leo kissed Logan firmly on the lips, did his boyfriend’s pants button up and stepped away. “Let’s try and get through dessert without scaring our guests then, yeah?”
“I think he’ll have to work a bit harder if that’s the goal. Those three are worse than us.” Finn laughed and then shuddered as he realised that his brother was included in ‘those three’.
“Not helping, Finn,” Leo shot back, grabbing the small glasses of panna cotta out of the fridge. “Allez. Come on,” he added, once he’d checked that Logan and Finn had mostly recomposed themselves.
The three of them made their way back to the dining room to find Alex sat in Kasey’s lap, lips nuzzling his cheek and Natalie’s eyes crinkling with laughter.
“I will never unsee this,” Finn groaned, pressing the heel of his palms into his eyes. “Can you make out somewhere that isn’t my house?”
“We are not making out,” Kasey scoffed, “But maybe we should make that happen? For accuracy’s sake.”
“Who invited you, again?” Finn questioned, automatically reaching to take the tray from Leo, but received a shake of his head and a quiet, “I’ve got it thanks, Fish”
“I’m down for you making out, if we can make out.” Logan piped up, when Leo leaned over his shoulder to place his dessert in front of him.
“So much for good behaviour,” Leo remarked, taking the final glass for himself and putting the empty tray into the centre with the rest of the empty serving dishes.
Probably should have cleared those too, Finn thought, but in his own defence he’d been otherwise occupied.
“This is actually a recipe that Logan suggested, so if it’s disgusting then you can blame him.” Leo started to explain the dessert. “It’s a vanilla panna cotta with a -”
The words were interrupted by a quite frankly obscene groan from Logan who hadn’t waited for the description to be finished before diving into his desert. He looked up sheepishly when he realised that the entire table's eyes were on him.
“Ok. That was truly an accident,” Logan defended, his accent filtering heavily into the words - a sign that he was actually a bit embarrassed. “The rum jelly is just so good with the vanilla, mon lion.”
Leo coughed a few times, his throat suddenly itchy. “Thanks Lo. I guess that’s the cue for the rest of us to start.”
There was a beat of silence before they all began to eat and the atmosphere relaxed again, the conversation moving quickly between topics. Finn was just getting suspicious of how quiet Logan had become when he began to speak, “Hey! Shall we play truth or dare after we finish? That could be fun with drinks.”
There was a collective groan followed by a resounding, “No” from everybody except Kasey, whose voice broke through the noise. “I’ll play.” he grinned. “I choose dare.”
“This is how people end up in fountains, Kasey!” Finn waved his hands about, a bit of panna cotta flying off the spoon he was holding and landing on Leo’s t-shirt. He didn’t think it was that funny, but Logan and Kasey practically had tears in their eyes from laughing so hard.
“Sorry,” Finn apologised quickly, picking up his napkin to dab at the offending mark.
Leo patted his hand against Finn’s, “Hey, it was an accident. Leave it, it’ll come out in the wash.” he reassured before looking up, his eyes meeting Natalie’s, “I don’t think we’ll be playing any games after dinner, I’m afraid. My mama would probably scold me for chucking you out but it’s been a long day. I hope you understand.”
Natalie flicked her hair back off her shoulder, “Of course, darling. That’s not a problem. We should be getting off soon, anyway. Early start in the morning, you know.” she smiled in a way that was somehow both completely innocent and yet menacing.
Despite the fact that they ate their dessert in record time, every second seemed to drag for Finn. He felt a bit guilty that he wasn’t taking better advantage of the time with his brother but he’d see him again soon enough. Besides, he reasoned with himself, Alex was probably just as eager to get home as Finn was to have them leave. The thought was confirmed later as Alex pulled him into a hug as he was leaving murmuring into his ear, “ Enjoy your evening little brother, I sure will.”
Finn was sure his face had turned a shade of red that matched his hair as he shoved Alex away but despite all the exasperated sighs and groaning, he was glad that Alex seemed to have found the same kind of love that he had.

In case you wish to read the second chapter of Embers of Sun and Flame, it can be found under the cut. ^_^ I also have made an A03 where I’ll be posting any new chapters of it, but other BC fics are still only on Tumblr. I go but the same username on both platforms.
Keeping in mind that the fic will have some mature content, reader discretion is advised. But this particular chapter is still very much purely introduction and building for future encounters.

Chapter 2
Sunlight filtered through the window between the curtains, pressing gentle kisses onto Solara’s eyelids, making them flutter. The warmth and softness of the bed felt like home to her, wrapping her into a cloud of all that was good. She changed sides, curling around her blanket and burying her nose into the pillow. But the moment of tranquil twilight had passed her, and sleep did not weigh her bones any longer, so she rolled onto her back and stared at the ceiling. She exhaled deeply, concentrating on nothing but silence and the beat of her own heart.
Suppose I should get up…she thought as there was a knock at the door.
“Yes?” she stated while sitting up and gazing to the door.
“Good morning ma’am,” a meek voice began as the door started to open and a maid peeked inside, holding a pile of clothes. “I have brought you your clothes, and breakfast is being served in a half an hour,” she continued while remaining in the doorway, standing in place much like a statue and averting her gaze.
Poor thing… Solara thought to herself, while smiling to her and giving a slight nod. “Thank you. If you’d be so kind as to lay my clothes down on that chair,” she nodded towards an armchair that was placed nearby the intricately crafted dressing table in the room.
“Yes ma’am,” the maid squeaked and hasted towards the said chair while Solara pulled the covers off of her, making a slight shiver pass through her, as the air felt cold in comparison. But as much as she wished to allow herself just five more minutes of comfort beneath the blanket, she knew that it wouldn’t end up being just the five minutes and thus it’d be better for her to just get up.
“Oh, and um,” she spoke with a slightly absent tone, trying to let the syllable flow from her as softly as possible, but the maid still spun around as if expecting to be scolded. Solara gazed at her, pausing her sentence as she didn’t quite expect such a reaction and wondered if there was some form of speech, she hadn’t yet realized that was making the maid so uneasy. “I’m afraid that as I haven’t yet visited the dining hall, I’m unable to make my way there unassisted.”
Solara sat on the edge of the bed, seeing how the maid’s eyes shifted around as she was furiously thinking of a suitable reply.
Or then she’s just new in the position, she thought, thinking if she should offer the maid an answer hidden into a question. “So, I was wondering if I could have someone escort me there in, let’s say 20 minutes?”
The maid blinked as a violent blush rose to her cheeks. “Yes, ma’am!” she exclaimed, horror rising to her complexion right after. “I’m sorry ma’am. I- Yes, someone will be over,” she mumbled as her courage failed her and her eyes fell to the floor. Her body trembled in place, giving of the appearance of wanting to bolt from the room. “May- may I be excused ma’am?” Her voice quivered, the question being directed to Solara, but one was only able to tell because of the addition of ‘ma’am’ at the end of the sentence.
“Yes, you may,” Solara smiled, trying to understand the maid’s behaviour, but opting to say nothing. After all, there was no damage done and the last thing she wished to do was to discourage the young woman who hasted out of the room. Solara waited for a while, feeling the faint mana disappearing into the distance, and exhaled deeply as her lips curved into a gentle smile. She’ll be alright as long as she gets used to interacting with nobles.
Her thoughts lingered on the interaction for a moment as she retrieved a hair brush from her bag and sat at the dressing table. She watched her strawberry blond locks being tangled up, and the barely noticeable specks of gold, hidden in the sea of forest green in her eyes, glittered as the light hit her from just the right angle. The pendant that bore her family crest dangled out in the open, as a result of the tossing and turning she must have done in her sleep. The ornamental threads of fate entwining around the halves of the celestial bodies in the middle, sun and moon being equal in their union, being depicted on the piece of jewellery.
She hummed a tune as she brushed her hair, letting her mind wonder around, but landing mostly on the topics that circled around the question: “Wonder what will happen on my visit here?” Only her humming lingered in the air as she tied her hair half up, to keep it from her complexion for the day. I wonder how Mereo is doing. She doesn’t really say it, but she cares about her brothers and she must be feeling awful. She sighed. But she’s strong enough to pull through, that much I know. I just- I just wish the best for her. Slight melancholy settled on her expression as she stood up and got dressed. The feel and weight of her own clothes brought her a sense of home, the thought of which made her scoff as she buckled the belt of her pants before slipping into the double slit dress of hers, the long sleeves and high neck bringing warmth back to her body. She sat back onto the chair while putting on her boots, wondering if she should wear her pendant out in the open, opting to have it under her clothes, if there was a chance of finding herself from a battle. She fumbled with the pendant while staring into the distance. It means more to me than to them, she thought and tugged it in through the collar of her dress.
She got up and walked out of the room, only to see the maid who had escorted her to her room yesterday standing behind and jolting slightly. The maid placed her hand on her chest, taking a deep breath to calm herself.
“Good morning ma’am. Please forgive me, but I was a bit startled,” the maid admitted while taking a step back and giving Solara some room. “I’m here to escort you to the dining hall. Please, right this way,” the maid stated while straightening her back and gesturing down the corridor.
“It’s quite alright. My apologies for giving you a scare,” Solara replied while nodding earning a smile from the maid.
They travelled in silence, only the sound of their steps echoing from the walls. Solara made sure to memorize the way as she wished to be able to make her way back on her own, trying to ignore the still lingering feeling of unexplained emotional warmth that made her feel as if she belonged. But the feeling was hiding behind every corner, on every surface and laid in every reflection. Why? What is this? She thought as they entered a large dining hall, seeing a vermillion haired woman already seated by the table.
The maid bowed first to the woman, presumably the lady of the house, and then to Solara. The woman turned her gaze and smiled, as Solara approached the table. Her aura was motherly and her smile was radiant, only adding to the existing atmosphere in the room.
Solara approached the table and greeted: “Good morning my lady.” She gave a polite curtsey, recognizing the lady’s position.
“Good morning,” the lady replied, slight surprise passing through her eyes as she gestured for Solara to take a seat, an invitation which was gladly accepted.
“I do need to admit that as Leona told me that she made a friend on her journey, I did not expect them to know their way around the court.” Lady Vermillion smiled with a hint of apology painted across her expression.
“Well, if I’m completely honest, neither did I expect to meet someone of noble birth out there. But I must say that I am glad to have done so, and that my manners seem to be in accordance to the local ones,” Solara chuckled while taking her seat, giving Lady Vermillion a forgiving smile.
“Yes, they are,” the Lady chuckled. “It is quite curious, isn’t it? How we carry our upbringing with us wherever we go, and how difficult it is to shed those small telling signs. An imitation of court manners will always be just that, an imitation,” she continued.
“Hmmm. But if one hasn’t taken the time to learn the proper etiquette, then it is quite difficult to tell,” Solara smirked, making the Lady chuckle.
“Yes, that is indeed true. This kind of life isn’t for all, but if that is the case, such etiquette shouldn’t be forced. Our lives are our own, and which path we choose to take is up to none but ourselves,” she stated, knowing fully well the nature of her strong-willed daughter. They nodded in agreement, smiling to each other across the table as an explosion boomed in the distance.
Solara turned her head towards the sound, raising an eyebrow, but Lady Vermillion wasn’t fazed even in the slightest. “May I ask what that was?” Solara gazed to her with a slight confusion and a veil of concern.
“Hm?” the Lady uttered, only then seeming to register the sound. “Oh, no, no. It’s quite alright. Leona and my husband are having a talk, and I take it that she learned the placement of the Crimson Lion Kings in this year’s Star Ceremony.” Her response was casual, implying as if destroying your own residence was commonplace.
“I see. I do think Mereo mentioned something about the ceremony. It serves as a kind of feedback for each squad’s performance during the year, does it not?” Solara asked, moving on with the topic.
Lady Vermillion nodded and opened her mouth to reply, but she was interrupted by a greeting which boomed through the air: “Morning mom!” They both turned their heads towards the sound as a red-headed boy emerged into the room, marching towards the table.
“Morning Leo,” Lady Vermillion greeted, her tone reflecting the smile she must have been wearing despite Solara not seeing it.
Leo looked at Solara intently, the gears in his head visibly turning as he stood next to her.
“Good morning. I’m Solara,” she smiled, wondering what was the reason behind the stare. The boy blinked before erupting into a laugh.
“You must be aneue’s friend! That means that you’re my friend too! I’m Leopold, but you can call me Leo,” the boy exclaimed, seeming to yell out everything he said.
Lady Vermillion directed Leo’s attention, encouraging him to sit down so that they might be able to start breakfast as soon as Mereo and Lord Vermillion arrive.
The air was soon filled with friendly chatter as Lady Vermillion asked Leo questions about his studies and his duties as a knight. A few questions came Solara’s way, and she gladly answered them, feeling at home at the table. What lively, wonderful people, she thought to herself as eventually Mereo and her father arrived, and they began eating, Mereo asking Solara to tag along to the Crimson Lion Kings Headquarters eventually. Her inquiry coming out as more of a commanding assumption than a question, but Solara didn’t mind as she was already quite used to Mereo’s style of speaking.
---
“How’s your brother?” Solara inquired as they flew to the Crimson Lion Kings’ base. Leo, who was with them, stayed silent and stared ahead of him. The before so cheerful young knight, clenched his jaw, clearly worried for his brother.
“His condition is stable, but there haven’t been developments for the better either, for a while now,” Mereo paused and scoffed. “He would have better things to do than nap. I need to give him a proper beating for acting so careless when he wakes up.” Her tone was serious and determined, unwilling to accept any other outcome than her brother waking up. But what laid between the empty spaces of the words, was the lingering worry and perhaps, who knows, a slight hint of fear.
“Perhaps save that beating after you have done away with those who put him in a coma,” Solara gave Mereo a careful smile, seeing the lioness’ expression soften.
Mereo only hummed in reply as a hint of a smile tugged her lips, feeling the reassurance in the statement. From the corner of her eye, she saw Leo’s body relax with the confidence she and his sister had, giving him hope.
Poor boy. Solara couldn’t help but feel bad for Leo, who she had understood to idolize his brother, much like her youngest sister apparently idolized her and Selena. She wanted to give the young lion a hug and comfort, but didn’t know him well enough to do so. Nor did she know if he was the type to accept such gestures, so they flew in silence as yet another sensation overtook Solara.
She felt as if butterflies would be swirling inside of her in unexplained anticipation, as if something grand was going to take place making her nervous. A frown formed on her face as she thought about it, scoffing to herself internally as she didn’t believe in such concepts as destiny or fate, more than as idle words and found in old practises, but she couldn’t shake off the feeling that was burrowing its way down to her bones.
I must have seen a dream about something like this, which is making me feel like this. Yes, that must be it. I’ve had a dream where I was travelling to a destination and something happened there. But the answer she gave herself didn’t satisfy her, as the feeling of dèjá vu was familiar to her. This was something else. It was like there was a pull towards something, as if she was walking in a dream, knowing where to go but not why. And what was hidden under the need to advance, beneath the anticipation, was a hint of dread. Not the bone rattling terror one might feel in the dead of the night, while walking through the valley of the shadow of death, but the kind one feels when they are on the verge of something new. The gnawing uncertainty before taking the final step into the unknown, after which you’d cease to be the person you were a moment ago. Something in her would end to give way for something new, but what would that new be, she did not know. But despite the twisting and turning of her insides, she stayed still keeping her gaze fixed into the horizon, since it was what she willed to do. What laid ahead, would not destroy her, unless she allowed for it.
---
After arriving to the Headquarters Mereo marched forward, Solara following after her. Leo disappeared somewhere, Solara not having time to ask if she wished to keep up with Mereo. The twists and turns of these corridors failed to radiate the same comfort of home as back at the castle, and yet, the walls kept whispering to her, asking her to stay. Solara frowned, trying to push the feeling away, force it somewhere deep down to the soles of her boots so that she might tread over it. This will pass. It is nothing more than a memory of a dream…she tried to convince herself, but found her train of thought unable to write over the flutter that was now circling around her heart, making her hands tremble.
They reached a door, through which Mereo burst without a second thought. Solara stepping in, not far behind, but stopped to look around at the doorway. It was an office. A finely crafted mahogany desk sat next to a side wall, allowing sunlight to be fully cast through the window at the other end of the room. A lounge sofa rested under the window, a side table next to it, and there a bookshelf that started circling around the room onto the other side wall across the desk, but no further. There was a red rug, that matched the sofa on the floor, bringing warmth into the room. But Solara’s gaze turned back to Mereo who was standing next to the large armchair that sat behind the desk.
“What bullshit is this?!” Mereo yelled while crushing the document she had been reading in her hand.
“Hm?” Solara uttered and walked over, holding her hand out.
“The latest performance reports. It seems my brother has been slacking off and forgetting to keep the squad in a tight leash,” Mereo scoffed while handing the document to Solara.
Her eyes skimmed through the page, but the results told her very little, as she had nothing to compare them to. She picked up another document, letting her eyes dance over the words. “How are they doing compared to the previous years?” Solara asked, keeping her gaze locked with the piece of paper.
“Like shit,” Mereo spat out with flaming eyes.
“What I meant was that they could have improved from last year, but not just as much as the other squads. And in that case wouldn’t it be more sensible to compare these reports to those of previous years?” Solara finally lifted her gaze from the documents, seeing Mereo staring at her without blinking.
“You know, you sound a bit like my dim-witted brother.” Mereo finally said, her tone calmer than a moment before. “They are just weak, that’s their issue. But if you really want to go through the reports, I’m not stopping you,” she continued, making Solara raise an eyebrow.
“Are you sure that I should? I mean, I’m not even a member of the Crimson Lion Kings.” She questioned, her gaze not wavering from Mereo’s.
“I’ll make you a member. You said that you want to help, and quite frankly I don’t give a rat’s ass about paper work, but it needs to be done because otherwise the Mushroom head will have a stroke. Besides, I need someone to look after the cubs when I’m tied elsewhere.” Mereo continued, her voice unwavering and stern.
Solara blinked, questioning of it would indeed be just *that* easy. “That simple? I mean, I’m all for doing this, but can I officially do that? I’m not a citizen of this country, and I have previous commitments to Thea. Additionally, I don’t think I should be seeing legal documentation of another nation.”
They maintained eye contact, Mereo raising an eyebrow during the moment of silence that fell between them. “I don’t care what it says on paper, either you’re a Crimson Lion King in your heart or then you’re not. If you want to help, I’m giving you something that you can do. Besides, if you chose for some reason to betray this kingdom, you’d be personally accountable for *me*. And I would hunt you down to the ends of the Earth, and make you suffer before killing you.”
Solara’s expression became grave with the last sentence, as Mereo’s tone spoke of the seriousness of her statement. Once more silence fell between them, the seconds ticking away before her expression softened and she opened her mouth to reply. But a door opened and man emerged through the door.
“Good da-“ the man began before being interrupted by Mereo.
“Randal, round everybody up in five minutes. I need to give all your asses a beating. You got the memo, right?” Mereo crossed her arms, while raising an eyebrow at Randal, who blinked, having stopped in place with his hand still on the door handle.
“Yes, Captain,” he only stated before taking a step back to execute Mereo’s orders.
“Oh, one more thing,” she said, more factually than she had a habit of doing.
Randal stopped as if hit by a brick wall and gazed at Mereo. His eyes reflected a slight hint of terror, but quite honestly, Mereo’s stare alone could do away with lesser men.
“This is Solara. She’s a part of the squad now so get her a cape.” Mereo paused, turning her gaze to Solara. “Unless she’s unwilling.” The sentence came out as a statement, rather than a question, which only made Solara smirk.
“It’s a deal,” she spoke with a grin while looking Mereo straight in the eye, which lifted a smirk on her lips as well.
“You heard her, now get a move on. You have four minutes,” Mereo grinned while glancing at Randal. “Yes Sir!” He exclaimed before disappearing from sight.
Silence fell into the room, only the sound of distancing steps echoed from the walls, filling the air. “Knock yourself out,” Mereo smirked, her tone flowing from her much more gently than before. She gave Solara a smile and started making her way out, leaving Solara into the captain’s office with a pile of documents.
She looked at them with a sigh. Wonder where I should start? Her eyes started scanning through the room, landing onto a smaller filing cabinet that had been placed in the corner of the room, slightly out of sight. Ah, let’s see what’s in here. Her steps carried her towards the cabinet, the drawer opening with ease. Her fingers danced on the edges of the documents as she searched for the previous assessment reports. It looks like somebody likes to stay organized, she smiled as she found what she was looking for in no time.
Her eyes started reading through the file, her feet taking her to the large armchair without a second thought. She sat down, sinking in to the soft upholstery as the smell of mahogany seeped through the air, along with something else. A faint smell of… lavender? Something floral and yet it was faint, as if overwritten by another scent. A hair care product of some kind….? What are you doing? Focus. She shook her head as she tried to dispel the tantalising smell that caressed her senses, inviting her to press her head against the back of the chair.
And yet she closed her eyes and breathed it in, letting it fill her lungs only to flow out from her with a savouring hum. What did I just say? You need to focus and besides, why are you acting like this? She scolded herself, opening her eyes and leaning forward over the desk to start revising the files.
She sat in silence going back and forth between documents and scratching her head. This isn’t supposed to be that difficult. They look like standard issue forms, but some of these words are completely new to me. Though, what did I really expect? I haven’t had to converse with juridical terminology in this language really… ever, and now I’m supposed to be doing this. She sighed to herself. Maybe I bit up more than I can chew with this one. Her eyes turned to the ceiling as she grimaced and rubbed her temples, but sadly the answers she sought were not written on the walls or the ceiling, so she let her gaze wander for a moment as she tried to wrap her head around what she had just read. Her fingers gently tapped the wooden desk as another sigh left her and her eyes started circling around the room once more, landing onto the bookcase. I wonder… could there be a…? She thought before getting up and making her way to the shelf.
She scanned through the books, unable to keep herself from smiling when her eyes landed on a legal dictionary at the corner of the bookcase. I may not know who you are, but you and your systematisms have been my salvation. She giggled to herself as she picked up the book and started flipping through the pages while returning to her seat. Hmm…I see, suppose I could make notes for myself to have a quick reference page. Let’s see. Paper. Paper… Her eyes landed on the writing utensils carefully laid onto the right side of the desk. You’re right-handed I take it. Which could mean that you’d store empty papers and documents onto the left side of your desk and move them to the right for storing… She peeked onto a top drawer on the left side, and found empty sheets of paper as well as a few ready-made documents that could just be filled out.
Another gentle smile flashed across her complexion. Huh, I was right. And I have a few templates for making new documentation. A silent chuckle escaped her as she placed the empty sheet of paper onto the desk, and her eyes started once more dancing on the ink filled pages, adoring every intricate detail and line of the beautifully crafted script, written by a kind soul. Or one that she thought to be a gentle and caring soul, who put their heart and soul into their work. I just hope that he also makes time for himself…she thought before zoning in on her work.

If you don’t mind, how did Leo and Ralph got a scar? (You don’t have to answer if you’re not comfortable!)
No it’s okay! I’m happy to answer!
It is explainined in the story about Kimay’a and Leo - “Moral Authority” - which can be found on Ao3
Tumblr media
Here is a snippet from it which explains his scar origin…
“So…” Kim started again after taking another much needed sip of wine, “…before I detoured the conversation of scars. I told you mine, what’s the origin of yours? If you don’t mind sharing, of course?” Sitting forward, propping her chin up on the backs of her knuckles, she studied him with thoughtful patience, only now brave enough to without needing to look away after too long.
His skin was littered with notches and scars, some more faded than others, but none were as prominent as the one across his right eye. Like he was curious of hers, she two often wondered about it but feared the origin story may hurt more than the scar itself. However, she hoped now she had shared her own, that the walls between them had come down a little more, he trusted her enough the same way she had come to trust in him.
Letting out a quiet hum as he ran his fingertips over his lips, he considered her request. He had become so lost in her story, the protective urges it incited and his own memories involving adoption that he had shoved it to the back burner and effectively forgotten about his half. It felt like he had so many more questions for her, but no way to ask them, and she certainly made it clear she was encouraging a change in topics. Likely that it was for the better, lest he ask something that upset her and had her shut down, which he definitely didn’t want.
“I’m afraid it probably isn’t nearly as interesting as it seems,” he offered with a small smile, tracing the line of the scar under his eye absentmindedly. He wanted to chose his words carefully, so as not to give off any wrong impressions, but there was only so much he could do with the story. It was what it was. “It’s actually from my brother.”
“Your brother?” Kim’s eyebrows creased together underneath the fringe of her hair, pulling her chin off her knuckles to sit up as she tilted her head. She didn’t appear judgemental about the fact, only curious for an explanation, though she remained quiet for him to continue.
Dropping his back against the cushions of the couch, he let his eyes wander up to the ceiling while taking a deep breath. “Yeah, it was a long time ago… we were still kids, really, looking back at it. We still had so much to learn, you know?” Glancing at her, he was relieved to see that she still remained passive, simply nodding and pulling a knee up to her chest to hug it. “I’m sure it’d help you to know that Raph and I haven’t always seen eye to eye… that time it just got a little too literal, I guess.”
It was a memory he generally didn’t think about, and while pulling it up was painful, he reminded himself that it paled in comparison to her own. In the end, he had lost nothing, he still had his brother, still had his vision. Yet at the time, it had been such a shocking betrayal that the ripples still caused small wakes from time to time. “It was before we started going out on patrols, we were still training. God, Mikey was still just a little kid. I remember him just crying, no one could calm him down.
“Raph and I had been arguing before training. To this day I can’t even remember exactly what about, it was so frequent back then. I just know it had been escalating, like there was no end to it. Waking, eating, training… all of it was conflict. Dad… Sensei was doing his best to get us to find common ground, to give us perspective. So he had us switch weapons, gave Raph my katana, I had his sai.” Looking down at his hands, remembering how foreign the weapons had felt in them, left him feeling dark.
“You didn’t use training weapons?” Kim asked quietly. Her features were soft but creased with concern, as if it had only been yesterday, and it lifted the darkness somewhat.
Shaking his head with a small smile, he looked back to his hands. “Not by then, not unless we were training with Mikey. He was still using training weapons, but Raph and I are five years older, we had moved up to steel by then. We had the knowledge to, even if our maturity failed us sometimes.
“This was just the two of us, and Raph carried his anger from the argument in with him. He thought he had the upper hand finally, since katana are generally considered offensive weapons while sai are usually defensive. He didn’t take it well when I was still able to block his strikes, and he just kept pushing harder and harder, trying to find a gap in my defenses. I started to get angry, too, fighting back when I should’ve walked away.”
Smoothing a hand over his hair, pulled back into a ponytail, he tried to remind himself that they had been young and hindsight was always easier. “We both took it too far. Young and stupid and too much to prove. He managed to knock me off balance, and I fell onto my back. Usually that’s it, that’s when that session ends, and I didn’t see how spun up he’d gotten, how lost he was in going for the win. I let my guard down, and next thing I knew, he was on top of me.
“It all happened so fast, I didn’t even know what had happened at first. The blades are so sharp, you don’t even really feel it at first. One minute he’s over me and all I saw were his eyes and the flash of the metal before squeezing my eyes shut and trying to get my defense up. Next thing I know, I heard the clang of them hitting the ground and Mikey yelling. I opened my eyes, but this one was all full of blood.”
Kim had a hand over her mouth, her eyes wide in shock. He gave her leg a reassuring squeeze before rubbing his hands together, mentally washing the blood off of them. “Donnie says that squeezing my eyes shut is probably what saved my eye from getting injured. The blade just skipped from eye ridge to cheekbone. Thankfully Raph had already kind of tried to pull the hit, even though it was too late. Otherwise it would’ve been much deeper.”

ROTTMNT: Human AU, some design HCs and random HC
@bootyyshaker9000 This is so long i'm so sorry i just gonna make a post about it i don't wanna flow your dms or anything, so I wrote this down in paper and in spanish so forgive me if my english is shitty and it took so damn long, btw HI!!!~ How you doing honey?
My Heart Ache a Lot (cuzhessopreciousicantbrah)
~ My son Mikey I can't let anybody hurt you. (Btw, Leon call him Miguelito). He struggles a little with puberty, mostly with ocasional acne. His brothers constantly remind him of being careful to not get scars from pinching the pimples obsessively.
~ MIXED BRAH U CANT' TELL ME OTHER WISE, 1/2 cups of african-american and 1/2 cups of latino spice and PUFF yOU GOT CINNAMON ROLL THAT COULD ACTUALLY KILL YOU.
~ Cocoa skin (with that yellow undertone, you know?). Thin hair, curly, natural and the most bouncy-est(?) hair, a little above the chin lenght, tied up in a bun when he's busy making art.
~ Button nose, surrounded by some freckles. With really big, almond eyes. His face gets pinkish when it's to damn hot, he's doing to much work or is REALLY angry.
~ I think I gotta bring up how nice his smile is, he got that smile, that shows up just his upper teeth row, the upper lip disappears and it goes way up his cheeks and then it sinks in his dimples. Art.
~ Mikey ain't that young but his height, complexion and even facial features makes him look a lot younger in comparison to his brothers, he could be like 25 and ppl would still think he's in highschool, never aging ppl.
~Had this beautiful dreads, with the tips colored differently once in a while. Now he's growing his hair to have larger dreads, so he can paint em a different color each and have em in high up-do, like a rubberband ball.
~ Mikey would wear every fucking color, get the fuck away with toxic masculinity p l e a s e. Fits anything 10/10. But loves sports clothing (Matching ones are the BEST) he find's it refreshing and really comfy since Miguel is really active, so if he's needs to go usain bolt he GOES OFF and you can imagine sneakers don't last with him. Probably, every single piece of clothing he owns has at least a minor stain from some sort of paint.
~Wears headbands, sometimes really neat designs and then straight out "what the hell is this vomit stain garbage Mikey?" (from Donnie, mostly).
~ Has fake piercings. He's got several in his ears. He wants to have em for real, older brothers just keep telling him that "when he gets older".
Plus: We all know how the turtles are sneaky sneaky, tricky tricky and rad skillyz skillyz being ninjas but in this human AU his brothers got nothing on him like he's flexible as hell, he comes down the stairs like the exorcist bitch or that other bitch on the ring and scares the shit out of Leon and Raph, can touch his calfs with his neck that kind of stuff. And he doesn't run, he travels back to 1955 to save Marty McFly ass.
Leonardo DABinci
~ Not so long ago I made a post about how Leon is a Latino, quote:
"I can clearly see how Leon is totally a Latino. Like: thick wavy hair, with really small monolid eyes, and medium light skin (latinos know what the hell i'm talking about, those kids that get told they have "ojos de chinito" and rock the neapolitan tanning: caramel where the sunlight hits, milky way where it doesn't and pink when it's too much sun for the day) and then Donnie is this asian™ bean, so, sometimes they are mistaken as blood related brothers (Mostly cuz the eyez) and the stripes are the tanning y'all."
~ In addition, recently someone WOKE™ me up and reveled to me as in a prophecy, that Leon is Half-Chilenian, Half-Argentinian.
~ TBH yall, i just want my boy to do his thing and do them Fornite dances while some dope ass cumbias are playing, this is straight up my dream for real.
~Leon got those damn thick eyebrows more than Raph, plucks em to give em shape.
~Has a lot of scars. Leon is very active as Miguel but he is a troublemaker. Got several scars from fights: face, knees, knuckles, arms, legs. And that one time he came running to get his juice, slipped and smashed into the stove glass.
~Has wavy thick hair, keeps the top messy and fluffy and the rest shorter, undercut typo.
~LEON. USES. GLASSES. Period. But don't use em regulary, mainly cuz he's so active and sometimes clumsy and would rather not buy glasses everytime he goes out.
(Donnie, probably): "Leon, why don't you use your glasses? You are making your eyes even smaller trying to read that sign"
(Dumbo): "No, no! que dices weon? I only need the glasses when i'm reading!"
~Loves stripes in his clothing. In any shape and thickness.
~Low-key uses Donnie button up shirts because he does think Donnie looks so well in em, but he's a little more broad than him (Thicc bacc, bicc arms) so he had tear some up, or pop a button or too.
~Guy who would wear anything and don't give a shit if he doesn't have a defined style. One day he's with that graphic tee, flashy bermudas and some sandals and the other day using some jeans, saggy big sweater, a beret and some fine boots.
~ Loves boots more than sneakers. Got good traction with em. But no one can replace las CHANCLAS i'm telling you, he's so comfortable flipping & flopping.
~ He's hairy. Really hairy. Don't shave, except the faice. He's got that baby face and the trace of where the beard could be. It ain't that thick sandpaper beard aftershave tho, Raph taught him the tricks to the silk road.
~Them sideburns tho, neAT-O.
~He ain't got former training, just some random stuff he's learned from Donnie and Raph. Nontheless, he's the trickster and can go dirty on fighting just to save his ass. But sometimes, his big mouth saves his dumb ass from trouble. (2/100 times, the other 98 times it makes it worse)
~Plus: He's into parkour a lot. Takes Mikey out so he can tag some walls uphigh. These trips are the reason he gets in fights more than his other brothers, he's gotta stick out for his brother in case shit goes down, but mostly because he's a loudmouth and sometimes he deserves it cuz he starts the fire tbh.
The thing goes RAP - PHA - PHA
~ Raph, my soft boy. He still BIG™, ain't ripped like a physiculturist, gotta admit, abs are in fact chocolate abs but got a chunky yet funky tone to it. Big ass arms, to strong to carry my depression and smash all my worries.
~ Obviously African-American, I just imagine this warm undertone to his skin. Thick eyebrows (plucks out his unibrow, and nothing more, that natural angled eyebrow perfect as it is).
~ Hairy complexion (but not as hairy as Leo) to pull out a balbo beard, faded to his hair, then starts the faded high top, (not that high tho) with that cotton natural hair (raph is just my dream tbh).
~ My boy rocks denim everything. But got this particular worn off denim jacket he treats like one of his extremities. It's kinda saggy, old, several splashes of god knows what substances... But he wears it like the most precious thing, his brothers got him for his birthday, selling candy bars and other sweet goodies. Made him cry like a bitch.
~ Snaggletooth fang. I got this random HC that Raph got it in a fight with one of his brothers when he was younger. His first tooth after his decidious teeth, he was so happy, finally "maturing" in his words. In his younger years he struggled a LOT with angry issues, (mainly, as the oldest, he understood a little big more about the rejection above the city for mutants, and built up this feeling of despite).
One day, one of his brothers made him really fucking angry, they got in a physical fight, that ended with his crooked fang, but yet, Raph is BIG and he can't measure his strenght sometimes. Then, his brother is crying in pain, screaming how bad can he treat his brother, as if he didn't love them, just as the people above.
He wasn't angry cuz the teeth (cuz he showed it off, like it made him an adult already), he broke down because he was always feeling so damn angry, being the oldest and yet he was beating their younger siblings over some dumb shit and treated them like people in the surface would. Raph is challenged each day, when he sees his face in the mirror, with the tooth projecting outwards as reminder of all the rage he had to let go to protect their brothers, to make a change on his perspective and emotions, to keep their family and himself happy.
I think this mind set change was the thing that settled Raph as a leader. He got stronger, not physicially, but mentally and emocionally, for the sake of his family.
This HC can be translated somehow to the Human AU but i'm not sure the origin of Raph's rage yet.
~ Would wear any shirt that has anything he likes, PLUS if it is in red. He just loves red. He's the only one obvious with their color preference. Red caps, shirts, jackets, pants and tons of sneakers.
~ Likes jeans but loves that kind of bermuda cut shorts and not all the way down pants. He's got some C A L F S with capitals.
~ Luckily, he does wear matching socks. (We can't see Don's most of the time but Raph shows more leg so).
~Wrist wrist wrist wrist wrist wrist. Loves wrist accesories and probably would wrap around anything on his wrist.
~He's got that classic™ Rock Lee from Naruto bandages from training and work out and sometimes he's just to tired to take off the shin pads.
~Don't show em much but got some big ass brass knuckles in his pockets in case someone messes the fuck up with his brothers. (He would easily let go if it was just him, he's a master of templance, but be warned: not with his family)
Plus: Got one tatto, in his back, below the neck, this celtic rune (we know that celtic runes have several meanings, so he took one with various that would fit him) a Gebo, that can mean partnership, generosity and sacrifice.
DONNA TELL EM
~ For starts, Donnie is my asian bean. Creamy pale skin, monolid eyes, with that puffy under eyelid, of course noticeable dark circles, but he got that EYESMILE BOI. (You know that people who kept straight face but the eyes are just screaming happiness??? That kind of eyesmile)
~ Hair black, thin, straight cut (his hair is kinda wavy) at his shoulder's lenght, got that fade styling in the back tho, usually wrapped in a high ponytail/bun. (Mikey loves to mess with his hair).
~ He's got that thin eyebrow hair, so, he fills em up to make them thicker, so gives him more of an assertive feature. (Also he is jealous of Leo and Raph eyebrows, nontheless edge so sharp to cut a bitch) Got that hairless complexion so not much about facial hair.
~ Obviously keeps them THIGHS™. (So far, to me their complexion on the show is the same as in the human AU so... ) Jeans were invented to the sole purpose to fit Donnie so well.
~To wear, jeans are a go to, but damn sweatpants comfy AF. Big old sweatshirts, swearters and hoodies. Underneat, digs button shirts, short or long, never with flashy prints, yet some minor deco, (to him is all in the elegance....). Raph and Donnie share an interest on sneakers, so he can wear like 1 hoodie for 10 days straight but a different sneaker each.
~But wears missmatched socks like the fuck out of here BOI, looking neat and clean and you come out with this yeeyee ass bullshit.
~ Donnie hides the fact that he's riPPED under the hoodies and sweatpants often, (he's tall as shit and his brothers calling him spagethi bOI don't help much) so people make the assumption he's the weakest of his brothers. He's the only graduated on black belt on Karate and knows his shit on MMA. On his younger years he was indeed saved many times by Raph's strenght, Mikey's swiftyness and Leon's cunning. This "being the weak" complex got to his head and started training solo. His brothers are amazed of Donnie's self-improvement and he often disguises it as the "i did it so i wouldnt be the weakest, you better watch out when i supass yall" but they all know he suffered inmensely seeing his brothers hurt because of him, so if they go down he does too, to protect them.
Plus: Complementary headphones with neon designs, blasting nightcore, dubstep and DnB songs with every Donnie purchased.
BG:
In my AU, these kids grew up really poor. They learned the value of hardwork since they were really young. Like in the Teetle Universe, people see them as misfits. Especially, because they are a "patched up family" (they are not blood related) and being looked down by the economic factor, mostly.
They got some real internal issues. But, the only thing that keeps them sane is how tight their brotherhood is.
Donnie and Raph have a job and go to college. Struggle a lot with their younger siblings rebellious stage.
Leon and Mikey go to highschool and do some baked goodies or art comissions to have some sort of income. Ain't fond of school that much, real troublemakers.
April it's a freshman in college and has much more accomodated life, but somehow, she's always felt she doesn't belong to anywhere, until she meet our boys. April learns a lot of life hardships while hanging out with em.
This would be, basically the series:
April meets this guys, this is sort of a slice of life anime, with lots of comedy and fun shots, however it develops around April learning valuable lessons that will help her as an adult, about friendship, loyalty, respect, empathy and kindness, after all the things the boys are going through.
I'm not sure how am I gonna accomodate Splinter in this, but eventually I'll figure it out.
I'm not got at drawing but i'm gonna try to make some of their designs.

I’m just curious but why is season 6 your least favorite? My favorite is season 6. I’m so interested in knowing how people view content so differently so I would really like to know! :) I hope your having a good day/night!
Hey! First of all, thank you for being so lovely and respectful to ask for my opinion. I’m exactly the same as you and love to find out how/why people view things so differently to me, it’s all part of the fun!
There isn’t one specific reason season 6 is my least favourite, it’s a combination of factors really, so please bear with me, because this will be long and probably messy because I suck at structuring my thoughts cohesively in posts like this.
I think the biggest reason season 6 is my least favourite is that it’s so sloppy. Continuity was never the show’s strong point but season 6 felt like it was lacking in direction. When I was making the gifset of the season for the 30 day challenge I struggled to choose gifs because I couldn’t find specific ones that best displayed the overall story and main plots for that season. The main story-line that carried throughout season 6 was Chris’ and that’s another reason why the season is my least favourite.
I know that a large part of why season 6 is so popular is because fans love Chris’ character, but I think his entire story-line was handled terribly. It had a lot of potential, but it was so obvious that the writers didn’t really know what to do with him and didn’t have an actual plan, they were just making it up as they went along. That’s where the continuity issues come into play. There were so many plot holes in this story-line and so much ambiguity about the dark future that Chris came from. If Piper died when Chris was 13 (or 14, I can’t remember exactly) and Leo was never around who took care of him? If Wyatt was evil and living in the manor where did the rest of the family live? How the hell is it that the sisters didn’t find a way to save Wyatt? I just don’t believe that in any version of any reality the sisters wouldn’t find a way to save him. Every obstacle the sisters ever came up against they defeated and there’s no way they would have ever given up on Wyatt. We saw how much they worked their asses off to keep him safe in seasons 5-8, so it made no sense. Chris’ actions and behaviour also made very little sense and came across as bad/evil. Why did he send Leo to Valhalla? Just look at the damage doing that caused, it teared his family apart, broke his mother’s heart, left little Wyatt without a father and put the entire family in jeopardy. Why did he use Gith to create alternate realities that put all of the sister’s lives in danger once again? There was nothing to gain from doing that and even if he didn’t intend for them to die and tried to save them, his intentions are illogical and hardly pure. Everything about the way Chris handled things was flawed. If he was coming back from the future to stop Wyatt turning evil as he claimed why not come right out and tell the sisters and Leo that? He clearly wasn’t capable of taking on such a huge task by himself and he needed their help. It’s not like them having knowledge of the future was harmful, because they found out in the end anyway, so there was really no reason for Chris to withhold the truth in the first place. Generally, the story-line just wasn’t very well thought out.
Because it wasn’t well thought out, I also ended up disliking the way Chris was treated by the family and the relationships that he developed with them. The family treated him like absolute shit until they learned who he really was and suddenly they loved him unconditionally. Why did he have to be their blood before they started treating him with love and respect? The show tried to force Chris to be a part of the family and show us that he finally found a place he belonged, but I never believed it. It felt rushed and un-organic, and all of those issues Chris had due to the life he’d lived were never really resolved. He was so damaged due to Leo’s abandonment, Piper’s death, living in Wyatt’s shadow, growing up in a life consumed with evil that he wouldn’t just magically be okay the way he was. It was lazy to write him that way. Also, the ending to this story-line was incredibly unsatisfying and rushed. After everything Chris went through he died. Just like that? What the hell was the point of that? Essentially, the season was coming to an end and the writers had no further use for him so knew they had to get rid of him, but that was a very harsh ending. Not only did he die, he literally faded into nothing. Where did he go? If they saved Wyatt from evil that means the future changed and technically that version of Chris never existed, so he quite literally just stopped existing. That’s too sad.
Moving away from Chris and his story-line, I also disliked the sisters individual character arcs. Paige spent the entirety of season 5 trying to discover herself, but season 6 started out the exact same way with her temp jobs. Why give her the exact same arc she had in season 5? I did like that she got more in touch with her whitelighter side in season 6, but once again, she’d already started to do that in season 5 in Sam, I Am. Her relationship with Richard was pointless and did nothing for her character. From the very start that relationship felt volatile and unhealthy. Richard had too many problems and instead of trying to heal himself, he projected it all onto Paige by trying to make their relationship perfect to act as a band aid for how broken he was. Phoebe’s arc in the first half of season 6 felt exactly the same as season 5. It was about her career and relationship with Jason. Hyde School Reunion was probably the best Phoebe episode in terms of showing us how far she’d come, but Phoebe didn’t get the attention and time she deserved in season 6 at all. I also disliked what they did to her in the second half of the season by taking away her powers and making her obsessed with having children. I have no idea where that sudden obsession came from and it didn’t seem to fit with Phoebe’s character at all. Piper’s arc was what you’d expect of any female character that is a mother and was very wrapped up in Wyatt and Chris, which I can’t criticise. However, I don’t like what happened to her relationship with Leo. I was furious that she didn’t tell Leo she was pregnant with Chris and I generally didn’t like the complete lack of communication between them in season 6. Even if they weren’t together, they were parents and I feel like Piper and Leo were both the kind of people that would prioritise that above everything. Remaining on this subject, Leo was completely OOC in this season. Are we really supposed to believe he would be an absentee father that didn’t bother with his kids? I don’t think so. Yes, he was an honourable person that was duty bound and that’s why he left to be an Elder, but when push came to shove Leo was the kind of man that would give up everything in a heartbeat for his family, which The Seven Year Witch proved. I do like what they did with Leo in regards to making his character darker, and in fact, I think that was the best character arc of season 6. Leo was always such a level-headed character, but after what he went through in season 6 it made sense for him to go to the dark side, especially since it was connected to his children. Leo was a fierce father first and foremost and that consumed him in season 6.
Some other things that make me dislike the season - the introduction of Magic School (again, a good idea in theory, but it just didn’t fit and appeared out of no where), the treatment of Darryl (I still can’t watch Crimes and Witch Demeanors, it upsets me too much) and the lack of sisterly moments (the sisters are at the heart of the show for me and this is the first season I felt that was sidelined and forgotten). I don’t know what it is, but I just don’t like the entire vibe of season 6. It doesn’t feel like Charmed to me. There was a lack of togetherness and the sisters didn’t feel like themselves. I am also guilty of making comparisons between season 6 and the previous season. I love season 5 and what was built in that season - Piper and Leo’s relationship was strong and happy and they went through a beautiful process of becoming parents after wanting it for so long; Phoebe finally moved on from Cole, launched her career and matured in a new way; Paige found her place within the family, honed her craft and rediscovered herself. The family were a strong, cohesive unit that were loving and supportive, and all of them had their own journey’s in that season. When I compare this to season 6, season 6 didn’t manage to achieve any of that and actually derailed the development and progress that had been made in season 5.
Lastly, season 6 is my least favourite season simply because it has the episodes I enjoy the least. Every season of Charmed has it’s brilliant episodes and it’s not so good episodes but season 6 has the highest number of episodes that make me go “meh.” The only episodes I actually like watching from season 6 are: Valhalley of the Dolls, Little Monsters, Spin City and It’s a Bad, Bad, Bad World.
So yeah, that’s why season 6 is my least favourite season of Charmed. Thanks for stopping by to ask my opinion and I hope I didn’t bore you too much haha. I’d be interested to know why it’s your favourite season. Perhaps you can help me to find more positives in this season and see something in it that I may have overlooked :)

[ Mature ]
A complicated Leo X Leo relationship. No one is ready to compromise but no one wants to let go.
Cold. Prideful. Stubborn. Loner. Those were the words used to describe you. They were all considered negative except to one person.
Jiyong looked into the lit room and was surprised to see you in there. It was late at night, everyone was already gone. What was even more surprising was the way you had let down your guard. You had tied your hair up into a ponytail, exposing the back of your neck. It was so unlike you.
You liked to keep your hair down and look mature, sexy even. Rather than looking cute, with your hair up your chubby cheeks were exposed and made you get unwanted compliments. Cute girls tend to be approachable and you were anything but. You liked to keep people away, you kept yourself a mystery.
You turned to the side to look at your color sample board. It had many different colored hair samples that you had made while trying to find the perfect combination for Lee Hi. “Why did he suddenly change his mind” you sighed. Right before you could leave YG had caught you and told you about the last minute change. Before you had been told she would keep her hair the same color but now only two days before the music video shoot you were asked to come up with the perfect rose gold color. It was hard to do in one sitting so you figured it was best to stay and practice a bit.
Jiyong found himself standing in the doorway for a while until your cardigan had slipped off of your shoulder’s revealing the skin you always hid, the skin that wasn’t exactly pure. He could see a small piece of the white rose tattoo that adorned your right shoulder blade. He quietly approached you and lifted your cardigan back into place. “Don’t make me dress you if I’m not the one who undressed you” he whispered into your ear. His hand lingered on your shoulder, he ran it along slowly until he got to the back of your neck.
Shivers went down and up your body when you felt the warm touch.
He couldn’t help himself and kissed the nape of your neck lightly. His lips barely pressed against the exposed skin, he was teasing you.
You flicked your tongue before smirking. “I’ll just think of it as payment for all the times I’ve had to dress you.” You were strictly speaking of all the times you’ve styled him. Never have you slept with Jiyong despite the chemistry and sexual tension between you two. What you did do was mess around and tease each other.
“Your no fun baby girl.” He ran his hands down your back, around your waist and held you in place. “Lately you ignore me and I don’t like it.”
“That’s because you just love attention. You feed on it.” Pressed against him you could feel his hardness behind you. “I’m a cold-hearted bitch who likes to starve you to death.”
“It’s working because I’m just dying to have you.” He began kissing up and down your neck making your eyelids become heavy. The lust was kicking in.
You put down the sample that you were working on and took off the latex gloves that protected your hands from the hair dye. With one hand you let down your hair while the other was used to push Jiyong’s hands aside. “Sorry, Jiyong but I have work to do.”
When you walked around the table he was finally able to see your flushed face. Your blood had certainly started boiling with desire yet you were too stubborn to admit it. “If you’re going to keep being stubborn then I’m just going to have to show my dark side to you as well.”
Respectful. Kind. Genuine. That’s how the fans described Jiyong. Prideful. Stubborn. Aggressive. That’s how you described him when he was with you. He had his own negative traits that’s why he was able to see past yours. He pushed you against the nearest wall and let his hands move around your familiar body.
Even though you were biting your lip to stifle the moan that desperately wanted to come out you fought back. You pulled his hair making him look you in the eyes. “When has aggression ever worked for you?”
“It has to work eventually. A negative and a negative make a positive. The chemistry between us is perfect so even if we fight it we end up like this. That’s why I feel like we should stop fighting it.”
You laughed, during the span of a year you had done so much with each other except reaching the final goal thanks to both of your stubborn nature. When his hands roamed south of your body you stopped him. “Are you giving in today?”
Jiyong stopped, retracting his hand slowly he sighed. “No, I’m not giving in before you.”
“And I won’t give in before you.” You got down on your knees and fumbled around with his belt. You maintained eye contact as you spoke to him all while your hands undid the belt. “I can keep living like this.” Of course, this was just to get his blood pumping. You didn’t plan to satisfy him today. You let your fingers slip into the waist of his pants so he could feel your warm touch but that was it. After abruptly ending the contact you handed him his belt with a smile. “I’m off the clock so you can put that back on yourself.”
Jiyong smirked when he saw you go back to work like nothing had happened.
He wanted to see you, a proud cold-hearted woman, melt in front of him but it wasn’t so easy. You wanted to see his weak side as well that’s how the game began to see who would end up on top.
After Lee Hi’s successful change YG was so pleased that he signed you onto Jiyong’s world tour. All the stylists dreamed of being put in your position. You walked down the halls of YG after getting the news and thought of how you would survive being with Jiyong so long. It was easy when you were working with all of Big Bang but this would be Jiyong’s solo tour.
“I heard the good news” Jiyong walked up to you with a smirk on his face.
You didn’t know where he popped out from and were caught off guard. You saw people coming and gave a professional answer to him. “It will be a pleasure to work with you. Please take care of me.” You gave him a slight bow which furthered his amusement. After the halls were once again empty you put your hand against his cheek and inched closer to him so he could feel your lips feather against his as you spoke. “The rules still apply. Nothing will happen even if we are overseas where it is easier to hide.”
“Close your eyes” you instructed Jiyong as you sprayed a bit more hairspray onto his bangs.
The first thing Jiyong saw when he opened his eyes was your chest. You had worn a loose white tee that was pretty transparent. “I can see your bra.”
“I know” you responded nonchalantly. “You think I would accidentally wear a black bra with a white shirt, especially one this thin?”
“So it was for me to see?”
You nodded, “Just try not to touch.” You looked around at the people who were going about their business getting things ready for him. “We are around people after all.”
Through the mirror he could see the reflection of the male staff who were looking at you. They too were able to spot the bra that contrasted from the shirt. “This game is only supposed to be played by us.”
“It is.”
“There are others who are watching.”
You looked up and met eyes with those who had been staring at you. They quickly averted their eyes and went back to work. You smiled at one person who didn’t to make it seem like you didn’t know they were checking you out. “Yeah” you sighed “but they don’t get to touch.”
“I don’t either.”
“Not right now...” you trailed off insinuating he would get the chance to do so later.
You had just stepped out of the shower when you heard a knock at your door. “Come back later” you shouted not wanting the hotel staff to see you draped in a towel.
“It’s me” a familiar voice whispered loud enough for you to hear.
“Jiyong?” you asked.
“Open up before someone sees me.”
You quickly let him in and laughed seeing how covered up he was in comparison to you. He had a hat, glasses, mask, just everything he could do to hide his identity had been done. “Why are you here? You have sound check in an hour and I have to go meet you there soon.”
“That’s why I came. Look” he pulled off the scarf he had worn to conceal the purplish bruise on his neck.
“Did I do that?” You gasped when you saw the hickey on his neck. You swore you had been careful to avoid this exact situation.
“You need to cover it up before I leave.”
You sighed, “Sit, I’ll get my makeup bag.”
Jiyong did as you said and sat down on your bed to wait for you. When you came back out of the bathroom with the makeup kit he noticed you had managed to get dressed in the process. “Why did you change?”
You looked at him with one brow arched. “Because I’m not going to do this in a towel.” That was too much vulnerability for you. You laid out your makeup on the bed as you looked for the concealer. You squeezed a small amount on your ring finger and began patting it onto his neck.
Jiyong watched your bare face in awe. You didn’t look intimidating at all like this. His eyes were on your lips as a wet strand of hair had stuck itself near them.
Once you were done you faced him head on to see if it was well hidden. “Looks good” you smiled, involuntarily.
He found himself leaning forward, wanting to kiss you and you let him. Jiyong pressed his lips lightly against yours. His hands went up to hold you steady. This kiss was different from the rest. It was soft, tender, the opposite of Jiyong.
At first, you struggled to match the pace but soon you were melting into it. Your lips moved in a steady rhythm making your legs give out. Jiyong caught you without breaking the kiss. He reeled you in making you spread your legs and sit on his lap while facing him.
He stopped momentarily when he felt your hands working on the button of his pants. This is when you stopped and removed yourself from the situation. “Don’t you have to go?” you asked him scared that if this continued you would do something for real.
Jiyong’s face clearly showed disappointment. “Yeah, I guess I do.” He got up and left.
You sighed deeply as you recalled how your body moved without your consent. You didn’t even realize what your hands were doing, your mind was clouded by Jiyong’s slow tender kiss.
Jiyong groaned as soon as he got in the elevator. “So close” he whispered to himself as he shook his head. All he wanted was for you to admit you liked him so he could do the same. He wanted to be with you but his pride didn’t allow him to make the first step and neither did yours.
After the final concert Jiyong came to you tired. He sat down in your chair watching as you put away all your equipment. Most of the staff had gone back to the hotel already making it possible for him to talk to you alone in his dressing room. “Thank you for all the hard work.”
His thanks came so suddenly that you didn’t know what to say. “You’re welcome, you do know it’s my job to do this.”
“I know. I just appreciate you being the one who does it for me.” He gave you a smile, not a smirk, a smile. You cleared your throat trying to avoid getting into a situation like before was your main goal. “Do you want to go somewhere and eat with me?” he asked.
“I don’t think that’s such a good idea.” When you finished putting away the last of your stuff Jiyong remained in the chair. You didn’t know if it was okay for you to leave or if you had to wait for him. “Aren’t you leaving?”
“Why isn’t it a good idea?” Jiyong was going to let you go but when you turned around he decided to pursue. He got up and walked towards you with his usual cool demeanor. “Let’s go.”
“I can’t” you reminded him. “We can’t be seen together or people will think we are...”
“But we’re not...” a smirk grew on his face, “Or are we?”
You shook your head, “Not unless you say you love me.”
“Only when you give in and say it first.”
Now it was your turn to smirk. “I won’t be the first. That’s why I can’t accept your invitation.”
It had been a few days since he came back from the tour. He was expected to rest and be inactive for a while but that meant he wouldn’t get to see you. That’s why he decided to let YG know that he wanted to do something. “I’ll do a collab or variety show appearance, I don’t know what I’ll do but I’m going to be active.”
YG sat back surprised. “Well Jiyong you can do it but the staff is busy with the new projects.”
“That’s okay, I just need Y/N to be my stylist. If it’s her then one is enough.” Jiyong didn’t care if he made his true intentions clear to YG. He was allowed to have a personal life and so were you as long as you didn’t cause trouble to the company.
“I’m sorry Jiyong but Y/N already has a busy schedule.”
“Please just do me a favor one time and let her be my stylist for my next activity.”
“I’ll see what I can do.”
When Jiyong got down to the main lobby he spotted you saying goodbye to some of the other staff. You were on your way out of the building, pulling along your heavy makeup kit when you felt a presence. Looking over your shoulder you saw Jiyong walking only a step behind you. “What are you up to today?”
“Not much” he pretended to be passing by.
“It’s my understanding that you should be home today.” You stopped walking to take a look at him. “Did you miss me that much?”
Jiyong laughed, “Did you not miss me?”
“I don’t know” you shrugged. “Want to find out?”
“I do.”
“Y/N I would like to know if you were interested in styling Jiyong for the next couple of months.”
“I thought he was done with promotions.”
YG nodded, “Yes but he seems to be in the mood to work and will be making some television appearances here and there. With the IKON comeback and AKMU promotions I can’t really give up too much staff so Jiyong asked I send you with him.”
“He asked for me?”
YG nodded.
It was late at night when Jiyong was spotted roaming the halls. “Can I help you Mr. Kwon?” the receptionist asked.
“Do you know if there are still people in the styling department?”
She nodded, “Yes, there is one person who still hasn’t come down.” After a quick look at the sign in sheets the receptionist gave Jiyong your name prompting him to go look for you.
When he found you in a room alone he quietly slipped in and locked the door without you noticing. Your back was to the door as you looked through pictures on the computer screen. It wasn’t until you got up that you noticed Jiyong sitting on a couch close to the door. “Oh my god what are you doing here? You scared me!”
“I like your hair like that.”
“Like what?” You realized you had put your hair up and immediately let it lose. “You always sneak up when I’m alone.”
“When you are alone is when I get to see that pretty face of yours turn pink.” He patted the spot next to him for you to sit but you shook your head refusing to sit next to him.
“YG called me in today.”
“What did he say?”
“I think you know.” You approached him with narrowed eyes. It was frustrating that he kept showing you how wonderful he was. You felt yourself getting weaker every time. Playing this game was proving to be dangerous but you had to pull it together and play along because you couldn’t just stop seeing Jiyong. You wanted more of him but you wanted him to want you more than you wanted him.
You knelt down on the ground in front of him, placed your arms on his lap and rested your head on top of them. Looking up at him you smiled to try and get him worked up. “I was asked to be your stylist for tomorrow.”
He leaned forward so you were face to face. “And what did you say?”
“I said no.”
“Why no?”
“I don’t feel like my touch does much for you now. So I decided to step back for a while until you came begging for more.” You let go of him and placed your hand on the couch to get up but he pulled you back down.
You moaned in surprise as he started kissing you hungrily. You knew you couldn’t give him the upper hand so you went along and responded.
When your lips went to his neck Jiyong knew what you would try to do so he could stop. “Don’t leave a mark if you’re not going to be my stylist tomorrow.” You were now moving on to take care of the IKON boys at your own request.
You stopped the stimulation and got off of his lap. Sitting beside him you crossed your legs, causing your skirt to rid up further. If it weren’t for your pantyhose Jiyong was sure he would have a better view. “You’re so bossy Jiyong. Even though I’m doing all the work.”
“You are just teasing me for your own pleasure.”
“Did you want more?” You thought for a second how strange this was. You were used to him fighting back but now it seemed he was giving in and enjoying so you wanted to give him one last push. “I’ll stop.”
“What?” His heart dropped hearing those two words. He didn’t know why today his emotions were getting the best of him. He didn’t want it to stop. He liked this and he needed you to like it too. This whole time he held back wanting to drive you crazy but it seemed his holding back wasn’t working. You had complete control of him and he didn’t like that. He decided to let his actions speak for him now.
When you made a move to stand you felt a hand on your shoulder.  “Wha-” before you could ask what was wrong you were pushed down onto the couch. Jiyong stopped you from protesting the move by keeping your mouth busy with his.
The move was nothing new but what shocked you was when his hands took hold of your thighs. He put one on either side of him, his nails dug into the sheer nylons that adorned your legs as he held you in place.
Ripping them made you go into a panic. This was another Jiyong. He was showing desperation.”You have to stay with me.” His pride didn’t matter anymore, you mattered. “I need you.”
You were left speechless. No one else but you knows how hard it is for Jiyong to admit he needed someone. You broke him, now you had to fix him by giving him what he had wanted. “I need you too.”
-end-

Romagnoli, captain
Interview with Milan defender, between responsibilities and future goals.
by Davide Coppo
Accomplices the non-exceptionally brilliant questions of the sideline reporters at the end of the game, but also because of the cruelty of the format itself of those interviews, which claim words laid when instinctively they would only scream or silence, thanks to all this, usually not even the answers of Alessio Romagnoli in those circumstances they are distinguished by memorable contents. However, a certain character and an uncommon security are recognized. It responds in kind, responds quickly, responds with a safe voice and without moments of suspension. The respect while I enjoy the replays of his two consecutive goals in ninetieth, in October, first in Milan-Genoa 2-1, then in Udinese-Milan 0-1. A few days before we had met for this interview, in a loft on the Navigli in Milan, a day of intense rain like the one that wet Milan's victory against Genoa, and in front of the television I thought of the last thing Alessio had told me , the last sentence of the whole interview: "I always regard myself, I regard every game I make".
Among all the questions that are asked at the end of those two games, which imposed a turning point in this first part of the season for Milan, making the Rossoneri feel the scent of the Champions League, there is one (after Udinese-Milan) who manages to break the vigorous security with which Alessio Romagnoli usually expresses himself. "Is this the best moment you have been living in since you are at Milan?" They ask him. He, for the first time, hesitates, and smiles a little, then slips, saying "eh, it's a beautiful moment", then he thinks again, then admits that "so far yes". "But I hope the best is yet to come," he concludes.
It is not easy to decipher the character of Romagnoli, which on the one hand is that of a boy of very few words, but on the other he also knows how to be sharp and peremptory at the limit of the frightening.
Sometimes, and it often happens when a player starts to be a very young owner, one forgets the real personal data, and how impressive the experience accumulated over a period of time that still includes the last echoes of post-adolescence. Romagnoli, as I write, has exceeded 170 career appearances, of which 126 only with Milan, of which he is captain. And all this he did at the age of 23. But if on one hand it is a conscious type, on the other it appears shy. Perhaps not simply shy: it is not easy to decipher his character, which on the one hand is that of a boy of very few words, one who does not seem to love chatter very much and who would be called "simple", but on the other he also knows sharp and peremptory at the edge of the frightening. So when I tell him that I looked at the list of captains in the history of Milan, of those before him, Romagnoli almost won't let me finish: "Yes, I know, I'm the second youngest. First Baresi, then me ». I tell him that the captain's arm, on his arm, seems to have returned "home", in the wake of a generation of other historic captains. "This is a beautiful thing," he says, smiling. But you seem a little cold on this topic. "It's that I don't like talking about these things," he cuts short. Why do you think you're bragging? "Yup". Yet you are aware of who you are, where you are. "I'm aware of being a good player, but I don't like going around saying that I'm good at it." It is in this gruff shyness that one sees all his youth.
Let's start again, then, let's talk about things that are not very football, about easy and beautiful things, about what you like to do. It is said that Alessio Romagnoli has a passion for food. «I eat a lot, I'm a glutton», and spreads in a beautiful and childish smile. Alessio is from Anzio, not from Rome, and when I ask him where he prefers to eat, or what, he responds by emphasizing a link with his territory that is already quite marked in the accent: "When I can I go to the Castles". He is passionate when he talks about Anzio, Nettuno, his family, his friends today, those of football, and those of childhood. "I have several friends among the comrades and former comrades," he says, "but the friends of the past are always the most faithful. They take me to eat, they always book them », and therefore he doesn't think of any specific restaurant to recommend me for a gastronomic trip. Then he shrugs his shoulders: "But there the restaurants are all good, all right. Go to Ariccia and you're good ».
In Milan he moved very young, when he was just 20 years old. The impact was difficult, he says it a bit with a joke and maybe a little. "Milan? Tragic », then he laughs, plays down, says« no, joke, Milan is beautiful ». And he likes it to be a shy city, perhaps like him: "I like the education and attitude of Milanese people. They are very discreet, in Milan you can go around without asking who knows how many photos. It is known that the people of the north are different from us, and I see it as a positive thing. When I go around I prefer to be a boy of 23 who goes around ». However, there is something missing in his visual and emotional horizon. He makes a face as if to say "it's natural!", And he says: "It's that I've always lived by the sea!" I am well at sea, and those who live by the sea always struggle ». Genoa, then, was a perfect intermediate stage. "Yes, I lived between Bogliasco and Pieve, I had a house facing the sea."
"I started midfielder because I liked to score when I was little, but I think every child likes it"
Sampdoria was the first stop away from Anzio, far from Rome. Thirteen presences in two years of Rome, from 2012 to 2014, which turned into 30 in 2014/15 in Genoa after what in sports journalistic jargon is called "courtship", but in Romagnoli's case it was something more than a metaphor, because the phone calls with Mihajlovic had lasted for months, before the loan was signed. To this day he says: "Mihajlovic is the one who taught me the most". And among the comrades? At this point he thinks about it, then says: "Leo", meaning Bonucci, "and Giorgio", meaning Chiellini this time. But he is not convinced. "But I think the coaches teach you more than your companions," he cuts short. He, like goalkeepers and defenders, is not even born as a central. At the beginning, but here we talk about school, we played baseball, because in Anzio, or rather in Nettuno, baseball is the sport of the city. "The Americans brought it with the landing," he says, "and as a child I played with it, but only at school. There was an obligation. But I never liked it, it's too slow a sport ». Then the soccer schools: «I started midfielder because as a child I liked to score goals, but I think every child likes it. Then there were no defenders and then they slowly moved me back. But I didn't have the passion to defend at the beginning ».
"When you attack you can afford to make mistakes, to be more carefree. When you defend you have to be focused, understand in advance what the attackers want to do, even earlier, where the ball could come »
However, things did not go at all badly, given that when he was nine he called him Roma, and since he played very often in the categories reserved for the biggest, until his debut in the first team with Zeman. "To be a defender, you need to be more mature than to be an attacker," he says of his role. "Because you have to think before them, you have to understand them." I try to test it on his maturity. Have you always felt safe? He answers yes, three times. And the fear of going to the first team? "I wasn't afraid. Respect for older, more experienced players, but fear not. " Then, with a mechanism that I have already seen him use in the course of the interview, he plays down a discourse that was becoming too intimate smiling: "And anyway, football is a fun thing". Explain to me the concept of maturity better. "When you attack you can afford to make mistakes, to be more carefree. When you defend you have to be focused, understand in advance what the attackers want to do, even earlier, where the ball could come ». So far everything is normal, then it continues, and I tell myself that maybe I found a topic that he wants to talk about more freely: "It's a job that is above all head." So defending does not mean keeping on the defensive, isn't it a passive attitude? "No, on the contrary, he is very active. You must try to put yourself in a position that seems favorable to him, the attacker, but which is favorable for you instead. Most of the time we are the ones who direct the attacker to where to go, not vice versa ». In the end he was convinced to defend himself, he got used to it, he says, but there is one thing he likes very much, and perhaps here he still sees his old role as a director, or perhaps, again, the scent of an attitude which allowed him to become captain of Milan at the age of 23. So what do you like most about being a defender? "I can see the whole game. That I have a vision of everything ».
He goes back to being grumpier when I remind him of comparisons with Nesta. "I think comparisons are not the most beautiful thing in the world", and it is a lapidary phrase that leaves little or no room for replies. But I would like to flush it out, get it out of its shell of modesty, which is actually a shell of maturity for which a Milan fan should, I think, be very happy. So let's talk about that band of captain, how it ended up on your arm. "They told me when Leo left. A few days later. The coach comes and tells me: do you feel it? ". And did you say yes right away? At this point it melts a bit, for the first time, as I saw him do on television, and laughs. "Well I think the answer is obvious." But it is not obvious to take responsibility like this, it is not for everyone to know how to take them (and many players, finally, are talking about it openly, like Per Mertesacker, who admitted last spring that he suffered for years of performance anxiety). Romagnoli weighs the word responsibility by repeating it, "yes, you have more", he thinks, he continues, "but maybe they are only responsibilities at the media level, at the group level, in the field you do what you've always done. The band cannot be refused. It must be accepted with joy, not with fear ".
"The band cannot be refused. He must accept himself with joy, not with fear. But they are responsibilities at the media level, at group level, in the field you do what you've always done »
Milan also hides the emotions - "well by Milan it is always Milan, always an emotion, always an honor" - but it cannot hide its ambitions. It happens when I ask him how it was to win the Italian Super Cup against Juventus in 2016, and he only replies: "I won little, I know, but I hope to win more." But no, how was it? He resumes: «Beautiful, very beautiful. Nice because winning against Juventus is nice, and we were a team of boys. It is good to have a young group, we quickly make a group, we go to dinner together, we have that light-heartedness that we have when we are young ». That's how Milan's defense department is, it's young but it's close-knit. Romagnoli is keen to underline the importance of this aspect: «You must have total confidence in your fellow defenders and in the goalkeeper. You have to know the movements by heart ». So the Italian school of defenders is healthier than you think? "I think it's still the best in the world. The past ones have been, those present are, with Chiellini, Barzagli, and Leo, and I hope we will be future too ». And Romagnoli, what defender are you? Very simple: "I am one who likes to play the ball". But isn't there a risk of exaggeration, with this obsession with getting out of the ball? Simple, again: "No, it's normal to take risks." What do you want it to be.
And then we return to maturity, that of the defender and that of the person, of the twenty-three who is the captain. On the "young", he says that "it is true, there are some boys who think more about social networks than football". He is different: "I grew up in a group where the young people were the ones who carried the balloons, who carried the door. There was no hazing, but something a bit like that, let's say. Now it's changed, maybe it's not the boys' fault but the people around him ». He says he is a perfectionist - "very perfectionist" - and I also notice him at the end, when I ask him if a defender always remembers his mistakes. "Like?" He asks. Like when you missed Pazzini, during a game against Milan, and you were at Roma. «Pazzini to Milan? "Head shot?" He asks, but the question is rhetorical. "And how not! But mistakes are made, they experience. They are part of the route ».

Hyde’s Core Characterization
The writing and characterization on That ‘70s Show is inconsistent, but one can come up with a core characterization for each of the main characters based on a selection of episodes that define and depict them consistently. The characters’ personalities, goals, and feelings can -- and should -- be complex, as long as those complexities are substantiated by consistent actions and subtext.
I often write about certain behavior and choices I consider OOC for the characters. I do so because I’ve formed my understanding of their core characterization from a specific set of episodes. I write my T7S fanfic from this understanding, too. When a character acts contrary to previously established beliefs/feelings/behavior without a proper grounding for that contradiction, I consider those actions OOC.
My understanding of the characters’ true natures isn’t the only valid one. People can form their own understanding from a different selection or interpretation of the episodes.
But below the cut is a list of S1-S4 episodes, with explanations, from which I’ve formed my version of Hyde’s core characterization. I don’t list episodes from S5-S7 because they either confirm, further, and deepen what’s already been established -- or they evolve/devolve Hyde’s character based on his core.
“That Disco Episode” (1x07) = Not for the Hyde/Donna stuff, but for how Hyde interacts with Red and Kitty. He clearly has a trusting relationship/history with both of them.
“Sunday, Bloody Sunday” (1x10) = We learn some significant info about Hyde’s political beliefs. We also learn Hyde smokes cigs.
“Career Day” (1x18) = We see Hyde’s unhealthy relationship with Edna, learn about their history together, and see how both deeply affect him. We also learn that Eric’s the one he trusts the most. He seeks Eric out when he’s on the verge of tears after Edna’s latest berating of him.
“Prom Night” (1x19) = The first ep where Hyde’s compassionate, noble, self-sacrificing, protector-of-the-vulnerable  nature is depicted. Also where he experiences/sees Jackie as more than an annoyance the first time but as human. And as beautiful. Once he agrees to go to Prom with her, he does everything he can to make the night special for her and to make her feel better … even getting her back together with Kelso after all those eps Hyde wanted Kelso to break up with her. ”Punk Chick” (1x22) = We get more about his relationship with his mom and how oppressive it is to him. We also learn that he’s attracted to a girl’s personality first when it comes to someone he’d actually consider a relationship with (and not just a screw).
“Hyde Moves In” (1x24) = We get a lot about how Hyde deals with trauma, his survival instincts/abilities, and his relationship with Eric. We also see how he cares about his friends and people, in general (he brings everyone to his house when they’re all naked and lets them wear his – and Edna’s – clothes). He’s concerned when Jackie can’t find anything to wear. We also see how much Hyde fears/respects Red. ”The Good Son” (1x25) = Hyde’s gratitude. He doesn’t have an entitlement issue, which he could have, considering his background. He shows himself to be the opposite of the lazy good-for-nothing his mom always claims he is. (I totally believe he continued to do chores without complaint after this ep.)
We also get more of his self-sacrificing nature. He tries to take the blame for the busted TV, even though it could mean he gets kicked out of the Formans’ -- whereas for Eric it would just be a grounding. But Hyde got to live at the Formans’ because of Eric. He feels gratitude toward Eric, too, and obviously feels responsibility for Eric’s jealous and idiotic behavior. So he wants to protect him from Red’s wrath. ”Garage Sale” (2x01) = Hyde’s impish nature. Making and selling the special brownies. But also attempting to make up for his mistake (letting the parents eat his second batch of special brownies) by helping Eric get the Vista Cruiser back. Hyde’s also got a bit of an ego on him. “I rule!” he says after Eric tries to teach Hyde about consequences; but since Hyde had helped get the Vista Cruiser back, the consequences were nullified.
“Halloween” (2x04) = We learn a lot about Hyde’s childhood and his intelligence, etc. Also, the J/H interaction is golden.
“Vanstock” (2x06) = We learn that Hyde isn’t happy about Kelso cheating on Jackie, his conflict about ratting him out, and his solution (“laying traps left and right”).
“Sleepover” (2x08) = Hyde gets a job and gives Red and Kitty the money from his paycheck. Even though he claims he wants to be lazy at work, he’s the one who gets Leo to stop slacking off. This episode reveals a lot about Hyde’s true nature, same as “The Good Son” does. He doesn’t want to be a financial burden on the Formans, and he takes action to be less of one. He could’ve kept his money for himself (and I’m sure he kept some to pay for his stash), but he gives the majority of it to the Formans.
“Eric Gets Suspended” (2x09) = Further proof Hyde smokes cigs. We also get confirmation that personality trumps his physical type when it comes to dating girls.
“Red’s Birthday” (2x10) = Hyde listens to Donna’s parent woes, shows her compassion, and shares his own experiences and feelings about when his parents’ marriage was breaking up.
“Burning Down the House” (2x15) = Hyde’s treatment of Kat Peterson. He’s rather sweet with her, considering she’s just a fuck for him and vice versa. He could’ve slapped her ass outside his bedroom door and sent her on her way, but instead he walks her to the basement door and gives her a goodbye kiss/hug type-thing.
We also see his low self-esteem (which will eventually get better during his relationship with Jackie). He calls Kat choosing to be with him “slumming it,” and he also continues to be with her once he learns he’s a secret she’s keeping from her friends. He clearly doesn’t have a lot of respect for himself during this point in the show.
“Eric and Kitty’s Night Out” (2x18) = We learn about Hyde’s emotional process. Hyde’s initially rattled that Patty chose Fez over him. He resents it, in large part because Hyde “taught [Fez] everything he knows “ He clearly likes Patty (beyond just a screw) and doesn’t understand why she doesn’t like him back the same way. A person’s self-concept can be rather complex. Though Hyde does have low self-esteem, largely thanks to his parents, he also considers himself “a real catch” on some level – at least in comparison to Fez. (One can reasonably theorize that Hyde spoke to someone (maybe Kitty) after “Eric Gets Suspended” and/or  “Burning Down the House” about dating, and maybe she called him, “A real catch.”)
Hyde doesn’t take long to leave his resentment behind, however. He says, “Maybe I should just be happy for Fez. I mean, it's the first time in his whole life that he's ever had a girl, you know?” His friendship for Fez ultimately trumps his ego and resentment, and that takes a measure of emotional maturity and compassion. Hyde and Leo’s connection (they were both abandoned by their families) and relationship is solidified in this episode, too.
“Kelso’s Serenade” (2x21) = Hyde’s compassion is in full-effect here. He finally understands how hurt Jackie is by Kelso’s betrayal. It’s no longer amusing to him, and he chucks his loyalty to Kelso out the window and tells Jackie she can do better than him. He comforts Jackie both verbally and physically (not sexually). He puts his arm around her and strokes her hair—Jackie’s hair. This is a significantly characterizing moment for her, individually and in terms of how he regards/treats Jackie.
This is also the third episode where Hyde’s depicted as someone for whom personality trumps looks when it comes to romance. After rejecting her romantic advance (i.e. kiss), he tells Jackie, “See, I myself don't like you. I find you abrasive. But if I didn't know you, and I'd never talked to you, I'd think you were totally hot.” He doesn’t find her attractive because (what he’s experienced of her personality (thus far) rubs him the wrong way. But by the end of this episode, he accepts a kiss from her and characterizes her as nice to Kelso and Fez.
“Jackie Moves On” (2x22) = Hyde is protective of Jackie, even when she’s not present.
“Holy Crap” (2x23) = We learn Hyde’s views on organized religion.
“Cat Fight Club” (2x25) = If one wants only one episode to base Hyde’s characterization from when writing him, this is it.
He’s depicted in this ep as someone who is perceptive about other people’s emotions and how they operate. We learn about how he protects himself from people trying to invade his boundaries—and by teaching Jackie how to do the same, he makes himself vulnerable to him. His compassion for and protectiveness of her—and for vulnerable people, in general—is again evident. He makes himself less safe to help her become safer, which reconfirms his self-sacrificing nature.
“Moon Over Point Place” (2x26) = More Hyde complexity. Jackie’s begun to idolize him, thanks to the events of “Cat Fight Club”. Hyde rejects her friendship to protect both himself from her and her from himself (I explore this in Welcome to Hydeville). He gets arrested on her behalf because a) he’s protecting her from an experience he doesn’t think she can handle or should go through and b) she wouldn’t have felt compelled to prove herself to him by bringing him pot if he hadn’t rejected her, so he’s taking responsibility for a situation he believes he caused.
This is yet another episode where his self-sacrificing nature and his protection the vulnerable is depicted.
“Reefer Madness” (3x01) = And another episode where his self-sacrificing nature and his protection the vulnerable is depicted.
Hyde continues to protect Jackie, even though it means becoming homeless (i.e. Red kicking him out of the house). He could tell Red and Kitty (and Eric, etc.) the real reason why he’d gone to jail, but he doesn’t. He accepts his fate, and he also doesn’t want Eric getting in trouble on his behalf.
“Hyde’s Father” (3x03) = Hyde’s anger at and relationship to his (step-)father. Bud neutralizes Hyde’s eight years of anger by offering him a beer and taking him to a strip club. Bud spent years narcotizing his own pain, and he reinforces this unhealthy coping mechanism in Hyde. This is the start of a toxic relationship, and Bud hitting Hyde up for rent money cements it.
Red sees the problem and warns Hyde, but the wounded part of Hyde who’d been abandoned by both parents needs to try a relationship with Bud, regardless that it’ll probably be toxic.
The love between Red and Hyde is also depicted  in this episode.
“Baby Fever” (3x07). Hyde’s emotional maturity is shown in this episode. Jackie damages Kelso’s van, and Kelso wants to calculate how much he owes Jackie monetarily vs. the cost of repairing the van. After the results are hugely in Jackie’s favor, Kelso isn’t happy, and Hyde says, “You could’ve been a man and forgiven her, but no. You wanted to do the math.”
Hyde’s dialogue in the circle characterizes him significantly as a feminism.
“Jackie Bags Hyde” (3x08). This episode furthers Hyde’s characterization as a feminist.
He’s very protective of Jackie. He tries to vet Chip, to make sure he’s safe for her to date. He finds out Chip doesn’t respect Jackie at all but views her only as someone to serve his sexual desires. Chip also calls Jackie a bitch, and Hyde knocks him out.
Of course, we also learn definitively that Hyde has developed romantic feelings for Jackie at this point, but the show doesn’t explore this fact afterward and doesn’t acknowledge it once Jackie and Hyde’s romantic relationship begins in S5.
“Kitty’s Birthday” (3x17) = Hyde’s protectiveness of the vulnerable. Caroline is stranded at the Hub at night. Hyde barely knows her, but he offers to drive her home and does it.
“Eric’s Depression” (4x02) = Hyde’s compassion and love for Eric. Eric is too depressed to go to Funland, so Hyde says he and their friends will hang out with Eric in his room. Fez doesn’t want to do that, but Hyde frogs him as a message that Eric needs them more right now than Fez needs to go to Funland. Hyde leaves only when Eric rejects the company.
“The Relapse” (4x06) = Hyde comforts Donna about her mom having left the family. He holds her lovingly (not romantically) for quite a while listening and talking to her—and also while being silent. He makes a few jokes, too, in an attempt to make her laugh. This is a significant scene that shows his true heart.
“Hyde’s Birthday” (4x23) = We learn more about Hyde’s extended family. We also learn that Hyde believes the Formans’ support is temporary and that his prospects for the future are limited. Red disabuses him of both beliefs, and Hyde starts to accept that he’s part of the Formans’ family.
“Eric’s False Alarm” (4x25) = This episode shows Hyde’s loyalty to Eric and, perhaps, protectiveness of Donna—if one goes by what Hyde tells Donna in the next episode. It also characterizes Hyde as someone who doesn’t like exposing his heart and as someone who lies about his true motives to protect himself.
“Everybody Loves Casey” (4x26) = Hyde tries to talk sense into Donna about Casey.

VICTUURI FICRECS
last updated: 2017-01-30
I’ve read a SHITTON so here we go,,, hope u like it
Will probably be updated semi-regularly as I continue to delve into the ao3 tag.
MULTI-CHAPTER
Maelstrom
by feelslikefire,  43682, time-loop!au
“Victor Nikiforov is poised to win gold in his fifth consecutive Grand Prix Final. He has the world at his feet, is unparalleled in the sport--right up until a snowstorm blows into Sochi, and he finds himself repeating the same day over and over and over. He stumbles over Yuuri Katsuki, and everything changes.”
I absolutely adore this one. There is a quiet and mature tone to it (even though it’s started off by a weird witch lecturing Victor). And the decriptions are so good it felt as though I was there with them. I read the first paragraph and I knew that this was going to be good.
Until My Feet Bleed and My Heart Aches
by Reiya : wip, 126945 , rivals!au
“Hatred and love are two sides of the same coin and even though everything changes, some things are still meant to be.”
Already a fandom classic, this is a monster of a fic that really handles it’s characters with love. Nothing feels unmotivated and the descriptions are so good it’s crazy. The rivalry is handled beautifully and it exceeded my expectations by a large margin. Emotions done right and very engaging(!). Worth a long and rewarding read.
Constellations (Things You Left Unsaid)
by DasWarSchonKaputt : wip, 22346, role-reversal!au, college!au
“What is Katsuki Yuuri’s greatest asset when competing? If you ask the media, they’ll tell you it’s his flair for artistry, something that shines through in his earnest, winning performances. If you ask Yuuri, he’ll tell you that it’s his coach, Celestino, and the answer will sound as fake as it is.
The truth, though, is something that Yuuri has always known. He wouldn’t be half the skater he is without his prescription for anti-anxiety medication.”
Victor as a 18-year old soon-to-be senior debutant and a master of seduction is right up my lane. Add the long hair and the unwillingness to conform to gender norms and you have perfection. Loving the articles in this fic and use of chats and social media. Cozy college au.
Are you a library book? Because I can’t stop checking you out.
by AriWrote : wip, 8183, bookstore!au
“Yuuri works at his family’s bookstore. Viktor is his favorite author. Somehow he doesn’t realize the cute stranger making eyes at in him in the self-help book section is his idol. Yuri just really wants a break.”
Just as cute and light-hearted as it seems. Phichit is an absolute darling in this and I’ve fallen so hard for Yuuri as a bookworm. Reading this was like the fic equivalent to sipping a pina colada at the beach. Like taking a vacation. Truly lovely.
SkateSquad™ groupchat
by stxmph : wip, 47122 , au
“pikachit added katsukidon, vitya, RussianTiger, Leo♫, and (gay)uanghong to the chat.
pikachit renamed the conversation “ SkateSquad™ ” (groupchat log of the skate squad)”
This fic is (almost) entirely in the style of a groupchat. It’s messy, the author is overly self indulgent and it’s often kind of inconsistent but at times so brilliantly funny it makes the flaws pale in comparison. I’ve been up laughing late at night just because I couldn’t stop reading.
I’ll Give You My Heart
by Aliis : wip, 14009, soulmate!au
“In a world where people’s hearts are displayed on their chests, broadcasting to everyone if you’re looking for your other half or you’ve found them, Victor Nikiforov was a bit of a rock star– he’s twenty seven years old and his heart is still perfectly whole.”
In a fragmented and poetic way this story is heartaching. Heartbreaking even. It follows the canon storyline somewhat (Victor is Yuuris coach etc) within this very interesting take on soulmates. One of the first fics I subscribed to on aou, which says something, doesn’t it? Over all wonderful and it’s definitely one of my favourites.
when the ice melts in the snow (that's when you'll love me)
by lilithiumwords : wip,  47179, demon!au
“Katsuki Yuuri is the worst incubus in the Underworld. Viktor Nikiforov is his human target.”
Yuuri is a demi-sexual sex demon and have never really felt desire until he gets assigned the human (or is he...) Viktor. (But don’t expect too much explicit sex. We’re seven chapters in and they still haven’t had sex yet). It works. Really well, actually. So well I stayed up way to late because I felt I needed more. My headcanon is that Yuuri is somewhere on the ace scale and I really enjoy when I find someone with the same idea?
(offer me) that Deathless Death
by melonbug :  wip, 15580, curse!au
“It was the curse he and his family were fated to: Death would come for him the moment he turned eighteen, and he could only hope the flimsy wards passed down through the generations would protect him. But Death always won eventually, Death would snatch him up as he had all of his ancestors.
But somehow he wasn't what Yuuri had expected. He was a constant presence in his life, barely there. A vigilant spectator to his burgeoning skating career, a gray haired man with a soft expression who found him again and again, waiting for him to let his guard down, but becoming something more, over time.
"Don't be careless," his sister told him, but they were all careless, in the end.”
In which Yuuri learns to live with Death over his shoulder. I love the premise and its wonderfully executed. It feels ancient it feels real and the descriptions is sometimes so wellwritten its absolutely crazy.
Strawberry Bubblegum
by rightofpostponement : wip,  20455, soulmate!au, (semi)canon compliant
“Smile, skate, win. Wash, rinse, repeat. It grew so mundane, after a while. Years and years of being at the top inevitably soured the view, no matter how beautiful. Victor was tired; tired of trying to surprise people, tired of living without love, and tired of making history without anyone to share it with. It takes one night, one dance, and 16 flutes of champagne for Victor's life to be flipped on its head.”
Cuties! Lovelies! This is basically a collection of sweet, amazing, wonderful romcom cliches. They have a playful pillowfight (that grows intense u kno what i mean), Hiroko embarrases Yuuri with baby pictures. Heck, they even go go disney world! Toothrotting.
Looking for Courage
by icterine : 17035, soulmate!au, college!au
“Victor’s soul rejoices with their meeting. A fleeting attempt to steady a drunken stranger sets his heart afire. It’s all he’s ever dared to wish for. (Yuuri meets his soulmate and forgets.)”
Just as the author says, “there can never be too many soulmate aus…”. Especially if they’re all as well written as this one. The characterization in this is absolutely wonderful. The clueless Yuuri, the hopeless romantic Victor. The pacing is great and I love love love Chris (and Phichit) in this one!
a great desire to love
by lily_winterwood,  21724, body swap!au
“For some strange, inexplicable, fantastic reason, Yuuri Katsuki and Viktor Nikiforov are trading places.
Kimi no Na wa AU.”
I went into this fic having no idea what kimi no na wa even was and boy am I glad I did. I finished this in record time. Intriguing, exciting, action-packed.
The Courtesan
by haganenoheichou : wip,  25,448, courtesan!au, dystopia!au
“Viktor is the most popular Courtesan in Hasetsu House. He is beautiful, he is graceful, he is everything Yuuri has always wanted to be. Except Yuuri is an Untouchable virgin at the age of twenty-three and a universe-class klutz. What happens when Viktor takes an interest?”
This authors worldbuilding is really freaking cool! Some influences from things like ‘Memoirs of a Geisha’ mixed with a dystopian future such as ‘the Hunger Games’ (the civilians clothing and luxiurious customs) with a sci-fi setting. If you, like me, are a sucker for stuff like this (starcrossed lovers with talk of galaxies) it’s pretty awesome.
ONE SHOTS
i have my body (and you have yours)
by astoryaboutwar : 8147, soulmate!au
“Yuuri overflows with the weight of things that have been said, trembles with what remains.Their shared zeroes flicker in time, the early morning light muting the red glow to faint numbers. In the amber dawn, an idol is only just a man.
(Or: the Soulmate Timers AU where things happen out of order, secrets are kept, revelations are had, and they arrive where they need to be in the end.)”
I remember being absolutely smitten when I first read this and I still see why I described it as “words strung together to create a fucking symphony”. It’s poetic, heartbreaking, beautiful.
the lounge
by fan_nerd :13453, therapy!au
“Dr. Yuuri Katsuki is a psychiatric therapist in Detroit who specializes in alcoholism. The last person he expects to see in his chair is retired figure skater Victor Nikiforov, whom he used to idolize.
Victor is a very different man than the one who’d been subject to the constant flashes of cameras in the prime of his life. He is broken, and so terribly human.
But then, so is Yuuri.”
Strange concept maybe but executed skillfully. Cute story about two lost, middleaged, men who find eachother, Cameo by my favourite mom Yuuko as a sweet tea-drinking 40-year old.
cover story
by fan_nerd :   8210, roommates!au
“Yuuri stares down at the person standing in the doorway. The stranger hisses, “Who do you think you are, anyways?”
Quickly, before he can really think about it, Yuuri responds, “I’m Victor’s boyfriend.”
It’s a lie, but the words feel good in his mouth, and for some reason, he doesn’t want to take them back.”
Yuuri is a workaholic that needs a place to stay. Victor is the playboy looking for a roommate. The relationship is painfully gradual in this but when they do get together, oh, is it sweet.
leave the banner there
by sixpences :  2904, canon compliant
“"Victor has a crush- a full-blown, goofy-daydreaming, struggling-to-sleep-at-night crush.“
Victor pines, entertains his rinkmates, and wonders what the heck to do with himself.”
Short and sweet read. Pining Victor and fun russian rinkmates. I think I really needed Victors pov post-banquet and this helped me fill the gaps.

Azald is singing to the tune of "True to Your Heart" now... and apparently, so does Yamato! Only on the 45th episode of Zyuohger. And yes, just three episodes left, everyone...
NOTE: A quick reminder, starting last week, I've changed the format of my weekly recap-view. So don't be alarmed if you found this one to be less detailed as well. That's just how it works now... :)
- Very early on in the episode, our Gorilla Zyuman Larry's warning immediately comes into play. Zyuoh Bird loses his strength as soon as he performs his grandiose-looking (and still personal favorite) "Glide Feather Slash" to the Moebas. Making him an easy target for Azald now. - Following Tusk's guide, Mario cooks a specialty dish called "Jungle Rice" for the Zyuman. All because he's curious and wants to learn about the Zyuland culture, fulfulling his new role as Zyuoh Human. This is nothing but another aggravating reason why the show should've let Mario in with the secret much MUCH earlier. It would have been more fun to see him learning the ways of the Zyuland, while the Zyumans are doing the same to Earth's. IMHO, THAT could've been a great approach the show could and should've capitalized very early on. The assimiliation of different cultures from different worlds is a massive potential of exploration on its own. The fact that they are saving it 45 episodes later only succeeds in making me scratch my head. - As if continues to remind us that the finale is near, Lucky / ShishiRed of the upcoming "Uchu Sentai Kyuranger" has been officially shown in the opening. After all, the Versus Movie has already premiered last Saturday, so technically it's no longer a spoiler (at least to those who have seen that movie). Gaaawd, that design looks nice, doesn't it? Especially the 'starry-sky' visor area. The same sequence also hints that Bard appears in the movie. Depending on when this movie takes place (before this episode, or after the series ends), this fact can be considered spoiler. Then again, it's more likely that the event on the movie takes place during the year end-New Year break though, which explains why Misao had those promotional... er, I mean pairing cards last week. - Wow, Azald has the ability to enter Zyuoh King Octopus' not-really-that-crowded cockpit area. Likely due to the Zyuoh Cubes that are trapped inside his body. Similar to Kubar, Azald suddenly gets an increase in ability, which means his time in the show shouldn't be long now. There are only 3 episodes left anyways. LOL. - I was quite curious to know how that piece of blue cube from Azald's body would be explained, and turns out that's where Larry comes to play! Obviously he's the smart elder type who does scientific analysis and research, so it doesn't take long for him to connect the dots and pieces the puzzle together. He deduces that Misao's Zyuoh the World gadgets were created from the same substance! I've completely forgotten that it's an unsolved mystery until now. This means things are all coming together. Hmmm... you know what? Similar to Mario, I think Larry is another character who should've been incorporated more in the show. Imagine what kind of contributions he could provide if he's working as the team's official support! By the way, Misao's fishing chair has a "Nice Day Good Fishing" written on it. Japan and their Engrish never ceases to please me. LOL. - I love surprises. Nope, let me correct that. I love PLEASANT surprises. Especially when it comes to storytelling. Eventhough Zyuohger has managed to give me minor ones several times, it is so unfortunate that Super Sentai is a franchise known to reveal too much too soon, making things almost seems too predictable. A good example of this? The next episode's preview practically spoils the fact that Bard and Yamato's estranged father are familiar with each other. If I'm guessing correctly, rescuing Bard must've been the reason why Mr. Kazakiri arrived late to see his wife on her death bed. The exact fact that made Yamato resented his father so much. That might also be the main reason why Bard is somehow compelled (and perhaps, obligated) to protect Yamato at all cost. Acting as some kind of surrogate-father, considering he's partially responsible for the whole father-son rift. That's my theory for now, let's see next week whether it is sound or not... - Speak of the devil (in red), it's very fitting that Amu's the one who confronts Yamato about his father. After all, she was the one who immediatelly noticed the tension between Yamato and Dr. Kazakiri at the hospital (episode 42). Proven over and over again as the most observant Zyumans of the team, we also need to remember that Amu is the closest one to Yamato in terms of personal feelings. This goes way back from episode 3! Of course, it does feel a little awkward that Amu has risen to be the more mature character than Yamato, especially when it's so late in the game. I guess that's the result of keeping Yamato 'vanilla' too long. Amu calmly reminds Yamato that he and his father 'sound alike' in terms of personalities. Like father, like son. Not to mention, she's able to blatantly give an inspiring advice by relating to her own situation. Feel free to argue, but Amu is definitely the best-written character in this show! - Hmmm... child Yamato somehow reminds me of Youko Usami / YellowBuster of "Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters". I'm not sure why. I mean, they look so alike to be called actual siblings. Speaking of comparison, I've been watching "Mirai Sentai Timeranger" concurrently, and starting to notice several similarities between that 24th season (that comes right before 25th anniversary... "Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger") and Zyuohger. Smart green, rambunctious yellow, cool blue, and mature pink? Swap the future members with Zyumans, and basically you have the same set. Complete with a 6th member who started out as antagonist and struggles with friendship. It even has an episode with an MotW polluting the sea (Timeranger's episode 27). The one that made me took notice however, is how Yamato shares a very similar father issue to Tatsuya Asami / TimeRed. Interesting, isn't it? - It's the 2nd time in just one episode that a death flag is shadowing Bard. Just like Kyoryuger's Torin/ Kyoryu Silver, it seems his time as a Sentai hero might be shortlived. Really, the only thing that will surprise me if this show ends with Bard being left unscathed. Also, the interruption bits have already gone tired by now. Every time a character wants to tell something important, the Dethgaliens alert ruins the moment. In this episode, it's when Amu wants to say important advice to Yamato, and when Larry wants to tell Tusk, Sela, Leo, and Misao about Bard's condition. As for the latter, why can't Larry just shout it as fast as he can before the gang heads out to battle? I don't think it'll waste much time just to say one effing line of "Look after for Bard, he might not be able to hold out his power as Zyuoh Bird". At least, that's how I would write it. - Mario has a fun meeting with Larry, but to be honest, his reaction is a little exaggerated. He should've been okay with Zyumans after knowing the secret, right? Then why does he has to look a bit wary when approaching Larry? As if he's some kind of wild beast. And that banana thing feels a bit unnecessary. Is it because, he's a gorilla? Certainly not because he's black, right? Hmmm.... - It only takes 45 episodes for us to finally see a 7-members transformation and roll call. A little late, but nice... I guess? Afer all, high chance we might not see it again in the next episodes. Better get used to big roll calls too, since we're going to have a fully active 9-members team starting next month! LOL. Need to point out one thing though: at least Zyuohger's penchant for balance in group pose is praiseworthy. Unlike Ninninger with its odd assymetrical group pose, Zyuohger always gets it right. This 7-members version in particular, looks really good due to Yamato being positioned in the center. Yes, it would look much nicer had Bard has a different design, and not just recolor, of course. I guess that's probably the reason why Yamato utilizes his Zyuoh Gorilla form right away. - This might be a wrong reaction, but I actually laugh when the 4 trapped Zyuoh Cubes returns to the four core Zyumans' hands instead of Zyuoh Bird. In a convenient color-appropriate manner too! Bard was the one who spent his time to locate those, right? LOL. Also, I initially thought Zyuoh Bird is going to transform into an orange Zyuoh Whale. Apparently that's not the case. No point on making a completely new suit for the occasion, right? He just used up the last of his energy to fire that "Zyuoh Final Deep Lock" blast. A futile attempt to seal Azald. - Yep, Azald's true form becomes full circle with the Zyuman history, as the blast only jogs his hidden inner memory. He's none other than that terrifying enemy that Cetas, the original Zyuoh Whale, had to sacrificed his own life to seal (episode 28). I must say, I really appreciate this direction, because as "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." always used to say, "It's all connected". A long game that I didn't even see coming! Then again, Azald's Voice Actor Jouji Nakata has played Great Professor Bias, the big bad of "Choujuu Sentai Liveman" before. So it makes perfect sense that he's playing someone important here. What an amazing nod too (Nakata also started out as secondary villain before he portrayed Bias). Just look at the true Azald, in just a single demonstration of power, every Zyuohgers are knocked out cold! Even Naria looks genuinely scared. - Unfortunately... judging from the looks of things (as in, the preview, what else?), it seems this powerhouse Immortal Azald is going to bite the dust in the next episode. And well... that might be another misstep. Why? Obviously because despite the underwhelming attempts to showcase his threat-level, I don't feel Genis is up for the task to be the final big bad. Way too predictable, I must add. Right now, I would've liked it better if it's an ancient God of Destruction who becomes the last threat for the show. Of course, that idea can still play out, so it's still uncertain for now. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what really happens next....
Overall: Intense, might be the best word to describe this episode. Not just physically, but also emotionally. For Yamato at least. Was it a great episode though? Not quite, as I have pointed out some flaws that prevented it from getting higher score. The good thing though, because the seeds have all been too-patiently planted throughout the course of the show, it's time to reap one payoffs after another. I do honestly enjoyed seeing things coming together, eventhough there are some plot points (like the discrimination between humans and Zyumans) that might seemingly be tossed aside for convenience sake. Still, looking at it from a positive perspective, if the final three episodes can keep it up at least on par with this one, looks like we're in for a proper finale. Next week: Immortal Azald & Genis. Bard & the stoic Doctor. It's Yamato's daddy issue Part Trois (and Final?)...
Episode 45 Score: 7,7 out of 10

this is how you introduce a new fandom
#yoiweek2017 Day 1 (Le Parfum Des Fleurs) - beginnings and firsts
Or, how Yuuri was convinced to watch an anime based on his life.
(stories on (and off) ice)
.
It was both flattering and mortifying, Yuuri thought, when a story based on your life and love suddenly skyrocketed in popularity like gossip spreading like a forest wildfire.
He sighed as he watched his sniffling husband from the kitchen. Viktor was crying over yet another episode of this "original fantasy action anime about a no-good mage who meets and falls for the number one ice wizard in the continent." It was really good, they said. The animation was beautiful, the story was riveting and the romance was done perfectly right.
Don't get him wrong; he appreciates a good story as much as the next person does. The love and care and attention to detail that went into the creation of this latest sensation was clearly evident in every frame drawn and every line spoken. It was, no doubt, a wonderful work in its own right. It was even considered by many as a revolutionary piece that broke barriers and made history.
What Yuuri did not appreciate -- and certainly did not expect (though he should have, given the circumstances) -- was the hordes of rabid fans and insatiable tabloid writers that practically crash the door and breathe down his neck every single morning since the first episode aired, and seemed to multiply exponentially by the week.
Chalk it up to very observant people to put two and two together, and your high-profile whirlwind love story is revived and retold again on almost every website and social media platform in existence. The side-by-side comparisons went up to eleven when the seventh episode featured the two leads kissing before the cheering stadium - just like how Viktor, his coach at that time, had kissed him at the Cup of China a mere three years earlier.
The fans became a lot more persistent that day, he recalled. Even the casual passers-by recognized them now. "Oh my god, it's so-and-so! From that show!" (Yuuri could not be bothered to recall the names of the characters.) Viktor eagerly responded to this by kissing him soundly on the lips in public - again.
As always, the Russian's attempts at getting him to watch the new episode together failed spectacularly that night.
.
Yuuri and Viktor were not the only ones whose lives have changed because of the show. Yurio, for one, started receiving hate mail from all sorts of fans - mostly fujoshi, from what he had gathered. Messages ranging from "damn Mudblood" to "inferior Valentin-wannabe", or colorful variations and combinations thereof, began filling the reigning World Champion's inbox at such an alarming rate, he'd actually changed his phone number and locked all his social media accounts by the time the fourth episode had aired.
("I don't even watch that shit," Yurio had lamented in frustration through a private Skype session. "And even I know that Mudblood's from a totally different fandom! What's wrong with these fucking people?!"
That's what you're worried about? Yuuri had been tempted to say out loud, but he'd kept his mouth shut. Maybe it was just the stress of the upcoming Grand Prix Final talking. The men's short program event was the next day, after all. Other than that, he'd completely sympathized with the angry blond.)
Fortunately, the messages stopped when the current episode aired half an hour ago. Yuuri knew at once when his ringtone for Yurio began playing from his pocket and Viktor tearfully joined him in the kitchen at the same time as soon as the livestream finished. "Let's have katsudon pirozhki tomorrow!" he exclaimed, his eyes shining brighter than usual. "To celebrate Julian finally befriending Yoichi!"
"Okay, Viten'ka," Yuuri shrugged, knowing better than to correct his husband on the in-universe pastry the show's tritragonist had just offered the main character. How they even knew about that event between Yurio and himself at Moscow was purely anyone's guess. ("This show is a work of fiction. Any resemblance to real-life persons, places and events is purely coincidental," indeed.)
The phone's vibration gradually increased in intensity as the ringtone segued into the annoying screechy guitar part. (Yuuri never learned how to switch it back after Mila had fiddled with it back when they were in St. Petersburg.) "One moment." He fished out his phone and answered the call, expecting another loud tirade on why the hell he didn't pick up sooner. Instead, he heard heavy breathing over the line, seemingly accentuated by the static.
"... Finally..." Yurio started, his voice unnaturally subdued for someone supposed to be angry. "... They finally stopped..."
Yuuri knew where this was going. "Congratulations for holding out for so long, Yurio," he answered with all compassion. "Are you celebrating tonight?"
"After all that trouble? Of course I am!" The blond loudly harrumphed. "Beka and I are having katsudon pirozhki tonight!"
Viktor immediately snatched the phone from Yuuri's grasp. "Yurio! I didn't know you watched Glassheart, too! Isn't it wonderful?! Who's your favorite character besides Julian? Mine's Yoichi, of course!"
"HELL NO!" Yurio snapped. "Get off my case, old man! Go talk to Chulanont or something!"
Viktor nodded back excitedly, still on an all-time high post-episode rush. "I will! I'm handing you back to Yuuri now." He gave Yuuri the phone back, planting a kiss on his cheek before returning to the couch to call Phichit.
Yuuri put the phone back to his ear. "It's me again... Actually I'm also making katsudon pirozhki for lunch tomorrow. It's been so long; I have to prepare."
"Figured as much."
.
What Viktor usually meant by "call Phichit" was to open their Skype group for figure skaters who also liked Glassheart. (Yuuri made sure to remember the title now after much persuasion by his husband, lest he gets mobbed by his other friends online, too.) It was a video conference, as always. It didn't take long before the conversation went into full swing, so he played a selection of everyone's skating music from the last few seasons so he would not hear any spoilers.
The beginning lines of "Shall We Skate" was cut off momentarily as a chat bubble appeared on the home screen. It was from Phichit, Yuuri noted, as he pressed a button on his headset to resume the audio playback and lower the volume.
phichit+chu: hi yuuri! long time no chat!! :))
Me: Hello, Phichit!
Me: It's only been a week, though?
phichit+chu: lol same thing
phichit+chu: so have u watched glassheart already??? :O
phichit+chu: its 3/4 done now, u got some serious catching up to do :)))
(Typing...)
Me: I haven't, sorry.
Me: Viktor's been asking me to watch it with him, too.
Me: I just can't seem to get into it as much as everyone else.
Me: I guess it hits a little too close to home for me.
Yuuri stopped typing. It was evident Viktor immensely enjoyed the show, even more so because it was obviously based on their own real-life relationship. He'd been a fan since day one, tweeting his thoughts and reactions every week. Now a good nine episodes in, his follower count had shot up to the mid-hundred-thousands and counting. Fans of both the show and figure skating were very much excited to have the Living Legend (and real-life inspiration) on board, and soon he became known as the "Prince of the Fandom" - the King, of course, being the original author.
Many a fan had once asked if Yuuri watched Glassheart, too, seeing as he was the other significant person involved in the story. Viktor handled these questions himself since he knew the Japanese man did not like being associated with the show, albeit not as vehemently vocal about it as Yurio was. (That had almost become a total PR disaster, if not for Yakov's timely intervention with a total media blackout for the young Russian skater.) Yuuri himself chose to stay quiet about it as he went about his daily activities, avoiding requests for interviews and comments pertaining to the show. However, the increasing guilt for putting his husband through this situation in his place, combined with a genuine, slowly-piqued curiosity brought about by many, many messages from various fans, made him reconsider his stance on the matter.
Above all, he missed spending time with Viktor. Sex was one thing, but quality time like this rarely presented itself throughout their respective busy schedules. So maybe...
  phichit+chu: awww thats a shame :((
(Typing...)
phichit+chu: its actually why i watch the show. it does so many things right. i love how it showcases a mature, healthy romance done right, just like ur love story with victor :')
phichit+chu: at least u would like the action scenes??? they remind u alot of figure skating
phichit+chu: guanghong likes the fighting and magic scenes actually. leo loves the ost
phichit+chu: sara and mila have a crush on the mc yoichi ehehe ;))
phichit+chu: dont tell them i told u tho
Me: Haha, don't worry, I won't. :)
phichit+chu: just give it a chance okay? u might like it :')
Me: I'm still not sure. Maybe if Viktor can effectively convince me. ;)
phichit+chu: listen to ur hubby, man ;)) listen to ur heart :))
Phichit stopped responding after that. He must be active on the Skype conference now. Yuuri walked out to the living room, and could hear Phichit's boisterous laughter from Viktor's phone as they discussed the ending scene at the kingdom's harbor. Mila was now attempting to pry details out of her former rinkmate about what went down when they reunited after the Rostelecom Cup three years ago.
"No comment," Viktor answered, a secretive smile playing on his lips. "That's between me and Yuuri only."
"No fair, Vitya!" Mila cried foul. "You know he's never gonna spill! How will we make comparison notes now?"
Viktor hummed back amusedly. "Well, I'm not helping. Good luck with that, Mila."
Phichit and Leo also whined at this, while Guanghong tried to placate them. Sara merely laughed in the background.
Yuuri, too, was laughing softly.
.
It was several hours before the airing of the last episode when Yuuri surprised his husband over dinner. Viktor almost spit out his water when he asked if they could marathon the past eleven episodes while waiting for the finale.
"I guess I'm kind of interested now, with all the hype going on," he confessed, picking at a piece of meat with his chopsticks. "If you're not busy tonight, of course."
Viktor beamed at him, his eyes gleaming ecstatically. He would have hugged the bespectacled man right there and then, if it weren't for the table between them, so he settled for reaching out to clasp Yuuri's free hand, his wedding ring reflecting the white light hanging above them.
"I'll always have time, my Yuuri." Viktor smiled at him tenderly, the silver fringe over his left eye parting ever so slightly as he tilted his head. "I love spending time with you."
Yuuri closed his eyes, feeling somewhat absolved of whatever it was that had been weighing him down. He entwined his fingers between Viktor's, returning the smile with a fond one of his own before letting go. "We should hurry, Viten'ka. I don't want us to be late."
Viktor nodded and resumed eating. The couple finished their meal in silence, the excitement palpable between them, even as they put away the tableware and washed up for the night.
The laptop had already been set up when Yuuri came out to the living room, bringing with him a large blanket and two steaming cups of hot chocolate on a tray. (Not the bedroom, he'd insisted earlier. They might fall asleep.) Viktor clicked on a few icons before invitingly patting on the spot next to him. Yuuri places the tray on the low table next to the laptop, spreading the blanket to wrap around themselves with before joining his husband on the couch.
"I knew you'd come around eventually." Viktor nudged at his shoulder, winking playfully. "I've waited for so long, you know."
"Good things come to those who wait," Yuuri intoned, the old English adage rolling perfectly on his tongue. He leaned in and rested his head on his husband's shoulder. "Shall we?"
"Of course." Viktor tapped on the spacebar, and animated snowflakes began filling the screen.
The opening theme was captivating, the positive lyrics daring the listener to dream big and aim high. The instrumental parts and the repeating refrains were really catchy, and Yuuri caught himself humming along even after it ended. Viktor was humming along, too, albeit at a faster pace. Yuuri smiled; he loved hearing his husband sing.
It wouldn't be an exaggeration if Yuuri said the first episode blew him away. They did not hesitate to set the tone of the series with a healthy mix of fast-paced fight sequences, colorful spells and lightning-speed attacks (which, yes, did resemble figure skating spins and jumps a lot), all tied together by a dramatic narrative that tugged at the heartstrings and pooled tears in the eyes.
Yurio would have enjoyed this show, he thought. It's a shame all that stuff happened to the poor boy before he could even give the show a chance.
They were not kidding when they said Glassheart was totally (albeit loosely) based on his and Viktor's story. Watching the interactions between the leads Yoichi and Valentin, Yuuri could not help but wonder at how well the creators have captured their own dynamics as coach and skater back then, and adapted it perfectly to a medieval fantasy setting. He started daydreaming about icicles forming at his fingertips, easily manipulating their form into whatever he wished. He had been mentally sculpting a still image of Viktor and himself floating in the air when the fourth episode ended.
Viktor was now chuckling as his on-screen wizard incarnation drunkenly hit on the poor bespectacled mage a in the tavern, while said mage's friend gleefully cackled before a floating magic sphere. "And there goes Match Number 55," he explained. "I never really understood how notorious Phichit actually was about these things until this episode aired."
Yuuri responded with a curious hum. He knew better, having been the Thai's friend and rinkmate for longer. On another note, Viktor and the others have apparently been keeping track of the similarities between this show and real-life happenings. Yuuri declined the offer to read through Phichit's detailed masterpost on it later.
His heart soared when Yoichi managed to win his first match at the Wizards' Tournament, even attempting to cast Valentin's signature spell, the Glassheart. It was only for a short moment, a far cry from the powerful attack the legendary ice wizard had unleashed on the dragon in the first episode. Still, Valentin had been so happy and so proud, that he had kissed his protégé before the audience right there and then.
Beside him, Viktor was in tears again. He'd already stopped giving any form of commentary at this point, in favor of "feeling the feels," whatever that meant.
Yuuri sipped his drink slowly. He wished tonight would never end.
.
The final episode closed with a shot of Yoichi and Valentin standing on the bridge where they had first met, the former now also sporting the uniform of the Royal Wizard Regiment, a silver badge pinned on his breast. Both characters shared a tender kiss, before the screen panned up and faded out to the words, "ab hinc in aeternum" -- from here to eternity.
No sooner had the livestream cut off than Yuuri turned his attention to his husband, who was currently a beautiful, inelegant mess. It reminded him a lot of the time he'd inadvertently shattered his then-coach's heart into pieces by declaring his intentions to retire after the GPF in Barcelona. Though Yuuri's own heart had ached as much, he was glad they'd had that conversation at all. They'd both learned so much from it, and had grown stronger, as a result.
He put an arm around the sniffling Russian, running his hands up and down the latter's shoulder in a slow, reassuring motion. After several quiet minutes, Viktor reached his own right hand up to clasp his, their wedding rings bumping against each ther in their entwined fingers.
"Duo corda," he whispered, referring to the new spell the two leads had created by fusing their Glassheart spells at the last moment in order to defeat the final enemy. It was a beautiful yet destructive spiraling of two columns of living ice, which culminated in a giant arrow that pierced through the monster's impenetrable barrier and stabbed it right through the heart.
More like, "the power of love," actually, if Yuuri dared to have any say in it, but the hot tears brimming on his own eyes said otherwise. He did not expect this anime to make him laugh and cry as much as it had over the past four hours, but it did its job nonetheless and went way beyond that. (Then again, though, the Japanese skating legend was very much known for having a more fragile heart than most other glass-hearted figure skaters everywhere. Or, at least, Viktor had said so.)
So he settled for repeating Viktor's words, reciting from memory the broken Latin phrases that constituted the love song that constantly played during tender moments between the wizards in love. Somewhere along the moment, they had switched from somewhat-butchered Latin to a more-practiced Italian as they softly sang segments of Stammi Vicino in unison.
Yuuri looked up at his husband, poking his head out of the blanket. "Not going to post anything tonight?"
Viktor stopped humming, pursing his lips in mock-deep thought. "I'll do that tomorrow," he finally decided. "I have a lot of feelings to process."
"So you do," Yuuri agreed, observing the already-dried tracks of tears down the other man's cheeks. "What about Phichit and the others?"
"I turned off my phone, actually." Viktor laughed, holding up the dark gadget for his husband to see. "Tonight is Yuuri-time," he added with a flourish, gesturing as flashily as he could from a cramped space, almost dropping the phone in the process. Yuuri caught it just in time, a bubbling feeling of euphoria welling up from deep within his chest.
"If that's the case," he began, "then I have an idea."
Yuuri fumbled for his own phone, opening his barely-used Instagram app. He angled the camera to include an aesthetic shot of the powered-down laptop, the two empty cups of chocolate, and both their legs entangled together. Viktor buried his head into the crook of his neck upon reading the caption, holding the other man to himself tighter than ever.
"You're one sappy romantic, Yuuri Nikiforov," he commented, his shuddering breath as he exhaled tickling Yuuri's neck. "You never cease to surprise me."
Yuuri smiled proudly, bringing his husband closer and kissing him gently. "I learn from the best."
