The thing that frustrates me the most about BNHA is that a whole movie exists that shows why Izuku should have friends outside the hero industry and how damaging it is for him to be always on the lookout and how healthy it is for him to let go of that burden and be an actual teenager and quite literally touch some fucking grass, but they don't do anything with that. The happiest Izuku has ever been is probably with Rody and his siblings and somehow you have to root for him to fight and win a war????? No!!! The bit works as intended, dragging a surprised laugh out of you. You throw a hand over your forehead dramatically, chasing away the worst of your flush. “Ahh, my hero! Ready to slay the threat of an extinct creature! How exactly will you fell the terrible beast? Shall your tear it asunder for me, torn betwixt like a sheet of fragile paper in your powerful grasp?”

“Of course!” He replies without missing a beat, gleefully sincere. 

You pause, staring blankly. The mental image of Sun tearing apart a bear with his bare hands for you is both comical and viscerally horrifying. Whether or not he actually could is another matter, but you completely believe he’d try if push came to shove.

Somewhere, in the back of your mind, you’re sure he’d succeed. You shudder.

"everything pathologized about the inferior groups / rejected as what's Wrong with their existence so as to "cause" these dynamics is "take 4" b/c this is from me trying to write about winston quant kid 2 billions like holy shit a series operating on this logic huh, giving this unvarnished expression of this perspective b/c it's assuming (& requiring...) we all have it. winston is constantly responded to as Guy Who's Out Of Line. the "superior" parties who hate him & get to have him as their punching bag / hit with the butt of the joke / at least ignored & excluded, but taken advantage of, but who all have to Stay In Line, how's that going for them even when it comes to the writing, where characters can't do anything if it's too disruptive of the In Universe hierarchy, unless it's a finale zone for a permissable shakeup, where ppl insulating/supporting each other being a bit Out Of Line is not a problem b/c they individually recognize each other's transcendently True worthiness in thee objective hierarchy we all assume exists, but definitely can never disrupt the out of universe hierarchy, e.g. the show decides wendy is the true hero, b/c she deserves to be. taylor has to hire back dollar bill & stand back while wags & wendy take the lead & the spotlight & hate the autistic guy they hired & show up so the Winner, who was written into the show with nothing to do but tell taylor they're not quite as good as wendy & then provide a vagina amidst otherwise being an Everyemployee who fails to even differentiate from an Axe Cap style everyemployee, can announce their winningness detached from anything that actually happened ever.

(plus! the role winston plays in them getting as close to this as they ever can be!) but then in the end taylor's just shortchanged b/c when it comes time to take down a central man as thee main thing all season, series finale style, they should be knocking it out in a few episodes with sacker & philip. instead we focus on wendy given the helm & fucking around all season. after disposing of winston b/c who even needs him for anything, this is Stay In Line times, and to do that we can do nothing w/autistic people but hate them & punish them for being undeserving. but don't worry b/c he doesn't get to be so Out Of Line as to easily cause problems for them & thwart them, b/c he just doesn't. taylor waits around on wendy & tells her she's the best b/c they just do. we are all in line on all of this ourselves so whew, there's no Disruption to notice if that key Alignment is maintained. rian was never holding herself Above winston if we just really tentatively suggest she doesn't think that she was, while letting every double standard at play be acted out. rian being "out of line" was that she wasn't being aggressive enough about any of her Superiority, b/c if you didn't leave bruising then nothing was That Bad; cue the assaults and boundary violations Reserved for the inferior losers as fun times & nothing anyone is beholden to with Consequences, we don't even make the viewer stick with the consequences of how it affects the target a second too long, lest you start to think it's Drama & not Jokes.

#stranger things #gay mike wheeler #i know i keep talking about this analysis but i am SO EXCITED ABOUT IT YOU GUYS #pouring my current gay pain tm into it #not in a 'im just projecting' way bc its all analysis rooted in the show rather than in my own hc/experiences #every day i become more of a gay mike truther simply bc of how its intertwined with mikes character but also w the st narrative and metaphor #as a whole #god i just have so much to say about this #seriously this is gonna be my best analysis yet #the vanishing of will byers one is gonna be good too but #w that one i dont quite have a firm 100% conclusion of exactly what happened bc i dont think well get that until s5 #bc im JUST barely missing some details to fill in some gaps and so i think theres new lore we'll get in s5 that fills those gaps #but when it comes to the gay mike analysis #i HAVE a conclusion that i am firm in #like not in a 'i can totlaly predict mikes actions in s5' way #but in a 'i am so sure that he has been written as gay since the beginning and that in order for st to be resolved narratively and- #-metaphorically then mike has to be gay' way #and in a 'im Pretty Sure we can figure out s5 mike but i cant be certain bc i cant see the future' way #but the gaps that are there in the will vanishes theory arent there in the gay mike theory like i dont need to wait for New Lore to fill in #gaps. its just that i cant be 100% sure of ANY predictions until s5 simply bc theres always gonna be that 1% chance that the writers do smth #random/pull a fast one on me #but anyways im rambling but #gay mike not only fits from an analysis perspective imo but also #personally has a lot of meaning to me and is special to me bc i relate to a lot of it #but again in removing my personal experiences and just doing an analysis based on what we see in the show #*im #like genuinely if i thought that mike was anything other than gay based on what we see in the show i would happily admit it bc i just want #him to be happy and be in love with will at the end of the day. but i dont think thats the case like im so sure hes been written as gay from #the start. anyway. much to think about im just #very excited abt this analysis

had a nice long cry over the fact that the tour I've been waiting to go to with my best swiftie friend for four years is no longer selling any tickets. almost puked a few times in the process. now I'm gonna spend the money I would've spent on concert tickets ordering delivery for chicken tenders instead.

#i turned off every twitter notification except for taylor‚ taylor nation‚ ticketmaster‚ and tom hiddleston #ive contacted the DOJ and signed a govt petition about TM's unfair business practices/its monopoly on the industry #and i plan to email my representatives over the next few days to urge the doj into investigating them #but i dont expect it to do any good. a judge ruled in their favor in the 90s and they'll do the same in the 2020s #i can't return all the rhinestones i bought on etsy for my Bejeweled costume for tour but ill return the corset i was gonna use... #... and the things i got from Michaels on Saturday. ill keep the shorts i was gonna use to make her The Lucky One outfit tho #maybe ill finally get to make and wear it when im 40 #i guess I didn't have to pick up all those extra ahifts after all :/ #im just waiting for Taylor Swift (or even her management team) to acknowledge this.
