Build Newcrest Legacy 3.0

I was looking for a more recent version of this challenge and couldn’t find it so... here we are!

Special thanks to Simply Vanilla Sims and Queenarella for the original and 2.0 versions ♡

General Rules:

Avoid gameplay cheats.

Complete generation aspiration, build(s), and goals before moving on to the next generation.

The heir moves to a new lot at the start of the generation. Move again if multiple builds are expected for that generation.

The goal is to build Newcrest, but many of the newer packs have world specific locations, so travel for aspirations, high school, college, or work is allowed.

Feel free to use the gallery for builds!

Generation 1: Hungry Herbalist

Your founder is at the start of a long journey, but what is a community without an outdoor space to share?

Aspiration: Freelance Botanist

Build: Park

Pick any lot in Newcrest. This will be the Park when you finish generation 1.

Career Options for the Founder:

Gardener (Botanist)

Self-Employed (Gardener)

Generation 2: Friendly Family

What does it take to build a community? More families is a start!

Aspiration: Big Happy Family

Build: 1 Starter Home, 1 House that’s worth less than 40,000 Simoleons, 1 Residential Rental with each unit worth between 10,000 and 20,000 Simoleons (pick 2) 

Career Options for the Heir:

Detective

Freelancer

Painter

Scientist

Rental Owner

Handyperson

Generation End: Move 2 families into the homes or units created during this generation.

Generation 3: Steadfast Student

Whether they had a formal or informal education, your heir knows that the community deserves a bastion of books and knowledge.

Aspiration: Academic or Bestselling Author

If you don't have Discover University, pick Bestselling Author.

Build: Library

Career Options for the Heir:

Law

Education

Engineer

Writer (only with Bestselling Author!)

Goal: Reach level 10 in your career

Generation 4: Gifted Gourmand

Education is all well and good, but your heir believes food is the heart of a community.

Aspiration: Master Chef

Build: Café, Restaurant, Retail, Thrift and Bubble Tea Store (pick 2)

Career Options for the Heir:

Culinary (Chef)

Critic (Food)

Self-employed (Food Stand, Restaurant, or Retail)

Generation 5: Hysterical Historian

Honoring the past with a light heart, your heir brings levity to even the hardest subjects.

Aspiration: Archaeology Scholar or The Curator

If you don't have Jungle Adventure, pick The Curator.

Build: Museum

Career Options for the Heir:

Critic (Arts)

Entertainer (Comedian)

Self-employed (Archeologist or Collector)

Goal: Exhibit your artifacts (Jungle Adventure) or collectibles in the museum.

Generation 6: Lucky Lineage

Looking at all that’s come before, your heir can only dream of the greatness that’s to come.

Aspiration: Super Parent or Successful Lineage

If you don't have Parenthood, pick Successful Lineage.

Build: 2 Houses between 40,000 and 150,000 Simoleons

Career Options for the Heir:

Stay-at-home parent (making money from hobbies is encouraged!)

Generation End: Move 2 families into the homes created during this generation.

Generation 7: Pleasant Partier

What is life without living!? Your heir is determined to bring some excitement to the community.

Aspiration: Party Animal

Build: Bar, Karaoke Bar, Lounge, Nightclub (Pick 2)

Career Options for the Heir:

Entertainer (Musician)

Style Influencer (Trendsetter)

Social Media (Internet Personality)

Goal: Reach level 10 in your career

Generation 8: Benevolent Busybody

With such an illustrious history in Newcrest, it only makes sense that your heir would would be involved in everything.

Aspiration: Leader of the Pack or Neighborhood Confidante 

If you don't have Get Together, pick Neighborhood Confidante.

Build: Recreation Center or Pool

Civil Designer

Conservationist

Doctor

Politician

Goal: Reach level 10 in your career

Generation 9: Delightful Dreamer

Your heir knows that love is all you need.

Aspiration: Soulmate

Tiny Home Build Challenge

This is the challenge I got from the random generator:

And this is what I did:

The house itself is 6x10 (60 tiles), the front steps are one tile, and the sized-down willow tree takes up one tile, for a total of 62.

To me, Newcrest has pretty much the same aesthetic as Willow Creek and Magnolia Promenade, so I just went with that. Not sure if this is really "in the style of Newcrest" or not, but we're saying it is.

The build came in way under budget at $26,333

It was meant to have space for one adult and one child, so here's the shared bedroom, divided by a half wall, with the kid's area on one side and the mom's area on the other:

Last but not least, the bathroom, where I put the required item which was Body Care Essentials:

This was an interesting challenge, although maybe not as fun as I expected. I don't feel like this is my best build ever, but considering that I tried to use as many base game items as possible and the fact that I couldn't really landscape the yard, I'm reasonably pleased with the result.

I have no idea what I'm gong to do with this build, to be honest. It's sitting there in Newcrest right now, and of course I've saved it to my library. It has two or three CC decor items, but could easily be CC-free, so maybe I'll pop out those CC things and put it on the Gallery.

Anyway, this was a way to pass an hour or two. Not sure if I'll do it again, though.

The First Fight

Ricardo was spending the weekend with Penelope. They had managed to get Rosalie down with a fair amount of ease and were spending some quality time together while they could.

"Hey, Pen?" He asked.

"Shhhhh, hold on, I'm doing some of my best work here."

"No, we need to talk about something, it's been eating at me."

With a heavy sigh and uncomfortable loins, Penelope pulled herself away from him and cleared her horomone riddled head. He didn't look pleased. She bit her lip and twisted her hand around her wrist.

"Okay, Ricky. What's up?"

"When are you moving home?"

Penelope rubbed her forehead. Not this again. He had brought it up several times over the last few months and she'd done her best to skirt the question. Maybe being direct with him would have been better but she had hoped he'd just take the hint. She had hoped he knew her well enough to know she was home. She had hope he would just drop it already.

"Ricky--"

"You cannot possibly think you can stay out here forever, Pen." Ricardo's voice was starting to pick up emotion, intensity. He was positively simmering. "You barely have electricity. You don't have a real bathroom. For God's sake, Pen, Rosie doesn't even have her own room!"

"Yeah, well, I didn't exactly come with a lot of money when I was fleeing the Harpers, Ricky! I had to start somewhere! Do you know what I'm making off my flowers? I've been saving everything I can. I'm so close to being able to afford a proper house here, you just have to have patience with me. We're going to have a wonderful home!"

"You think I'm going to move out to the middle of nowhere? I never agreed to live out here in the boonies!"

Penny just stared at him in astonishment. Maybe he wasn't the only one who was assuming things they shouldn't have.

"You...you don't want to live here with us?"

"I do want to live with you, both of you. In civilization. Not in the middle of absolute nowhere. My parents have been robbed of their grandchild, Pen! Did you even think of that? You were so busy trying to rob your own parents of their grandchild, you didn't stop to think you did the same thing to mine! My parents have always loved you, Pen, how could you continue to cut them out?"

"Well, I mean, they didn't love me when they found out I was pregnant."

"Who was happy with the situation!?"

How did this happen? Penelope thought. We were having such a good day, how did we start fighting?

Ricardo was huffing in his anger, staring at her.

"You owe it to them, to me, Pen. You have to move back."

"I......"

"What?"

"........I think you should leave, Ricky."

the insides not furnished at all, but i’m so proud of this i wanted to show it right away. the outside alone took me forever so i already. know the inside is gonna take forever. it’s mostly cc free with the exception of a few things.

i love it. also sunblind by @softerhaze literally changed my life. it’s so beautiful. all these screenies were taken with it and edited w/ my preset. even unedited they were gorgeous.

upstairs there are 4 bedrooms, 1 for children, a master bedroom, and 2 for teenager or kid.

I've left all but one of the lots unoccupied so you can choose your favorite house to play in.

Nobody lives in this house.

Ive had this story on hold for a while, this was the last post I was yet to post when Rue finally gets a dog. Since then, I have had to remove this family from the save and put into a new save due to the updates as it became bugged.

The challenge: do it using only build and buy elements from the base game, and minimal CC

I took a few liberties with the design, due to the game's limitations, but I'm pleased with how it turned out. All custom content is my own, with one exception (a floor pattern by @peacemaker-ic)

The larger gable at the top is a functional room. There's also a basement. In total it has 5 bedrooms and three bathrooms.
