Olivia Wilde is in talks to make her feature documentary directorial debut with the nonfiction studio XTR.
The doc will chronicle the storied, star-filled history of one of the world’s most iconic 1970s music venues. The under-wraps project has been in development for about a year, and more details are coming soon.
“Olivia and I met around 15 years ago and worked together in Haiti after the [2010] earthquake,” says XTR founder and CEO Bryn Mooser. “I started making films there, and she would always help out with them.  I’ve been encouraging her to direct this doc for a long time.” Wilde helmed the 2011 comedy short “Free Hugs,” which Mooser produced, and she exec produced several short docs that he directed or produced since 2010’s “Sun City Picture House,” including 2015’s “Body Team 12,” which earned both of them News and Documentary Emmys.
The doc feature is just the latest in a string of high-profile works from XTR, which has produced, financed and distributed more than 80 projects since Mooser founded the studio in 2019. The studio is now involved in making some 25 others. In the last year alone, they’ve produced or exec produced MTV Documentary Films’ Oscar-nominated “Ascension,” the HBO Max series “Menudo: Forever Young,” MUBI’s “Free Chol Soo Lee” and National Geographic Documentary Films’ “The Territory,” along with premiering seven films at Sundance and six at Tribeca. It was also a producer on Apple TV Plus’ Magic Johnson docu series “They Call Me Magic,” which was sold in a low eight-figure deal according to a source close to the production.
In July, XTR opened a $10 million, 35,000-square-foot studio and headquarters in Los Angeles’ Echo Park neighborhood, featuring a soundstage, recording studio and production and post-production facilities for their own films and outside projects. “It’s a versatile space for filming interviews and re-creations,” Mooser says. “For us, this studio campus is a total dream, especially the ability to bring people together and create under one roof.”  The offices house some 50 employees, including head of film Kathryn Everett and head of development Justin Lacob.
Though XTR has backed doc features and series that have appeared on Netflix, National Geographic, Hulu, MSNBC, CNN, MTV and other outlets, one of its greatest assets is running the nonfiction streaming platform Documentary + (co-founded by Everett and Lacob), which is available on demand and existing free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channel platforms. The company says DOC+ is available in over 85 million U.S. households and has experienced a 2000% jump in viewership since 2021.
“This type of studio never really existed in documentary before. Having established ourselves on the majority of FAST platforms, it’s becoming more important than we even had imagined, especially against a backdrop of corporate consolidation in the industry,” Mooser says. “With such an uncertain landscape, it’s great to have a home like this for documentaries.”

Name Ideas ; List One (A-J + Double First Names)
FIRST, A Note: I’ve realized that these names can also help with writing; example, you’re making character (or in my case, using character from a fandom but need to name their kid), but don’t have a name? Here’s some help!
In short, the name ideas are going to be reposted on either my main or fic-rec blogs...or both. Not that it has anything to do with posting name help...
NEXT, A Guide: So these are male, female, gender neutral, basically just names. I’ve included “multi-first names”, example; in one of my fics, I named a child “William Claud / Will Claud”. Boom, double first namer.
Okay, uh, To the names I guess?!
Tumblr media
Two first names, not alphabetized ;
Jonathan James (JJ)
Jamie Daniel (JD)
Devon Jack (DJ)
Spencer Lane
old name choice of mine, I’m excited but tbh it has nothing to do with your choice... continue 😅
Tyla Jane (TJ)
Tyler/Taylor Jayden (TJ)
Kaleb Dexter (KD)
Jacob Thomas (JT)
Kieran Drew (KD)
Parker Gray
Oliver Jay (O-Jay/OJ...lol)
Alex Emerson
Jack William (Jack Will)
Spencer Thomas
Tommi/Tommy Joel
Avery Jones (AJ)
Bree Anne/Ann
Or / Really any two names you think sound good together. AND while I added things like “AJ” and “JT” at the end for abbreviations or whatever, the nickname / shortened name doesn’t have to be two letters. Example, Spencer Lane and Jack Will!

Parent Testimonial for Bryn Mawr School from scouted architect Everett Schram and his wife Jessica
Tumblr media
(Above: Josie Schram, kindergartner at Bryn Mawr).
Few things make us happier than seeing our Scout Guide members thriving together. In our most recent Volume 5, pages for architect J. EVERETT SCHRAM and BRYN MAWR are next to one another, and that’s no coincidence. Everett and his wife, Jessica, have a long history with Bryn Mawr, where their daughter, Josie, is now a kindergartner.
Jessica and Everett graciously agree to give us their perspective on what it’s like to be parents of a Bryn Mawr student, especially since Jessica also knows the school as an alumna.
The Scout Guide (TSG): What is your family's history with Bryn Mawr?
Schram family: I (Jessica) went to Bryn Mawr for 13 years, K-12, and both of my aunts on my father’s side are alumnae as well. Their mom, my grandmother, Elizabeth Sheridan Sinclair, was a Trustee of the school and loved being involved. We are fortunate to have her memory live on through the Elizabeth Sheridan Sinclair Chair in the Fine & Performing Arts, awarded to a Bryn Mawr teacher’s contribution to the arts within the school, as well as a courtyard on campus named in her honor.
Tumblr media
(Above: Sheridan Courtyard at Bryn Mawr, named for Jessica Schram’s grandmother. Photo credit: Patrick Ross Photography, 2019).
TSG: What class is Josie in now?
Schram family: Our daughter, Josephine “Josie” Schram, has begun her Bryn Mawr journey this year as a Kindergartener. Josie is a part of the Bryn Mawr Class of ’32!  She has already asked us if she can go to Bryn Mawr for 1st grade.  We let her know that she has 12 more years to enjoy the school!  It is great to see her so excited about school and learning.
TSG: Did you look at other schools besides Bryn Mawr? If so, what was it about Bryn Mawr (besides your legacy, Jessica) that convinced you it was the right place for Josie?
Schram family: We did look at other schools. Even though I (Jessica) went to Bryn Mawr, I knew that it may be different than when I attended.  So, it was important to fully evaluate not only Bryn Mawr, but other options as well.  We wanted to make sure that both the education and community felt like a good fit for Josie, along with Everett and me as well. Not only did the academic environment feel like it would challenge Josie and provide her with many diverse opportunities, but there is something about the physical environment of the campus that draws you in. The pathways, arcades and porticos connect the students and provide plenty of outdoor experiences.  It encourages a bit of social reprieve that naturally occurs between classes, which creates a camaraderie that is reinforced by the built surroundings and the way one experiences life on campus.
There are so many great private schools in the Baltimore-metro area that the decision can be a challenging one, but as one Bryn Mawr parent told us, it is important to make a decision that will not only suit your daughter, but yourselves as parents, since you too will be a part of that community for many years to come.
Tumblr media
TSG: What have you been delighted to learn now as a parent?
Schram family: As a parent, it has been great to learn and reflect on how much Bryn Mawr teaches students that extends beyond the classroom. For the school, it is about more than academics. It is about shaping compassionate yet strong young girls and the women they will inevitably become. Now as a parent, and former student, I have a better understanding of how Bryn Mawr fosters a spirit of striving for excellence, teaching young girls about resilience (yes, even in Kindergarten!), and providing opportunities for students to struggle at times so that they are better prepared for the real-life opportunities and challenges that they will encounter.
TSG: Jessica, how did your Bryn Mawr education prepare you for where you are today?
Schram family: Bryn Mawr prepared me for where I am today by encouraging a mindset for continuous learning and finding your passion, whatever that may be. I work as the Manager of Organ Recovery for The Living Legacy Foundation of Maryland, a non-profit organization that facilitates organ, eye and tissue donation in Maryland. It is a very rewarding profession to be a part of. Part of Bryn Mawr’s mission statement is “to prepare (their) students for lifelong learning and leadership.” I am fortunate to be able to live this sentiment, as in my field, I truly feel that I learn something every day.  While my work can be very challenging, it is this challenge that makes each day exciting, and the resilience that Bryn Mawr fostered in me makes rising to these challenges compelling and inspiring!
TSG: So far, what has been the best thing about having a child at Bryn Mawr
Schram family: The best aspect of having Josie attend Bryn Mawr has been seeing how much she has learned already and how excited she is about what she’s doing there. She often comes home and sings us a song (usually in Spanish) and will tell us about a new thing she learned and how everything related to it works. Seeing her gain confidence has been especially meaningful as well.
TSG: Anything else you want to add?
Schram family: Everett here! As someone who is not from Baltimore and does not have a particular relationship to any given school, that opportunity to find the right place for Josie, and us as a family, was crucial. As a man who practices in a male-dominated profession as an architect, and sees a lot of myself in my daughter and the things we’re both drawn to and the way we process information and so forth, it was important to me that we find a place that would empower her to find and follow her passion, whatever that may be, and have the confidence to do so. As a father of an only child who is a bright, creative and inquisitive little girl, it was necessary to go where her natural aptitudes would be fostered, her weaknesses strengthened and her mind opened to all sorts of pathways and ideals. We believe that we’ve accomplished all of this in our choice to send Josie to Bryn Mawr.

A “view” from the courtroom: Justice Kavanaugh takes the bench
Three days ago, demonstrators were literally storming the steps of the Supreme Court and clamoring at the bronze doors over the contentious confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh.
So today, with the now sworn-in Justice Kavanaugh ready to take the bench for the first time, there is an expectant air in the courtroom. Will there be the kind of protests that marked the main part of Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing in the Hart hearing room, or his final floor vote in the U.S. Senate?
To not bury the lead (for a change), the answer is no. There will be no interruptions during two hours of arguments.
Justices Kagan and Kavanaugh exchange pleasantries on the bench (Art Lien)
It may have helped that the court appears to have removed the wooden chairs that are normally situated in the back of the courtroom, which are typically filled by rotating spectators from the “five-minute” line. It seems there is no five-minute line today.
At 9:45, Kavanaugh’s wife, Ashley, and their two daughters, Margaret and Liza, arrive and take seats in the second row of the guest box. Kavanaugh had indicated last night at his ceremonial oath-taking at the White House that the girls would be missing school today to observe the first two cases he would hear as a justice. Liza, the younger daughter, practically sinks below the top of the seatback in first row of bench seating in the guest section.
Kavanaugh’s parents, Everett and Martha, are in the first row of the public gallery, just across from the guest box.
A few minutes later, retired Justice Anthony Kennedy, whom Kavanaugh has succeeded, walks in while chatting with Martha-Ann Alito, the wife of Justice Samuel Alito. It is slightly jarring, of course, to see Kennedy in the courtroom for arguments without his judicial robe. He takes the first VIP chair in the row of such cushy chairs in front of the guest box.
When the court takes the bench, Kavanaugh is at his place on the far right (looking at the bench from the audience), next to Justice Elena Kagan. Barring unforeseen events, they will be next to each other for years to come, even as the justices rotate from one side of the chief justice’s seat to the other as vacancies among more senior members of the court arise.
Chief Justice John Roberts has a few words to mark this day.
“Before we commence the business of the court this morning, it gives me great pleasure, on behalf of myself and my colleagues, to welcome Justice Kavanaugh to the court,” Roberts says, adding that Kavanaugh has taken his oaths and his commission “will be duly recorded,” and the court will have a special sitting at a later time to mark the occasion.
“Justice Kavanaugh, we wish you a long and happy career in our common calling,” the chief justice says.
With Kennedy in the courtroom, Roberts says he would like to note the justice’s retirement. “At the appropriate time, we will in accordance with tradition and practice read and enter into the record an exchange of letters between the court and Justice Kennedy marking his retirement.”
Justice Kennedy seated in courtroom on Justice Kavanaugh’s first day on the bench (Art Lien)
During the routine of bar admissions, Kavanaugh takes his first sip of a beverage from an elegant silver cup, the type that seems to be issued to each justice even though they often prefer to have their favorite coffee mug at the bench.
From there, the court plunges into two arguments over the Armed Career Criminal Act, the federal statute that imposes a 15-year minimum sentence on any defendant who, having been convicted of three prior “violent felonies,” is found guilty of being in possession of a firearm.
In Stokeling v. United States, about whether a state robbery offense that includes “as an element” the common-law requirement of overcoming “victim resistance” is categorically a “violent felony” under the ACCA.
This argument has some moments that even young spectators seem to enjoy, such as when Roberts describes having his law clerks try to pull a dollar bill out of his hand while he held tight. (This was in response to an argument in the petitioner’s merits brief that “robbery can … occur where the offender does no more than grab cash from someone’s closed fist, tearing the bill without touching the person.”)
“It tears easily if you go like this,” Roberts says to Brenda Bryn, the lawyer for petitioner Denard Stokeling, motioning as if to tear a bill in half. “But if you’re really tugging on it … it requires a lot of force, more than you might think.”
Justice Sonia Sotomayor asks about whether a “ordinary pinch” can involve sufficient force to break the law. And to demonstrate, she pinches her neighbor on her right, Justice Neil Gorsuch. At that moment, he is lifting his coffee mug for a sip, and his wide-eyed reaction to being pinched suggests a mix of bemusement and mild alarm.
Justice Sotomayor appears to pinch Justice Gorsuch to make a point during argument (Art Lien)
Whenever a justice asks a question, Kavanaugh looks down the bench at his colleague. He sometimes dons his reading glasses, and he jots notes. We cannot see whether he has his trademark Sharpie marker.
At 10:25 a.m., Kavanaugh has his first question, asking Bryn about her arguments relating to a 2010 Supreme Court ACCA decision, Curtis Johnson v. United States.
“In Curtis Johnson, you rely heavily on the general statements of the court, but the application of those general statements was to something very specific: Battery and a mere tap on the shoulder,” Kavanaugh says to Bryn. “And all Curtis Johnson seemed to hold was that that was excluded. So why don’t we follow what Curtis Johnson seemed to do in applying those general statements to the specific statute at issue here and why wouldn’t that then encompass the Florida statute, which requires more than, say, a tap on the shoulder?”
In the second argument, for the consolidated cases of United States v. Stitt and United States v. Sims, the question is whether burglary of “a nonpermanent or mobile structure that is adapted or used for overnight accommodation can qualify as ‘burglary’” under the ACCA.
Kennedy apparently decides that one hour of argument about the ACCA is enough, and he slips out at the break between the two arguments.
The Stitt and Sims argument will lead to questions about cars with mattresses, homeless people living in their cars in New York and Washington, and unoccupied recreational vehicles and campers.
Alito tells Erica Ross, an assistant to the solicitor general arguing that burglary of an unoccupied mobile structure should count as a strike under the ACCA, that the court has “made one royal mess” of its interpretations of the federal statute.
Ross says that is something the court may need to think about in “some case,” but “I apologize … for continuing to bring us back to this case.”
This simple point really tickles Justice Clarence Thomas for some reason, and he laughs heartily for several seconds.
Kavanaugh asks more questions in this second argument, though he also loses a couple of what I call “faceoffs” — when two justices battle for the floor, continuing to speak until one relents. He defers to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg at one point, and to Kagan at another. (Although the rule of thumb is that a junior justice ought to defer to a senior colleague in such situations, that rule is not always observed.)
Kavanaugh will have several extended colloquies, appearing more at ease with each one. Several times, Jeffrey Fisher of Stanford Law School, the court-appointed lawyer for the respondents in the second case, begins his answer by saying, “Well, Justice Kavanaugh, …”
It is in those tiny moments that the reality sinks in that Brett Kavanaugh of Maryland is now an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.

The playwright group will be meeting twice a month, beginning in mid-January, for three hour sessions, to discuss the year's theme, share new work, talk playwriting and the business of theatre. The meetings also comprise of discussion about individual playwrights' projects, as well as readings of new work, where playwrights will cast (from the other writers) and hear their work read aloud. Athena Theatre believes that a play cannot be fully understood until the words hit the ear of an audience. This process allows playwrights to deepen their understanding of their own work, as well as glean ideas and approaches from their fellow playwrights.
In addition to closed sessions, some meetings will include dramaturges, directors and other industry professionals, to help deepen the understanding of specific works, as well as discuss industry concerns. Athena Theatre will also actively solicit opportunities for artists to submit their plays, to venues in New York City as well as around the country.

Gwyndolyn Maddix
Born in 1624 on a FARM in WALES, to a sick MOTHER and a poor FATHER. He had 3 younger SISTERS (ARWYN, ELIN, RHIANNON). Across from the Maddixs' land lived another farm family who they often sold to and bought from, sending GWYN over to them. This is where AMELIA lived, and Gwyn was inamored with her- she had copper hair that hung in two braids and bright green eyes. She was always laughing, and flour lived on her dresses. Her cows produced better milk than Gwyn's. He would pick up wildflowers for her on his way to their farm. Gwyn was 16 when he was changed (year 1640). It was a normal Tuesday night when GALEN came. He murdered Gwyn's entire family (including their livestock). Gwyn was holding Arwyn as she died, teary eyes unwavering as Galen stood in front of him. Instead of killing him, Galen changed him; Gwyn learned 300 years later that Galen had wanted children, and that was where he and Amelia came in. Of course Galen changed Amelia, as well. A beautiful girl like her didn't go unseen by the vampire. Gwyn was changed first, his unconscious body carried over to Amelia's farm. The cycle repeated-- her family and livestock were murdered and Amelia was changed. Galen taught them how to survive and live under the human radar, and Gwyn spent hundreds of years by his and Amelia's side, all the while resenting Galen for what he did to his family, and Amelia, for not caring about the loss of hers. In 1873, while visiting France, Gwyn met CAMILLE LABELLE, a vampire like him. Unlike him, Camille loved being a vampire. They didn't get along at first; there was a language barrier. Gwyn only spoke Welsh, English, and minimal Italian, and Camille had never left France. All Gwyn knew was that Camille was a messy and violent eater. In the end, they taught each other. Camille helped Gwyn learn French, and Gwyn in turn taught his English. When Galen and Amelia decided, 30 years later, that they wanted to see something else, Gwyn stayed with Camille. Thus beginning Gwyn's nomadic lifestyle. Sometime in the 1980s, Gwyn starts a relationship with the vampire CAIN, who is violent like Camille, and is a bad influence for Gwyn for a long time. This is where Gwyn kills more humans than he ever had before. This weighs on him, and he eventually leaves Cain. In 2012, Gwyn met MAGICK PAVINSKY, a boy obsessed with vampire lore. They're friendship was the opposite of Gwyn and Camille's: it came naturally and quickly, and they fell in love. Magick didn't know Gwyn was a vampire, despite obvious hints (a garlic allergy, not coming in until invited). He finally found out one night when was laying his head on Gwyn's chest and noticed the absence of a heartbeat. Through Magick, Gwyn met RYKER FAYRCHILD, Magick's friend and vampire hunter. Ryker knew Gwyn was a vampire as soon as he saw him, which lead to a lame attempt of trying to kill Gwyn by burning down his house. Now without a house and a hunter on his trail, Gwyn decides it's time to leave. Magick, who recently learned he was adopted and was tired of his over protective parents, goes with him. Later, after a lot of arguing and murder attempts, Ryker and Gwyn reach a point of friendship and then a romance; he, Magick, and Ryker continue to travel and live together for years. In 2015, Gwyn meets ZACK and BRYN. Zack is an under trained vampire who Gwyn takes pity on, and Bryn is a local bloodwhore. They spend three weeks with them, Bryn and Magick becoming friends. This is also where Gwyn reunites with Cain, who wants to start their relationship where they left off. In the end, Zack leaves with them so he can learn from Gwyn, and Cain comes with them so he can be with Gwyn. This distorts Gwyn's previous relationship with Magick and Ryker for awhile. Cain drinks from Ryker until Ryker dies, and Magick kills Cain in a fit of rage. After this, Gwyn takes Magick away, trying to take his mind off of the entire ordeal. It isn't long after this that Gwyn gets a call from EVERETT, an acquaintance, saying that he found Ryker on the side of the road. When they get to Everett's, they find a changed Ryker and a witch named FRAY. It is here that they are called to a meeting by ALEXSA, a Greek vampire. This meeting is about the vampire's lacking a law system or government. Alexsa calls for nominations for the vampire counsil. Unsurprisingly, Gwyn finds himself on it. Things are quiet for awhile, until three FAERIES come to Fray's, where they were all staying. The faerie prince, DAE, tells his story of a crown usurped and his plight to get it back. The vampires and the witches agree to go to his aid, and they spend months training. During the actual battle, Gwyn gets hit with an arrow and nearly dies. He is found afterwards against a tree, and taken back to the castle for healing (more on this in a separate section).

bryn saw me somewhere and i was near my house so i went inside to hide and i knew they were following me so i just pretended to fall asleep somewhere really quickly in a really awkward position and they came in and stood by me for a while obviously thinking about something/examining me and then went away but my mom came home and was like "heeeeeey!" and so i stopped pretending and just went where they were and was like "what are you doing?" and they were like "i came here to get my stuffed animals" and i was like "oh that's fine i can get them" so i did but there was one that was really cute and i wanted to keep it but didn't. and then they left but they texted me and were like "i just had a panic attack i can't believe you did this to me. i shouldn't have had to talk about that with you" and there were screenshots from their texts with nina and she was like "i'm so sorry babe" and i was like ok... and for some reason we were in a group chat with naomi and she was like "omg poor thing!! you don't deserve that" to bryn... then i was at a party in boone and sam and jade were there briefly and i overheard someone talking about this french guy who was there and so i went searching for him but it turned out he wasn't really french because someone asked him about it and i overheard that conversation. but i still talked to him anyway and we ended up cuddling on a couch somewhere and i fell off and he had to hold me really close to keep me on it. and then later at some point i was texting naomi and i found a pic/gif of me and him and some girl cuddling and she was cuddling my legs while he was touching my boobs? and so i sent it to naomi and i was like lol wtf and then it was a different time still in boone and i somehow was with nifemi and she was like "were going to a party. you drive" so we got in her car and the steering wheel was on the passenger side and so i was driving but i didn't know where i was going really and i was trying to find a church bc that's where the party was and i missed my turn but went farther and got to the same road and then we saw everette and michelle and picked them up and LL and taylor were also suddenly in the car and everette was like "wow who should we cuddle up next to the most? LL or taylor?" and for some reason they had different names like robespierrrre or something but i was like "LL deserves to be cuddled up to" and then they sarcastically were like "woooow thaaaanks"
