The fact that JC thought that WWX would want chenqing back when he returns is less about what WWX would do and more about JC i think. JC can't do anything without his sword or zidian he doesn't have any power and he's not smart enough or creative enough to think of a different solution. WWX who has had to lose so much and is canonically a genius who's known for quick thinking is able to just shrug off losing his weapon and finds a way to work around it. WWX shows even when he has a shitty flute made in 30 seconds that he has immense power and ingenuity. That its about who he is and what he can do rather than the tool. Unlike JC who is only powerful because of those he surrounds him with or the weapons he uses or the threats he makes. JC would be nothing without zidian (or his gc) but WWX shows throughout canon that even when stripped of everything he will always overcome or die (and resurrect) trying.

Oh, absolutely. For JC power comes from having powerful tools, so naturally he assumes Chenqing is an incredibly powerful tool that WWX would never abandon. Meanwhile Chenqing is... honestly just a flute. It’s a nice flute, and probably infused with resentful energy or something from being made and used in the Burial Mounds, but it’s still... a flute. The power comes from WWX, not Chenqing; Chenqing is just the vessel WWX channels his power through. It’s replaceable, if it comes to that. WWX is someone with power who uses tools to channel that power; JC is someone whose power comes only from having powerful tools that he can use. Naturally JC would assume that WWX needs Chenqing; JC wouldn’t be able to manage without Zidian, after all.

oh!! ive done one of these before on this blog and i just mentioned stuff about bnha, so I'll mention some more general things this time <3

1. Dream's (MCYT) laugh because it sounds like mine and I just can't not smile when he sounds like a tea kettle

2. Those rare nights where my cat sleeps on my bed next to me instead of her cat bed & I can feel her purring

3. 100k+ word gen fics focused on found family, maybe a little slash if i'm feeling extra mushy

4. In addition to 3, spending all night into the next morning binge reading a long fic because I just cant put it down

5. The smell of fall air, the crunching of leaves under my boots, the sharp breeze that cuts through my jacket but is immediately soothed by the warmth of the Sun.

42. Savior 

Midoriya’s laughter rang in Shouto’s ears like a pleasant song he could listen to on repeat. They had fallen asleep beside one another on Izuku’s hospital bed the previous night and woke up to find each other leaning against each other for support. Although Shouto felt embarrassed for ending up in this situation, Midoriya simply giggled, waved it off, and told him not to worry about it. 

After going through the fight with Stain, Shouto realized he should count his blessings because it could have gone so much worse. Iida, Midoriya, and he were alive, so waking up next to his crush and feeling flustered was not as bad of a situation as Shouto’s mind made it out to be. Ever since the sports festival, he couldn’t get Midoriya’s words out of his head. He had gotten so many things done because of him...because of what he did and what he said. Shouto had never received such a wake up call in his life, but really, he admitted he wanted the bucket of cold water thrown at his face to get it together. Midoriya had delivered and he did not disappoint. 

Midoriya saved Shouto from himself. 

Now, as he sat across from this sweet yet fearsome boy, Shouto couldn’t help but feel content to be in a hospital. Ditching his father and answering Midoriya’s call for help had been worth it. It was almost as if Shouto had been returning the favor because Midoriya ditched his own ambition of wanting to win the festival and answered his cry for help when Shouto needed it. He was just glad he got to him on time. 

“Todoroki?”

Shouto’s eyes focused on Midoriya once again, not having realized he had gotten lost in thought as his friend spoke to him. That was rude of him...he should apologize...Midoriya was being so kind and talkative and here Shouto was spacing out and getting distracted (by thoughts of said boy). 

Instead, what he said was “Yes?” because he had no better response and he was sure he couldn’t redeem himself for not listening to Midoriya. 

“Thank you for saving me back there...for saving us.” 

There were so many things Shouto expected out of Midoriya’s mouth, but that wasn’t one of them. 

“No problem,” he answered. “You’ve saved me once before.”

“Have I?” MIdoriya asked with wide eyes. 

Shouto gave him a small smile and a nod. “You have.” 

Pink dust settled on Midoriya’s face and he looked away. “I guess we take being heroes very seriously, huh?”

Somehow, Shouto hadn’t planned to be heroic in the slightest. All he had thought about was how he could help Midoriya (and by extension, Iida when he found them both in the dark alleyway). But he was right and Shouto couldn’t argue with that. 

“I guess we do.” If Midoriya had been looking at him, he would have probably noticed the bright blush on Shouto’s cheeks.

People don't realize immediately that he's the Fullmetal Alchemist who stopped the apocalypse and instead recognize him as Edward Elric-Rockbell, Winry Elric-Rockbell's husband, and he loves being her trophy husband

Branded

I have my last name tattooed on my right side like a brand on my ribcage 

“It represents family” I claim a forced fake smile on my lips they don’t know what it truly means but how can I tell them? they only know family as loving caring supportive

they don’t know  the manipulation anger terror

it’s branded on my right side a reminder of my place I am a cow after all don’t they remind me with that nickname? Missy Moo Moo

It burns some times because I claw at it praying one day I’ll wake up and it’ll be gone no more and I’ll be free to fly like the butterfly on my side the juxtaposition of the brand and the hope for freedom

There are stitches holding it in place stitches made of steel that keep it latched on like a parasite normal scissors can’t cut I need fire to burn it off

but brands are forever  permanent distortions that tell your place and shred your soul

Ah -  but this is not a brand it’s a tattoo tattoos can be changed and I hope the butterfly will no longer face a brand angry on my side but a beautiful flower garden to fly free

But if I cover the brand it’s only hidden  so what is better? Cover the brand as if names can’t hurt or wear it proudly as a reclamation

do I let it define me consume me or do I thrust it off  and fly free

For now though it burrows in my side a thorn a searing reminder
