Slightly angry rant: I see people talking about Charlottegeorge and don't get me wrong, I love them, they are a great couple, but some people have the AUDACITY to compare them to Polin and call Polin a trash ship, and that season 3 won't be as good as QC was. One person on Twitter said that "My heart calls your name" is more romantic than anything Colin could possibly say to Penelope in S3. Miss ma'am. You couldn't be more wrong. While I agree that what George said was romantic, it's not the same compared to what Colin says in RMB, I'll quote it for those that don't remember or don't even give Polin a chance. "I love you with everything I am, everything I've been, and Everything I hope to be. I love you with my past, and I love you for my future. I love you for the children we'll have and for the years we'll have together. I love you for every one of my smiles and even more, for every one of your smiles." Still think Colin won't say anything romantic in S3 as George did in QC? I can't wait for the people that are already hating on Polin and not even giving them a chance to eat their words once S3 comes out. Y'all you need to stop hating on other ships just because you like one more than the other. You can love a ship and not hate on all the others at the same time.

Now that the Bridgerverse has officially been established there are several stories we need to see.
Brimsley and Reynolds - Let's start with the most obviously and the most urgent. This can be the main focus of season two of Queen Charlotte(not sure its needed but I would love to see more of these characters) or be a separate story. Either way, we need answers and We Need Them NOW!
Prince Fredrich and Edwina - This one was already hinted at in the season two finale. And honestly, they deserve a happy ending after everything Daphne and especially Anthony put them through.
The Smythe-Smith quartet - I'm hoping one of the infamous Smythe-Smith musicales will be featured in Bridgerton season three similar to the one in the book. Even if they don't, we already know this family was a part of The Great Experiment. Not only could these be hilarious in comparison to the other series, it would be an opportunity for Netflix to feature POC characters without tragic backstories or endings.
Mary and Mr Sharma - The seasons diamond and a forbidden love. The Scandal,The Drama, The Romance! And of course, the heartbreaking tragedy. We learned very little of Kate and Edwina's father in season two even though he was essential to their story. I for one am extremely curious.
Violet and Edmund's story - Little has been said about their courtship or even their marriage. We saw how it ends so why not see how it began. There would literally be no Bridgerton without them.
I'm sure there are other stories worth exploring but those are the ones I would love to see happen. I could go into longer detail about why I chose each one but this is already alot for me.

In Benedicts season, when and how do you want Anthony to find out about Sophie and Benedict?
We never see his reaction to them in the books. I think he comes round for tea and his brother in engaged to the housemaid and they have adopted her sister. No questions please.
With Anthony's depiction on the show, I wonder if he would advise Benedict to keep Sophie as a mistress?
Hello Nonny!
Gah - you have hit upon one of my most beloved dynamics in the whole of the Bridgerverse - Anthony and Sophie. There is so much fertile ground to explore here, starting with how he discovers Benedict's relationship with her, and stretching years into the future as in-laws who couldn't have come from more different walks of life.
I wholly agree it's odd and disappointing that Anthony plays zero role in Benophie's book story. (Colin always seems to be the shipper-sprite popping in to move his siblings' love stories along.) You'd think as Head of the Family with a stick up his bum about propriety, Anthony would have a LOT of feelings about Benedict, his closest brother and the Spare to the Bridgerton name marrying a bastard maid.
If I were writing Benophie's season, I think it would be rather comical and adorable for Anthony to be clueless about the obvious pining happening between his brother and the new lady's maid, until the women of the family (Kate, Violet, maybe Eloise) spell it out for him that Ben has something going on with Sophie. Then he's gonna be Big Mad. He's going to be concerned from a lot of angles. To your point, he may encourage Benedict to keep Sophie as a mistress, but only if Sophie is relieved as their maid and goes to live elsewhere. He definitely won't want to risk his brother knocking up a member of household staff and causing a scandal a la Nigel Berbrooke. I also imagine Benedict is going to wax poetic, proclaiming his love and intent to run away with Sophie which will upset Anthony more, worried for his brother's reputation and not wanting to lose him as a close confidante. Anthony may even suspect Sophie is an opportunistic seductress - he doesn't know her - and may try himself to break off their relationship.
But he'll come to understand. Through conversations with Sophie and/or Kate and/or Violet, Anthony will be forced to recognize Sophie's good qualities and the true love she has with Benedict and then...he'll be their champion. He will do everything he can to smooth over details of Sophie's backstory and help them get married in a non-scandalous fashion, and he will rain hellfire on any member of the ton who dares to question the pairing of his brother and mysterious sister-in-law. Anthony and Sophie will become closely bonded through their traumas and strengths. Different though they are, their principles and love for Benedict are the same. What Anthony once thought would be his greatest headache turns into one of his most cherished relationships. I could go on and on and on but I've already written an essay.
TL;DR in the show I'd love Anthony to be 1) oblivious; 2) agitated; and then 3) supportive of Benophie's relationship. But see also how I tackle it in my fix-it version of the book, Let Me Be Your Anchor.
Thank you for this ask - I loved it!

So I’m reading the Bridgerton series in preparation for season 3 and I thought you might find this interesting. In the Duke and I, before you even hit 100 pages, Benedict is already described as being the most protective brother of the family. Fiercely protective Ben is literally canon in the Bridgerverse, so it totally makes sense that when GOS Ben finds out about Clovers parents he’ll fully go into “Don’t touch my wife or i’ll kill you” mode.
OMG WAIT WAIT-
"the most protective brother of the family"? 😱😍
Oh I absolutely love this my darling, thank you so so much! 🥰❤️
I think we will definitely see just how protective Benedict can be 😏🔥

Haha. I wasn't criticizing your claim about promotion. We HAVE gotten less for Polin, but I have faith we'll get a lot later on. I like Kanthony too! I was just saying some ppl like to complain abt that season's amount of press; many would & have said Polin has had more atp, which I just laugh at! Feel free to your opinion about the lack of it. We are desperately waiting for S3!

That blog is bridgerverse musings and they brought up the “great” chemistry of him and Sabrina.
But don’t worry plenty of Kanthony fans agree and can’t help but doubling down on it “he has chemistry with everyone” 🤮🤮🤮
that blog is a huge disappointment to me, you really can't trust anyone in this fandom. People are always going to put that man on a pedestal everytime even when he shows everyday how much of a self centred racist asshole he is

More a comment than a question. I read your post on Reddit and now here on the anniversary. I agree with you completely. I watched S1 but S2 got me fully invested in the Bridgerverse. Over a period of time, I found the Bridgerton marketing odd compared to other shows. But the QC cast and the trailers seemed interesting and I was planning on checking it out. Yesterday, I was looking forward to Kanthony anniversary posts from the production. Instead it seems like there's a gag order on talking about S2. I tried to ignore when people talked about it earlier during the S2-S3 handover trailer. But this is too much. I cannot give any more of my time to this show. I'd held on to the Netflix subscription only because of Bridgerton. But today, I canceled it. I will subscribe again when some of my other favorite shows turn up with their new season. I might check out S3 then depending on reviews, but it will not be on my priority list. There are other shows that I love that give so much to their fans, and I'd rather invest my time in those shows and those productions.
Thank you for your comment, this is something that I have heard from others as well.
I am saddened that the actions of the Bridgerton Marketing team has made some fans want to turn away from the show, but that is what they have done and I do understand why some fans are turning their back on the show for now.
Like you I most likely will wait to see what the reviews about S3 say before watching it, but I am hoping it will exceed our expectations, if only with the subplots.
I think there will be a lot of people like you who will cancel their Netflix subscription for now, and maybe go back when other shows they love return. We all need to invest our time in things that make us feel good, and at the moment I don't think Bridgerton is making many feel good but other shows are. I hope that S3 proves to be something that will make us all feel good again, and that there will be enough of those we love in the show, but along with that I do think the marketing and PR team need to up their game to win back fans like you.
And thank you again for reading and taking the time to message, I hope you will continue to read, I hope to do a few more positive posts and looking at things outside the PR and marketing side.

Aww thank you my friend! ☺️🌻 Your company never fails to bring me sunshine!
So uh, there is technically already a designated ‘sunflower guy’ in the Bridgerverse but, I didn’t think you’d be averse to some return tulips 😉🌷

Insane Bridgerton speculations which I spend an inordinate time fantasizing about:
Thomas Dorset, a mere Mister now, is the cousin of John Stirling, Earl of Kilmartin and therefore the future Earl of Kilmartin. (This man is TOO HOT to not be a long-term denizen of the Bridgerverse.)
Genevieve Delacroix is Sophie Beckett in disguise.
Sir Philip Crane is ACTUALLY going to end up with Eloise, but there will be NEGATIVE forecasting of it until the moment E ends up at his door, so all of us are still going to be surprised. And just like in the book, he is going to be STEALTH HORNDOG, and that season will actually blow S1 out the water.
Tumblr media
They are going to introduce the one memorable gay character from the Bridgerton books, Lord Haselby, in the next season or two, and flesh out a true proper queer romance plotline for him. Oh, that would actually be lovely.

In the Bridgertonverse, would Mary be asked for her approval/blessing for a Kate/Anthony betrothal? She has not put herself forward as head of the family, nor is she in a position to bestow a dowry on Kate. Curious what your thoughts would be. (this is for Show Mary, not Book Mary).
Thanks for this ask anon and for waiting. This is such an interesting ask, so I really appreciate and am flattered that you thought to ask me! Shoutout to Trivia @hptriviachamp for helping me figure out how much authority widows in HR have :D
Okay so the Bridgerverse - especially the world building of the show version is a mess. At least the books' were somewhat historically accurate so I shall also offer you those facts later.
Within the show, by right she should be their head of household because the show Cowpers are a good example but Lady Cowper seems to run the show so by that predence, Mary is the head of the household and should be running things like Anthony is.
I think the frustrating thing about Show!Mary is that they made her so absent, they didn't even bother establishing who officially is the Head of Household for the Sharmas. Because Kate acts like she is and then when they arrived in London, Lady D takes over for them. So it's quite murky.
However, Trivia just informed me that despite her absence and lack of assertion in S2, Mary is still the official head of household for the Sharmas, as much as a widow can be. She doesn't have the same flexibilities or authority that a patriarch of a family would because hello Regency sexism, but Anthony would have approached her for a blessing of sorts. Triv helped shed more light on this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Within the HR universe of rules and precedents, she cited Secrets of a Summer Night which has Annabelle in a similar family situation:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I imagine this is how it would have gone down with Anthony and Mary (God we deserved to see that - we got all the scenes with Violet and Anthony why not Mary fussing about her girls??)
And while it was said that Kate dealt with the finances, they did have some money that could have passed off as a small dowry for Kate even though we all know Anthony would have waived it because he loves his wife.
All in all, Mary does have the power and enough money to give her blessing and provide a respectable dowry for Kathony but we just never saw that cos the writers suck.
Thanks for reading yall and again to the anon for a great and interesting ask!
