unsung benefit i think a lot of ppl are sleeping on with using the public library is that i think its a great replacement for the dopamine hit some ppl get from online shopping. it kind of fills that niche of reserving something that you then get to anticipate the arrival of and enjoy when it arrives, but without like, the waste and the money.

You guys rlly don't realise how much knowledge is still not committed to the internet. I find books all the time with stuff that is impossible to find through a search engine- most people do not put their magnum opus research online for free and the more niche a skill is the less likely you are to have people who will leak those books online. (Nevermind all the books written prior to the internet that have knowledge that is not considered "relevant" enough to digitise).

Whenever people say that we r growing up with all the world's knowledge at our fingertips...it's not necessarily true. Is the amount of knowledge online potentially infinite? Yes. Is it all knowledge? No. You will be surprised at the niche things you can discover at a local archive or library.

Y'all remember when I said this? I didn't want to say anything more on the show cos I feel like I've beat that horse to death and didn't have anything more to say

But turns out S3 promo has given me things to chew on and people are getting interested in my opinions again,,, so outlining for my last ever word on Bton is happening

I have mostly moved on from it and especially the fandom and I say mostly cos I still do read my close friends' theories and discussions and participate. That being said I think new fans of rather fans newly coming into fandom spaces have been engaging with my old discussion posts. It's been nice to see my old essays get new life. So I might wanna work on another Bton essay 👀

That one 24 year old dude already has a car, a house, and a job waiting for him once he graduates thanks to his dad's connections. The 26 year old barista couldn't complete his higher education because he has to work and take care of his family. it really fucking irritates me when a book says "content warning available on author's website" but it has now been surpassed by "scan this qr code for content warning"

1) stop assuming constant internet access for fucking books

2) don't timelock information about your books. I have ebook files that have outlasted their original publishing companies, let alone individual authors! if you want people to have x info when they read, you must put it IN THE BOOK
