And I'm back to the Fiasco plotline, which I actually run fairly often it's probably my second most common plotline
Because Fiasco? He might be more heavily built than his primary code donor (Soundwave), but he's still not as durable as his carrier. He's got the same strategy as Soundwave, fight at a distance and rely on speed & agility to keep others from landing a hit on him. I gave Sco the extra stabby dagger datacables not only because of this but also because they're badass as hell (can you imagine seeing transform the tip into a fairly sizeable blade for the first time? And since they're on datacables, that's so much more flexibility to avoid getting knifed in the robokidneys.) He also 100% cannot see besides light/dark, he does not have optics (he typically wears a teal visor, but it's for show), which makes fighting. Complicated. Sco is a noncombatant, because Megatron would be damned if his goddamned miracle gets hurt in battle, because he's aware just how easily that could happen.
It does not help that Fiasco is a rebel with that same righteous and curious energy as mtmte Rodimus. Dude's itching for danger. But, one of my favorite parts! Once put in the face of actual risk and danger, once he realizes he truly might not be rescued quickly this time, Fiasco grows quite anxious. This kid is used to being immediately pulled out of harm's way, whether it's by his parents, the Nemesis crew, or the other crew members of the Fortitude. Who's jobs are to keep their SIC out of trouble or if trouble comes knocking at least keep him unscathed. An absolute momma's boy who denies that he's a momma's boy.

Humans and technology
You see, humans don't interact with the universe the way most other species do.
We thought they would be elegant as the Borath from the design of their vessels, thoughtful as Saalax from the care of their grreting broadcasts, calm as J'lanyua from the precise manner of their docking.
We were in for a shock. For all the collective order and discipline, there is a chaos inherent to individuals and should one succumb to it the chances they will take others with them are high.
We learned quickly to not underestimate these contradictory bipeds, but not before they shocked us rigid with their grasp of high technology.
They don't even have Dulchan drives but they stepped into one of the ancient platforms and immediately identified features we never discerned. The space platforms are thousands of rotations older than our space travels, the original builders are long gone and until the humans came we had to simply trust the computers would not fail and we would remain protected.
It took a lot of persuasion to let them near the computer cores, even when they begged to see them close up, but eventually we relented. What was the harm? No one understood them, no one could even unlock them.
They made many strange noises of appreciation, as most who see the ancient technology do. Their commander grew bored "Not a nerd like them," he grumbled, so we went back to the main habitation area.
A sleep cycle later, we ventured back to find the nerds.
"Well? Got any ideas?" The Commander asked.
"Ideas?" Charlie let out a shocking noise that made my feathers quiver, a laugh. "Spade's already got it running Doom."

DS9: "The Search, Part II"
Tumblr media
After Dominion forces board the Defiant, Constable Odo and Major Kira escape to the Omarion Nebula, where they find Odo's long-lost homeworld. Meanwhile, Commander Sisko returns to Deep Space Nine and finds the Founders of the Dominion have already talked the Federation into a very one-sided peace treaty. Or so it seems...
Normally I don't bother hiding spoilers under a cut with these things, because a) I can write around it or b) I figure it's not a big deal after 20-30 years. But frankly, there's nothing in this episode worth talking about except in the context of the twist at the end, which is as close as Star Trek gets to having an "Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your father" moment. If that kind of thing matters to you, this is your last chance to go watch the show yourself and come back here later.
OK, now that the kids are in bed: The entire Sisko storyline is an elaborate Dominion simulation in a secret lab on the same planet where Odo meets his people. Because Odo's people are the Founders--they created the Dominion to protect themselves from generations of prejudice against Changelings.
In retrospect that all seems obvious, but in 1994 I didn't see it coming. It seemed like more than enough misdirection that the simulation's Borath "reveals" his species are the Founders after Eris denied it in "The Jem'Hadar." (We still haven't established that Borath and Eris's species is the "Vorta" briefly mentioned in "The Search, Part I.") Moreover, the Changelings' philosophy and the simulation's political intrigue were so baffling that I was just focused on understanding what was going on. It somehow didn't occur to me that the two plots had nothing to do with one another, and needed to link up at the end.
I still don't quite understand the simulation. The real Borath says the idea is to test how much appeasement Sisko will tolerate to prevent a war, and the answer is "not much." But test is skewed by the uncanny details of the simulation. Admiral Necheyev and Lt. Commander Eddington act like they're under mind control or something. The Dominion antagonize the Romulans for no apparent reason. Even if Sisko trusted the Dominion, he'd probably still try to collapse the wormhole just because he suspects someone is messing with him.
The pacing of the story and its climax doesn't give us time to wrap things up very well. Once Odo secures the release of his friends, we're told the Defiant has been in orbit all along and it's apparently ready to leave, just like that. We also get no time to deal with the ramifications of revealing the Dominion's greatest secret to their greatest enemy. Up to this point the disputed existence of the Founders was a key feature of the Dominion, so you'd think dropping it would be a big deal for their society. But if there are any ramifications, we never see them.

Rohanna’s father, Borath, owned the forge before her. But while Rohanna was still very young, he began to struggle with illness. It became difficult for him to keep up with all of his contracts. So her mother, Roha, began to help him with the more delicate work.
The other blacksmiths tried to ask Borath his secret. But he wouldn’t give it up.
One day, her father was late from an appointment. He was found in an alley with extensive injuries and left for dead. He eventually succumbed to his injuries.
The other blacksmiths began to visit the forge everyday, trying to take advantage of Roha. She said to them, “I will set out some of what he had finished. Come back tomorrow and I will set out more.”
Roha worked deliberately, little by little, late into the night. Rohanna, watching her mother grow weary with work, began to help by taking care of the food, cleaning, and keeping of the shop.
The other blacksmiths kept visiting, hoping to steal Borath’s techniques and his wife. Rohanna, noticing this, expressed her frustration to Roha. “Little one, they think they are in love with me. But no one can ever love me the way your father did.” Her confidence bolstered, Rohanna missed the sad and weary tone in her mother’s voice.
Roha began to work on more delicate things, she noticed that women, as they came to give condolences for the loss of her husband, fawned over the small chains of gold, silver, and steel.
“What’s this for? Women?” The old blacksmiths asked, scornfully assessing her fine chains.
“Women need protection too, from anyone who might be waiting for them late at night.” Roha would reply, bitterness creeping more and more into her conversations with these men.
The blacksmiths visited less and less as each month and year went by, allowing Roha to learn and improve her craft. She began to experiment with smaller weapons and light armor for women to wear as they went about their errands in the marketplace. Simple things that could be worn easily and enable them to protect their families.
As Roha’s ambition grew, so did her clientele. The women who visited Roha were broken, sad, and cynical, looking for a way to feel strong on their own. Roha was determined to provide that way for them. But as she worked to give these women strength, her own was slipping away.
Roha began to focus all her energy on strengthening Rohanna. Rohanna began to take the more difficult jobs, earning the faithful patronage of female warriors and soldiers.
Rohanna kept growing in strength and reputation, and her mother began to fade to the background. One morning, she just slipped away in her sleep. Rohanna knew that her mother never quite healed from the grief of losing Borath, and was glad that she was at peace.
This is why Rohanna refuses to give up her work or the forge. Her father refused to give up when he was sick, her mother refused when she lost her husband, Rohanna would continue that legacy. This is how the story of Rohanna Stronghammer begins.

concept art for my little nightmares au. I'm going to workshop the designs a bit tbh; change some aspects of the clothes and probably some of their hairstyles as well, since they all look more or less the same? but for now i have a basic idea and hopefully posting this will help keep up my motivation to continue developing this au; hell, maybe I'll even start writing some short stories for it. I'm not sure yet how much I'll stay true to the current storyline of little nightmares (at least however much story there is) and how much I'll change to fit the story i want to tell tbh. for now though, this'll be a simple character-replacement type au, and I guess we'll see where we go from there.

"ABRAHAM MOSS KILLED YESTERDAY ON A. C. R. MILE 3," Sault Star. July 2, 1913. Page 1. ---- Body Found by Track and Thought Train Ran Over Him. ---- Walking along the A.C.R. track yesterday morning about seven o'clock, one of the men engaged on bridge work at Mile 3, discovered lying on the track the mutilated body of Abraham Moss, a farmer who resided in East Korah. One hand had been cut off, both legs were broken and he was badly cut about the face.
Moss left his home late Monday evening to walk into town, and it is surmised that coming along the track in the darkness he was run into by a passing freight train. Two trains passed there that night, one about 9.30 p.m. and the other about 1 a.m., but neither the engineers nor firemen on these trains noticed anything wrong.
The deceased man is survived by his wife and two daughters. He was a man of about fifty-five or fifty-six years of age, and was a charter member of Royal Standard Lodge No. 112 of the Sons of England in the Sault and had lived in this vicinity for a good many years.
Yesterday afternoon Coroner McLurg and the jury viewed the remains at Simpson's morgue, and the inquest will be held Thursday evening.
The members of the jury are, Wiliam Devine (foreman), John James John Patton, Louis Byron, Theodore Roy, James Robinson and John Borathe.

So Fiasco has more than one sire?
Okay I should explain this but the Fiasco plotline is based on the fic "Long Nights" by Borath, except I've series-ified the pre-series au and made somehow the most blorbo oc ever
But:
Optimus = 'Sco's bio sire
Soundwave = the official stepsire and primary code donor
Starscream = ??? Even though we see Star slip into a more professional role in the fic as MegaSound fell into monogamy, we DO see him in the original fic being seriously protective of carrying Megs, and in the Fiasco Plotline I like to think this translates into our blorbo OC's upbringing (as did the eradicons/vehicons :3)
