Now that I've started posting the new content from Yibbum, and not just revisions of the old chapters, I feel more mentally settled to work and finish the next fics. Take What You Want needs just one chapter. No point starting another sprawling wannabe epic. Taking Me Over Completely has a rough outline that I intend to work through the same way I did Yibbum.

I need help, a new fan fic idea from to much free time spent on Tumblr.

Someone needs to stop me. I'm reading all these posts here and I'm like opened word and writing a new fan fic again 😱 But like Bonnie in a polymerous relationship, with Kai and Kol 👀 Plus an OC character since, I love making OC's and it seems like fun. I've thought about this idea on multiple occasions, actually and it just seems like something that would be fun to play with. What do you think?

I just wanna say Respectablealcoholic has a beautifully written fic centered around exactly that. It’s called the Hearsay Series. The first part “The Invitation Barrier” is about Bonnie and Kai’s dynamic immediately after he saves her in 6x22 after Damon leaves her to die.

Thank you for ur amazing fic rec!! I actually read @respectable-alcoholic's Heresy series waaayyy back before I even had a tumblr or ao3 and I remember the thrill of refreshing ffn.net every few days/weeks back then to see if a new chapter had come out yet :') (yes folks, this was a time when more of the bonkai fandom posted on ffn rather than ao3 lol!) And you are SO RIGHT anon, I think Bonnie and Kai *both* had many moments of descending to such extreme levels of spite in that series, it had me glued to the screen!

The whole trilogy was an emotional roller-coaster that I strongly recommend. The angst, tension, conflicts and smut were *sublime* and pretty believable extensions of canon imo, tho i will say- when that story got dark, it got DARK. Like my soul sometimes felt *heavy* bc the series did not shy away from letting characters brutally hit their lowest points and it was gut-wrenchingly painful, but also necessary for that story tbh. Really intense series overall, people go check it out if u haven't already! It's like an iconic part of the bonkai fandom collection srsly ask anyone!

Thank you so much! I think Bonnie as a character had so much story left unmined on the show and so many relationships/dynamics that could have played out better, differently, or just at all. I decided a long time ago, because Bonnie was so limited, abused, and under developed on the show, that I wouldn't limit the amount of stories I would tell with her or the amount of people I'd ship her with.

As far as Bonkai goes, I've thought about writing a few fics for them. Initially I didn't write for them because I had stopped watching prior to Kai's appearance. Then thanks to @scorpio-karma I saw their scenes and got invested in the ship. So, I do have some drabbles for them here on tumblr.

However, I haven't been able to get any full fledge fics up just yet. For them I've had more all human AU ideas than anything for canon. I have thought particularly about doing a version of the Netflix show You with Bonkai and also had a plot bunny for a fic inspired by the 2018 film Beast come to me as well.

But a combination of the lack of time and to be honest being a bit intimidated by that sect of the fandom has kind of kept me from posting anything as I want to make sure I get Kai's character and voice right before I'm comfortable actually publishing anything. I had the same feeling about Bamon when I first started writing for them which is why it took a while for me to write a fic that was solely a Bamon pairing, which was insatiable. Both ships have very passionate and vocal fans and so I know that if I post something that doesn't hit right I will definitely hear about it. No shade all love but I likely won't post anything until I can be sure I'm fine with the execution of it. Also, because, like with Bamon, the Bonkai fandom is still active, its hard to find a plot that hasn't been done already related to canon. In any case I'm hoping I can get something together one day and post it. Maybe I'll try a one shot and feel things out and go from there.
