What's one of your favorite series? • One of mine is Serpent & Dove! It was the book that started my bookstagram actually. The concept really stood out to me and I fell in love with the characters. Blood & Honey really broke my heart so im still recovering from it but I love Lou's personality. Her and Reid are so grumpy/sunshine and I live for it! I don't know if Mr. Santiago (OUTCASTComix on Deviantart (@brandontheoutcast on Tumblr and on Instagram)'s seen that british slasher spoof of A. A. Milne's beloved characters from The Hundred Acre Wood (I know I don't want to see it since those guys are forever part of my childhood after all), but I think even Erma would prefer the "willy nilly silly old bear" and his timid, little piglet pal in the way we all know them as.

I also think it's really sad seeing a well-loved children's thing being used for something adult-oriented and kids aren't supposed to watch or hear it (especially since I've recently heard about another adult Winnie the Pooh parody going to be made soon). I don't own any of these characters. Note. Trust me. This picture gets even more heartwarming when you look at it while also listening to Kenny Loggins' Return to Pooh Corner. ;)

The theory that Walter Benjamin had about nothing is original and things can easily be reproduced got me thinking about how prevalent this theory is in the movie industry. Lately, many movie companies have been remaking and or doing spin offs using characters from the original movie. Recently some ownership rights have expired for certain original characters and other movie studios are buying the rights to reuse the characters. Original characters from Winnie the Pooh were bought by a different movie company and are now being used in a horror movie. Next year, a movie titled “Blood and Honey” is set to be released and it stars Winnie the Pooh characters as blood thirsty killers. This is the complete opposite of the original intention of the animated children's series that the characters starred in. By using original characters from a children's series in a horror movie the creator of the new movie is reproducing the images of the characters, but changing the political function of the characters. Originally, the political function of the characters was to provide entertainment to young children, and now they are functioning in the new movie as murderous killers. However in this case, the aura isn’t the same when the original characters and horror movie characters are put side by side. In the movie, the characters have been changed to look more villainous than their original soft design. In the future, this could happen more often as more ownership rights expire for other characters. While this is a more comical look at Walter Benjamin’s theory it still applies heavily to the entertainment industry, especially when it comes to ownership rights of certain characters. Also the movie is an example of a digital form of reproduction. Hopefully no children accidentally stumble upon this movie on the internet and think it is intended for them.

Comment survivront-ils alors qu'ils n'ont nulle part où se cacher ?

• Avis :

La fin du tome 1 m'avait donné envie de lire la suite mais pour ce tome 2 c'est un échec cuisant.

Rien n'a réussi à trouver grâce à mes yeux, ni les personnages, qui soit m'ont agacé (Lou et Reid en particulier) soit m'ont ennuyé, ni l'histoire que j'ai trouvé longue et mal rythmée. 

Les relations n'évoluent pas au contraire elles semblent même faire du surplace ou régresser ce qui m'a beaucoup frustré je dois dire. 

J'étais ravi d'apprendre que d'autres créatures allaient rejoindre l'aventure comme des loups-garous par exemple mais même là ce fut un échec à mes yeux car on ne les côtoie que très peu et pas comme je l'espérais. 

Une déception, j'ignore encore si je lirai le tome 3.
