He shot up to his full height then, taking me with him- and for a split second, that glint of venomous green shone in his eyes again, and I had to fight with every urge in my body to not inhale sharply in anticipation and shock as I felt his warm breath against my face, his mouth just shy of the corner of my lips. “Do you really want this?”

I was in too much of a state of heightened sense to nod, let alone function properly, even though my brain wanted to scream out, “Yes, you absolutely handsome yet idiotic Toa, I want this so badly, I’ve wanted this since we stopped Makuta together and I had to force myself not to do it first, I don’t give a shit that we’re Hordika and that this is probably the so-called “inner beast” taking over our better judgement, I don’t care, kiss me already, please,” and despite me not answering him immediately, he continued.

“If I do this,” he muttered lowly, the hand that was over my heart slowly, agonizingly slowly, trailed up my chest, to my shoulder, my neck, then back down to graze his fingers over the glowing stone again. “I don’t know if I’ll be able to control myself.” He looked up at me properly again, pupils dilated, gaze so intense and heavy that I could feel it in my bones. His face was an inch away from mine and he raised his other hand up to cup my cheek, fingers pressing into my skin. “I won’t be able to stop.”

My forehead rested against his own. Less than an inch, now, and with one final push, I grazed my fingers against his shoulder, eyes lidded, and lips parted in waiting.

“...Then don’t.”

And with that, my back was slammed harshly against the wall and Vakama crushed his mouth to mine in a passionate, searing kiss, metallic lips stealing away the remaining air that left my lungs as he dug his fingers into my waist and cast aside any last fears or cares he had- he wanted all of me, and I was his to claim, willingly and whole. The grip I had on his shoulders tightened until my knuckles practically turned white and I kissed him back with such ferocity and hunger that I could feel the air around us, heavy and thick with carnal urges and desires, and it threatened to completely consume me and swallow me whole.

But I didn’t give a single damn in the world. -- I may not be a solely/mainly self-ship blog anymore but that doesn't mean for one second that I won't gush nonstop about Bionicle (and by extension Vakama who is still one of the loves of my fucking life). This comic-style page I got commissioned of one of the pivotal moments from Chapter Two of my fanfic, A Distant Spark, is probably one of my favorite things ever- I absolutely screamed when I got the finished thing back. <3 (Art is by @MadProjectArt on Twitter/X!)

The whump ideas, both emotional and physical

Takua, in Ta-Metru, having an inexplicable, sometimes irrational fear of the dark. It gets to the point where he can't even go out at night or go anywhere that has no light. It's so bad that he sleeps holding a light stone. It goes well until he is one day arretsed and left alone in the dark. It's not long until Takua PANICS because he's alone in the dark and anything could get him. After he's let out, he never sleeps without a light stone. It's a fear that stays with him even when he's in Mata Nui, though Turaga Vakama does help him deal with it

The Toa Metru are in Ko-Metru and have to cross a canal. They all have ideas, but Nuju's wins when he freezes the water so it's thick enough for them to walk across. There is the tense feeling that the ice could break at any given second, so the Toa all try to be quick as they walk. There's a moment where someone falls on the ice, but doesn't break it, which makes everyone hold their breath for a moment. They all hear the ice cracking around them and pick up the pace, but they realize that Vakama has stopped moving entirely, and see that he's producing heat and slowly melting the ice around him until it starts cracking beneath him. Nuju and Nokama try to tell him to stay calm as Vakama slowly approaches, trying not to panic as he sees the cracks follow him, and he ultimately falls into the ice. It sends everyone into a panic, more so when Nokama dives after him and, out of sheer panic, Nuju's powers activate at the worst possible time and refreezes the ice, trapping Vakama and Nokama under the water. They are able to get both Toa out of the freezing waters and the team gets away from the canal with their lives, but where Nokama is freezing and can't stop shivering, Vakama is more or less knocked out cold, having passed out after nearly drowning and freezing to death. The team does get to a somewhere they can get a fore going and get their brother and dister warmed back up, but it's the first time they see Nuju look so genuinely afraid for his fellow Toa and also look haunted at what he'd nearly caused to happen, even when Whenua comforts him

Lhikan starting off as an optimistic, looker-ahead when he starts off as a Toa, but he ends up no longer being as hopeful, as he loses his friends, previous life, and even having to kill one of his own friends and see another betray him and get mutated into a four legged monster

Vakama's visions cause him headaches. Bad ones. And if he isn't racing to the visions and either dodging or racing stuff that isn't there, imagine if he instead froze on the spot or had a panic/anxiety attack or, most damaging, had a seizure, either while standing or collapsing to the ground in front of the other Toa. If it's the latter, it's something the team and Vakama keep an eye on because if he starts collapsing during battle, they cannot save him

Roodaka capturing Toa or Toa-Hordika Vakama, and when manipulating him doesn't work, she leaves him alone in the cell/"room" he was tied in. Maybe Vakama shouts that leaving him alone is a bad idea because he can just escape, but after a day or two, and being unable to get out, the solotude starts getting to him and he starts hearing and seeing things that aren't there, the hallucinations getting worse the longer he's left alone. Maybe to make it worse, Roodaka still visits Vakama and offers her proposal again and again. As much as Vakama revels in seeing an actual physical being and not a figment of his mind, he does not listen, so Roodaka casually tortures him and leaves him alone again, even when Vakama shouts for for not to, because he's that desperate to not be alone again.

Nokama having a sort of "freak out" because she's so used to being a teacher, a mentor, a natural leader, and having that weight taken off of her by Vakama and the other Toa is fine, but she's not sure what to do with herself.

This idea came from @sammykat2hb-blog . After their escape from the coliseum, instead of what's seen in the movie/book, Matau, Nokama, and Vakama are shaken and stirred after the day's events, even more so when Dume announces that they're frauds and frames them for all Metru Nui to see. Nokama, in a moment of complete anger and despair, shouts and maybe even punches one of the chute towers, which only hurts her. Matau is completely silent, only crouching to the ground as he reels and maybe gets overwhelmed with emotions. Vakama is caught between the two, being distraught to where he wants to just break down, but freezing because some small part of him knows Lhikan wouldn't have broken like that, and that leads to an inward battle of wanting to be upset, to be hurt, to break for a second; he was a mask-maker and a tool-maker. He knows how to put things back together again. Instead, the three simply sit side by side under the tower, all of them terrified and holding onto each other, a gesture that is awkward because they've never reached out for comfort like needing to be held, but they've got each other

Alternatively, in their cell, Onewa is doing everything he can to try and get out, banging on the door, striking the ceiling window above, and shouting that they were framed, maybe even shouting for the dark hunters to come back and deal with the Toa themselves. Whenua is taking a more quiet approach and trying to figure out what's around them, but he's having a hard time because Onewa won't shut up. Nuju, unlike both of them, has pressed himself into the corner as hard as he can, trying not to snap because, being more of the "solitary" type, there's nowhere he can go to get away from Onewa and Whenua, and, with where their cell is, he can't even look up or see the stars or sky(the light is reflected off a mountain side) so he's not having a good time. It all comes to a head when Whenua makes Onewa stop yelling and Onewa just stares at the Toa with absolute fear in his eyes because they're trapped in prison, they don't have their mask or elemental powers, they have no idea where the others Toa are, and they can't get out, so, for all they know, they could end up worse off than Lhikan: Disappearing, having their names dragging through the mud, and eventually being forgotten amd lost to time. Nuju screams at them both to shut up and the three, like Vakama, Matau, and Nokama, sit side by side, terrified, but together. It's awkward to sit together, but they've got each other and that's enough to calm them down

Vakama and the other Toa Metru struggling with the fact they were chosen and did not choose, dealing with a loss of autonomy over themselves and with how they didn’t get a say in what happened to them because they were chosen and, if they're going to be Toa, then they'll be the best Toa they can be despite it

The Matoran on Mata Nui all struggling post-memory wipe because they all know they're forgetting something, but don't know what it is, and all have knowledge they don't remember learning. It frightens them and confuses them, but they learn to cope as they adjust to their island home

In Time Trap, to try and get Vakama to spill the beans, Teridax uses the illusion of Takua and Jaller to try and get Vakama to tell him where the Mask of Time is, knowing the three were close. It goes well with Vakama being ruefully fooled into thinking he's with his friends, even as he goes to look around Metru Nui for answers about the new "reality" around him. When Vakama does realize and have it confirmed that the world he's in isn't real, he's gutted because he misses his old life and his friends. When "Takua" and "Jaller" try asking him what's up, Vakama admits he knows they're not really there, that they're in their forced slumber and they won't remember him when they wake up, that the world they're all in isn't real even if there's some part of him that wants it to be. With that, and his "friends" asking what he's talking about, Vakama throws a Kanoka disk, and it passes through them both. Vakama is resolved as the illusion breaks, but is still haunted by seeing his friends again because he'll never really have that friendship again

Jaller as a Toa experiencing TREMENDOUS guilt because as much as he fights to do the right thing, it's done nothing but hurt everyone because it didn't stop Teridax. Add to that the events of the final arc in Bionicle where he's mesmerized by a Golden being(I could be wrong about the name) and effects of being free from that feel like going through withdrawl even if being mesmerized left him open to be killed

So, I can’t believe I actually need to do this and this crap is still going on.

As some of you guys might remember, a number of users publicly spoke about how they had been repeatedly harassed by a user by the AO3 pen name Hordika.

At the time, I elected to keep quiet about my personal run-ins with this person. I’d had some but they paled in comparison to what others had experienced and I generally prefer to avoid drama on this blog. I posted some memes and supported my friends, but that was as much as I wanted to involve myself.

However, it seems someone is not content to just let people live their lives.

Recently, an account started reblogging my posts. I didn’t notice anything strange about that until someone showed me a screeching rage post sent to another blog. I recognised the user name and went to that blog and was surprised to see that almost all they had done was reblog my stuff. That got my attention. (They have 12 posts on their account, 10 of which are reblogging my stuff).

Their own blog posts were ridiculous strawman arguments that I’d seen before from the sock/alt accounts of the harasser. Opinions they’d accused me of having because I dared disagree with them.

Someone sending vicious anons to anyone sounded like an ass I don’t want reblogging my stuff, so I blocked the account.

I don’t know if the fandom harasser was trying (badly) to pretend to be me or was trying to poison my stuff by association, but they seemed to change tactics after I blocked them.

Today, they reblogged a post and outright said they were @uneryx.

This is categorically untrue.

I spoke privately to @uneryx about this weird account days before any of this went down and it is so clearly not her. For anyone to believe otherwise is legitimately shocking to me. DB is way smarter than that. Additionally, it would be totally illogical for anyone to create a sock and then... admit they are the sock? To what end? It makes no sense.

I have one account one Tumblr. This is it. I don’t send pathetic passive aggressive or outright aggressive anons to people I disagree with. I generally just don’t interact with takes I disagree with. I’m not here for discourse. I’m here to have fun and chill out.

I do have alternate accounts on Reddit. One is so I can chat on the fanfic sub without people going to my fics (for whatever reason).

The other was specifically to avoid Hordika coming into my anons and harassing me. Which is exactly what he did minutes after I deliberately used my main to interact with one of the 20+ Reddit sock/alts.

Interacting on my main was a test Hordika immediately failed. No sooner had I responded to them on my main Reddit account than I got these bullshit asks.

And as I’m sure you know, Hordika, I was not banned from reddit. YOU were. (Not that this stopped you making more socks/alts, Sufficient_Slice9853 and FantasticAstronaut73). In fact, the Dragon Prince sub brought in a rule to auto delete comments from new accounts because they were tired of your shit. So, like, cool, I guess? Well done.

This person is making fandom very unfun. As others have said before, I recommend blocking them. They constantly make socks/alts to continue harassing people, so it’s an on-going process unfortunately. I would recommend at the very least deleting obvious bad faith asks. And even potentially bad faith asks. It’s not worth giving them a platform, in my opinion. If their own takes can’t stand alone, that’s telling enough.

And Hordika, please, dude, please. Get a productive hobby. Stop trying to start drama between people. It is beyond pathetic at this point.

6. Favorite fic (or one of them)?

Oh I don't know if it has to do with mine or somebody's else's so I'll pick both of them.

First off, I really love my Rogues and Dragons fanfic. I feel like it could get better and better. I already can see improvement on my writing style in it.

Also, its dungeons and dragons. I mean, its the first dnd au I am writing in the fandom but I really love how the story can become a campaign one day.

OKAY NOW ITS THE HARD PART, I LOVE EVERYTHING MY FRIENDS WRITE OKAY!

So I'm going to just list off my top 5 fics (I know I had to choose one but RULES ARE MEANT TO BE BROKEN) in no particular order:

@numptypylon Down to Earth series (Downtime in Wartime, Down Below the Ocean, etc) i just couldn't pick just one so technically i picked one series (upside downtime comes in second too)

@iwillhaveamoonbase We Could Be Heroes. Its amazing okay? The story. The lore. Also sandwiches. (Please read Between Twilight too. Highly recommend it!)

@zuppizup she has two fics that are deserves to be in this spot but I will just make this easy and say the first angsty fic (above more angsty fanfics) I have read in the fandom and by her, Husk. Purgatory and Zoommates come in a very tight second (I will yell at you guys if you hadn't read them please do!)

Oh dear, I have to pick 2 more? I should just make a huge rayllum fanfic recommendation post because I feel like this and my incoherent blabbing is already making this post long. Soooo, I am picking @deetheteadrinkingdragon Chronicles of the Midnight Compass, as another one of my favorites. Dee writes an amazing rayllum slow burn and she's just an overall amazing person too!

@jellyjay / @jellytartsandfanfiction Delicate series are classics and must be protected. I love the oneshots they wrote before and after season 3 aired too.

Do you think callum going after rayla will be one of the reasons of conflict between ezran and callum? Because if callum is going obsessed after her, so ezran is going to feel abandoned by him aswell, especially because ezran is a child and a king, and won’t have time to look for rayla, and has to bury his feeling while his brother is not giving him the support he needs

I think some conflict between Ezran and Callum is inevitable. I even thought that before TTM, and @blog-hordika-us and I wrote the fic Before the Moon which detail how we thought a conflict could emerge between the boys.

I think that all had changed was the source of the conflict, but it’s still the same issue--Callum being pulled to Xadia while still tethered to Katolis, and becoming alienated from Ezran.

It’s just now not a political or philosophical disagreement, but something much more personal. Kind of like you said, Ez will feel abandoned by his brother, even if Callum is doing everything he can to look for Rayla (or alternatively, Viren) in Xadia while also flying home as often as possible. Ezran might also think that Callum is losing himself by fixating on his search, and so the two brothers will drift apart.

It’ll probably be a breaking of the fellowship, for a time at least.

Things were rapidly going wrong in Bara Magna. Makuta Onezu Nuva’s grip over the southeast was growing ever wider and stronger, and even the desperate emergency plan put into motion by Turaga Pohatu had somehow gone awry. Tanma had not arrived at Faxon Koro as planned. Rahaga Kafes was distraught.

But perhaps destiny was still on the side of light. In this darkest of hours, fate had gathered in and around Faxon Koro a small group of beings: some weary, disillusioned veteran heroes; some driven and reckless youngsters; many, in some strange way, both at the same time. All of them more powerful than anyone suspected, least of all themselves. All of them unsettled at what was happening to their people. All of them lost and unsure of what to do... except, perhaps, the young Glatorian from New Tesara. She had a fire inside her. She could unite them.

With her help, Kafes organized one last stand. They created a team. An unlikely crew to be sure, but one that somehow gave Kafes more reassurance than she had had in years. It was a sign. Mata Nui was with them. The team’s mission? Find out what happened to the Toa Avohkii. Bring them back. And strike at Onezu when and where he would never expect it.

Once again, I shove in all of the voyatoran just because I can. In all seriousness though, I really did want to include Garan, Kazi, and Piruk in the story, and Buruka’s just fun to throw in there too, but really the core toa team here is the toa and glatorian. Also, fun fact, this whole project (by which I mean both the ROO story and the blog) was basically all started when I came up with the character concept for Gyraci of all people. The whole story and all the characters I built (original or not) grew out of thinking about who he would be and how he would interact with people. Not that he’s, like, the star of the show or anything (if I had to choose a protagonist for ROO at this point it would be either Dalu or Tanma), but I did just want to acknowledge that he was the catalyst for everything I’ve done with this story and this blog.

And with that... this concludes all of the MOCs I was planning to post related to this weird little story I’ve been doing. I don’t really know if this is end of ROO content on this blog or not... I’d like to come back to it and maybe actually WRITE SOMETHING at some point, and maybe someday I’ll come up with more ideas for characters to build and add to it. But at this point in time I’ve gone through all of the character ideas I had, and I have other original MOCing content I wanna post for a while.

for clarification, the poll was meant to investigate, because i was curious, how many people i had potentially influenced in my writing(s) about callum analysis wise. i actually expected option 2 to be the most common (aka that people already saw him that way) since that's what i've found in my circles; most of the other rayllum writers and shippers i've spoken to reached those conclusions themselves after S2 or S3, if not earlier. so option 1 being the most popular was the first big surprise, as was as many people picking "want to see the results"

here's where things go from surprising to weird. earlier this afternoon, the poll was sitting around 120-ish people and had been in that vein for most of the week since it was published, climbing maybe a few votes every day after the initial boom in a variety of the categories the first like day and a half.

then, steadily, over the course of 5-10 minutes, anywhere from 5 to 15 fresh votes flooded in... all to the same category of "nah i don't see him that way." which wasn't That strange, except

the fandom troll, who is notoriously obnoxiously loud about Not liking this interpretation of callum, also has a tendency of making sock blogs and sending anonymous asks to bait you over and over again, no matter how many times you block them. for Years.

then the number continued to steadily climb solely in that singular category, doubling and then tripling. now, i'm not going to say there couldn't be *check statistics* 50 people who don't see callum as being willing to sacrifice the world for his loved ones/help aaravos if rayla or ezran's lines were quit literally being held at knifepoint, But

When the poll started, I acknowledged the bias the poll would likely be prone to, as my followers - by virtue of following me and seeing and presumably agreeing with what I post - would probably skew in favour of the interpretation, and this was reflected in 6/7 days of the poll's backing, with 60-78% (roughly 70-80 people) of participants leaning towards a shared interpretation. "Nah I don't see him that way" also rose steadily in terms of votes throughout the week day by day, but never cleared more than 8-10 individual people (you're troopers, I respect you, and I hope having the "snake boi Callum" tag makes it easier for you to blacklist accordingly so that you can enjoy your fandom experience)

The Snake Boi Callum interpretation is popular enough in fandom that we actually had a fandom event for it a few months back, plenty of people participated who I felt I wasn't familiar with as well as people I knew I would, and the pieces of art/fic/playlists regularly got 50-150 notes. If there are 50+ people who disagree with said interpretation, they are, generally speaking, not a group who's often actually making things for the fandom at large in terms of fic, fanart, other forms of creation, and not a ton of meta weekly or monthly about the topic and/or outside of that general wheelhouse, either. The 'pro' side is conversely a lot more active; most of the people who have written fic about said topic(s) aren't even me, but other cool lovely talented individuals over the past 3-ish years

The initial wave of votes happened when I posted the poll in the "snake boi Callum," "Rayllum," "tdp," and "the dragon prince" tags to reach a broader audience beyond my more immediate active follower range (as like, 90% of my followers are lurkers, which - respect). This is when it would've made sense if there was going to be an uptick in "nah I don't see him that way" to build

Instead, it happened 6 days into the poll when it was already decently buried by tags, I had recently self-reblogged it back into my accordingly biased circles, and rather than having a general variety, only a singular category went up by close to 40 people in like 3 hours. I tend to gain anywhere from 6-10 followers a week (for example, this week was 6) so that also does not account for the massive leap in a very short amount of time

Therefore, keeping to roughly 125 votes for posterity, and when removing the originally 30-ish or so people who voted for "see results" (significantly less than the first category, but more than the second by a decent margin) as well as the real 10 votes for "nah, I don't see him that way," approximately 85 people voted explicitly in favour of Snake Boi Callum / one of the first two options in general, with my meta being cited as the biggest influence. This is also with me rounding up the numbers of the other categories to likely more than they were, but I want to account for the potential error of my memory, as I wasn't keeping track of where things were super specifically before it started to smell like meddling.

Again, it's not that there couldn't be 50 people with that opinion, it's just that 40 of them, Realistically, did not suddenly come out of the woodwork in the span of 1-2 hours to consecutively vote in only one (1) category 6 days after that would've actually, marginally, made sense in terms of tagging / seeing it in the main tags.

If you're wondering why I presented all my ~ evidence ~ it's because if not, I'd probably be labelled as a liar and/or dismissed (it's happened before, unfortunately) and honestly, it ended up being a little funny to dig into how presumably nuts this got.

TLDR;

Anyway if you ever feel like you're deeply insecure and worried that you're idiotically clout chasing, remember you will never be as Embarrassing as the guy who made close to 39 sock blogs in one afternoon to try and 'one up' someone over an opinion they have regarding a children's tv show protagonist who's believed biggest flaw is that he Loves His Friends.

Since there's a new sock playbook happening and it's slightly different than the old one, thought I'd nip this one in the bud. In the past week three (3) different blogs have been made to rebuttal my and other's posts about the theory that Callum will free Aaravos. Which, fair enough - people can disagree and if I don't like what someone is adding to my posts, I can block 'em on both my side AND my main.

But, granted, that only works if the person respects the blocking boundary.

So here are some of the new signs:

Blog has left the old 'three words mashed together' schtick and is implementing a usually 2 word TDP themed mashup

Blogs are all mostly TDP with another fandom worked in

Blog is randomly made, reblogs posts in the other fandom, and then makes their foray onto one of my or other's posts to rebuttal

Known potential socks (in order of apparent appearance):

Virenhunter. Seemingly made on August 17th, reblogged my posts and others. Lied about wanting to not clog up my notifications since I was OP of the post they were arguing on and I had blocked them (simply because, so they had to make a new post - which is fair - but then offered up a false excuse.) Dragonrecap. The similar naming structure, quick appearance, and reblogging one of my posts to be contrarian in such close order is what initially made me suspicious this was a sock / burgeoning harassment situation.

Moonabovemoon. Same previous tells, also recently made, reblogged one of my clearly theorizing but also very much joking posts (note my own tags of "tone gets increasingly unhinged" and hordika asking a question of how I have also answered many many times re: Callum doing it to save a loved one).

As always, I don't really care if people disagree, but it's obtuse to 1) shove it onto multiple posts, 2) ignore blocking boundaries by making socks to get around it, and 3) specifically, repeatedly target things I've made or posted (mocking my "predictions achieved" tag when it's existed since 2019 and has had nothing to do with these theories until they started happening, mocking a post I made where I mentioned s5 being like a victory lap for my characterization of Callum not really caring about being Lied To when 5x01 proved that too, etc). when I tag everything accordingly in multiple ways for tag blocking purposes, I encourage people to block me, and you can use tumblr saviour to ensure you don't see any of my posts unfiltered on your dash.

Either way: PSA for the fandom, the usual old tells of "isn't Rayla so cute and small and Callum is so strong and principled," has a new front. He cannot / refuses to be reasoned with, cannot manage to have a respectful disagreement without either losing his cool or playing the victim when he's called out for it, and has a habit of targeting marginalized creators in particular (which given the sexism towards Rayla makes perfect sense). Best thing to do is just block and not engage as much as you can, and keep on enjoying the various theories and interpretations you like in peace. 👍

so given that my poll has gone up 6-10 votes in like 5 minutes all in one category now after a few days of stagnation, and in the category that has 1) consistently, understandably per my followership, been the lowest and 2) we have a known harasser who abides by said opinion that also has a habit of making sock blogs i'm just. Keeping an eye on it

edit: bc it went from 9 people to 24 in just like 10-15 minutes - yeah i'm calling bullshit. but i will say i love that the troll is an Idiot who waited for the last day of polling until the majority of the votes for all the options were in (when a fast increase at the beginning would've been far more plausible and i would've been far more likely to take it at genuine face value) because like.
