Please tell me that with 'Johnny and Kitty pocess Superman and Batman' That they are either on a date or go on a date after a fight? Please this needs to happen
@britcision also asked about this one!
So I was looking through what I wrote of this and...it's not that good. It's based on a prompt from back in Nov 2022 and I was still figuring things out back then and needed to rewrite everything I wrote at least once. It's less crack than you'd expect from the title, I'm afraid.
So I'm gonna do part of that rewrite. Because I'm insane and don't have self control. 🤣
Anyway, the prompt is from @zeestarfishalien and can be found here. Oddly it doesn't have half as many notes as I remember it having. Huh. Guess I thought it had more because I latched onto it so strongly.
Anyway, enjoy!

"Danny!" yelled Jazz from downstairs.
Danny froze for just a moment. That was Jazz's something-is-wrong voice. He dropped through the floor to get to her that much quicker. "What happened?" he demanded.
She just pointed to the TV where a news reporter was standing in a city. Behind her, Batman stood next to the open driver's side door to the batmobile while Superman floated in the air a few feet away with his arms crossed.
"Don't look at me like that, baby," said Batman.
"I will look at you however the hell I want. You forgot our date, asshole!" yelled Superman back.
The reporter grinned at the camera. "Looks like quite the lover's tiff we've stumbled upon! Who would have ever suspected Batman and Superman of being in a relationship?"
Behind her, Superman used his heat vision to shoot at Batman who cursed loudly before jumping into his car and speeding off. Superman huffed and flew in the opposite direction. Jazz muted the TV while the reporter continued making speculations about Batman and Superman's relationship. Danny stared at Jazz in horror.
"That was—"
"Yeah. Yeah, I think it was."
Danny closed his eyes and thought about the half finished essay he had upstairs and the history test he had the next day and how his parents would be home in an hour. He wanted to cry.
"I have to go to Gotham."
"I'll take care of our parents. Have you had the flu yet this year?"
Danny's laugh had a hysterical edge to it. "Tuck's been keeping track of my excuses. Ask him. I'll just…" Danny let the sentence trail as he transformed and flew out of the house without another word.
Even flying as fast as he could, he didn't arrive in Gotham until night had fallen. He tried to sense Johnny or Kitty or listen for the chaos that always followed them, but the city was so big.
After over half an hour of searching with no luck, Danny was sitting on a roof with his head buried in his knees trying not to cry. He only had so many hours before he had to be back in Amity for school. If he missed any more days, he'd get a suspension and his parents would be livid.
Just then, the clock tower chimed ten. Danny lifted his head to look at the tall building, one of the tallest in the city. He might not have any idea how to find Batman, but surely the other heroes would. Maybe he could get their attention?
In a matter of minutes, he was floating above the clock tower. With a deep breath, he shot an ectoblast up into the sky. Two minutes later, he repeated the action.
Not long after his fifth blast, two grapple hooks attached to the tower near his feet and seconds later he was facing Batman and Robin.
Danny immediately fell into a fighting stance. "Johnny, I'm not going to let you get away with this. Get out of him. Now."
But instead of calling him a do-gooder nerd, Batman pulled out a batarang and held it ready to throw. "I'm not this Johnny," he growled.
Danny relaxed and sighed in relief. "Oh thank the ancients, you got him out. I'm so, so sorry, Batman! I know you and the Justice League are relying on me to keep the ghosts from escaping Amity. Johnny and Kitty must’ve gotten past me. How'd you get Johnny out? Were you able to help Superman? Kitty is at least reasonable most of the time so I hope she didn't give you any trouble. Where are they now? I'll just collect them and bring them back to the Realms."
Robin pulled out his sword and pointed it at Danny. "What do you know of Fa— Batman's condition? Who is this 'Johnny' you speak of?"
Danny's core stuttered in his chest. The kid couldn't mean… He looked past the blade pointed at him towards Batman. "You… aren't Batman. Are you? You're covering for him while Johnny is overshadowing the real one."
Batman put a hand on Robin's shoulder. "Lower the sword, Robin." To Danny, he said, "I think you owe us some explanations."
Danny buried his head in his hands and tried to bite back the tears. He was so tired. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. This is my fault. They got past me and I failed. I'm so sorry."
“Desist with your groveling and explain!” ordered Robin.
“Right, yeah. Of course. Sorry.” Danny looked up, but the stars were hidden behind smog and lights. He sighed. “I’m Phantom, of course. Responsible for monitoring the portal in Amity and keeping ghosts from coming through and causing problems on Earth. Also for stopping human hunters from hurting any ghosts. Johnny and Kitty, two ghosts, must have gotten past me. I’m careful, I swear. We set up an alarm on the portal so I know the moment someone comes through, but I missed them somehow. I…maybe they came through at the same time as someone else? I’ve had to deal with Skulker and Boxy so far this week. And Queen Dora came for a visit and one of Pandora’s people stopped by to drop something off. So if Johnny and Kitty came through at the same time… Pariah curse it, I should’ve realized. What a stupid design flaw. I’ll be working on a fix for that as soon as I get out of school tomorrow. I’d do it sooner, but I’ve a test you see. And if I miss any more class, I’ll get a suspension, and then my parents really will kill me again.”
Danny winced when he saw Robin’s fingers twitch towards his sword again. “Sorry! No more excuses. It’ll be fixed ASAP, promise. Um, Johnny is generally into motorcycles, but I think he saw the Batmobile and wanted to take it for a ride so he overshadowed Batman. From what I saw on the news, he blew off a date with Kitty to do it so she’s pissed and followed him and ended up overshadowing Superman. Probably so she could use his powers on top of her own to punish Johnny.” He trailed off and waited for the yelling to start.
But they were silent.
Danny shifted from foot to foot. “Again, I’m really sorry. I know you rely on me to keep this from happening and I swear it won’t again. But if you tell me where you think Batman is, I’ll go retrieve Johnny. Same with Superman and Kitty. I need to get this wrapped up by four, maybe four thirty, so I can get home in time for school to start.” He couldn’t hold back a yawn. He just wanted to sleep.
Batman and Robin exchanged a glance and Batman put away his weapon. “I’ve never heard of you or this Amity before. You’re a kid, who is your Justice League mentor? Why aren’t they here?”
“I… What? Justice League mentor? What are you talking about? All of my mentors are ghosts.”
Robin snorted. “Who informed you that it was your responsibility to monitor this portal that allows these ghosts to invade? Why are you the only one preventing attacks such as this?”
Danny bristled. “I’m not alone! Sam and Tucker and my sister help me!”
“Are they kids like you?” asked Batman.
“If by like me you mean ghosts, of course not. They’re fully alive. I’m the only ghost of the group.”
“No,” said Batman after a pause. “That’s not what I meant. I wanted to know if they were teenagers who still go to school like you or if they were adults you worked with.”
Danny shrugged. “Jazz is starting college next year, but yeah. They’re my friends.”
Batman let out a long breath. “Right. And why do you think the Justice League is expecting you, specifically, to monitor this portal?”
Danny threw up his hands. “Because you told me that!” He saw Batman open his mouth to say something and quickly added, “Not you specifically, but, like, the League. This guy Constantine came by a month or two after the portal opened and saw me and relaxed. Said he was glad to see I was already handling things there. Gave me a number and laughed and said if anyone could handle the situation, it’d be me, but I could call if I needed back up.” He shrugged. “And he was right. So far I have been able to handle it. This is an exception and I’ll get it fixed in a few hours tops.”
Robin ground his teeth. “That lazy magician.”
Batman also muttered something under his breath. “Thank you, Phantom. For doing so much on your own. If you tell us how to free Batman and Superman, we can handle it from here.”
“What?” Danny shook his head in confusion. “What are you talking about? You need specialized weapons that I don’t have on me and containment devices and access to a portal to the Realms to get rid of them. Seriously, I can get this taken care of. Just tell me where Batman is.”
Batman sighed again. “We don’t have much of a choice. Fine. But will you be able to get us these weapons and containment devices if we requested some of you? We’ll pay you, of course. And we’d like more details on what you’ve been dealing with. I’m afraid Constantine… did not share the details of your dealings with the rest of us.”
“Yeah, sure. The weapons are made by Drs. Jack and Maddie Fenton of FentonWorks, based out of Amity Park, Illinois. Their son Danny can help you pick out the most useful ones. Some are more torture device than anything, though, so definitely avoid those. Danny will be able to tell you the difference.”
Batman nodded once, jaw clenched. “Thank you. Now, I’ve just gotten an update on the possessed Batman’s location. Follow us.”
-----
Dick is pretending to be Batman here. If they have a "normal" batman out, then they can show the possessed batman is an imposter.
I saw some debate on the original over whether Johnny would possess Batman or Superman. To me, the answer was obvious. He'd possess Batman because he wanted to take the Batmobile for a spin.
Meanwhile, Kitty is the smart one. She'd go for Superman because then she could use his powers and her own to 1) punish Johnny and 2) prevent anyone from stopping them.
Regarding Constantine: He made an oops, but it's not (fully) his fault. Due to time missions from Clockwork, Phantom is shown to be thousands of years old and is known for fantastic feats. If Constantine had known this was some fourteen year old newly dead kid, he'd have acted differently. Instead, he thinks Danny is older than he is with millenia of experience.
This is free for anyone to continue!

Dannymay 2023. Day 7. Weapon. DPXDC.
The Justice League is trying to figure out Danny’s identity, and he’s not happy about it.
~Words hurt more than weapons~
~~~
Wonder Woman: You’re bound by the Lasso of Truth. No more chance of hiding secrets, ghost.
Danny: Are you kidding me?
Batman: Who are you, Phantom?
Danny: "I am a 400-foot tall purple platypus bear with pink horns and silver wings."
Captain Marvel: Wow, you don’t see many Fire Nation princesses these days.
Danny: Hm, at least someone with good taste here.
Danny: Have you even read the Fenton articles? Batman? Anyone? No? Remember. Ghosts will always find a way to lie. Your ribbon has no power over me.
~~~
Danny: ..I have a few words for you too, Batsy. Martha says hi. And she wants you to know that " ..if I see a damn clown in the immediate vicinity of one of my grandchildren or if I find out that you or any of the family are on patrol with broken bones, I’ll spank you as soon as I meet you on the other side. Obey Alfred. With love, Mother."
Flash:..Batman, why are you so pale?
Batman: Someone sprayed the fear toxin. Check the ventilation.
Flash:..
~~~
Superman: Stop it! Listen..
Phantom: I liked you when I was a kid, you know? They say it’s better to never meet your idols. Now I see it's truth.
Superman: You shouldn't be doing this alone. We can help you.
Danny: What makes you think I need your help? Don’t be a hypocrite. Why don’t you take off your glasses at the Daily Planet office? And why do you think that you can tell me what to do with my secret identity?
Danny: Don’t worry, I’m dead but my family is fine. I’m not like you, Big Blue. I will not sacrifice the people I love for my murderous secret.
Superman: What are you talking about?
Phantom: Don’t play dumb. In the land of the dead, people like to talk about the past, you know. You told Jonathan he wasn’t your father, and then you didn’t even try to save him. It’s cruel. But you can be happy, Jonathan doesn’t blame you for his death. I do.
The temperature in the room dropped a few degrees.
Superman: I.. I listened to what he said. He was trying to protect me.
Danny: So, how does it feel? Letting him die in front of you, knowing you could have saved him? Do you blame youself?
Superman: How dare you.
Danny: Of course, you do. Because no matter how many lives Superman saves, the most important one to you..You’ll never got it back. Afraid of being a lab rat? Superman is not special. I am not special too.
Danny: Don’t look down at me just because you have more experience behind you. Revealing my identity should be my choice, not yours.
~~~~
Danny: Stay out of my grave. *turns to Batman* You should stay away from your son’s grave too. Leave the past behind.
~Hairstyle. Sharp tongue. Physique. This Insolence.~
Batman: Jason?
Danny: Wrong ghost, old man.
Batman: ...You’re the one who said a ghost would always find a way to lie.
Danny: Pride and prejudice! *shit, I’m starting to swear like Mr.Lancer, It’s time to finish my english essay.*  I’m not your Robin. Sorry bout that.
~Jane Austen? No hint more obvious. Jay doesn’t want to deal with the League? Well, Bruce doesn’t mind playing along.~
Batman: I understand.
Danny: Thank Ancients! Anyway, I’m leaving. Don’t look for me.
~~~
Tucker: Wow, Danny, when we told you to take care about the League, we thought you’d do it, like, without turning all of them against you.
Danny: Not all of them. And I didn’t do anything wrong. We talked.
Jazz: Danny, believe me, sometimes a conversation with you can cause more damage to your enemies than your ectoblasts.
Sam: Not just to them. Sometimes I also feel like his ideas are melting my brain.
Danny: Hey! Actually, you should be on my side.
Sam: We should?
Danny: Never mind. But if JL set foot in Amity Park I will sic on Wonder Woman her grandfather.
Tucker: But her Grandfather is Kronos. He’s a creep, trying to eat all his kids. Where do you even know such a monster from?
Clockwork *puts a cup of tea on the table and coughs to attract attention*.
Tucker: Wait a minute...
Tucker: Oh mY GOd, Mr. CLocKWoRk I’m sO SorRy, please don’t kill me.
Sam: Now you’ve changed your mind about importance of a healthy vegan diet, Tucker?
Tucker: ..No, I’m not that desperate.
~~~
~At the same time,somewhere in Ghost Zone~
 Martha *teaches Jason to do a choke hold*.
~~~
~At the same time, in one of Amity Park’s alleys.~
Maddie and Jack *discuss ways to capture the Phantom*
Batman *appears behind them*:DoN’t toUcH my the сHiLd.
~~~
Jazz: Don't you think that mentioning Superman's father was too much?
Danny: Maybe.But..when I think about you, mom or dad in dander I can't imagine what would make me freeze and.. It just doesn't make sense, okey?
Jazz: You're still thinking about Dan, right?
Danny: Every.damn.time.

nightwing the cosplayer
Barely 30 minutes into his shopping journey to find a present for his mom, Danny’s ghost sense went off. He only had enough time to grab the Fenton Thermos and wrist ray from his bag, before three vultures infested The Mall. Easily souping the first vulture, Danny zapped Vulture Number Two, but the distance between them made the impact of the ray feel more like a wrist slap than a gutting punch. Vulture Number Two apparently didn’t like that very much and took it upon himself to attack Danny. As if the vultures weren’t bad enough, Razor Claw came crashing through the ceiling right behind them.
“Fenton!” Dash called because he was here too apparently, “Behind you!” When Danny turned around he was expecting Vulture Number Three, another rebel, maybe even Plasmius himself.
Not Nightwing.
Like Nightwing from Gotham, Nightwing. Formerly Robin the First. Member of the Titans and Justice League Jr. Standing there, like, right in front of Danny. “What the fuck?” Danny heard himself say before turning to Dash, who was standing next to him now and felt validated by their shared confusion.
“Are you a cosplayer?” Danny heard Dash whisper-ask Nightwing.
Nightwing, who was just awkwardly and nervously(?) standing there, seemed taken aback by the accusation. “W-What?” He said gracefully, before regaining his composure. He sounded almost indignant “No, I’m the real Nightwing.” As if to prove himself, he pulled out a Bird-a-rang and displayed it to the two teens like it was some kind of rare YuGiO card. Talk about professionalism.
“Looks fake,” Danny said in a mock whisper to Dash, knowing Nightwing could still hear them.
“He’s totally a cosplayer,” Dash responds with a sage nod. Nightwing was about to respond, but the words were knocked out of him when Danny pushed both of them out of the way of an oncoming vulture attack.
Seriously, why in the Ancients was Nightwing here? If one of the Justice Leaguers had to show, then at least someone useful like Zatanna or Dr. Fate, heck even Constantine. But no , he has to get the guy that outgrew his Robin suit.
Razor Claw used his claw to slice at some of the merchandise in a nearby store, laughing in amusement at the shopper’s terror. Danny slipped his bag off, opening up the middle zipper. “There should be three spectator-deflectors and maybe a few rays.” He told Dash, “The Ghost Shield Rooms are probably full by now, so just use that. You two stay here.”
“What? You’re not dealing with this on your own.” Nightwing protested, grabbing his arm before Danny could leave.
Danny gave him an unimpressed look, “And what? Wait for the Justice League to show up?” Danny scoffed.
Nightwing scowled in response, “Still-”
“Dude.” Danny said pointedly, “We do this like every week. This guy’s a small fry, compared to, like, Plasmius.” Danny reassures him before forcing his arm off to blast an incoming Vulture attack, the positing just right to leave him ready for Thermos Time. “Two down. Easy.” Danny told Nightwing, just as Vulture Number Three swooped down at Danny, knocking the thermos out of his hand, causing  it to roll away from Danny’s line of sight.
Him and his big mouth.
Just then, Razor Claw launches an ectoblast at the three of them. Danny rolled out of the way, putting some distance between himself and the sitting ducks. Dash and Nightwing had already put on the specter deflectors, so the shield had popped up just in time to block the attack. “Dash, you’re on guard duty,” Danny said before heading to deal with Razor Claw and the Last Vulture and hopefully find the thermos.
“I’m doing it because I want to and not because you told me to,” Dash yelled back at him from inside the store. Danny could hear more protest from Nightwing, but not even a Gotham hero could defeat a ghost on their first try (especially one without any powers).
“Sure, dude.” Danny shot back, knowing Dash was probably flipping him off.
“I'll have you in my claws soon, pest.” Razor Claw sneered, turning around on his hoverboard to shoot a blast. The shot from the wrist ray missed the ghost but landed a clean hit to the hoverboard, as the device tumbled down ineffective. Not that it really did much- the ghost just used his natural flying abilities to charge at Danny.
“Kwan!” Danny heard Paulina call out somewhere to his left.
“Yeah?” The football player asked back. Danny looked over and noticed he had the thermos right next to him.
“Look! The thermos!” Paulina pointed out to their intellectually declined friend.
“Oh yeah, I have it” Kwan held it up to show her from where she was crouched down. Paulina facepalmed.
“Give it to Danny, you dumbass!” Star practically screamed at her boyfriend.
“Oh, Okay!” Kwan said before rearing to throw the thermos at Danny. Proving why he was a starter for the football team, the thermos landed squarely in Danny’s hands. Not wasting any more time, Danny scooped up Razor Claw and the incoming vulture.
“Good teamwork guys!” Danny called out to them cheerfully knowing they wouldn’t return the energy.
“Shut up, Turd Face,” Dash said, pushing the spectator-deflector into his chest roughly for no other reason than to be Dash. He went off to join his friends in doing whatever he and his friends did.
“That was pretty impressive,” Nightwing walked up to meet Danny, handing his bag and spectator-deflector back “With a little training, you could easily be on par with the Robins.”
Danny bent down to put his stuff back in his bag, “If this is your invitation for me to join Batman’s gaggle of furries, I’m gonna have to give you a hard pass.” Danny responded, looking up to see Nightwing look like he couldn’t decide if he should laugh or not. “Respectfully.” He added half-heartedly.
Nightwing watched him in amusement. “I thought I was a fake?” Nightwing prompted as Danny stood up swinging on his backpack.
“They don’t exactly sell High-Density Reinforced Kevlar in your average corner store,” Danny said, knocking on Nightwing’s insignia lightly. The unique sound of the light impact confirmed his point.
Nightwing gave him an inquisitive look (Danny assumed). “Then why did you tell your friend-”
“Uh!” Danny stopped him abruptly, putting a finger in his face, “We’re not friends.” Danny started walking into a nearby store with Nightwing following him. “And to answer your question, Dash can keep a secret but not from Kwan. Kwan would try to keep it a secret but he'll probably let it slip to Star. Star tells Paulina everything. And Paulina definitely cannot keep a secret. So unless you wanted all of Amity in your business for however long you’re supposed to be here, I did you a favor.” Danny finished, looking through the rows of memorabilia the store offered. He picked up a snow globe with a little ghost inside.
Nightwing was quiet for a while, still following behind Danny as they headed to check out. “Aren’t you gonna ask why I’m here?”
“No,” Danny said, easily asking the check-out lady to gift wrap the globe for him. “It’s probably the Dr. Kilye case. It went pretty big. And if it’s not, then I’d rather stay not knowing.”
“Cool cosplay, dude.” Said the check-out lady, handing Danny his gift bag.
“Thanks,” Nightwing responded awkwardly, as Danny walked away.

cant stop thinking about danny fenton DST mod. sketchdump time
mod concept/rambling under the cut:
Danny Fenton
The Half-Ghost
Favorite food: Veggie Burger (despite the name, this is actually considered a meat item. both sam and tucker would be willing to eat this!)
200 Health | 175 Hunger | 120 Sanity
PERKS:
Is a ghost... sometimes [neutral to ghosts, innate cold resist, human + ghost form]
Human food only feeds half of him [.5x stat gain from food + need for ectoplasm]
Has obsessions to fulfill [increased attack/defense when allies are nearby, decreased stats when no allies, loses sanity/other consequence if allies die]
Has a deadly weakness to electricity [increased damage+sanity loss from lightning, electric damage] ...also damaged by proximity to evil flowers, but this will apply to ALL ghosts, not just danny
ABILITIES:
Transforms into his ghost half by alt-clicking himself.
can fly over/walk through obstacles (ignores collision)
increased damage/defense & increased hunger drain, constant sanity drain
ghost-like sanity drain aura (applies to nearby players except Wendy)
is a "monster" (attacked by pigmen, bunnymen, catcoons, etc)
takes more damage from electricity + evil flowers than his human form. (maybe also increased damage from magic/shadows/planar attacks?)
Cannot talk in ghost form. Uses incomprehensible language instead (either "OooOOOoo" like DST ghosts or made up ghostspeak)
Can shoot ectoblasts by alt-clicking enemies. Costs hunger per use. Usable in both forms, but deals more damage in ghost form.
maybe has a small chance to freeze enemies, with increased chance in winter?
If Danny dies, he leaves his human corpse behind (instead of a skeleton) and is stuck in ghost mode.
Permanently insane, -90% max HP. Corpse needs to be revived with a telltale heart [or some other item] (revives with no health penalty).
If killed again, corpse is replaced with a skeleton and danny becomes a "normal" DST ghost. When reviving using vanilla methods, has a bigger health penalty + sanity loss.
ITEMS/MOBS:
ECTOPLASM. Periodically spawned by ghosts & pipspooks. Chance drop on a ghost's death.
Danny needs to eat ectoplasm regularly or he gradually gets weaker [or some other consequence here].
Can be given to ghosts to make them temporary allies [Danny only]
DOG TOY. Temporarily spawns CUJO.
limited "loyalty" (spawn time) but can be fed ectoplasm to keep him around longer
immortal/can't be killed, loses loyalty instead
can walk on water (ignores collision)
"gets big" whenever danny is attacked. will attack all nearby mobs (even if not aggressive) for a certain amount of time before shrinking again
BLOB GHOSTS. passive mob/won't attack.
either spawn near headstones or around ectoplasm left on the ground
“prey” animals like rabbits (will run away from scary creatures & players, excluding danny/other ghosts)
automatically start following danny whenever he's near + grant him small sanity gain
will periodically spawn ectoplasm on the ground (higher rate than regular ghosts) OR passively restore danny’s ectoplasm meter based on proximity
ectoplasm is guaranteed drop on death (but why would you kill them you monster 🙁🙁🙁🙁)
despawns after a couple days
other potential items/perks:
ectoplasm tracker- points towards ectoplasm/ectoplasm sources on the map. or maybe cujo can track it instead?
fenton thermos- holds ectoplasm and/or ghosts in storage slots?
Other things I'm less certain on:
if ghost form has higher hunger drain, should it also drain the ectoplasm meter faster?
want something to imply that ghosts are emotional creatures/danny's strength is tied to his emotions somehow, but "growing weaker/stronger at low sanity" is an overused perk. maybe he takes increased damage at low sanity?
maybe some other protection based perks idk
maybe his human form should be weaker than average, to encourage gathering/etc in human form, and combat in ghost form?
ok its that it byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Point-Blank
A little scene illustration from the first chapter of my Paradigm Shift AU. Vlad's realizing he might not make it out of this one.
Too weak to fly or phase, nowhere left to go. Vlad would have to try getting back out of the dream while whoever this was shot at him. He put his back to the wall, closed his eyes, and concentrated on leaving, just as he’d done so many times before when overshadowing someone. This was similar enough, it should be easy. Nothing happened. Vlad broke out into a cold sweat and tried again as he heard the pair of boots round the corner. All it did was make him feel more tired. Vlad opened his eyes to see who it was that followed him, and found that he was faced by none other than Jack Fenton. It seemed the dream had a liking for dramatic flair, or was actively trying to spite him. The cold, unavoidable question of whether he could truly die or not in Danny’s dream blitzed across Vlad’s mind as he stared at this new opponent. Jack Fenton, built like a bear and carrying a charged ectoblaster in his right hand as he walked closer, his bulk seeming to block the entire alley and any means of escape. Strangely the big man had no expression on his face as he came to a stop. It didn’t change even when his right arm lifted and brought the blaster level with the center of Vlad’s chest. This wasn’t even Jack as Danny saw him, it was some security protocol placed in the dream by Nocturne to keep outsiders from meddling, dressed in the image of Danny’s father. With little strength left in his legs and Jack’s finger on the trigger Vlad took the one course left that would get him out of taking a lethal shot. He allowed his legs to buckle and tipped himself to the left as he fell in the same moment that Jack pulled the trigger. The shot grazed Vlad’s upper arm, creating a painful burn where it touched his skin. He was just barely able to keep himself from clamping his left hand over the burn on instinct, settling on gripping the length of arm just below it instead. Vlad pushed himself to his knees and had just gotten one foot under himself when the blaster was leveled at his head. Jack had come up while Vlad was on the ground, and was now within point blank range. Even if this thing shared the man’s poor aim there was no way the shot would miss.

To Seem Like the Green Light (Burned Out)
Ectober week prompt: Soul Shredder
'The Crown Prince of the Infinite Realms sure is familiar with fear for someone who does not hold it within their domain. Fright Knight decides it’s time for a talk.'
(No content warnings || fic under cut!!)
-
Fright Knight, if he’s being honest, does not understand his new ward in the slightest.
As the Crown Prince of the Infinite Realms, the boy is absurdly powerful. He had to be, to have defeated Pariah Dark- a ghost so fearsome it took an entire gathering of the Ancient Ghosts to seal him the first time- and to have beaten him with only his determination and a suit far too large for him, built by his human father. He’d heard of the boy’s abilities in extent amongst his allies in the Zone: his ice, his ectoblasts, his wail. Unbreakable, unstoppable, dimension-shaking. Yes, Prince Phantom was powerful indeed.
But it’s so hard to connect the image of him to this reputation that precedes him so. Because Phantom wears a too-big crown and a too-big cape and a ring that slips off his fingers, and if he looks anything it’s this: small, and skittish.
And scared.
Fright Knight knows a lot about that.
Fear is his domain, after all; it calls to him like a siren song calls to sailors on the open ocean. The taste of it is all allure- dread like a sweet wine, terror strong and honeying- he lives beyond living for it, just as he lives beyond living to serve the Realms’ Keeper, sacred and gratifying as such a duty is. Fear is his greatest delight- but this fear is his liege’s, and it is… sour. Sour to be exposed to, sour against the reach of his senses, the boy’s extending aura. Sour, perhaps, because the boy is royalty won in combat and powerful beyond belief, but he is still a boy. Younger still as a ghost than he is as a human.
Impossibly large shoes to fill, and an overflowing well of mistakes to rectify that he hasn’t even existed long enough to have witnessed in the first place.
Fourteen. His core isn’t even a year old, he’s a child.
Fright Knight may relish in the terror of his opposition, but this boy is not his enemy, and this fear should not have to exist. And if there’s something he can do to abate it- well, that’s only his duty, as the Crown Prince’s most loyal knight.
-
It’s not often that he finds himself in the human world, but the King’s Keep is thrumming with anxiety, and lairs are bound to their keepers in a way few things are, an indicator of the state of their hosts. The moment he takes stock of the shift, Fright Knight is making his way towards the artificial portal the Prince’s human parents created, looking for the disturbance in the Zone’s atmosphere and finding it soon enough.
From there, all it takes is a few seconds of intangibility upwards, and he finds himself in the room of the Prince. The Crown Prince of the Infinite Realms, in his human form, hunched over in bed with a blanket curled around him, expression exhausted but equally sleepless.
“I sensed trouble within your Keep, Prince Phantom.” He says simply.
The boy startles slightly, as if he hadn’t even noticed Fright Knight was there. “Ah- I, uh, hey- hi? Wait, did you say trouble?”
“The Keep reflects its Keeper,” Fright Knight explains, not unkindly. “Your Keep is not in trouble; it seemed as if you were, my liege.”
“Oh,” Phantom breathes, shoulders unwinding from where they’d begun to climb towards his ears, less from a total relief and more from a weariness. As if to prove it, his shoulders do not stop once they’ve receded, drawing further and further into himself as if intending to disappear. “Oh, sorry. I’m not- I’m not in any trouble, or anything. Sorry if you thought something was going on.”
Fright Knight has not had a ward beyond Pariah for a long, long time, but even then, they were never so young- either when alive or dead. They tended to be well beyond childhood before their death (if they were ever alive at all), and their cores fully formed for decades, centuries prior to taking the mantle. Not for the first time, he wonders how it can possibly be seen reasonable, fair to push a responsibility meant for immortals who have tasted that immortality on a child who hasn’t even had his first death day.
But Fright Knight doesn’t control what’s fair, and he doesn’t control how the Keep chooses its holder. He can only control what he does in this moment. “But there is something going on. You’re afraid.”
Whatever thoughts had been turning over behind Phantom’s expression pause at the statement, face all at once becoming bewildered, overwhelmed with the unexpected. He looks like someone with a weapon pointed between their eyes; a realisation, and a cautiousness trying not to reveal a dread.
“Right, yeah, you sense that stuff- you’re the Fright Knight- how did I forget? I’m sorry, I didn’t even think about that; I’ll be better about it! I swear you won’t have to deal with this or anything, it was just…”
Oh. He looks like someone with a weapon pointed between their eyes because he thinks Fright Knight is going to draw his. He acted wildly and without a thought when he was freed by the boy some months ago, seeking his Soul Shredder, and likely cemented no assuring reputation when fighting under Pariah. He is not a spirit that tends to dwell on his regrets, but privately, he winces at the reminder. There are very few ways to apologise for such a dismal first encounter in any meaningful fashion; there may be very little point in apologising at all, at least not in this moment.
Instead, he simply lowers himself to the ground, feet meeting carpet from where they’d previously been floating. “I am a spirit who thrives upon fear, and upon summoning it within my enemies, but I am also a spirit who thrives upon the prosperity of my ward. You are in a place of rest, in your own domain, and you have the power to fell any who may cross you, and yet, it is not prosperous. This requires intervention, but it is not punishable.”
Phantom’s eyes turn downwards to avoid his gaze. “You’ll think it’s stupid.”
“Fear is fear; it cannot be stupid.”
A moment passes before the boy’s reservations draw back, and he attempts to explain.
“I keep getting these nightmares. I think it’s just ‘cause I’ve been stressed recently; I always used to get nightmares when I was stressed as a kid. But I keep getting these nightmares of just- I dunno, everything. Some ghost beating me into the ground and hurting the people in Amity; some ghost beating me into the ground and hurting the people in the Zone; being a monster, being a bad ruler, being a bad son. I wanna tell my parents about being half ghosts but they still hate ghosts- and they love me so much, but I can’t really be sure if it’s safe, can I? It feels like everything’s just wrong lately and- and I’m scared!”
It had started subdued enough, but as he carried on speaking, the boy’s voice progresses from a mumble to a cry, ending with tears reflecting off the glow from Fright Knight’s figure.
And Fright Knight is intimately familiar with fear, but he’s far too used to being the cause; he doesn’t know how to soothe it, is unused to wanting to. Slowly, making sure to leave enough time between steps that the Prince has the opportunity to tell him to recede, he makes his way towards the boy’s bed, and sits down at the edge. Slower, slower still, a cold hand makes its way to the boy’s back, motionless but steady once it’s taken its place.
He waits until Phantom has calmed enough that the trembling abates even if the tears haven’t quite finished, and then speaks. “I am a spirit of fear,” He starts quietly. “And I have seen every manner of being afraid, regardless of how strong. Most much older than you, many more imposing- none of them, none of these beings, have I seen able to face the nightmares of your reality unshaken. You are afraid; I believe every time I have met you, you have been afraid- but you have never faltered for it. You are young, and you may be terrified, but there is something about that that perhaps makes you braver.”
“And you have friends. You have your human loved ones here, and your allies within the Realms- and if being a good knight to you means being a friend, then I am your friend as well. You are not alone, Prince Phantom, and I don’t believe you ever will be.”
There is a moment of silence thicker than the blizzards of the Far Frozen, and eventually, Phantom leans to his side, looks him in the face. The fear is not gone (Fright Knight wonders idly if it ever will be, and figures not), but it’s calmer, now. More willing to settle in lieu of raging against any other emotion.
“Thanks, Fright Knight.”
“It is my duty, Prince Phantom.”
His eyes flicker with some kind of amusement. “Can you call me Danny, though? Prince Phantom’s still kind of weird.”
“…Very well, Prince Danny.”
Fright Knight is unsure whether he’s ever made another being smile before, but looking at the child grinning snidely at him between eyes rimmed red-green from past tears, he thinks he could tolerate doing it again.

I have a DP au idea that gives Danny an honorary uncle.
During his mid teen just as summer break ended, Jack Fenton got a job as a employee in a general store (built in front of a haunted graveyard) with another teen (let's call him Dave Wilson) to earn money for college(Jack don't know where to go), while I don't know if Jack knows ghost exists at the time or not, Dave is a normal teen in this job to earn enough money to buy a cool car. While they are on their first night weekend shift, spooky things happen to both teenagers as things are floating and thrown at them and after getting away and becoming very sure that floating thing is real, decide to find a reason for that as they want to keep their job ( also Jack wants to study about that experience and learn about ghosts) learn how to sense ghost (Jack made a ghost radio with a compass taped to it, and Dave just got thing like salt chalk to draw circle to trap ghost (and it is easy to clean) and learn some minor magic to 'talk' with ghost about why they haunting the stores, and after everything been taken care of (turn out the graveyard having trouble with a demon, so Jack and Dave destroys the demon with a ectoblaster prototype and putting a cross (while reciting the bible in Latin (this event take place near summer break)) in the chest) Jack trusted Dave enough to consider him as his brother even while mile away in college with his friends ( Maddie and Vlad).
Jack didn't see Dave again until he noticed Dave in a grave yard in Amity Park as a groundskeeper. Jack are very excited to get his family to meet Dave so much that he introduced Dave as his honorary brother and uncle to his kids.
Dave is having a chill life in Amity Park until ghosts appeared a lot and having his life becoming weirder then usual like learning that his honorary nephew is a half ghost and the cause of the ghost portal opening ( Dave while understanding that Jack wants to know about ghosts, don't understand why build a ghost portal), and having to fight a ghost who look like a vampire for the honor to be Danny uncle.
More info for Dave Wilson.
He always carries a shovel as an emergency hitting weapon, some cross and bible, salt, iron, salt chalk (easy to clean), and a magic necklace that make him immune to possession.
The minor magic he knows is enchanting a weapon ( for example a shovel) to hit a ghost even while intangible, and making a drink taste better.
To help the drawer to imagine him he has a full beard and wears a groundskeeper suit even while meeting people with a cap. He is also below average height and thin to contrast Jack being huge and big.

If u could redesign Valerie Gray, what would u do and why?
Tumblr media
MAKE👏 HER👏 BIG👏
I'm talking mid-size body weight where she has muscle and fat
I was looking at her original design, and you can tell she has a bigger body type than most of the on-model body types of the main girls in the show (Paulina, Sam, Star, Jazz, etc.)
In her old and new suit you can tell her body looks different. Either it was made for a different character or the design was changed so people wouldn't know it was her.
I also noticed that if you looked at the skin tones of some of the characters, they're very neutral or grey rounding, especially in characters like Tucker and Valerie, their skin tones are very monotone and muted, (either made for the art style of the show or something else I can not think of right now).
I also gave her shorter hair so when she changes in and out of her suit she doesn't have to deal with all that hair in the way, and it makes it easier to put away when needing to be quick enough to get into a fight with a ghost.
I also did take into account her potential for interacting with other ghosts. I didn't take Vlad into account because he was the reason she got the suit and equipment in the first place.
Tumblr media
Skulker could try and convince Valerie to join him in the hunt against Danny, but she'd probably end up pointing and ectoblaster in his face and he'd fly away. But they would both get what they want in getting a) revenge against Danny, and b) finally capture him
Walker would try to have his own way and tell her what to do, but she'd be like "no, I'm not doing that, that's stupid", and plus since he's a ghost she'd be skeptical and a little suspicious of his intentions as a ghost cop. If they did work together though they would a) get what they both want, and b) capture the ghost boy, or Danny in this case.
NOW WITH TECHNUS-
Tumblr media
I would have liked for this interaction between the two to progressed, but alas, the show creators had a different plan.
As my good friend @/grimgrinningghoul said, "Free daughter" in a post they made about Technus working with Valerie, he could help her as a guide to making the most highest quality and tech to her suit, weapons, systems, etc- you name it.
In the process I think Valerie would most likely say "ha, you're a ghost, I'm not getting attached to you!"
And then cut to her being seriously injured and showing up at Technus's doorstep like, "Hey man, Imma need a few upgrades, and a first aid kit."
That's all I have but you can leave it up to your own interpretations of Valerie and how you would redesign her :)

Guys that bind
1500 words
Summary: Johnny fixes Danny’s binder.
There hadn’t been any ghost attacks in a couple days, and usually that would be amazing. A chance to hang out with his friends, or get some extra sleep, or even work on schoolwork. But it was winter break. There was no schoolwork to do, he already had plenty of time to sleep, his parents were constantly fighting, and with Tucker visiting his grandparents for a couple days and Sam spending the break in Portugal of all places, there was absolutely nothing to do except aimlessly float around town.
So of course when Danny’s ghost sense went off, he was happy, excited even, to have to find out what caused it. Luckily, he didn’t have to search long.
“Yo kid!” A snowball hit him square in the face. He wiped it off and looked around for the source before Johnny appeared from thin air right in front of him. “Up for a spar?”
“Sure.” He chirped before taking a closer look at Johnny. The guy looked like crap, his glow was dimmed a bit and there were slight bags under his eyes. “Dude, you don’t look too good. Whappened? Kitty break up with you again?”
Johnny charged up an ectoblast and started throwing it back and forth between his hands like a bouncy ball. “Naw, I think I forgot something important. Maybe an anniversary?” He tossed the blast at Danny who dodged and turned invisible before flying forward and throwing a punch at Johnny’s face. “Not the first date, or the first kiss, or our deathday.” He dodged the punch and kicked upwards, hitting Danny in the stomach, shocking him into turning visible.
“Birthday?” Danny asked, clutching his stomach and dropping a bit to shoot an ecto blast at Johnny from underneath.
“Last month.” He answered, shooting a blast from a finger gun at the blast Danny had made, knocking it off course, then dropping to try to bodyslam Danny.
Danny zoomed out of the way, and threw a blast at Johnny that he wasn’t quick enough to avoid. “Didn’t people used to do this whole big thing with a ring when they asked someone to be their partner? Could it be that?”
Johnny flew up and tried to punch the kid, but Danny turned intangible just in time for the fist to sail right through his head. “Fuck, that’s probably it. Date?”
Danny grabbed the fist and flung Johnny towards the ground. “It’s the seventeenth.”
Johnny shot up, barely catching himself before he hit the ground, then accelerated before twisting around to slam into Danny with his back. “Of what?”
Danny turned intangible, letting Johnny sail right through him. “Seriously?”
Johnny stopped his ascent and turned around to throw a couple ecto blasts at Danny, who lazily floated around them to avoid getting hit. “Kid, just tell me.”
Danny tapped his chin in mock thought. “Hmmmm, judging by the weather, the decorations all around us and the literal Christmas songs being played loud enough for us to hear from all the way over here, gosh I don’t know. Maybe it’s December?”
“Fuck, I’m an idiot.” Johnny facepalmed.
“I’ll say.” Danny moved to hover on his stomach in front of Johnny and flicked him in the forehead. “Who the heck forgets what month it is?”
“Oh shut up.” Johnny grabbed him by the back of his suit, and flung him down to the ground. Danny, not expecting It, didn’t have time to stop his fall. “Oh shit, what was that?”
“What was what?” Danny asked, picking himself up off the ground and brushing dirt off of himself.
“I felt a rip.” Johnny lowered himself to the ground to look Danny over for injuries. “I didn’t seriously hurt ya there, did…” He trailed off looking shocked. “Kid? Why do you have tits?”
“I have, uh, oh.” Danny quickly crossed his arms over his chest and hunched his back to try to hide them, but it didn’t really work that well with how form fitting his jumpsuit was. “Um, costume party?”
Johnny didn’t look too convinced. “Oh yeah? What’s the costume?”
“Me? No. My clone?”
“Wait a second.” Johnny held out his hands, cutting Danny off. “Are you one of those gender swappers?”
“What?”
Johnny sighed and put his hand on Danny’s shoulder. “Now kid, it’s nothing to be ashamed of. Even I sometimes want to be a chick. The fancy dresses, the makeup, I haven’t quite figured out how to manifest boobs yet. Props to you for figuring that out in your first year though?”
“Huh?”
“I’m sure we could find some girl stuff for you, and if you ever want to change your name-“
Danny frantically waved his hands in front of himself. “Hold on, there’s been a bit of a misunderstanding here. I don’t want to be a girl.”
Johnny paused, confused. “You don’t?”
“No.”
“Then what’s with that?” He pointed towards Danny’s chest, Danny immediately crossed his arms again to try and hide it.
“I think you ripped my binder.”
“Your what?”
Danny paused for a second to think. “A binder. It’s, uh, an article of clothing, it flattens them so it looks like I don’t have them.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah.”
They trailed off into an awkward silence before a look of realization washed over Johnny’s face. “I can fix it.”
“What?”
He sat down on the floor and grabbed a little box out of one of his coat pockets, reaching his other hand out towards Danny. “Here, hand it over.”
Danny turned his hand intangible and grabbed the binder through his jumpsuit and inspected it for a few seconds, looking over the damage, before hesitantly tossing it over to Johnny. Johnny opened the box and pulled out a needle and a spool of white thread. He fed the thread through the needle and pulled, measuring the length with his arm and cutting the thread from the spool with his teeth before separating the two ends to let them untwist themselves, and tying them together. “You’re really fucking lucky it only ripped at the seam.”
“What’s that mean?” Danny lowered himself down to hover in a sitting position just above ground.
“It means I’m just replacing stitches instead of adding new ones. There’s already a seam allowance here. There wouldn’t be a seam allowance if the fabric itself had ripped.”
“I have no clue what any of that means.”
“I’m gonna have to teach you how to sew then, or have someone else teach ya. It’s a valuable life skill, like cooking or cleaning or first aid.”
“I already know how to sew. Just, not fabric.”
“Sewing fabric and flesh are two different skills. Just because you know one doesn’t mean you know both.” Johnny reached the end of the rip and started to go back over the stitches he had already made.
They waited in silence for a bit while Johnny continued sewing the binder and Danny flicked rocks on the ground before Danny thought of another conversation starter. “So what did you mean back there?”
“About what?”
“Manifesting boobs?”
Johnny paused in his sewing for a bit to think. “Oh yeah, it’s a type of body manipulation, like how you can make your limbs and shit go all stretch armstrong. You can do that, right?”
“Yeah?”
“Alright, so with a bit of practice, you’ll be able to like, change your appearance for long periods of time. Like, you’re tricking your body into believing that that’s its natural state. I’m not that good at it, I’m still figuring out how to stretch myself, but if you ask around I’m sure someone would be able to help you out.” Johnny tied off the end of the string with the beginning before biting off the excess thread with the needle attached.
“That should probably hold pretty well, I mean, I did use close stitches and go around twice, so it shouldn’t break again anytime soon. But are you sure you should be fighting in this thing kid? Most of this fabric doesn’t seem too stretchy.” He held out the binder in front of him, making a show of trying, and failing to stretch it before tossing it over to Danny, hitting him in the face with it.
“Gee, thanks. Suddenly worried for my safety huh?” Danny snarked as he grabbed the binder from his face.
“Yeah, I mean, you are part human right? Or have I been misunderstanding this whole-” He gestured towards Danny. “Situation?”
“Yeah, but I’m still a ghost, so I don’t need to breathe and whatever damage it causes will just fix itself in like, an hour. You really don’t have to worry about it, I’ll be fine.”
Johnny looked at him skeptically before relenting. “If you say so. Shit, anniversary! Gotta get kitty something. You wouldn’t happen to know-”
Danny pointed down the street. “Three blocks that way, on your left, candy store. Turn right and two more blocks, toystore. They sell plushies.”
“Thanks, kid. And be careful!”Johnny yelled as he ran off.
“I’ll try.”

Cain and Abel Wept 7/?
Prev | Next
This a Fenton Family-oriented chapter with a bit of background. I hope it came out fine.
Danny dodged the big shadows sent his way. Another day, another challenge for the throne. Except for this time, it was an Ancient Danny didn’t know. She was a being made of pure shadows and darkness.
And she had just proclaimed in front of Amity Park, including the GIW, that Danny was the fucking Ghost King. That will be a joy to deal with later.
Danny needed to put a stop to this. The being had already destroyed infrastructure and caused too many injuries. Danny didn’t want any deaths on his hands.
His parents were following their fight with the GAV, too afraid of hitting him to shoot any ectoblasters. The GIW had no such problems. Danny ended up dodging shadows, GIW blasters, and the random attack from a townsperson trying to be helpful.
“Have to get away from everyone,” Danny muttered to himself.
He flew to the empty park and duked it out with the Ancient Shadow. If it weren’t for his intangibility, Danny would have a shit ton of bruises instead of the few he did.
It was going badly when it took a turn for the worse. The Shadow turned six stories tall and somehow, impossibly, got stronger. Danny was at the end of his rope. He could feel his strength waning. Already, a white ring had appeared around his waist three separate times. Even though he didn’t need to breathe in his ghost form, he could still feel his lungs burning. Danny was going to lose, and a chaotic shadow would rule the Infinite Realms.
No, he wouldn’t allow it; he couldn’t!
Danny felt power growing deep in his chest and raring to be let out. His ghostly wail came out of him.
The Ancient didn’t stand a chance.
Danny used the Fenton Thermos to suck her up and let himself float down slowly. He was too tired to notice Agent K hiding behind a tree; he was too tired to keep his ghost form.
Danny sure felt the ectoblast hitting him.
Danny let go of the thermos and held on to his now bleeding shoulder.
“Freeze, ghost scum, under the Anti-Ecto Act Laws, you are to be detained and taken by GIW to be neutralized.”
Danny gritted his teeth and turned to run (he was too tired to transform) straight into Damian’s sword.
Danny woke up hyperventilating. He touched his chest. He was trying to stop the bleeding and remove the sword he felt protruding from it. It was there, the cold steel chilling him to his very core.
(Not like his ice, though, not the silly little tickles of frost; no, it was a straight-up chill that froze to the bone.)
It took a while for Danny to notice the strong arms around him as they rocked him. Then he heard the words.
“It’s okay, Dann-o, we got. We won’t let anything happen to you.”
Through blurry tears, Danny saw his dad’s large figure holding him tight. His mom was on the bed scratching his head, and his older sister was holding his hand up to her chest and taking deep breaths. Danny soon mimicked her.
“I’m sorry,” he eventually whispered through a hoarse throat, “did I wake you?”
“Oh, sweetie, don’t ever apologize about something like this,” his mom said.
Danny was about to apologize again but bit his tongue; he didn’t want his family to feel guilty about him feeling guilty. It was a cycle.
Danny sighed and decided to be selfish for once. He sank deeper into his family’s embrace.
____
Maddie tried to stitch Danny’s injuries as her husband drove away from their smoldering home.
The Fentons had contingency plans in case something like this happened; she just hoped it would never come to it. Thankfully, Jazz was home from university that weekend and could escape with them.
She shuddered to think about what the GIW would do if they had gotten to her while separated.
Danny sobbed in her arms.
“I’m sorry. This is all my fault. I’m so sorry.”
Maddie ignored Danny’s (unwarranted) apologies. She had to focus on his injuries first. Then she could comfort him emotionally.
“Sharp turn,” Jack called out, giving her enough time to put away the needle before he made a crazy move to avoid a shot from the pursuing white vans.
Fuck. Maddie wanted to tear them apart for even hurting her baby.
Danny stared at her with big, fearful eyes, and she had a flashback of a ten-year-old Danny with the same look as they first brought him home. She had promised to protect him; instead, she had gotten killed. Now, he was being chased by a shadowy government organization.
“I’m sorry,” was repeated over and over again from her baby’s mouth. It should’ve been her saying those words.
____
Danny finally cried himself to sleep in his father’s arms; Maddie continued scratching his head. She never wanted to let her small family go. Now, she feared Bruce Wayne, Batman, would try to take her baby away. If not him, then the GIW. If not them, then Danny’s responsibilities, and if not those, then…To say Maddie had separation anxiety would’ve been an understatement.
So, for the time being, she put away all those fears and stayed in bed with her family as they held their youngest.
____
Jazz used the encrypted laptop and smartphone that Tucker and Technus had programmed. Code Blackout had been implemented. Before the GIW had blown up Fenton Works, Tucker had downloaded a remote virus into all of their techs so they would be unsalvageable. Danny had let the being through the portal before it had been shut forever.
Now, they were in a random, run-down motel.
Danny fiddled with a bracelet hiding his ectosignature, looking out into the distance.
Jazz knew better than to say anything, but she did put her arms around his shoulder before giving him a quick kiss on his head.
They already had gotten in contact with Vlad.
After Danny’s secret was spilled, it didn’t take long for his parents to put together who and what Vlad was. They had made a deal; Vlad left them alone, and Maddie and Jack wouldn’t hunt him down for what they put Danny through.
(That truce almost went out the window when they found out about Dani. To say her parents were murderous would’ve been an understatement)
Now that they were on the run, they needed all the help they could get.
Vlad had set them up with a contact that could get them to Europe, where the Anti-Ecto Acts didn’t exist. They just had to get to New York by the end of the month without being caught.
Easy.
Thankfully, both Vlad and Sam had deposited enough money for them to survive in an untraceable account.
Now all they had to do was wait and escape.
____
Jack had always believed in ghosts.
He had believed in them even when he was called a whack job. And when he found Maddie, well, he wasn’t alone anymore.
Jack had never really believed in God, but as he held his small family, he prayed to whatever higher being would hear him that he would be enough to protect his family.

WELCOME TO…
random shit that most of this fandom collectively deluded into being canon, regardless of if it a) wasn’t explicitly stated in the show, b) contradicts actual lore, or c) was just straight up made up with no real basis! Also half of the bullet points end in rants; there are no words to describe this phenomenon but I’m a fanfic writer so that sure as hell didn’t stop me from trying
Ghost cores—not only the different types but also just their existence in general apparently—was pretty much entirely invented by the fandom. Like bro that’s the entire basis of ghost biology, how tf were we supposed to believe it worked in the show??
To expand on that, ghost biology.
Someone just decided Danny has freckles and that they glow in ghost form and we were all like. yeah.
Wesley Weston’s entire character. Nuff said.
Jack and/or Maddie always seemed to have grown up on a farm? Although I suppose with Maddie’s sister that could maybe be considered an educated guess
All the townsfolk refer to Danny’s ghost form as just ‘Phantom’ - oh wait, no they don’t.
Valerie’s alter ego is called the ‘Red Huntress’ - oh wait, no it’s not.
That one’s especially funny cause originally this list just included “Phantom calls Valerie ‘Red’” but then I learned the whole title was fanon and now I question everything I’ve ever thought beknownst to me.
Amity Park is a small town (not according to the background shots in the actual show).
I don’t remember how much of ghostly obsessions/Danny’s specifically was pulled out of the fandom’s ass but I imagine a fair amount of it considering the show wasn’t big on world building.
Phantom’s voice is echoey and/or staticky.
Danny smells like ozone and possibly citrus?
This one might just have to do with number psychology, but everyone seems to agree Phantom is a “level 7” on all of the arbitrary ghost rating systems invented by the Fentons?? Which were also made up tbf cause the Fentons never even invented that.
Danny bleeds both blood and ectoplasm, usually dependent on form, has a low heart rate and body temperature in human form, and possibly fangs. Aside from the latter these are mostly just logical inferences but it felt like they belonged here anyway.
Blob ghosts maybe?? I only think they might’ve been made up because I couldn’t find a proper photo reference of them one time and like I said, I question everything now. Maybe Jazz was never even real and the fandom just made her up so Danny could have one tiny thread of stability to support the massive load of trauma that we also dumped on him. Who the hell knows anymore, this fandom was the original Goncharov.
Accident with a capital A.
As far as I can tell, ectoblasts aren’t actually referred to as such. Admittedly I didn’t rewatch the whole show just to confirm, but according to the wiki, they’re actually called ghost rays.
Danny’s signature nervous tick is rubbing the back of his neck. I honest to god accidentally picked this habit up from reading fanfic and it is marginally embarrassing.
Danny blushes green in ghost form (admittedly this is a relatively obvious leap from “bleeds ectoplasm”.)
Ghost speak.
Danny’s middle name is James and Lancer’s first name is William (or maybe Edward.)
In all the AU’s I’ve read that involve Danny moving to Amity from somewhere else, it’s always Chicago. Admittedly I’ve only read two, but to paraphrase Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, it’s still weird that it happened twice.
Ghost ice doesn’t melt? Was that a thing? I don’t think so(?) This fandom is so bad at distinguishing canon from fanon and that does not exclude me, I haven’t seen the show in three years.
What else do y’all got? I’m sure there’s plenty more to go around

Why Am I Here
fanfiction
ao3
word count: 1150
Fright Knight has been around much longer than other ghosts. He has seen a lot. And yet this seems to be the most ridiculous thing he's been a part of. @briarlovesu
ridiculous utterly ridiculous
Fright Knight looked around him as he stood inside the throne room of the king’s castle.
“Why am I here?”
Phil stopped putting up the streamers he held in his hand as he turned to face Fright Knight. Fright Knight didn’t know he was also a party planner.
“I already told you, it’s Phantom’s eighteenth birthday today. We are throwing him a party.”
Fright Knight frowned at him. “I heard that part. But why am I here? I’m not particularly close with our king.”
“We are asking all his subjects to attend. We are making it into a royal ball of sorts, albeit a less serious one. Phantom has also never had a big birthday party before and the ghosts that frequent Amity Park seemed very keen on throwing him one.”
“This is ridiculous.” Fright Knight closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Here.” Phil handed him a stack of posters. “Hang these up.”
Fright Knight stared down at the face. Its eyes mocked him.
“Why are we hanging up these pictures of Phantom?”
“It’s an inside joke between him and his friends. Stop asking questions and help us get ready. We don’t have much time left before he gets off of school.”
Fright Knight grumbled as he walked away with the stack of papers. There were all sorts of ghosts here helping set up for the party. But this was something that was beneath him. He’d been a ghost for much longer than any of them here right now. He has seen a lot, but this? This had to take the cake for ridiculousness.
See! Right there! That cake was huge! Why did they need a cake that big?
Nevertheless, Fright Knight went about putting posters up. He himself had been around for a long time, but so had Phil. Phil was no ghost to trifle with, no matter how ridiculous he also was. What kind of ghost needed infinite pockets? He heard that there was still an Observant lost in there, that Phil could never find him. Fright Knight shuddered. No, he didn’t want to get on Phil’s bad side.
He hung up the last poster and he could hear Phil clap his hands together.
“I believe we’re done! Now we just have to shut off all the lights and wait for him to arrive.”
Fright Knight furrowed his eyebrows. “Wait, does he not know we’re doing this?”
Phil waved him off. “It’ll be fine. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go get his friends so they’re here when we surprise him.” He disappeared into thin air.
Fright Knight stood around while he waited for Phil to come back. The rest of the ghosts were hanging out together as they put on the finishing touches for the decorations and food. Fright Knight was about to join them when Phil reappeared by his side with four other people.
“Phil!” Fright Knight clutched his chest.
“Sorry, Fright Knight.”
Phantom’s friends all groaned. One clutched his stomach and sank to the ground. They all looked sort of nauseous.
“I wanted to throw a surprise party for Danny but is it even worth it anymore?” A boy in a beret whined. “I feel so sick.”
“Suck it up- you nerds.” The tall blonde one said as he gagged, also very clearly trying not to throw up.
“When is Danny supposed to get here again?” Said the gothic looking girl. Fright Knight liked her style.
“I think he-” The red haired one started but she got cut off.
“He’s coming! We can see him flying through the zone!”
The lights in the throne room dimmed and everyone got into position. No one told him where he was supposed to stand so he just went invisible where he was standing in the middle of the room.
Phantom finally flew into the throne room, landing on the floor.
“Phil? Are you here? What time is that meeting at? And why’s it so dark in here?”
“Surprise!” Everyone leapt out from their hiding places, Fright Knight just turned visible again, and the lights came back on.
Phantom jumped, startled. “Ah!”
An ectoblast flew from Phantom’s hand and hit his friend who wore the beret in the stomach. It knocked him down on his back and he groaned.
“Why is it always me? I didn’t even go in for a high five that time!”
“Tucker?” Phantom took a moment to look around then. He took in the decorations and the cake and all of the people who were gathered in the throne room. “Wait, did you guys throw me a birthday party?”
“You betcha!” Phantom’s blonde haired friend walked up to him. “Phil here is an expert party planner!”
Phantom looked at Phil. “How did he keep track of the notes and dates for this? He’s always losing everything.”
“I used the whiteboard that you hung up in my room, your majesty.”
“I knew that would come in handy!” Phantom cheered.
The other ghosts that frequented Amity Park walked up to Phantom and his friends.
“You guys are here too?”
“We wanted to do something special for you, babypop!” Ember smiled at Phantom.
“Aw!” Phantom smiled at Ember.
“We heard about how you’ve never had a big birthday party and we thought that was sad and so here we are to rectify it.”
“Aw.” Phantom’s smile turned into a frown.
“But we also haven’t gotten to hang out with you in awhile. Since you banned ghost attacks in Amity Park and all, we can’t just go and have a friendly battle and hang out.”
“Yeah. ‘Friendly battle’.” Phantom air quoted. “But I appreciate the sentiment.”
Phantom then took his time to go talk to each of the ghosts that had helped put the party together. Eventually he made his way to where Fright Knight stood alone in the middle of the throne room.
“Hi, Fright Knight. Were you also super excited to throw me a birthday party like the rest of the weirdos here?”
“No. I was forced to participate.”
Phantom looked appalled. “Why are you here if you didn’t want to be?”
Fright Knight shrugged. “Phil made me. I didn’t want to risk getting lost in his pockets like that Observant did a couple years ago.”
Phantom sighed. “Well even if you were forced to be here, I appreciate you coming. You can go if you want.”
Fright Knight nodded. “I will grab a slice of cake and be on my way.”
Once Fright Knight got his cake, he flew out and away from the castle. Such a ridiculous thing, celebrating birthdays. Most of those people there were dead! Why did they care when Phantom was born?
It must be a young ghost thing. He didn’t even remember when his birthday nor his death day was.
But maybe birthdays could be nice. He did get this slice of cake after all.

Dp x gr ? (danny phantom x generation rex)
OOOHHHH MY GOD!! YES!
Wait, wait, let my mind go wild for a second while I type while I think. For starters, I'm running off of Generator Rex logic since that is ingrained into my mind more so Danny Phantom also I love it more.
Everything is fairly standard history for the creation and attempted containment of nanites, Rex becomes more or less a child solider under the watch of Providence, and overall living through the end of the world like it's no big deal. Danny Fenton, however, starts off like a normal kid. After the Nanite Event, his parents go into working on how to figure out both an independent cure for the nanites infecting people but also holding really similar beliefs to Hunter Cain.
The Fentons think the nanites are bad and once you go EVO, you're more or less stripped of your humanity and morals AND ethics are just out of the window. No longer seeing them as human and something other than animals (probably due to mechanical influence of the nanites being literal machines), they see experimentation as totally fine. Danny and Jazz are rightfully horrified.
Things get worse when Danny is caught up in one of their experiments and he becomes heavily infected with nanites, turning him into an EVO. However, he's like Circe and Rex in that he can control his nanites. Danny gets a more ghostly appearance and can do stuff that's basically his ghostly wail and ectoblasts. He can sense EVOs nearby too. He takes on the identity of Phantom, an EVO superhero who takes down EVOs. When he doesn't have his nanites under control and goes full EVO, damn he is some eldritch abomination.
Danny fights EVOs on in his own town, protecting it the best he can. Because of his parents and their research, there is a higher concentration of nanites in Amity Park but due to Danny getting the EVOs under control, Providence doesn't view the town as an anomaly. Sometime later, Rex and Bobo are sent to check out the town and they can tell some weird spooky shit has been going on there.
The two run into Phantom during him fighting an EVO and they run in and help to contain and deactivate it's nanites. Both Rex and Danny are surprised to see someone else who has control of their nanites. This leads to Rex trying to convivence Danny to join him at Providence while this freaks Danny out and refuses to go. This kinda causes this on going cat and mouse situation over time where Rex is trying his best to help Danny and Danny is simply like "I came to get this EVO that's from my town back there, leave me alone you wannabe robot!"
Also since the episode "The Forgotten" aka where the Bug Jar was introduce, it heavily implied that Providence wasn't the only group that existed trying to get the nanite situation under control. Because of that, I am forcing the GIW to exist this universe as an equally shady but way worse ethical place that is trying to control and reduce nanite related events. Danny's parents end up working for the GIW and things probably go to shit in all honesty on Danny's end, enough to make him seek out Providence for help.
I can't think of anything else but I know because of Hunter Cain, cloning DOES exist so you can also throw in Dani existing. Vlad can also be an EVO but does more shady dealings with the Consortium.

15. Do you have any unwritten scene that you think about a lot?
I do! It's this fight scene with Vlad & Danny in this tight corridor of a train. The lights are flickering. The train is rumbling under them, they're hissing, snarling, throwing ectoblasts, duplicating, shooting ice daggers.
But it's claustrophobic, because it's in the corridor of a train. Vlad can't throw his arms all the way to his sides without hitting something. Danny has lost his aerial maneuverability- a big advantage against Vlad.
This fight isn't told from Vlad's or Danny's perspective; it's from a terrified child in one of the train's rooms, who activated the ghost shield to protect themselves, but are now stuck. They don't know if help will come, or who will win.
They only know monsters are real after all, and the flimsy train door is starting to break.

Summary: Vlad was very much starting to regret stealing the Chalice of Transmogrification.

“Dude chill! It wasn’t even that serious!”
Vlad was very much starting to regret stealing the Chalice of Transmogrification.
Daniel skittered around, waving his open claws up and down, little balls of ectoplasm building between the tips.
It was meant to be a small bit of fun—the theft itself and tricking Daniel into drinking from it—but where he’d assumed the boy might have been given an extra feature or two from whatever animal he’d most recently been thinking of, he hadn’t expected him to turn into, well, that.
He was a small hermit crab, hardly the size of his hand with a pitch black body and bumpy white shell, covered in a faint white aura. And his eyes were a burning bright green.
The boy had no means of communicating verbally and his writing with his claws had been only partially legible, or so his friends claimed.
“Would you quit snapping at me? I already said I’m sorry!”
The boy in the red beret had apparently used up the last of whatever was left of Daniel’s patience from the last several days. It was fairly amusing to watch, but his study and home were, unfortunately, quite flammable.
“I’m not,” The goth girl said. “You really do look cute like this.”
Daniel turned to aim a claw at her and she held up her hands. “Hey, I already said I won’t take you anywhere you don’t wanna go. Tucker’s the one who wanted to parade you around like a purse dog.”
“He’d be a purse crab, thank you very m—” the boy yelped, dodging away from the small blast shot at him. Vlad’s potted plant in the corner was starting to smoulder. “I won’t! I won’t! I promise I won’t, just please stop shooting at me!”
“So, can you tell me exactly why you have barged into my home?” The whole point of disguising it as one of those disgusting sodas from that fast food place he always went to was so that Daniel wouldn’t know it was Vlad’s doing.
“You’re a halfa, he’s a halfa. You’ve gotta know something about all… this.” The girl gestured to Daniel. “And you’ll help if you don’t want us to go to his parents next.”
“And please enlighten me as to why I would ever care about that.”
Sam raised an eyebrow. “So you don’t want Danny to have to owe you a favour in the future?
“And what could he possibly do for me that I couldn’t just pay someone else to do?”
“Spend quality time together as uncle and nephew? Maybe play catch or something? I don’t know.”
Vlad narrowed his eyes. “And if I say no?”
She shrugged. “I mean I wasn’t lying when I said he looked cute like this. And it’s really not a big deal if you don’t help.” Without looking she jerked her head to the side, avoiding a tiny ectoblast. “Knowing him, his powers are probably on the fritz and he’ll turn back eventually. Just thought coming here might speed things up a little.”
Vlad mulled it over. If the girl was bluffing she was rather good at it. And having Daniel in his debt certainly wouldn’t hurt.
“I suppose I couldn’t just ask him to renounce his father as my favour?” A blast stuck him square in the forehead and he yelped. “Message received,” he grumbled as he rubbed at the small burn.
“So, you’ll do it?”
He watched Daniel chase after his friend as he answered, “I’ll try to come up with something by the end of the weekend.” Vlad smirked. He already knew how to reverse the effects, but it would give him a couple more days of seeing Daniel in a perpetual state of anger. “Do try not to get stepped on before I’m done, will you?”
A barrage of ectoblasts shot at his cherry wood desk, the few plants scattered around the room, and the surrounding wooden walls. Several fires broke out all over the study as the girl grabbed Daniel and the other boy and quickly fled. A promise to return on Sunday was the last thing he heard as the door shut behind them.
Vlad was really regretting stealing that artifact.
