In the name of iconic magical girl anime, I'll punish you!

So, I'm in the middle of a Homestuck reread (bc I've been feelin' nostalgic for the good ol' Hamsteak days) and saw this awesome scene where Bro Strider and Lil Cal absolutely annihilate Jack Noir, saving everyone; and everything after that is sunshine and rainbows and anime. Bro totally would've done the whole Sailor Moon power up pose. "Moon, prism, power!" becomes "Full moon, motherfucker."

So, I had to do a scene redraw! It's been a hot minute since I've been drawing regularly (it's a long and complicated problem), so I'm a bit rusty, but I feel really proud of this drawing. I gave Bro piercings, because that's been my headcanon since forever, and I just think they look cool.

(And Bro / Dirk Strider is a trans man.)

Dirk and Bro: Gender talk 😏

I headcanon Dirk as trans-masc so I ALSO made Bro trans-masc as well but because of how their difference in how they grew up they go about their genders in different ways.

Bro lived in, I presume, the society we all know and love lol. So he grew up, probably isolating himself and abandoning most ppl he knew after processing his gender identity, THEN transitioned physically because of the society he lived in gave him a perception of what should be.

So Bro Striders gender dysphoria stems from societal expectations of what societies expectations of what a man should be. Even if he truthfully feels that it's idiotic in general, he pushes to expectations on to himself.

Dirk lives in a apocalyptic world completely isolated from society with his only contact to it being through group chat with his 3 friends and the internet. He can take from what he learns but it's his decision as to how important it is to his sense of self or in general.

Him being trans was more a presentation then anything at first, he went with something and he liked it, if I'm going into my personal thought his transness started off as a way to connect with his Bro (Alpha Dave). Then it was realized to be something that actually fit him perfectly within his identity.

Dance Dance for Sartorially for Dawn Polyswap Promptfest 2021.

Three dads with grown children that, by product of religion or homelife, didn't have much of a childhood themselves.
