@taylorswift is being crowned the Artist of the Decade at the AMAs. She is the first female to have this honor. Even with all the accolades she has earned in this decade there are still an extraordinary amount if people who are saying she doesnt deserve it, a lot of posts saying it's her white privilege, a lot touting the men that deserve it more, pretty much any aspect of her is getting picked apart and being splattered that it's not right or good enough.

Taylor Swift writes all of her own songs. When this was challenged, she gave us Speak Now. She fights for artists to own their own art. She even worked the ability for OTHER artists to get what they deserve into HER record deal. She has had the highest grossing female tour OF ALL TIME. OF ALL TIME. Reputation stadium tour DID THAT. Charts? 5 #1 hits, 25 top 10 hits, and 95 charting songs. This is just a little glimpse into her career, and STILL people think she is undeserving? Why? Because its "cool" to hate on her?

Today's kindness is simple. Give credit where credit is due. I dont care if we are talking big scale, like Taylor, or small, like at your work. There are plenty of people I dont care for. Just a fact. I'm human 🤷‍♀️ but if someone helps me, they deserve credit. If someone works hard and gets a promotion, I say congrats. I dont have to like someone to understand they have made impact. Heres some truth, I hate Elvis Presley, I have A LOT of feelings regarding how he came to fame, theft of songs, and the like. He was the Artist of the Decade for the 1950s. He truly was a phenomenon and he did change the music world. I can acknowledge that without liking him and/or his music. I don't have to like the girl from marketing because she rubs me the wrong way, but I can also realize that she did a great job doing promotion and tell her that. I'm not sure when it was decided that people's hard work only mattered if you personally liked them. That's garbage and we all know it. It doesn't matter if you like me or if you think that I am a loser, if I work hard, if I accomplish something, if I put my effort into something, it deserves to be acknowledged. EVERYONE DESERVES TO BE ACKNOWLEDGED FOR THEIR WORK REGARDLESS OF WHETHER OR NOT YOU LIKE THEM. I dont have to be a huge fan of Rihanna to see that what she has created with Fenty beauty is ground breaking. Its easier to see this on a celebrity scale, but I challenge you to apply it in your life too. We all have sandpaper people, ones we dont like, but acknowledging someone's time and effort isnt a popularity contest. It is a compassionate and lovely thing to do. We all should be as quick to acknowledge hard work and effort as we are to tear someone down. I guess "treat others the way you want to be treated" really is the golden rule. You are loved.
