an arcade date with shotaro! i think this suits him very much. i knew that he was totally going to bring you to the dance stage to show off his dancing skills. he would probably catch the attention of people around him, but he didn't care; as long as your eyes are on him, he'll continue <3 the others were astounded by him! like, who doesn't?? crazy.. and you'll be his proudest gf ever. then he would drag you to the hockey ice or basketball (totally not by force) and teach you how to play it (if you dk) after that, he'll wrap up the day by taking some pictures at the photobooth, will prettily decorate it together with you!

picnic dates are so him. he will prepare all the foods and set up the place! he felt like falling in love with you all over again after seeing you dressed up, and he'll think he's the luckiest man ever by having you as his gf. he will even learn how to cook your favorite dishes :( (you see him in the riize's contents on yt?? he can cook cook) not a particularly good chef, but he is determined on everything about this date!! making sure it'll be the perfect date you've ever had in your life. feeding you while having love in his eyes is true true. half of him is anxious, wondering if you like it or not. when you say it's good, he'll be letting out a relief sigh LOUDLY, as if the world will end if you don't like it.

aquarium dates!! wohoo we all have been waiting for this >_< hear me.. so, wonbin + aquarium dates = literally perfection. he watches you from by his side, you were looking at the fish swimming around you. he just nodded along with you when you told him facts about fish when he had zero knowledge about any creatures living in the water. the smile on his face stayed from the moment you both stepped inside the aquarium until the end of the day. he will buy you a matching keychain (totally not an idea from wifty) and have it hanging on his bag. take lots of pictures with you!! his wallpaper? changed to the pic of you pointing at the stingray. holding your hands all the time and will not, ever, let go. even when you said you needed to use the bathroom.

romantic dinner at home!! he is the most gentle person i've ever seen (bring my boy back! he did nothing wrong) he has the house all set up. the candle, the flower path for you to make your way straight to the table after the long day you had. he'll be embracing you with warm hugs. then he'll kiss your forehead and lead you slowly to the table. you don't care if he bought the food from delivery! he has already prepared everything for you using all his efforts and ideas. he will pull your chair like a gentlemen himself. then he takes a seat in front of you (tripped over his own chair, because he fell for you lol) at the end of the day, he will massage you and prepare your bath.. he is so sweet!! drying your hair after the shower and will carry you in his arm to the bed.

a movie date with sohee is the highlight!! you don't get him like i do.. study your favorite genre of movie, actors that you like, and types of cartoons that you watched. he had all your favorite snacks prepared.. like oh my god how much do you love him for this.. he will also prepare the fluffiest and most comfortable blanket you have ever felt in your life. cuddling session is all he can think of all the time.. boy just wants to cuddle you and 100% will not focus on the movie playing, when he has his arms all wrapped around you (even if it's his favorite movie) play with your hands, tracing some sweet words like "i love y/n" on your hands. he'll be the one who slept first, and i can imagine him snoring mimimi kind of thing.

Look, if you don't like Mean Girls (2024) then that's fine, no one is holding you at gunpoint. However, the constant hate is seriously getting tiring. (TW For Body shaming, Eating Disorders For Point 2 Part A, Point 4 and the TLDR)

1) The people who were groaning like Minecraft villagers in the cinema every time they would sing confused me. It was stated that it is a musical movie and it is based on the musical. Do y'all not look at what you're going to watch before you watch it? That's not the fault of the creators, that's your fault.

2) Some of y'all need to leave Reneé Rapp ALONE.

2A - The body shaming that she experienced when the trailers were released was seriously disgusting. Let's keep two things in mind when it comes to this topic:

• Reneé has openly said that when playing Regina for the musical, The costume designers would change the sizing of her clothing without her knowing, and she was constantly body shamed. This led to her developing an eating disorder.

• The body standards back in the '00s were unrealistic and toxic. Rachel McAdams, from what I can see, is a naturally skinny person who probably doesn't put on weight as easily as other people. Now, if she was to gain a bit of weight, she would indeed be called "plus sized" back then. A "plus sized" model on America's Next Top Model, for example, was a size 6... Yeah, exactly.

Beyoncé was called fat back when she was in Destiny's Child (She's spoken about it, and there are probably even articles), which is crazy because she was slim. Very slim. And remember Dreamgirls? She lost weight for that film too, using very unhealthy diets and she didn't need to.

2B - Y'all need to stop lying to yourselves and saying that Reneé isn't a good Regina George - You just prefer Rachel McAdams' Regina George. Reneé did amazingly and she has an amazing voice and one of the strongest vocal performances. Reneé has been playing Regina George for years for the musical. Rachel McAdams herself even gave Reneé her blessing, saying that she can "do no wrong" and that she can't wait to see her on screen. She even introduced Reneé on SNL. I feel like some of you are trying to live out your Mean Girl fantasies, and you need to get a slap back to reality.

2C - "Reneé Rapp needs media training". When I first saw this, I thought that she was saying some extremely offensive things. Then, what do I see? Her calling out bad service from a business... People do it all the time, why is it different when she does it? Is it because she's a celebrity? I didn't see a problem with what she said at all. Reneé also has a very random train of thought from what I can see (Terrell even points it out on his show), but it's never anything to cause outrage about. It's just things that make you go "Oh! Ok lol".

3) "Why is Janis a lesbian in the 2024 movie? Isn't the whole joke that she's Lebanese?". Let me start by saying that while the joke was implied, Regina did not that this was the reason. Regina said that Janis started to get "obsessed" with her when she started dating Kyle (And it was probably more like Regina was more focused on her boyfriend and not much on her best friend, hence Janis probably asking Regina to spend time with her and Regina finding it "weird" because she's so self-absorbed...) and so she assumed that Janis is a lesbian. If the whole Lesbian/Lebanese joke was clearer, they would've had Regina state that Janis told her that she's Lebanese (Lesbian).

Secondly, Just because Janis kisses a boy at the end of the film doesn't mean she's not a Lesbian. For starters, there are things in the Musical that are changed from the original movie, and the 2024 movie is based on the musical (and Janis doesn't speak to Kevin at all in the musical. Correct me if I'm wrong). On top of that, there are many who later on realise that the sexuality they believed themselves to be doesn't fit them. For example, Reneé was Bisexual before she realised that she was a Lesbian. She's dated guys, does that suddenly mean she's not a Lesbian? No... Now, stop complaining about Janis being a lesbian in the 2024 film 🥱

4) The complaints about lines being changed/songs being cut e.g. "I never weighed more than 115" to "That filter you use looks just like me". Reneé was bullied and body shamed during the musical, why do you think they changed that line? I've seen quite a few people like "It's not even that offensive" like hello? Let's use our brains!

I do agree with the complaints about songs being cut (e.g. Meet The Plastics) and I do agree that Tina Fey's speech about girls respecting each other should've been added due to Tina Fey herself saying she wanted to reduce the amount of slut shaming in the musical. I feel like it would've added a lot of impact (I don't think the scene was in the musical. Once again, correct me if I'm wrong).

My Thoughts On The Film:

• It was visually pleasing in my opinion, the dance numbers were really nice, beautiful cinematography and I think the cast was well chosen

• I wish that they had chosen actors that could sing - Avantika did a good job as Karen, but her singing was lacking. Same thing with Angourie Rice. People may not think it's a big deal and fair enough, but I just think that it stands out when you have her in the same film with Reneé and Auli'i.

• The soundtrack was amazing, but I wasn't a fan of some rearrangements. However, I can understand why they may have done it with Stupid In Love.

• A lot of funny jokes, and it was fun to watch

TLDR;

• You're allowed to dislike it. However, the constant comparisons to the 2004 movie and the constant complaints about minor things is starting to get tiring. Like oh no, Janis is a lesbian? YAWN, move on !

• Stop bodyshaming Reneé. Y'all are genuinely nasty individuals for doing this and you'll be the same ones preaching about Mental health and being kind to people... I hope she doesn't listen to any of you assholes.

Filmmaking? In My BL? - The Horror Influences of Dead Friend Forever

Okay off the bat I'ma say that this isn't me definitively saying these specific films or tv series are what inspired 100% DFF. I simply do not know what stuff the screenwriters were pulling from influence wise when writing the script, nor what the director was pulling from when directing the series, with 100% flawless certainty.

Rather, this is a chance to talk more about horror, from films, comics, visuals, and sub-genres and how these various mediums are what I see in the fabric of DFF's horror makeup. Also, general point, this post will be discussing minor spoilers of: Scream, DFF, and Girl from Nowhere. So like, be aware~~

This post is partially inspired by an ask from @italianpersonwithashippersheart in which the anon had mentioned Scream.

I couldn't really respond to this in detail before cause I hadn't watched the series, but I have now and I can say that the show is very thoroughly nothing at all like Scream. I'm not confident in much - other than my inability to reach the top shelf at the market - but I am confident in saying that lol

But this got me thinking, what type of horror IS DFF? I've seen a lot of folks say it's a slasher, and I both agree and disagree.

Horror as a genre is vast with sub-genres, it's probably one of the most universal and popular genres globally, and every culture has their own horror legends, cult classics, mainstays and shlock.

So that's what I'm going to talk about in this post, the slasher genre, why I don't think DFF 100% can be boxed into that sub-genre, what type of horror I think DFF is, and the influences I see in DFF's filmmaking and thematics.

So if we start anywhere, we gotta start with Scream (1996) since that's a comparison I've seen being made a lot.

The main reason I disagree in the comparisons to Scream is that Scream is considered a work of satire first and foremost. Through the power of capitalism and franchising, it's also consider a "whodunit" series.

“Scream” is the first movie of its kind to execute a satire genre within a horror movie, which is one of the most iconic and memorable elements of the film. The original movie makes many references to other well-known horror films and mocks them, while simultaneously leading the same plot points. [...] Although the following films in the “Scream” franchise do not follow as much of the same mockery of horror films, they are still considered to be satirical because of their use of mockery toward the movie franchise. “Scream 2” mocks film sequels and “Scream 3” mocks film trilogies." [sidenote one of my favorite examples of satirical meta horror is Wes Craven's New Nightmare]

DFF isn't satirizing anything in horror, it's almost entirely self-serious. Sure there's a couple of moments of hilarity - dick biting, and scooter snatchin' - but overall the show plays things pretty straight (gay sex notwithstanding). I've seen some folks claim it's subverting horror tropes, but I don't see that either (would be interested in discussing that tho cause I'm curious).

I get why people make this comparison though, Scream is a 27 yr old franchise, and probably the most relevant slasher franchise currently. The new Halloween movies were...cute but aside from the first Halloween (2018) the rest of the reboot franchise had diminishing returns; each film made less than the previous, and received lower critical scores.

However, Scream has actually grown as a franchise in the States in terms of box office draw. That said, Scream is actually not a huge earner overseas, Scream IV (2023) earned more than 60% of it's box office revenue domestically. In Thailand, according to reports, it only earned about 300,000 (compared to other international territories like Brazil where it earned around 4,600,000).

So I don't think DFF is pulling much from Scream in terms of setting, tone, or story. I do think the show most resembles Scream in directorial style, specifically in the imagery of the Killer's design and in the slow-crawl mask reveals that have happened so far.

So what is a slasher film or story?

"A slasher movie is a horror sub-genre that involves the murdering of a number of people by a psychopathic killer, typically via a knife or bladed tool (such as a scythe).

In general, the horror genre is known for its fear, violence and terror. It will typically feature a menacing villain, whether it be a monster or a supernatural evil spirit, for example." (source)

Other common but not inherent secondary characteristics of a slasher story will include: young adults as central characters, sex (typically as a means of punishment "sex gets you killed"), the killer is motivated by revenge, lots of gore and/or violent kills and a "final girl".

I point out common but not inherent because the main tenants of a slasher story is the overall body count, female protagonist and a mysterious (typically masked) killer.

For example, in Scream (96) Ghostface is motivated by revenge, however in Halloween (1978), Texas Chainsaw (1974), Prom Night (2008), You're Next (2011) and Wrong Turn (2003) the killers are not.

If there is a western horror franchise or film that the setting of DFF more closely aligns with, it's Friday the 13th (2009). Which was a sequel/reboot to the original Friday the 13th (1980) starring Tumblr's own Jared Padalecki as one of the leads (that was an interesting year as Jensen Ackles also starred in a remake of a classic 80s horror film My Blood Valentine).

In Friday (09) the bulk of the story takes place at a mansion styled cabin in the woods near Crystal Lake owned by one of the characters rich parents. Jason eventually hunts down each of the characters, killing them in various ways, and they even find his home with a shrine to his mother there. There's also like, a lot of sex and nudity in Friday (09) none of it fun or sexy as it's pretty, unfortunately, misogynistic.

Being in an isolated area, like the cabin in the woods in DFF and Friday (09) is also not a requirement within the slasher sub-genre.

Many slasher films, especially American classics during the genres 80s peak, actually take place more often in suburbia rather than in isolated locations like the woods. Which reflected real world anxieties from predominately white communities and a turn towards more conservative politics of that era in America.

"Those same well-kept neighborhoods and quiet backyards of my childhood were also the battlegrounds of the ’80s horror movie, a radical pivot in the genre’s history. The decade’s opening years were bracketed by the kidnappings of Etan Patz (which inspired the Missing Kids on a Milk Carton program) and Adam Walsh (which inspired his father John Walsh to later create the TV show "America’s Most Wanted"). Combined with the conservative turn in crime and punishment law brought on by the Reagan administration, horror appeared to turn from the supernatural curses of the decade before ("The Exorcist," "The Omen") to a homegrown product of our own sins. Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger are psychotic loons but also human beings who come not from afar but from down the street. The possibility that one of them could be lurking just beyond the sliding back door of a sleepover birthday seems too darkly delicious to pass up, a fictional killer standing in for a warning your parents and society gave you about “stranger danger,” real-life evil lurking in the dark." (source)

Isolated settings, while can be a setting in slashers are more often found in psychological horror films: The Strangers (2008), When A Stranger Calls (1979, 2006), Hush (2016). Also the Evil Dead (1981, 1987, 2013).

[The latter has it's own interesting history of wanting to be psychological body horror, to horror comedy cult classic, back to psychological body horror. Honestly if any franchise has influenced the "horror set in a cabin in the woods" it's Evil Dead, which is paid major homage to in Cabin in the Woods (2011).]

Sooooo is DFF a slasher?

Hm, for me, yes and no. Slashers require a high body count and pretty gory deaths. So far we've only had 3 deaths, only two of which were even committed by the killer themselves and not even by their own hand (ie directly).

For me, the slasher elements of DFF exist in the directorial styling of the film, meant invoke a classic slasher film but that's not where the true horror of the story exists.

I'm a big slasher fan, so I'm not trying to discount the sub-genre at all, lots of slasher films are good, and when done well, they're truly scary. But they also tend to be straight forward in design, the fear comes from the feature of being stalked by an unseeable and unstoppable force infiltrating what should be a safe space (your home, your school, your neighborhood, your camp grounds etc).

Which is why slasher films are also the most common horror sub-genre to be parodied (Scary Movie franchise) or made into horror comedies like Freaky (2020), The Final Girls (2015), Happy Death Day (2017), and Totally Killer (2023).

[sidenote slashers have this in common with the zombie sub-genre of horror as zombie films in America have also tended in recent years to be horror comedies or horror action like: Little Monsters (2019), Cooties (2014), Zombieland (2009), Pride Prejudice and Zombies (2016)]

I'd argue that DFF is much more in line with psychological horror than slasher horror. Because it is anything but straightforward and also has a strong emphasis on relationships and isolation as does most psychological horror.

Films like: It Comes At Night (2017), Us (2019), Perfect Blue (1997), A Tale of Two Sisters (2004), The Forgotten (2017), Dark Water (2002) all have similar elements in terms of tone as DFF.

The isolated setting, the allure of the mundane normality being a veneer for the violence lurking beneath the surface, the existence of the paranormal, the use of drugs to increase fear, the unsettling paranoia, and slow burn crawl towards all the characters being unteathered from themselves, the growing distrust between them and their loved ones, the plot twists and turns, the emphasis on human relationships and the horror that comes from those.

The backstory with Non is what pushed the show past slasher horror to psychological horror for me. Because Non's "downfall" as it were, feels more akin to the slow burn psych horror rooted in a lot of Japanese, Thai films/tv shows, and modern A24 style horror films.

The horror of Midsommar (2019) doesn't come from jump scares, or violence, but in slowly watching the protagonist grow more and more unteathered, mistreated, gaslit, more and more with each passing moment, slowly inducted into a horrific cult and being able to do nothing to stop her descent.

A big influence I saw in DFF was Girl from Nowhere (2018); the school setting, the crimes committed by a group of students against a singular student, class exploration, structural violence, the exploration of retribution are all topics explored in the first season of Girl from Nowhere.

Even the series trailer for GFN and the pre-release trailer for DFF are similar in production design and tone:

Titled "BFF" the two-part finale from season 01, is about a high school reunion, where a group of now established adults come back together for a party (their reunion) only to be confronted by their past via Nanno (the shows protagonist for lack of a better term).

Through Nanno we learn about the chars past misdeeds in high school - bullying, physical assault, stealing, the works - and their current crimes as adults. As more and more layers of the truth, lies, and betrayal are revealed, the friend group begins to crack, fracture and turn against each other, growing more and more paranoid and angry.

Nanno tells the group that they've also all been drugged with poison and there's only one vial of antidote left, the "friends" all horrifically murder each other in order to get the antidote. In the end, no one survives. EXCEPT, it was all a mass hallucinate and the group wakes up, remembering everything, and quietly leave one-by-one. No longer friends, no longer not-friends, everyone forever changed by the experience.

It's an unsettling ending that leaves things open ended. This group of friends were responsible for the bullying and death of Nanno (she's fine she's like immortal or something I'm pretty sure GFN was partially influenced by Tomie by Junji Ito) and they simply refused to acknowledge what they did to her, nor talk about her, eventually forgetting she existed until forced too through a traumatic retribution by Nanno herself.

DFF has a lot in common, from my perspective, with GFN in terms of tone, themes and even parts of it's story.

Nanno isn't doling out "justice" she doles out retributions, punishments, sometimes they're outright torturous. Whether the recipients "deserve" these punishments or not, is really up to the viewer. The show does a good job of showcasing a wide variety of characters who are unrepentant, sympathetic, and somewhere in between. The fears it plays upon are more slow burn, it boils the characters rather than setting them on fire like slashers do.

DFF is similar in this aspect, it boils the characters. Watching Non's story, you already know at the start it's nothing good. We know from the first flashback something bad has happened to Non, but it's not really something, it's many things - so many things - that have led to whatever tragedy the main group must pay for.

It's these compounding factors one after another that brings Non to a boil, and the same thing happens with Tan/New. The horror of DFF is more about getting under the skin, causing the characters discomfort by forcing them to confront the sins they've committed (is there anything more horrific than being seen? Especially if you ugly?).

I mentioned Junji Ito in reference to Girl from Nowhere, to say Ito has been influential on horror feels like an understatement. His series Tomie has been adapted into 7 different Japanese films, he's won 3 Eisner awards (the highest award you can win in America for comics publishing), along with a slew of awards in Japan, his series Uzumaki has been referenced in super popular anime like Jujustu Kaisen.

A big factor of Ito's work is body horror and psychological horror. His work unsettles, and is very visceral. Since Uzumaki was referenced in DFF I think rather than being influenced by specifically Uzumaki (which DFF doesn't have much in common with in regards to general story) I'd argue the show is more influenced by Ito's desire to unsettle.

Also potentially to take symbols of piety, faith and protection (the temple, the cross at the chars high school) and turn them into places of horror for the characters.

Like Ito did with the spiral motifs in Uzumaki, said Ito in an interview:

"The "spiral pattern" is not normally associated with horror fiction. Usually spiral patterns mark character’s cheeks in Japanese comedy cartoons, representing an effect of warmth. However, I thought it could be used in horror if I drew it a different way." (source)

[I am also begging y'all to check out Junji Ito's book Cat Diary it's hilarious, even more so b/c his style of art is so rooted in horror]

I think DFF is actually very Thai in it's exploration of what's unsettling and horrific to youth culture in Thailand currently. The feeling of haplessness, judgement, an inability to exert control over one's circumstances, mental health, consent, bullying, these were themes and topics explored in both seasons of GFN but also some of these were explored in The Whole Truth (2021) a Thai horror/mystery film.

There's a scene in The Whole Truth in which one of the protagonists school friends secretly films their younger sister getting undressed without her knowledge, and when caught, the classmate threatens to release the clip publicly and claim the sister is "a slut". One of the protagonists is also bullied at school - including by this disgusting classmate who they still consider "a friend" - but puts up with it in order to be in a friend group at all (this bullied char also has a physical disability which contributes to their mistreatment at school).

I think DFF is exploring a lot of these same topics but most of the characters are just gay this time around.

Okay I'm losing steam here a bit, this has gotten very long, but overall I'd argue that DFF is much more psychological horror than a slasher, in terms of it's tone, and story. Whilst invoking slasher imagery in it's directorial style.

That said it's much more in line with Thai and Japanese horror than American horror in regards to it's themes. If the series was going to be boiled down just to the basics, I'd quantify it as psychological horror mystery.

And those are my thoughts on DFF and horror, I guess lol I'm not 100% satisfied with this but god damn I'm tired this took forever lmao if y'all made it this far, bless and stay safe out there cause the ship wars are wildin out in these parts.

♡ but after a few times he lays off and lets you find the word and helps you if you need it

♡ being taken to a place where it's loud and you having to excuse yourself because it's too loud and you're getting sensory overload

♡ he follows you outside and sees you sitting on the sidewalk, hands over your ears

I'm in Control Part 6 (Steddie X Reader)

A/N: On my computer these gifs are gigantic and I am ok with that because I need a big Steddie hug right now. I'm just done being an adult. Lol. Anyway, here you ya go.

There are many, MANY aggressive feels here especially from Eddie. This isn't going to be fluffy by any means but it's heading somewhere good... I hope <3. :P.

Warnings: As previously stated, this is a bit rougher than previous ones. Got some hair pulling, Steve gets popped in the face, over stimulation. The color system is used here and someone does say "Red" but its not who you would think.

Also Eddie does interact with someone from his past and talks about some of his trauma, may be a bit triggering. I think that's it...

“I appreciate the thought, Wayne. I really do but the answer is no.”

Your eye’s gradually open to the sound of Eddie’s voice in the hallway. The three of you had had your arrangement for a little over a month now and settled into a bit of a janky routine. With your schedules there really was no such thing as normal but every weekend at least since the convention had been occupied with them at (and all over) their house.

You found yourself enjoying not just the sex but the little moments as well. One Saturday, you and Eddie tried to show Steve some cool fantasy movie but he immediately fell asleep. That following day, you took him to a comic bookstore downtown where you always found hidden gems that no other store had. It was adorable watching him make friends with some of the employees especially when he found out they played D & D. His toothy smile and fast, animated hands were a joy to behold.

Steve was a hard nut to crack with most things but he always seemed eager and open when it came to trying something he knew nothing about. You told him one day that you were really excited the movie theater was doing a back-to-back marathon of B movies that weekend so he got you both tickets since Eddie would be busy on set that night. When you two left the auditorium, he had a big smile on his face talking about the cheesy films you just witnessed.

The more time you spent with them though, the more you found yourself wanting to know more about them. They dropped little tidbits of their history here and there but never actually let you it. To be fair, they never asked you anything about your past either.

“Everything okay?”, you asked Eddie as he came back into the bedroom.

“Yeah, Sweetheart. Just my uncle calling to say hello.”

You crawled out of Steve’s embrace to sit up in their bed. “Just hello? It sounded more intense than that.”

“Nope. Nothing for you to be concerned about.” He smiled over at you as he sat down on the edge of the mattress but his tone came out more curtly than you had ever heard from him before.

“You know…you can talk to me about anything—”

“IT’S FINE, Y/N! Now mind your fucking business!”

You both stared each other down; his eyes filled with anger whereas yours was a mix of pain and slight annoyance. After climbing out of their bed, you grabbed your clothes from the floor and entered their bathroom, slamming the door behind you. You could hear Steve’s stern grumble on the other side.

“Eddie, you can’t talk to her like that. We aren’t playing right now.”

“I know. I know. I just—”

You abruptly opened the door to face them both. “Why won’t you guys talk to me about personal things?” Neither of them answered and it infuriated you.

“I feel like we are being more open with each other, right? And when we started this, you never said we couldn’t talk to each other about our past. Yet every time I ask a question or offer an ear, you BOTH shut me down.”

“We don’t talk about things like that because it doesn’t matter.” Steve’s answer startled you. You expected them to pull you back to bed and at least have a conversation about the topic.

“I feel like that’s starting to be the tag line of this relationship.” You stomp out of their room on a mission to find to your shoes, hearing them shuffle as the follow after you.

I’m in control.

“I want to know more about you guys and I feel like you should want to know more about me.”

“You don’t get to make demands, remember?” Steve’s dominate side vaguely started to pull forth.

“See, that’s where the line becomes blurred, doesn’t it? In there”, you point towards the bedroom, “you don’t tell me things. Fine. Your fucking rules. But out here, as your agent and your friend, you don’t tell me anything either.”

They glance at each other and you know before you even say anything. “Yeah, I see where the mistake was made. Bedroom… Daddy and Sir. Outside… Eddie and Steve. We never agreed to be friends.”

“Come on, Y/N. Don’t be like that.” Eddie stepped forward but before he could reach you, you stepped out of the way and out their front door.

“This is your fucking fault.” Eddie growled at Steve as they entered the agency Monday morning.

For the entire previous week, you had severely rained in your time with the boys; only answering texts and calls about work. You showed up on set for their show right when they yelled action and disappeared before they cut. When they tried to hunt you down at your office, you always seemed to be out.

Even though you never planned on coming over on the weekends, they had grown accustomed to it and when you didn’t show up, that’s when they became angry.

“How is this my fault? You’re the one that snapped at her.”

“I told you we should have talked to her about how we were starting to have feelings for her but you said we shouldn’t. I’m not going to tell someone who ends up leaving us my personal business.”

“Oh really, Munson? You won’t even tell me what your uncle called about and I’m your best fucking friend.”

“That’s because I’m pissed at you, you fucking dick!”

“Oof. Some people woke up on the wrong side of their beds today.” You walked past them towards your office, sipping casually from your takeout coffee cup.

“Where the hell were you?!”, Steve shouts.

“What do you mean, Mr. Harrington?”

“You didn’t come over this weekend.” Eddie strode in behind his friend, shutting the door behind him.

“Was I supposed to? There was nothing scheduled for you guys. Avery came down to look at places so I helped him with that and then he invited me to Fantasy. You know that new club they opened. You should check it out. There were a lot of beautiful girls there.”

Steve’s eyes narrowed at as he leaned his palms down on the top of your desk. “Is this really the game you want to play with us, little girl? Because I assure you, we always win.”

You crossed your arms leaning forward on your elbows, your face so close to his your noses almost touched. “See…the problem with you, Steve, is you think everything is a little game. Since our arrangement is just sex, I didn’t need it from either of you this weekend. Trust me, I got enough.”

“Please say that you’re lying.” Eddie’s voice shook as he bounced on his legs.

Your stoic expression faltered slightly at his tone, glancing at him before focusing back on Steve whose eyes hadn’t moved from you once.

“Go ahead. Break his heart.” His voice was so low only you could hear his taunt.

I’m in control.

“You broke mine first.”

Eddie reached for the glass decoration on your desk and threw it at the wall. You stood up from your chair, alarmed at his sudden outburst. You and Steve watched him with caution as he paced back and forth.

When he finally stopped, his eyes were vacant. “Both of you come with me.”

“Where are we—”

“Shut the fuck up, Steve! I’m in control right now. Do you understand me?!”

“Yes, Sir.” You both responded in unison. There’s more than authority in Eddie’s request and the fact that he needs you AND his friend to listen to him means it’s important so you follow his instruction.

He throws on his leather jacket, pulling the pack of cigarettes out of his pocket as he heads for Steve’s car with you two in tow.

Your eyes move from place to place around the waiting room of the penitentiary. Eddie’s arms are crossed tight around his chest as his leg jumps.

“Eddie, what are we doing here?”

He had been silent the entire one-hour car ride up here occasionally breaking the silence by rolling down his window to smoke a cigarette.

“Now, here are my rules for the moment. Neither of you say a word when we get back there.”

“Yellow.”

You understood you guys weren’t in the bedroom and you three definitely weren’t playing but you didn’t know what else to say. The fact that neither of them were telling you what was going on and it seemed Eddie was on his own personal mission terrified you a bit.

Steve took your hand in his as Eddie’s eyes met yours for a moment before looking back down to the floor. “You’re safe, Princess. I promise. I would never let anything hurt you but if you don’t want to come back there with me, I will understand. I’m nervous myself.”

“Munson party?”, the officer calls after opening the heavy door.

The metalhead stands without hesitation and walks through ready to face this alone but breathes a sigh of relief when he hears your voice offer a small thank you to the young man who held the door open for you and Steve.

He led you down a corridor into a room styled the same way you’d seen movies a million times. There were booths that were divided every which way with glass in the front so you could still see the person you were talking to. Both sides had a payphone style telephone hung on the side.

“Now obviously you can each only talk to him one at a time—”

“Oh, they’re my moral support. They won’t speak to him.”

“Okay, that being the case”, the officer turns to you and Steve. “You can both stand here behind him but that’s it, okay?” You nod as he leads Eddie to a chair in front of the glass partition.

On the other side, a young female officer brings an older man out that looks a little like Eddie but with more tattoos and harder features. He sighed as both men picked up their phones.

“Hey Edward.”

“Dad.”

“Jesus.” You looked up at Steve whose eyes were wide with surprise. His hand gripped yours tighter as if he let go, he would float away.

“So, uh, how have you been?”

“Look, why don’t we skip the pleasantries and you tell me what you want. Wayne said you needed help.”

Eddie’s dad scoffed as he clenched his fists trying to control his temper. “Wayne was always a good man. I never got to thank him for—”

“I’m leaving.”

“Ok! Okay. Sit! God damn! Just like your mom with that smartass mouth.” He waved at the officer behind him assuring her he was calm. Steve on the other hand lurched forward before you quickly pulled him back.

“He’s ok, Steve. He’s ok.” Your free hand wrapped around his arm as you tugged him closer.

“I have a bail hearing coming up. My new lawyer up here thought it would be a good idea if you spoke on my behalf. Tell them that you forgive me or some shit.”

“Are you serious?”, Eddie cackled. “That’s how you ask for my help? After everything you did and after all these years? You want me to lie for you.”

“Your uncle wouldn’t let me contact you when you were a kid or else, I would have fucking asked sooner.”

“Yeah, well, it’s been a while since I’ve been eighteen so…”

“Yet it still took you till you were 21 to graduate high school. Oh yeah, kid. I still have friends in Hawkins.”

“Good. Maybe one of them can fly up here and stand up for you.”

“Look at Mr. high and mighty over here. What makes you think you’re so much better than me anyway?!”

Eddie hung up the phone as he turned away. His dad was shouting after him as his son brushed past you both and out the door.

Eddie immediately lit a fresh cigarette as soon as he was outside the jail. You didn’t wait for him to say anything, wrapping your arms around his waist as he leaned against Steve’s car.

“Are you okay, man?” His friend nods as his arms remain at his sides. “Why didn’t you say anything?”

“Like I said, Harrington… I was fucking pissed at you. Plus, I wasn’t even going to come down here.”

“What made you change your mind?”

You felt his index finger tap your head. “Her.”

He watched you as you pulled away from him, trying to make sense of what he was saying.

“You didn’t have to do this, Eddie.”

“I know I didn’t have to but… I wanted to tell you. I want to tell you more about my fucked up past but I don’t want to open up to someone who’s going to fucking leave. There’s no point.” He gestures towards the jail. “My parents were the first people to hurt me and abandon me. I wanted to show you the shit I dealt with.”

“Where’s your mom?”

Eddie inhales the butt of the cigarette before puffing out a cloud of smoke. “I don’t know. She left me with my uncle after my dad went in. He was originally in a different prison closer to Indiana but Wayne called to tell me they moved him up here and that he needed something from me.”

“I imagine there are many answers to my next question but why are you angry with Steve?”

“Because…” they quickly make eye contact before Eddie looks back down at his shoes. “I thought we should talk to you about us having feelings for you but Steve said that would be a bad idea. If it’s just sex, you’ll leave at some point. They always do.”

You didn’t know what to say. Your arms wrapped around your body as you turned away from them trying to gather your thoughts. Steve chuckled behind you.

“Told you, Eds.”

You turned on him, fury emanating from you. “Fuck you, Steve Harrington! You try to act like your so hard. Like you’re some tough badass who doesn’t care about anyone or anything! Mister call me Daddy in bed but can’t step up anywhere else! He has every right to be mad at you! You should have talked to me!”

The sound of Eddie’s boots squashing his cigarette reminded you he was there. “And you, Mr. Munson—”

“Don’t come at me, sweetheart. I’m not in the fucking mood.”

“Exactly.” You charged up to him until your chest bumped his. “You both may work together, live together, and fuck together but you are your own person, Eddie! If you wanted to tell me how you felt then you should have! You don’t need him to dictate you! You’re dominate to remember? Or is the Sir just for show?!”

“Ugh! I’m so fucking angry with you both. If I wanted pussys I would have dated a woman or stayed back home.”

Eddie’s arm shot out as his hand grabbed your hair and pulled you closer to them. Steve opened the backseat, holding the door open for his friend to shove you in and climb in with you.

As the car started and began its journey back home, you push against Eddie, hitting him with your small fists before he gripped your wrist with his large hands. He spun you around so you were both sitting horizontally with his back against the door and your back on his chest. His left leg swung on top of both your legs holding them still as you continued to wiggle.

“You know the safe word. You know how to use it. No one is going to ask you any questions tonight, Princess. If you want this to end you just say that word and we’ll stop. The only thing I want to hear is ‘Yes Sir’ to what I just said. Do you understand me?”

“Yes, Sir.”

He shuffled his grip so both your wrists were being restrained in one of his hands as the other took hold of your throat, squeezing it between his fingers.

“You think the titles are just for show? That Steve and I are pussys, is that right?” You coughed, trying to catch your breath as he let you go. “Answer me. Honestly.”

“Sirs don’t need Daddy’s permission to get something done.” You heard Steve angrily sigh in the front seat as his fingers tightened around the steering wheel.

Eddie reached down to unbutton your jeans, shoving his hand under the waistband of your panties before running a stripe with his fingers through your folds.

“Little one talks a big game but she’s fucking dripping right now.”

“Don’t get cocky. It’s not for you. Replace you with anyone else and it would be the same ahhh!” Eddie cut you off by abruptly pushing two of his fingers into your entrance.

“Stop. Speaking. Jesus, Steve. Did you hear her? She’s a fucking slut now. I guess whoever she was fucking this past weekend when she didn’t need us just blew her mind and changed her perspective.”

His pace was ruthless as he pumped his digits into you.

“Oh and don’t worry. You don’t have to ask to cum this time. I don’t want to hear your voice that much. I heard enough in the parking lot.”

Your back pushed against him as you felt yourself quickly tumble of the edge as you came. You expect him to slow down after he rode you through your high but he didn’t. He kept up the exact same rhythm not even allowing you a moment to catch your breath.

“Eddie, please.”

He removed his leg from yours and wrestled with your body to tug your jeans down. Shifting you back in your original position, he utilized his right leg to spread your legs open as wide as he could. His hand promptly came down and smacked your pussy making you yelp.

“Who am I right now?!”

“Sir!”

Eddie shoved his fingers back inside of you resuming his original pace.

The car ride back was a little under an hour and the metalhead spent the entire ride making you cum. Steve’s backseat was a mess but neither of them cared. As soon as they got back to their house, they wasted no time throwing you over their shoulder and heading straight for the bedroom. Steve tossed you on the mattress and your hand immediately shot out in the air, not even sure where they both were.

“YELLOW!” You heard the sound of shuffling as someone sat in a chair and the other leaned against the wall. Your eyes were full of tears when you looked at them. Not tears of pain, but of frustration. You reached for a pillow and threw it across the room towards their feet.

“You should have said something.” You scolded them through gritted teeth. “I…feel…stupid.” Getting up on your knees you, you pointed your index finger at them. “I trusted you enough to agree to this but you can’t trust me enough to tell me you’re getting feelings for me?” They watched as your hands shook. “And I’M pathetic.”

Your jaw clenched as you defiantly faced them. “Green.” Neither of them moved. “I said Green. I’m ready.”

“Red.” Eddie glanced at Steve who walked over to his mini fridge in the corner and pulled out a water bottle. When he tried to hand it to you, you smacked it out of his hand.

“Why? I said green.”

He casually reached for the bottle again, but then he tried to hand it to you, you threw it across the room. “I know you said green but I’m saying red. We’re done for tonight.”

“WHY?! I can take it!”

“I don’t care if you think you can take it. That’s not the point. This has gone way past pleasure so I’m calling it. Our…ALL of our feelings are getting in the way right now and I think we should wait until we’ve talked to—”

You smacked him then. “Now you want to talk, you fucking asshole!”

You fell back on your heels and hung your head. The bed shifted as Steve sat beside you.

“Can I hold you?” Your hair bounced as you nodded and he swiftly pulled you into his arms on to his lap. “I’m sorry, baby girl. You’re right. You’re not stupid. I’M stupid. Daddy’s sorry.”

You felt yourself shrink into his chest as he held you to him.

“You’re not stupid, dude. Just…jaded like me.” Eddie sat beside him, putting his arm around his friend’s shoulder as his hand rested on your legs.

“I’m sorry, Ed. You were right to. The three of us should have talked about it together.”

“Why didn’t you?” Steve loosened his grip on you so he could see your face to answer your question. His finger poked at your shoulder.

“Agent. Client.” He flashed you a small smile. “We do think of you as friend. Always have. I really like spending time with you.”

“Me to.” Eddie grinned softly at you.

“But to push this into a romantic relationship…that’s a whole other ball field.”

“Pfft, leave it to Harrington to make a sports metaphor.”

When you laugh, they both breathe a sigh of relief.

“Can we…talk about this tomorrow? After your shoot, maybe. I’m just incredibly tired.”

“Of course, pretty girl. Do you want us to take you home?”

“Can I stay here?”

“Yeah, we’ll just go sleep in my room.” Eddie rises but stops when you whine.

“You can lay with me. I don’t mind.”

Steve stands up with you in his arms before placing you down in the middle of the bed and under the covers.

“I’ll make you deal. You drink some of this and we’ll lay with you.” He playfully tosses the water bottle in your lap.

You didn’t realize how thirsty you were until the first drop hit your lips. Eddie grinned as he took the empty bottle from your hands and they both crawled in beside you.

“Hey Eds?” He answers you with a soft hm. “I’m proud of what you did today. I know it wasn’t easy seeing your dad.” You cup one of his cheeks with your hand and tenderly kiss his lips.

As you lay back down you turn your neck to give Steve a kiss as well. His hands brush through your hair as Eddie rolls onto his side to caress your face.

Isn't a writer question but was curious; How does wenclair different from other ships you've enjoyed?

Is it solely due to having been a lifelong Wednesday Addams fan, or is it specifically the Netflix's Addams world that you find intriguing?

I ask mainly because I recall you once saying that your wenclair comics--specifically the Next Gen Au I believe--are written and made with a lot of intention in regards to dialog and the discussions had between characters.

Is this due to a greater insight into the characters or simply a mark of growth in writing comprehension?

I like to think I put as much thought in all ships I've been hyperfixated on tbh. Wenclair isn't even the one I've been obsessed with the longest. So far it's actually Trimberly, for which and I was hyperfixated with for like 3 years.

But yeah ok I get ur point lol The intensity this time feels different, I suppose.

I think it's a mix of both being a long time Wednesday Addams fan and how cute of a ship Wenclair is both in concept and the canon execution of their dynamics.

As some of you are aware, I've been a fan of The Addams for a while now. All incarnations of them are great in their own way, but one of the many reasons why the animated 2019 movie is my favorite is because it didn't give Wednesday a bland ass male love interest. I don't think the B/W series did it(because Wed was like six in that) but the 90's movies, musical, and netflix series for some reason found it necessary to give Wednesday male love interests so painfully boring and i hate it. This isn't even about making Wednesday attracted to boys. I personally headcanon her bi, as the ol' stereotype that all grumpy/angsty female characters must be lesbian isn't my cup of tea, and also because I like to think all Addamses just don't give a shit about gender when it comes to romance. I woulda been fine with her getting a boyfriend so long as they're not boring af and goddddd canon incarnations still haven't delivered. Joel was sweet but he was too much of a wimp, not even Gomez is that pathetic. Lucas' thing with Wednesday was just portrayed in such an icky way in the musical that I couldn't finish watching by the time their sexually charged duet came on, and don't even get me started on the boys Netflix gave her. I expected better of Gough and Millar...(unless the blandness was on purpose like it was with Lana Lang--)

Anyways, because of all said canon love interests, I've been desperate for Wednesday to have a love interest that is both not painfully het or boring for once. Crossover shipping with Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice the Musical was fun but was ultimately a very niche fandom. I could only draw and write for an audience of twenty or so people for so long. Parker from the animated movie would've been great, but the cop out with her mom dating Fester just made it too weird for me to be fully on board with the ship.

So when Enid Sinclair was introduced as a character I was absolutely ecstatic. On paper alone she already seemed great. She has a very distinct appearance (even if her "design" was inspired by Harlequin and it shows) that goes so well when she stands next to Wednesday, whether it's in the actual show, fan arts, or even in official merch. Her being Wednesday's complete opposite in so many ways makes her being paired with Wednesday so dang interesting too.

And I don't just mean aesthetic or personality wise. I'm talking about how one of Wednesday's struggle stems from having too much smothering love from her family as someone who gets overwhelmed too easily, and Enid's loneliness and insecurity coming from her own family's lack of love and attention where it matters most. Or how Wednesday's just girl who, deep inside worries about being an actual cruel monster like the very bigots she hates, while Enid is a supposed beast who resents herself for only being a scared little girl. Even the fact that Wednesday is an older sister to a soft-hearted younger brother while Enid is the youngest daughter to a bunch of rough-housing older brothers feels very on purpose.

Everything about Enid feels deliberate. Like she IS supposed to be paired with Wednesday, platonically or romantically. She's the best person to stand beside Wednesday as a character because they have enough differences and similarities to have interesting conflicts but also significant character growths sparked by each other. She's not bland or boring like the canon love interests because even without her attachment to Wednesday, Enid is still such a compelling character. The mere fact that she's as popular as she is despite an eight-episode series being her debut in a franchise that's been iconic to generations is already pretty amazing, and only a character as impressive deserves to smooch somebody as iconic as Wednesday Addams.

And their on screen chemistry is just *chef's kiss*

The twins are giving out Thorston sandwiches left and right they cannot be stopped, you WILL find yourself in the middle of a Thorston Sandwich at LEAST once or twice a week

Tuffnut knits sweaters for Chicken, Rooster, and ALL of the chicks

They all cuddle their dragons at night to stay warm <3

When they're all hanging out together, Hooky will flame up and they'll all sit close to him

They toast food on him all the time when they're hanging out like this

They go to carve pumpkins but they get SUPER competetive about it (idk if they realistically could get their hands on pumpkins and idk if they would even be exposed to that tradition but for the sake of this they can and they have lol)

They're all trying to carve pumpkins of their dragons

Hiccup gets super creative about it he calculates things, he's got a ruler, he's got a pencil to make markings beforehand, the whole deal

Fishlegs' is very artistic (he also makes a model meatlug out of like four pumpkins instead of just carving her into one)

The twins actively try to cut each other's fingers off while carving theirs

The twins try to fill hollow pumpkins with zippleback gas and use them like bombs lol

Which leads to them eating a lot of roasted pumpkins

Hiccup always has long sleeves but he is SO cold ALL the time, he gets a thicker tunic and some furs to keep warm

Snotlout makes fun of him for giving into the cold

Astrid does too but it's okay because she is ACTUALLY impervious to the cold

P sure that Fall in Berk comes with a mix of heavy rain and light snow so there's a lot of muddy slush all over

Berk is all decorated with candles and dragons cut out of colored papers and stuff

They have a bonfire in the center of the village that they light at night around this time of year

The twins insist on cooking for the gang using *fall flavors* which goes about as well as expected (there is SO much cinnamon) (once again idk if they have cinnamon on Berk or wtv but it's fun to imagine they do so they do)

The twins knit the LONGEST scarves for Barf and Belch

Fishlegs has a criminal amount of candles in his hut, and has made Meatlug SO many blankets and his hut is so cozy and warm

Fishlegs made them all scarves in their colors

Astrid still does her morning flights with Stormfly even though it's fucking cold she loves it

She's like no you guys you don't get it it keeps you alert

It's good for you

Snotlout absolutely gets sick trying to prove that he is unbothered by the cold and how he actually can swim in the ocean for an hour without getting so cold he has to come out

That's the twins' fault for sure

They honestly all probably get sick flying around in the sky and the clouds and stuff especially during storms and stuff bc despite what the movies and shows show you Berk is notoriously super wet and cold so

Fishlegs is the one to call everyone getting sick EVERY TIME

He also brings them all warm Yak milk with cinnamon at night time

Ooo, lol, looks like someone got their knickers twisted so hard they wrote a whole essay about how they're categorically correct about an ultimately subjective matter. That's always a winning approach.

Please do not try to "educate" me the difference between writers and executive producers in animation. I have an animation degree. I'm not a child.

I follow both Brent and Alan on Twitter and have been for like 3 years now. I have been watching their updates since the announcement of the show 2 years ago. I have pics of them celebrating finishing up the writing. Here's proof that they wrote it, including screenshots of the IMDb Brent had linked on his Twitter.

I said this is not what they consider THE sequel. Obviously it is *a* sequel. I'm saying people should not be treating it like Megamind 2 when it is a pilot for the TV show. They want a real theatrical sequel.

I think this person better put what I meant about not as many people would care this much if it wasn't on streaming:

Megamind was an arrogant little egomaniac for the entirety of the first movie. Not sure how you missed that. Roxanne appears dissatisfied with her place in life from her recording at the Metro Man Museum with Hal onward, and does her level best to become the hero her city needs because no one else is going to stand up and do it - not sure how you missed that, either, but her whole character arc is about stepping up to the plate to do good. Well done reducing her to a single career point and then discarding her. I wasn't surprised to see her frustrations with going right back to reporting. That was a headspace that made a ton of sense for her. It was set up incredibly well.

And Megamind himself says, "some days, it felt like it was just me and Minion against the world," so you might think I agree with you there - but in fact I'm going to point out the SOME days, it FELT LIKE. There is no reason to believe that he never had any other professional associates between the time he left the schoolhouse and the time we see him as an established supervillain. In fact, I can and will argue that there's room to interpret *he himself* saying he wasn't always flying solo. It's up to interpretation - but it's there.

And no, Roxanne and Megamind are not and should not be "quasi-dating" unless you want to look past the enormous Bernard lie. Which I can't say I'm surprised you did, since Roxanne doesn't matter as anything other than Reporter Romantic Interest, apparently. The end of the original implies they have *potential.*

But I'm not trying to convince you. At the end of the day, you didn't enjoy something you hoped to enjoy. You missed a few key points about the original, so the pilot of the show didn't line up with some of your expectations and it pissed you off. That's a shame. But instead of offering some grace and recognizing it for what it is - a movie designed for a younger demographic than the original, the first ounce of love Dreamworks has shown this IP since its initial release more than a decade ago, and as much story as could be crammed into 83 minutes because the people making it only had so much time within which to work, which is *honestly a fun ride* if somewhat tonally dissonant compared to what YOU were hoping for - you've decided instead to focus on what it wasn't: What You Personally Wanted. And you've decided to make your disappointment everyone else's problem instead of processing it like an adult and moving on.

I think you're boring, I think you're unkind, I think you're a whiny little bully who came onto MY POST to bitch and complain about how you're the god of what I'M allowed to enjoy. Block me, if I make you so miserable. I'm busy having fun.

Things I noticed while watching High and Low the Worst X again

I was watching High and Low The Worst X while I was on lunch break and then had more realizations and wanted to write about them lol

These are probably nothing new and someone else probably already noticed these but I wanted to make a post about them sooooo

I’ve watched the movie so many times now idk why I just realized the weight of the three scenes I’m about to talk about. But also I feel like I notice something new every time I watch the movies so I'm gonna cut myself some slack.

Amagai being the only character in the movie who genuinely doesn’t have a sense of friendship/comradery with anyone else.

The first time we see the 3 schools alliance meeting is the opening of the movie, and I remember when I first watched the movie I was like "well damn this looks like a solid ass team" only to find out later that they were in fact not really a team lol 😂 but anywaysss

Watching the movie this time I just realized what Fujin says to Amagai in the first scene in the restaurant where the 3 schools are holding their meetings.

Reiji is first to jump up and say "Let's get this brawl started," and Ghandi jumps in telling Amamgai that their troupes and weapons are ready. Shoji laughs and says that weapons are typical Kamasaka behavior which prompts them to jump at him and Fujin, Raijin, and the other Ebara guys jump straight to his defense while Shoji continues sitting. Amagai tells them to "get us more" while tossing the money bundles in their direction.

Every single fuckin character in this scene's facial expressions have me dying because the disbelief on their faces😂

Shoji looking at Amagai like he's full of shit.

Fujin, Raijin, and Ghandi are looking at him like "wtf?"

The background characters are looking at him in disbelief also like I was WHEEZING when I realized this. Back to the characters who are the main focus of this specific camera frame though, Ghandi and Fujin.

Both characters turn to Amagai with the BIGGEST look of disbelief on their faces and Fujin says "You don't trust we can do it huh?"

To which Amagai says "What's the use in trusting you guys?" and goes on a spiel about how being powerful means you trust no one and not even giving them a slight chance. He also goes on to say that being powerful means bringing everyone else down to their knees and tells the other 3 schools "Just shut up and stick with me. I'll show you what it's like to be at the top." Ryo's face when he says this is a whole other conversation for another day.

I'M SORRY BUT THE LOOKS REIJI AND SHOJI GIVE HIM AFTER HIS LITTLE SPIEL HAD ME ROLLING🤣 Like both characters gave him the most judgmental expression and then you got Shoji over here looking away and rolling his eyes PUH-LEASE I AM DEAD🤣

Aside from all of this being extremely funny to me, this plays into my point from above. Yes, all these looks are super funny but it really shows how as "bad" as the other guys are they still run in the same way that Oya and the other S.W.O.R.D gangs do, through friendship and comradery.

Fujin asked "You don't trust we can do it huh?" because Ebara most likely runs on comradery as well. You don't pay someone to do shit for you, they just know to trust each other to get it done. This is a concept that Amagai does not and can not understand because he's been conditioned to believe that the people around him are not worthy of trust or friendship due to his status, they just work for him. As long as he throws money at their feet, they'll do what he wants.

That's like kind of sad actually, the fact that the other "antagonists" of the film still know friendship and he doesn't... I still hate his guts though. We love Ryoki but we don't love his character Amagai.

The way Shoji vs Tsukasa asks Suzaki why he’s working for Amagai

I think everyone can agree that within that 3 school alliance, Shoji Sameoka was the only character with working brain cells (full offense to all the other characters lol no one else in that room had critical thinking skills I swear). From the first meeting we see, the audience can already tell Shoji is the only character who has doubts about this alliance but also questions it; while everyone else has doubts but proceed to just follow Amagai's orders. This eventually leads to Shoji being the one to suggest that Ebara drop out of the alliance because he thinks it’s stupid which then leads to him agreeing to Todoroki’s terms of dropping out of the alliance if Todoroki wins against Fujin and Raijin. I feel like Shoji as a person judges the other characters based on what he knows/hears about them.

We see this when he confronts Suzaki. Shoji asks Suzaki why he would come to Senomon and work under Amagai when he was the one running Nami High. Suzaki tells him to mind his own business. Shoji is asking Suzaki from a place of strength. Based on the dialogue, it seems like Shoji knew Suzaki and Amagai’s reputations before this alliance. I deduce this down to Shoji knowing that Suzaki was the strongest at Nami High and knowing that Amagai isn’t actually physically strong compared to the other characters, he just likes to cause trouble and make others work for him. People fear Amagai not for his strength or skills as a fighter, but simply because he has the money and status to be at the “top”.

This brings me to believe that Shoji was asking why someone as strong as Suzaki would even work under Amagai who is clearly not a match for him strength wise. It seems like Shoji is asking Suzaki why he would be scared of Amagai’s money and work under him when Suzaki is clearly stronger. I think this is because the Ebara guys ranks are based on their strength/who is the strongest (I make this assumption from the fact that Fujin and Raijin are straight up gym bros lol) so Shoji can’t understand why Suzaki is working under someone clearly weaker than him.

Tsukasa’s question is the same….. but also different.

Tsukasa strikes me as someone who really gets to know someone personally to the best of his abilities before he makes his own judgment on them. We see this with Rao in the movie. Tsukasa could’ve taken everyone’s word for it and been like “oh Rao is a big mean monster” but he takes it upon himself to find out who Rao actually is through Mercy. This is how he finds out Rao isn’t actually all that bad like the stories suggests and that Rao fights for good reason (for his siblings). This trait about Tsukasa is why he asks Suzaki why he fights for Amagai but is also why he’s the only one who is able to understand why Suzaki fights for Amagai without a direct answer.

When Tsukasa asks Suzaki why he works for Amagai, he says “why do you work for a guy like him? Does he has some kind of dirt on you?” and Suzaki just keeps quiet. This brings me to believe that Suzaki probably had a reputation for being the strongest at Nani High but also fought people within reason, he didn’t flaunt his strength just because he felt like it.

Tsukasa asked him based off the kind of person he is and not his strength. I'm assuming Ryo fought people within reason and not so much for fun or to assert his dominance over others with his strength, so him working under someone who has as shitty of a personality as Amagai probably threw Tsukasa off a bit.

He is also however able to tell that there is a friendship there even if it isn't great. At the end when Yuken and Todoroki ask why Ryo would work for someone like Amagai, Tsukasa says it's because he means more to Ryo than that. Alluding to the fact that Ryo is doing stuff for Amagai because he sees him as a friend even if everyone else doesn't.

Okay, I'm done now😂 this wasn't as deep as my other analysis because it's not super deep with comparisons or anything like that it was just stuff I noticed while watching the movie again.

a/n: when i tell you thinking of coworker!skz fills me with joy and peace, i am not lying <3 i'm so endeared by jisung as he is a silly little guy and i hope in a different universe i am in fact his coworker :,-) pics not mine !!

you meet him because you're having a strange problem with the main program you use at work

and one of your coworkers sends you his way because "jisung can fix anything"

you were like okay don't know why you emphasized "anything" but i can't finish my project like this so i'll go see the ~mystical jisung~

your coworker was right because 1) jisung fixed your issue within 5 minutes 2) you watched him fix problems for 3 other people WHILE he was helping you

he's the office ace

which is how you get to know him because you have a week where all of your technology, equipment, etc are cursed

jisung's just like "damn if you wanted to get to know me you could've just bought me a coffee" he actually says that to you

he doesn't expect you to buy him a coffee though

when you do, he gets the widest eyes and a huge smile on his face <333 suddenly he's so shy and thanks you softly <333

after that, he says "good morning !!" every day and will say "hi :-)" whenever he passes you in the office :,-) he still feels a lil shy after you were so nice to him, but he wants to show his appreciation by being kind to you in return <3

next thing you know though, he's talking a million miles an hour every time he sees you because he wants to be official coworker besties !

y'all end up having SO much to talk about

whenever something exciting, funny, or ridiculous happens, you are the first person he tells and vice versa

he also constantly suggests to you and asks for your recommendations on movies and shows

he wants to debrief with you every time both of you have watched something and he'll do impressions to make you laugh

sometimes he gets you in trouble because of how much he talks to you during the workday

but you don't care because it's SO refreshing to get so much serotonin from one person

outside of fun chats, he's actually a really helpful coworker

not just with fixing tech/program issues, though

if you're having a hard time putting together a workflow for a project, choosing a template for a document, or simply writing an email, jisung is by your side helping you out (and encouraging you!!)

you're also the only person in the entire company he'll go to for help

he trusts you so much actually !!! because you're the one person who doesn't put him on a pedestal for his skills. you tell him all the time how he's so talented at literally everything he does, but you like him for so many other reasons that he doesn't feel uncomfortable being himself around you

which is why, if he knows you two are the only ones in a certain area of the office, he WILL break out into song off-key

you're getting a full performance every time you are in the break room together

he especially does this when you two have to stay late because "we need to stay energized, y/n!!! where's your team spirit?"

he will become an absolute mess of laughter on the floor if you do a ridiculous performance

probably has to take a break after because he laughed so hard his stomach hurts

he'll also use you as an excuse to get out of things LOL

if someone he isn't fond of wants to meet with him to finish a report or something when they could just do it online, he'll say "oh, sorry, i'm working with y/n on a big project, so my calendar is pretty stacked. i'll review it and leave comments for you though!"

he's obviously a cool and adorable guy, so people ask him to after-work hangs a LOT. he's not mad at it, but, he isn't the biggest fan of awkward small talk with some coworkers

so he'll hit them with "ah, i wish i could, but y/n and i are going to the movies tonight, so i'll have to do a raincheck!"

he runs up to your desk and panic whispers things like "if anyone asks we're going wine tasting on friday night !!!!!"

and you're like ???? wine tasting ???

one of y'all's coworkers walks by so instead of explaining, jisung loudly says, "yeah, i heard they're suuuuuuuuuper famous for their red blend too. should be fun to see how it compares to the rest of their wine repertoire!"

you're holding back laughter at his commitment to the bit

this happens so many times you stop questioning it and play along, much to jisung's delight !!

he always assures you that you don't have to actually go anywhere with him, but you often do because it's so fun to hang out together

jisung's antics also include pranking you

like say your office does a gift exchange for the holidays. jisung begs on his KNEES to get your name

when you are handed your gift, you immediately know it's from jisung

because he's giggling and making comments like oooOOoOoOOooOOoooOoohhh let's see what you got, y/n!! open your present first!!!

he's such a silly guy he can't hide his excitement :,-)

once you open it you're both laughing your asses off because he managed to get you a rubber chicken that has a customized squeak so it's actually audio of jisung imitating a rubber chicken

for as much as you're doubled over in laughter, he is in total hysterics because he loves his own joke so much <3

jisung is legitimately the best coworker buddy you could ever ask for, and he has no clue how he survived so long at work without you

if you make any joke about quitting he'll always say "yeah if you quit i'm coming with you. you're never getting rid of me >:-)"

and he really means it <3333

How do you manage to stay in a fandom for so long? I'm always mario jumping from fandom to fandom every 3-6 months

Oh, so many reasons. I think I've answered this before but in a much more concise way so idk what happened here when I tried to answer again from scratch but uhhh I wrote a lot lol?? Long ramble time. 😂

I found this fandom at a point in my life when I really emotionally needed it, so I got really attached to it. I stayed because of the friends I've made in it and because of the OCs I got invested in, both mine and other people's, and every so often something invigorated my interest like a new roleplay I got to join or new concept art that got discovered.

I'm also just a really dedicated person (for better or worse) and I still have ideas that I want to get out there creatively. I don't get a lot of free time, and I rarely have energy for hobbies after work so my time passes slowly in the sense that I may still be in the middle of appreciating a thing, meanwhile everyone else has already sped through and processed it and moved on.

So I've gotta be really careful about choosing what to spend my limited time and energy on. It sometimes takes me a whole month to draw a piece of art that I'm proud of. It would be a huge waste of my time to spend so much energy on a fandom that after 3 months I think I might not care about anymore.

And like, if it's going to take me a month to draw 1 thing, what am I going to choose? Fanart of a character from a show that I just finished that I might possibly move on from in 3 months? Or art of my darling Audrey OC that I've been developing for years and whom I know will always bring me joy for the rest of my life? It's not a hard choice! Like I'm sure it's obvious by now but I really love my oc. It's gotten to the point that I look for her in every media I consume. I like characters because they remind me of her, and I like plots because they remind me of her. When I watch a movie and end up loving it, I'm not going to be drawing fanart for that movie, I'm more likely going to be drawing Audrey Grace in some way that's consciously or subconsciously inspired by that movie. I'm sure other people with beloved ocs can relate to that, too.

Back to media consumption: I'm constantly watching new things, shows, movies, letsplays, and I'm able to love them just fine, but I never participate in their fandoms (unless you count reblogging fanart as participation. I personally don't). I just don't feel motivated to and I feel like it's unnecessary. I shouldn't need to prove anything. You can appreciate media without engaging in fandom. In fact, I encourage it, because a lot of what I see in fandoms these days is just stressful, at least to me. And I don't want that stress. I'm much happier as a person when I don't have to read other people's opinions, discourse and drama over some show's themes or ships or whatever. I can just quietly revel in my own enjoyment of the show without being tainted by anything else, and my love for it is not any less valid than the person who's livetweeting their loud emotions while watching the same show and putting out fanart 1 hour after every episode. Bless them, though.

And I guess that's mostly what I do these days with the Onceler fandom, too. Appreciating it more quietly these days, I mean. It's just that...I have a fandom related oc so I draw her. And I have friends here so we do stuff together and we reference fandom inside jokes no matter what activity we're doing. If I encounter art that deeply moves me personally, I reblog it, just like I reblog art for other media on my sideblog. When anyone has a fandom history related question, I'm eager to answer because I don't want the past to be misrepresented or misunderstood. And also, since it's been over a decade, this fandom has long ago become my daily normal. I can do whatever I like but I can't really "leave" this fandom unless I delete all my social media and cut off all my online friends. And delete my memories of the past 12 years of my life as well. Just become a completely different person.

So I guess I can reverse the sentiment: I can't relate to people who hop fandoms every 3 to 6 months. 😭 All the power to you, but that's just not the way I happen to live my life, nor the way I engage with the media I consume! The Once-ler fandom was the one exception. It was special.

But who knows, anything can happen in the future. I'm not so proud that I'm purposely blocking myself from looking at other fandoms or anything. I just go with the flow! Right now I'm slowly making my way through jjba, an omori playthrough, a Plague Tale playthrough, and urusei yatsura season 2 (the new anime). Probably nothing will come out of any it except for a bunch of Audrey inspos, but again, who knows. XD I'm also going to an idkhow concert soon, and I've bought merch from their store already. Does that count as participating in a fandom? Maybe not. But now that I think of it, even if I "join" another fandom, it doesn't necessarily mean I'd leave the onceler fandom either, so maybe it wouldn't matter haha.
