Did a quick redesign sketch of baymax. May mess around with this and do some more of the big hero 6 heroes and villains in this style.
The general idea I’m working on for this world is “what if instead of Callahan being the big bad for the movie, it was Yama, forcibly adding cybernetics to his bot fighters to mimic what their bots could do. Everything with tadashi and the fire stays the same but was set by Yama to steal hiro’s microbots in retaliation for humiliating him at the bot fight at the beginning. We find out he’s trying to free obake, who was a scientist in the portal project and was sucked into the portal when it overloaded.
For baymax in particular, the big ideas with him here are that tadashi never quite managed to get him fully operational, so hiro had to finish/tweak his current body, resulting in him being a bit less soft in places, but also featuring a few more “search and rescue” based functions rather than being designed for fully in hospital use.
Armored baymax’s new function here is that the armor is actually made from wasabi’s car, as a way to make it mobile and give it the ability to disguise itself.

How about the tfp bots meet bot baymax ?
Optimus finds this bot delightful to be around. They are kind, curious and like to help others. He is, however, a bit worried about the fact that they are so easily pushed around by others. They seem to value their own self too little and this is something Optimus wishes to help them with. It's important to stand up for oneself after all. Overall, he has nothing but positive things to say about them.
This bot might be one of Ratchet's new favorite mechs. Not only are they a medical professional (which alleviate a lot of Ratchet's work as the only medic of the team) but they also allow him to finally catch some real recharge for once. A bit protective of them honestly and will bark reprimands at anyone that tries pushing them around. Wishes they could grow some backbone but can't really bring himself to get truly frustrated with them.
Bumblebee likes them, simple as that. Sure, they are a bit clueless when it comes to things that are not medical but they have an easygoing personality that just makes bots feel at ease. Tries to push them out of their comfort zones sometimes so that they can try new things and hopefully find purpose as more than just a medic. Sure, there'a a war going on but that doesn't mean they can't be a regular person too.
As far as medics goes, Bulkhead prefers this one. Sorry Ratchet but this bot simply has better bedside manners. It also helps that they've never shouted at him for accidentally breaking something. They are a chill bot to be around and after a long day of kicking some con tailpipe it's nice to be able to come back to base to someone that's so gentle. Gets a bit tired of their fussing sometimes but doesn't act frustrated with them.
They stress Arcee out. Oh, they are a nice bot and Primus knows that the team has been in desperate need of another medic but they are just so... meek. They can't defend themself, not in arguments or in combat and if a con got their servos on them, someone like Airachnid, then they wouldn't be able to do anything to save themself. That's why Arcee feels the need to constantly look out for them and make sure they're safe.

Can’t believe i just now saw the post where you compared Big hero 6 dynamics to Dick and Tim, I know you’re not a big Dick/Babs shipper but just thinkin about the angst… like what if the same accident that put Dick in a coma paralyzed Babs? also the fact that when Jim Gordon was Batman for a while he had a giant mech suit called “rookie”
So I’m thinking in this au Baymax could just be Barbra Gordon’s science fair project she re-vamped so she could keep an eye on her boyfriends dumbass little brother
Tim on his first night out as a vigilante: “I am the night, I am justice, fear me for I….”
*Cue Bat-Bot crashing through the skylight and beating the snot out of the bad guys before grabbing Tim by the scruff like a naughty kitten and taking off*
Tim: what the FUCK
Bat-Bot, speaking in Barbra’s voice: “I should be the one asking you that, Timothy 😒”
Tim: *high pitched screaming*
I just think it would be funny
You know what anon this is hilarious I agree
Dick gets out of his coma and whenever he sees batbot he's like...sigh...I love Babs so much...
Tim, hissing and crouching in a corner: it's evil
Dick, melancholy: yeah...she's looking out for us from the grave, keeping you safe. So kind of her
Tim: EVIL

Daisy, Lilith, & Venus in Outlaws Headcanons
This is going to be so much fun
@punkeropercyjackson @mayameanderings @theautisticcentre @moonage-gaydream
Lilith and Daisy join at the same time because besties and Venus is the last to join
Their recruitment basically went like
Daisy: This is my friend Lilith and she's amazing with tech :D!
Lilith: Daisy is great at patching people up
Jason: Okay Lilith's in charge of technology and security and Daisy is our medic and a sometimes field agent
Venus: I'm married to Kyle and he asked me to join because there needs to be an even number of girls
Jason: Field agent
They would soon realize it was both a blessing and a curse to leave someone like Lilith in charge of both tech and security
Lilith is so unserious on comms. Like she's already pretty silly, but being in charge of their communications has really brought out her inner menace
She will bring up the most embarrassing shit at the most inconvenient of times for no reason other than to troll
"I know what Jason and Summer did in the break room" "Lilith, NO-"
Has Jason microchipped not in an abusive way (*glares at Gotham War!Bruce*) but in a funny way. Like "I literally cannot afford for you to get lost because you're tech illiterate" way
As for Daisy, she's the Nurse Joy of the team. She has intermediate medical knowledge and uses her powers to create medicines and remedies
Venus has experience with being on teams: the Star Sapphires, Trifecta, etc so the crackhead energy of the Outlaws is nothing to her
These three are the most terrifying members for different reasons
A lot of people outside the Outlaws don't know that Lilith is basically a Fallen Angel so if someone manages to get past their security by some stroke of luck, then horrors beyond their comprehension await them
Not to mention Lilith has an expansive knowledge of black magic and the dark arts as a whole
Let's not forget the part where Lilith can also just possess the entire Outlaws computer system and become a techno eldritch horror
When Daisy does get called out to the field, she'd get underestimated a lot because a lot of people would chalk her up to being baby Poison Ivy
That is until she actually uses her powers and they realize that hers are grotesque eldritch horrors (Daisy's Persephone slay as Summer says)
Let's say, hypothetically, that Venus still has the SS power ring. Venus's powers as a Star Saphire are unique because her sincere love for her life and others fuels the rings power to the max
One of her powers is crystallization, turning anything she comes in contact with into pure space crystal. This is scary for a number of reasons
If she's going by Boombox at the point she joins the Outlaws then it's even more scary because Boomin' Bot is a mix between Baymax, an Iron Man suit, Pat Dugan's S.T.R.I.P.E mech, Spiderbot, and an Eva unit from NGE all in one

Is the K-Verse more technologically advanced than the base MCU Earth?
Yeah, I’d say so. Not overly so, but they did have functional LMDs in the 70s and Baymax, while impressive for 2012, isn’t exactly mind-blowing, so we’re a bit ahead.
Also, this reminds me (and I’m sure this is something no one else but me is actually bothered about), I feel like I haven’t justified in-universe the fact that Tony claims the Iron Man suit is at least 5 years ahead of anyone else becoming capable of reproducing the tech, when I also have HYDRA designing (if not necessarily fielding) battle mechs in the mid 40s. The truth is, mech suits and exoskeletons have been in use in some form or another since then (a version of the Crimson Dynamo was active in the late stages of the Cold War, for example), but Tony’s true brilliance with Iron Man is due to three things: the form factor (there’s never been such a compact suit before, and certainly not one packing that much heat), the power source (before the arc reactor, the best his predecessors could manage was nuclear power, which was obviously very dangerous), and the ability to fly in that unique, highly maneuverable fashion the Iron Man suit is capable of. That’s what Tony’s confident others won’t be able to reproduce for a while. Even Vanko, brilliant as he was, couldn’t miniaturize the components enough to eliminate the clunkiness of his final suit.

BH6 Snippets - 2/29/2024
Happy Leap day! Oh hey we made it it's March! :D Now back to my two pages a day with fewer late nights....
Anywho--did more work on the time-travelling Obake sequel (and I think some on season 3 for it too), but in the meantime, more from the episode "El Fuego":
Tadashi was pretty blunt in his opinion of the El Fuego fight. “Seriously?” Hiro demanded as Tadashi put his armor up.  “We’re supposed to let that guy get away with badmouthing Baymax?” “That guy’s opinion doesn’t change Baymax’s purpose,” Tadashi told him.  “I’m not turning my healthcare robot into a battlebot because some jobless wrestler called him out on TV.” “Help,” Hiro said to Obake. “Not acting makes him look the buffoon,” Obake told him.  “The man is full of hot air, there’s no point in inflating his ego.” “Seriously!?  Okay I’m going over to Honey Lemon and Fred they have the right ideas about this.” “On the one hand, it’s nice that we’re agreeing on something,” Tadashi said to Obake.  “Also, Fred, before you suggested the time and place I was trying to talk him into forming a new wrestling league under the Fredricksons.” “Oh dude that would be awesome and I’m sorry I messed that up,” Fred said, popping the lid off his costume. “And we lost Fred,” Hiro sighed.  “Honey Lemon?” “Sorry Hiro, it’s different when it’s outside the ring and people could get hurt,” Honey Lemon said, wincing. “Seriously!?  Does no one agree with me on this!?” “I’m all for solving our problems with violence, but the guy didn’t call me out in public,” Gogo said.  “Probably knew he’d lose.” “Okay we need to talk,” Wasabi told her.  “Because I feel like there’s a fine line between confidence and committing manslaughter.” “If it makes you feel better I take it out on the punching bag over there so I don’t cross that line.” “Knowing you’re aware of said line doesn’t, actually.”
So in canon Hiro takes the insult to Baymax way personal because of him being Tadashi's legacy (which, in reflection, is setting up the second arc being focused on Legacies and puts the rest of season 2 arc 2 into perspective) but with Tadashi alive in this AU he's able to act as the voice of reason and hopefully keep Hiro from dressing up in a mech suit and fighting a guy outside his weight class.
Anyway now that the month's over that's the last y'all will see of me here outside of the occasional art post or fic announcement--see you next year!

For some reason, High Tide did flinch when the other approached, closing his optics shut with said woosh and clenching his fists expecting something to happen. Well, something did happen... He felt warmth around his frame, prompting the mech to open his optic to look at Baymax. For a moment he didn’t want to speak fearing he might commit another slip up but he also felt that being that quiet could spark something else too.
Tumblr media
“... Sorry,” the mech finally spoke after a short while, allowing himself to relax his stiff posture. “And thank you.”

Here comes Baymax in all his glory.
Had to keep the information really short due to how much space the guy takes up. There’s a lot to note about him but alas, you can only do so much. Either way, it’s the basic gist on the guy.
Been awhile since I’ve drawn armored Baymax. This is honestly my best one so yay.

Not!Baymax finally doing something other than than his function like so many bots have been encouraging them to do, doing art and the first thing he draws is a lost lighter
How would Megatron, Rodimus, and Drift react?
Back in his gladiatorial days, Megatron had his face plastered on posters and billboards, paraded around and showed off like prized cattle. In those he always looked fierce and wild, a snarl on his face and energon on his armor. A beast fighting for the entertainment of the masses
When he started the decepticon movement, those commercial posters were exchanged for propaganda. Still just as fierce, except there was now a silent rage in his optics, a determination.
Yet this drawing is nothing like that. Drawn on a simple data pad, on a pirated drawing program. There's an upside down v on his face to signify his usual frown and his optic ridges are lowered into a look of annoyance. But he looks more like a grumpy old mech rather than a former genocidal warlord. And that's when Megatron realizes that this is how the bot sees him. Not as a fighter, a tyrant or a monster, but as a person. When was the last time someone did that? When was the last time he considered himself as one?
There's a smile tugging at his lips as he thanks the bot for the drawing but he manages to keep his face neutral until he gets back to his habsuite. When there, a gentle smile breaks out across his face as he gazes upon the drawing with fond optics. He will save and treasure it forever.
---
Most bots would describe Rodimus as egotistical. After all, what kind of mech makes badges with his own face on them or has an escape pod modeled after his helmet? And yeah, they are partially right. Rodimus has this confident aura, like he's so self assured and comfortable with who and where he is. Thing is, this is mostly just a cover, a shield to hide his insecurities behind. Rodimus is a Prime but he's not THE Prime. That's Optimus. And he will always be compared to him. It's hard to live up to and as such Rodimus is riddles with doubts about himself, about his adequacy as a leader.
When the bot gives him this drawing, Rodimus outward reaction is to laugh and thank them for this piece of fanart. He will add it to all the other ones he's been given! Good to know that he's appreciated as a captain! Here, have a Rodimus Star! For 'Best First Drawing'! He acts like it's no big deal and that while he's grateful, it's something he expected. Of course, there's way more to this than he shows.
Inside, Rodimus is a mess of emotions. He craves validation, attention and praise. And this drawing? It gives him all of that. Because the bot could have drawn anyone else, SHOULD have drawn anyone else, yet they chose to draw him? And the way that he's drawn, it's all that he's trying to portray himself as. Confident, brave and strong. It means more to him than he would ever dare to tell anyone, not even himself.
---
When Drift is handed the datapad it takes him a couple of seconds to realize it's a drawing of him he's looking at. Not because it's a bad drawing, no! It's actually very charming. It's just that sometimes he forgets that he's no longer Deadlock. For almost four million years he was this boogeyman to the autobots, this cold hearted killer and yet here he's drawn so- so soft.
Drift had assumed when the bot started to draw that they would draw one of the crew. After all, there wasn't much else on the ship to draw inspiration from. He just hadn't expected it to be himself. Yet it's a pleasant surprise, one that makes him smile widely. He thanks the bot and deep inside he feels a bit of pride. The fact that they drew him must mean that he's had some sort of positive impact on them and that's all he could ever ask for.
If the bot liked to draw then he will encourage them to continue doing so, even suggesting that maybe they meet up with Ten and ask him to teach them other artistic mediums. Seeing them blossom into a person beyond their intended function is satisfying on a deep, spiritual level.

I am HERE FOR THIS.
Okay but are they both in witness protection or is it just one of them and the other is the agent in charge of protecting them? Find out in a year when I get done writing it because I am the slowest goddamn writer on Earth!!!
(I swear to god I’ll try not to take as long but I make no promises)

& finally!!! Here's the second to last of the Big Hero 6 comics I had to translate! I totally remember why I stopped now... I was dreading this one! & it really was an absolute monster to edit in order to post it on here lol
Anyways, enjoy a little showdown with Yama! & also, we learn that Baymax has ice packs in his skin? Very cool indeed!! Haven't heard anything about that in the film or series to my knowledge, so that's pretty nifty!
Anyhow! Please feel free to check out the others from the same magazine! There's one last single page comic at the end of zine, but I'll save that for another day... in the meantime, enjoy!
1. Technical Nightmare: click here!
2. Adventurous Fantasy: click here!
3. Grilling Hero: click here!
4. The Winning Robot: you are here :)
5. A Special Technique: click here!
Also, I had forgotten! But this zine had a paper cutout Baymax doll where you can put little baymax into his super mech suit &, though its adorable as all get out!!, I have a kitten who eats paper & I would never be brave enough to build this little Baymax to keep around my desk!!
Tumblr media
[& please, feel free to use any of these comics at your leisure! I did not draw them, they are from an official film magzine I bought back when the film first came out in Norway. I still haven't found these comics floating around the interwebs, so I wanted to translate them into English for more people to enjoy!... as no on really can read Norwegian besides... Norwegians lol]
