Is Frenkie alright? What’s been going on with him lately? I didn’t watch the match but I’ve heard people saying that he doesn’t look like he cares anymore.

he’s been barca’s hardest working player between defensive and offensive on and off for years. he’s now clearly struggling with the weird back line xavi is insisting on playing and is getting shit for his defensive awareness/positioning— essentially, he’s having a bit of a rough spot and people are jumping on the bandwagon to shit on him because he’s been so solid for so long.

he was barca’s best player last season, only maybe behind araujo, but people would rather shit on one of their best players than acknowledge that he’s having a rough patch. he stayed despite interest from bayern, united, arsenal, and half the clubs in europe, and barca’s shitty fanbase has chosen to pay him back for that by having fucking goldfish memories and ignoring how incredibly important he is on and off the pitch, how much money he’s deferred to help the club’s finances, and his insane work ethic

last season, people were laughing at united for wanting to buy him, saying he’d never leave. this season, half of barca’s fanbase would sell him in a heartbeat, because they’re all fucking stupid and self-sabotaging.

people think he looks like he “doesn’t care” because he’s not being a winger, CAM, CDM and CB all at once like he was last season.

barca fans are idiots. (including me. but. that’s not the point)

can you IMAGINE Klopp, Pep, Ange, or any decent manager with a midfielder like Frenkie? he’d be insane. but xavi doesn’t have any idea how to utilize him, and he’s become an easy scapegoat for people to target.
