Never done an ask before, so this is interesting. Anyways, I decided to try my hand at translating some of my OCs into Clanmew! Forewarning, I was doing this while playing COD with my siblings, and had some trouble with translating!

FlintShadow - Swarfyfwasha; I couldn't find flint, so I went with this.

BadgerHeart - Pihabababun: I also couldn't find badger, so I don't know if I'm just bad at using google sheets, or... But I think this name is fun to pronounce even though he's evil. Really funny.

BristleStrike - Bachkubo: I almost went with Marrl for his prefix instead, but I didn't want it to be so negative.

ChestnutScar - Konchyach: I just couldn't find most of the prefixes, though that could've just been my inexperience. I also kinda like how this one's pronounced, too.

FoxFang - Aowaoki: I find this one is pretty cute sounding.

OakThistle - Byochkegkep: He's got a mouthful of a name! Really like it, though. I went pretty generic with the Thistle part, since I didn't know the connotations or much about the specific plants and didn't have time between COD matches to do so. Sorry.

BuzzardStrike - Yassgakubo: this guy is BristleStrike's, ChestnutScar's and OakThistle's father. Not very nice, either.

StarlingFrost - Kaawiachiki: This is the main girl, younger half-sister to FlintShadow and BadgerHeart. She's also lesbian, so that's great. Actually, LeopardStep is her mate.

LeopardStep - Saorpappap: I figure there's a better word for 'Step', but it's late where I'm from and I have school tomorrow. It's also really cute, but it doesn't really fit her personality. She's more out-spoken and brazen and things like that.

Yeah, so... These certainly are not the best, but I think they're good for my first shot at this. It was actually pretty fun! Of course, if you have better ideas for the translation, I wouldn't mind some constructive criticism!

I love your BB AU, btw! And it has inspired me to work on my own OC clans! Sorry for how long this is!

You did excellently! These names are great!

Here's a scattershot of some fresh words for you;

Chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) = Koneq Note that in Clanmew, a name for a plant refers to the ENTIRE organism, so this word refers to a horse chestnut tree. This is actually because Clan cats are obligate carnivores, they mostly think of trees and plants in terms of how they affect HUNTING, not the edible things they produce. They also wouldn't distinguish between the Horse Chestnut and the Sweet Chestnut. This is because prey will eat the nuts equally, but sweet chestnuts can finicky. They don't grow well in the wild. Even if the Clan cats had access to a couple of sweet chestnuts, they would just assume it's a chestnut with differently-shaped leaves and never find out that their nuts are edible, because horse chestnuts are HIGHLY poisonous to cats. They would not risk trying to eat a sweet chestnut, assuming that it's the same type of toxic rock as a horse chestnut.

Conker = Okikwo Comes from Spike + Ball. One of the very few fruits that has a unique name unrelated to its "plant" in Clanmew! Conkers are the green, spiky "nut" (nekboq) containing poisonous "acorns" (kong) that come from chestnut trees. They are often wrapped in leather and used as balls, though some games just play with an unwrapped conker (ow).

Flint = Boshur Etymology unclear; Possibly Stone + Holy + Pale. Found exclusively at the Mothermouth, which is an abandoned quartz mine. Because there is no other good source of flint at Sanctuary Lake, the pieces that were brought with the Clans fleeing the destruction of the White Hart have become precious heirlooms. Flint is the most reliable way of making fire. Clan cats believe that it is a gift from StarClan, and reacts when struck against the "evil" fake-flint that Humans try to clad their monsters and fences in (metal).

Stance, gait, "way of walking," most common form of the "step" suffix = Yam Most of the time, if a specific verb for a type of walking isn't used, -step is "yam." When used with a prefix, it implies that they MOVE like the thing they are named after. It means a bit more than just a single physical step, or a particular movement, it's the WAY it moves around.

Pawprint, animal track = Pabyam Self-explanatory. The impression of an animal's foot on the ground.

And, lastly, badger is mair. I realized that we just didn't have a word for it a while ago, and I was also taken aback by that. It's surprising we went this long without it, lmao.

Smokesun- Luis (Ex-Windclan Medicine Cat)

Lionfur- Leon (Thunderclan Warrior)

Badgerheart- Rebecca (Thunderclan Medicine Cat)

Ashpaw- Ashley (Thunderclan Apprentice)

Ada (Rogue)

Note before I start: I’m making this take place in the old forest territories from arc 1 because this is basically just a copy of the second arc HXNSHSNSJSJ and it’d make more sense for their long journey to the ocean to take multiple months rather than just a few days like it would if they were in the new lake territories, so alas, no Skyclan in this AU- Only Thunderclan, Windclan, Shadowclan and Riverclan

OK ok so this AU starts BEFORE the actual story starts with Smokesun (Luis); Windclans only medicine cat. He is, obviously, very well-liked amongst his clanmates and he’s got a particularly strong bond with Starclan and receives pretty clear visions from them as a result (Starclan is like Cat Heaven and Cat Gods and Medicine cats are the only cats who can communicate with them)

So when Smokepaw (he’s still an apprentice at this point) receives a VERY SCARY vision from Starclan telling him that a sickness is cursed to ravish their clan, he obviously panics and tells everyone, and IMMEDIATELY begins working on a cure with guidance from Starclan

,,,,,,,,Only that cure DOES NOT work and in fact makes them become sicker EVEN FASTER. Some cats question whether he was even getting visions from Starclan in the first place or whether he was receiving them from the Dark Forest (evil cat hell where Bad Cats go)

SO when Smokepaw/sun starts getting punishing visions from Starclan so horrible to the point they have him physically coiling on the ground the clans like. Yep!! He fucked up!!!! He needs to be punished!!!!!

And ofc Smokesun does NOT wanna be punished and he also wants to escape Starclans visions so he. Runs away from Windclan off into the wilderness never to be seen again (If a med cat goes outside of clan territories they loose their connection to starclan and can’t receive visions from them)

So with their only medicine cat gone and their clan slowly dying from a mysterious illness, Windclan shut themselves off from the rest of the clans and don’t ask anyone for help (because this is Warrior Cats babey!!!!) and the other clans just go. Oh ok. They’re probably plotting a war or something. Let’s leave them alone.

And it’s against the code for other Medicine Cats to talk about insider Medicine Cat stuff with the rest of their clan so even though the other clans med cats notice Smokesun is missing, they’re not allowed to say anything

That is until Badgerpaw, Thunderclans medicine cat, (our beloved Rebecca Chambers) spills the beans to Thunderclans leader (presumably President Graham in this AU AGABSGEBEYDNSHXJ) that oooOoOoOoO a spOoooOoOoOoky evil medicine cat cursed Windclan and that’s why they��re sick!!!!! But because this is warrior cats the leader doesn’t say anything so moons pass and nothing really happens

Then we FINALLY cut to where like, the ‘main story’ starts- Lionfur (Leon) isn’t Thunderclans DEPUTY but he’s definitely a high-ranking warrior and as such mr leader president Grahamstar tells him first that his daughter, Ashpaw, has come down with a mysterious illness oOoOoOoOooOOoooo and Badgerheart (now a full medicine cat) suspects that it’s the same illness Windclan got from that super scary super evil medicine cat.

This is all obviously FRESH NEWS to Lionfur cuz the leader hasn’t told ANYONE abt this and it’s ESPECIALLY WORRYING cuz Ashpaw is more like a lil sibling to Lionfur in this AU (just for the sake of making the au make sense please don’t spin this BXBHSSNS) so he’s a liiiiiiil more understanding when the leaders like “ok. Now I need you to go outside clan territories and travel for MIIIIIIIIIIIILES to find a cure and reach the ocean and find that evil medicine cat. May starclan light your path lmao. Oh also Badgerheart got a vision that the ocean is where you’ll find the cure and we need to bring that evil medicine cat back so that they can repent but Badgerheart has to stay here so there aren’t any plot holes lmao”

So Lionfur is about to set off to god knows where on a god knows how dangerous mission when Ashpaw is like “:DDDDDD hey hi hello I’m coming with you!!!!!!!” And Lionfurs like “??????WTF NO YOU'RE NOT YOU'RE SICK????????” But It’s already too late so he begrudgingly let’s her tag along

Along the way after they’ve made it past clan territories, they somehow stumble across a mysterious cat who understands their clan language!!!!! He introduces himself as Smokesun and he knows an oddly large amount of knowledge about herbs and medicine and the territories outside of the clans and he’s also just so handsome and so charming and hey he’s a sweetheart to Ashpaw and I mean shucks they need somebody with proper herb knowledge to join them anyways so he tags along!!!! (Lionfur probably wouldn’t recognise him cuz Smokesun was only an apprentice when he left and also Medicine cats from other clans don’t usually interact with other clan cats)

So the three of them go on wild and whacky adventures together and I imagine if this was a warriors book this is where the main story would take place!!!!!!!!!!! I don’t have anything in mind but I imagine they’d probably have to fight against rogue groups (maybe a stand in for so Illuminados idk they’re not really relevant in this au) or giant dogs (again maybe Krauser) all while laughing and having fun and growing closer and oh god is Lionfur falling in love with this total looser from the middle nowhere he knows nothing about?????? He totally is!!!!!!!!!!!

But along their journey, Lionfur starts to notice some,,,,,,, weird stuff happening. Like, Smokesun will randomly double over and claw at his head but then sit up a few seconds later saying he’s totally fine (he’s not my boy is cursed with The Visions still!!!!!!!!! He’s being forced by starclan to feel what his Windclan clan mates are feeling!!!) and Ashley’s only getting sicker and sicker so they need to REALLY get a move on and reach the ocean sooner or later and find this damn mysterious evil medicine cat!!!!

Also I’m not sure where else to slot this in but Ada’s important to this au too ofc!!!!!!!!! When Smokesun first left Windclan he had no clue how to fend for himself and Ada managed to find him almost half mangled so she picked him up and helped him but they kept accidentally crossing paths and every single time Smokesun looked worse and worse (those damn visions amirite) so she taught him how to find specific herbs thatd help and he realised oh!!!!! I can make a suppressant from these!!!!!!!!!! So he dedicated ALL of his time to making a proper suppressant for Windclan (all the while. Y’know. Experimenting on himself and clawing his chest open and giving himself god knows what. Y’know. Classic Luis body horror shit amirite)

But he was too afraid to go back to the clans and give it to them himself so Ada would trot over there and drop them off for him and leave before anyone could see her (they probably thought it was a gift from starclan or something BDNEHWNEJSJ)

And that’s basically how Ashpaw didn’t just straight up die throughout their journey cuz Smokesun knew where to find herbs to make the suppressants- also in a similar vein to the actual game, Ada kinda follows them around like a shadow and helps them before they can get in TOO much trouble (ie, scaring away dogs, knocking over dams etc etc)

ALSO also again idk where else to put it but I think it’s funny to note that Ada’s not a clan cat- she’s a rogue and thus she doesn’t believe in Starclan so she’s not ENTIRELY convinced Smokesun isn’t just. Slowly going insane ANSNHDNEHSNS

Everytime he gets a migraine and starts shouting about the dead cats in his head she’s just like “oh my GOD dude PLEASE just GO TO A V E T GODDAMNIT”

Anyways after a LONG while the three of them FINALLY get to the ocean but. There’s no magical starclan-guided cure there. And even worse????? Lionfur has come down with the same illness so ALL tensions are high at this point.

And Smokesun is SO FULL OF GUILT because he’s under the impression that he’s been cursed by starclan and so it’s HIS PRESENCE that’s making Starclans cure not show up but he can’t just. Run away from his problems and from Lionfur and Ashpaw like he normally does. Cuz y’know. They’re sick and he’s the only one who knows how to make a suppressant.

So he has to very woefully admit to Lionfur that HES the mysterious evil medicine cat they’ve been looking for and he’s the one that “cursed” them. And obviously. Lionfur is PIIIIIIISSSEDD. But Ashpaw sick and so is he and none of them can leave the ocean so they all just kinda. Have to sit in a cave and talk about their emotions.

Lionfur and Smokesun have a Heart to heart and wowie just like in the base game Lionfur forgives Smokesun for his actions because he’s clearly so full of guilt and is doing everything in his power to save them yadda yadda yadda we all know how this goes anyways they kiss and make up and tell each other that they love each other but now they’ve got a NEW dhilemma cuz cats from seperate clans can’t be in a relationship and medicine cats are forbidden to be in a relationship but honestly?????? Lionfurs kinda considering just,,,,, not going back to the clans (after they drop Ashpaw home ofc)

Also hilarious to note that Ada is still hanging around watching all this go down like that scene in Brokeback mountain and she still delivers suppressants and herbs to the clans but every now and then she’ll poke her head up and be like “oh btw the warrior you sent out and your daughter are doing fine lmao” and the cats will be like???????? Wtf???????? Who are you?????????????? I can also imagine Badgerheart and Ada form a lil friendship over this too BXBDBNSBDSND

Anyways Smokesun realises EURIKA I CAN MAKE MEDICINE FROM THE SALT IN THE OCEAN (hey if a new prophecy did that plot point so can I) so he gathers up the medicine and makes it and voila!!!!!!! It works!!!!!!!!!!!! He’s not cursed after all Starclan are just cruel omnipotent gods!!!!!!!! So with Ada’s help they all race back to the clans and give them all the medicine and Ashpaw back everything is happy as Larry Wahoo

But. Y’know. Theres still the problem of. Smokesun. He doesn’t wanna go back to Windclan even after they’ve been healed for obvious reasons, and Lionfur realized he finds a whole lot more fulfillment in going on crazy adventures with Lionfur and by god he’s in love with that dumb cat too. So they all say their teary goodbyes to Ashpaw (and watch as she gets her Warrior status and her new name, Ashsun after Smokesun :,,,) ) and Smokesun and Lionfur run Off into the sunset never to be seen by the clans again but always in love and living their best gay kitty cat lives the end :))))))))

Lastly I think it would be HILARIOUS if Ada became the medicine cat of Windclan after Smokesun. Because she does NOT believe in starclan so whenever they’re like “OH NOOOOO THR CLOUDS ARE COVERING THE MOON WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!!” She can shove poppy seeds in their mouths and tell them to shut the fuck up HDNHENEEJDJCUXJ

Dark Forest Resident: Feathercloud

Story:

Feathercloud was always a good warrior. He would do everything he was asked of, went on dawn patrol every morning, gave first pickings to the elders, and most importantly, he did his best to make Orchidsmoke happy.

He knew how awful her life started. He wanted to protect her from ever feeling that pain again. He had thought that nothing could ever go wrong, everything was so perfect … then one morning, instead of waking in his nest, he found himself in Starclan.

He watched everything that transpired after; and Feathercloud was there for both his mate's and his kits' trial. Despite knowing everything that they had done, Feathercloud still loved them with every inch of his being, and only grew to miss them more with every moon he was forced to live without them.

Feathercloud tried to figure out different ways to enter the Dark Forest, even asking other Starclan cats if they could help him; but they all ended up being a major bust since, of course, nobody wants to let him into the Dark Forest. He had never done anything wrong, just a poor, poor father missing his evil mate and kits.

He was kind of hesitanted, even with his determination to see his family again. Feathercloud decided that if they won't let him into the Dark Forest, then he'll make them chase him out.

Better yet, he'd ruin others’ possible loves while he's at it. Why should they be allowed the chance of happiness that he had stolen from right beneath his paws?

It all started with a young, naive Thunderclan medicine cat named Robinflame. The healer had an unrequited crush on a warrior named Silktwist. Feathercloud appeared to Robinflame in a dream, promising that he would help him get Silktwist. Soon those supportive messages became insistent. It’s okay for Robinflame to love, you only have one life. They just need to try harder. And harder. It’s important Silktwist becomes one with them, Feathercloud, a Starclan warrior, should know. Silktwist is her other half, and if she doesn’t share his feelings, does Robinflame’s own being even matter? She just can’t see it. They need to make her see it.

Robinflame grew awfully obsessed with Silktwist, a horrible infatuation that ended in Robinflame’s death, killed by Silktwist’s brother after the healer murdered Silktwist to ensure that nobody else could have him.

Feathercloud didn't try to hide that he had a major hand in the murder, Robinflame even revealed so in his trial. But strangely enough, the other Starclan cats didn't seem to care!

Feathercloud was confused, and decided that perhaps he needed more proof.

Second was Badgerhear, head over heals for Fawnstep; then Rabbitwhisker with a crush on Quailcry; and on and on it went. The cats began to blur together for Feathercloud, only some sticking out as bizzare, like that one cat he convinced to murder those they thought were in love with their crush, only for their crush to turn out to also be a murderer. Those two became mates after that. Feathercloud still feels weird about it.

The continued uncaringness of Starclan fueled Feathercloud’s increasing desperation.

He coerced Ashfur into becoming worse and worse in his obsession with Squirrelflight (not that he had to do much). And where does Ashfur end up after he was killed? In Starclan! At this point, Feathercloud began to wonder if Starclan were messing with him, or if they were just a bunch of brainless idiots.

He messed with Bumblestripe and Finleap a bit, but didn’t make them do much outside of acting creepy and pushy toward their respective love interests, Dovewing an Twigbrance.

It wasn’t until the incident with Ashfur’s possession did Starclan question allowing him into Starclan, and truly paid attention to Feathercloud’s actions.

At last, Feathercloud would be with Orchidsmoke again. Their kits had since faded, a fact that caused his heart to ache so painfully he thought he would die again, but he could stand it. Because he was finally with his love.

Riverpaw stepped along beside Hawkflame their pelts brushing,"Y'know this will probably be yer last gathering an 'paw?" She tilted her head to him catching his soft toothy grin. Riverpaw couldn't help feel the grin on her muzzleand pushed hard against him,"I dunno.. it's up to the mentor and leader." She spared a glance up at Jaggedstar just a few steps ahead of them and quieted her voice,"Does he even let apprentices before warriors?" She spoke in hushed tones a giggle rumbling from her chest only to be cuffed by the gentle deputy he himself rumbling.

The young white she-cat dipped under the brush into the chattering clearing, Hawkflame brushed past her brushing his tail along Riverpaw's shoulders as he headed towards Badgerheart at the base of the rock crouched under Timberstar. Applepaw tapped up beside Riverpaw nudging her away,"Lets go find a seat yeah!" She purred her chipper attitude never dulling even when in the presence of hostilify of other Clans,"RangeClan should be here in a bit and StarClan knows they will take all the seats!" Riverpaw allowed herself to be guided by her friend. Finding a spot wasn't difficult and the two she-cats plotted themselves down in the between of the rock and the medicine cat's shade.

"Riverpaw! Look RangeClan is here!" Applepaw's eyes glimmered with pure excitement as the large thick furred cats appeared at the edge of the island Cliffrunner led her Clan her head high and fur ruffled few tail lengths behind Aspenstar walked his chest heavy as he leaned against his son, Flowerfoot talked quietly to the old tom who quietly would chuckle as he walked. The clearing quieted as they walked."Aspenstar was effected by Greencough too wasn't he?" The quiet mew of Emberpaw sturred her focus and she turned to look at the white and orange tom just enough to see Flamejaw thump the back of his apprentices head.

Aspenstar wove quickly through the joined Clans and lept upward his body tensing as he heaved himself upward with slight difficulty, Flowerfoot stood at the base observing his father before sitting his large tail sweeping the ground as the leaders alligned in order to begin the gathering.

The loud yowl of Jaggedstar the youngest of fhe leaders,"The time of peace has arrived and we will gather beneath our ancestors in order to share as one for one night!" His pelt gleamed like fire in the bands of moonlight,"I shall begin," with the approval of the more elder leaders he began to speak,"StormClan has been graced by StarClan and have been given prey filled hunting grounds and warmth in our nests, We are joined by our new apprentice, Emberpaw who is mentored by Flamejaw, StormClan has none else to share." He sat as the handfull of Clan cats called the young apprentice's name. Riverpaw turned ans chuckled to see the pride radiating off of the white and orange tabby tom.

Riverpaw missed the typical anouncements of Timberstar but took notice of the sad ripple that ran off of Aspenstar as he began to speak, he cleared his throat and spoke his voice raspy and croaky though the gentle tom smiled,"RangeClan has been delt the difficult hand of the mountains chill and and delt with fair sickness, though with the help of Brackentail and Violetberry along with helpful herbs from MossClan which we thank fully, we have healed back to our strongest." He smiled darkness clouding his vision his eyes glassy and pained as he finished and sat. The quiet from the leaders allowed for the Clans to speak once more.

Riverpaw noticed Hawkflame as the brown sleek tom wove forward remeeting with the two she-cat apprentices,"Is Aspenstar alright?" She mumbled with Applepaw nodding alongside her Hawkflame sighed and shook his head,"I donno, Cliffrunner is as hostile as ever but I can tell for sure he has been effected with the typical illness ya get from the cold." He butted Riverpaw on the shoulder and tapped Applepaw with his paw. Before lifting his head up to watch the moon,"Ya both go mingle, Jaggedstar will call us up in a bit." Applepaw thumped abruptly against Riverpaw's side,"C'mon c'mon c'mon! I wanna go see-"

"StormClan! To camp!" A loud yowl interupted the brownish she-cat who frowned grumpily.

Applepaw huffed,"Fine! Lets go home!"

"Aww come on Applepaw I'll catch you a thrush if it will make you feel better~." The brown she-cat jolted to look at Riverpaw her green eyes sparkling wirh excitement. I guess that's a yes.
