Ship it!

What made you ship it? It's always fanart by other people. In this case *spoiler alert* it's a very nice development of their relationship in an after canon setting, that goes hand in hand with character development of the two.

What are your favorite things about the ship? I get to see the gentle side of Sanemi, and also Giyuu being able to open up and get close to someone. Giyuu can be as awkward as ever and Sanemi will go from exasperated to find it endearing. They can be so soft and funny.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? I wouldn't know what are the popular opinions... I guess my unpopular opinion is that I don't think Sanemi would be rude to his partner (whether it's Giyuu or someone else, I just can't see it).

What made you ship it? Again, probably someone posted some cute fanart.

What are your favorite things about the ship? The whole water-fire theme, opposites attract. I feel like Rengoku could force his way into Giyuu's heart without even realizing it. It's also cute to think of a partially deaf Rengoku and a Giyuu who talks very softly.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? I haven't seen many rengiyuu opinions around, I feel like it's not really a popular ship. So my unpopular opinion it's that it's a good and underrated ship haha

Who all works there?

Is one of them a student or is this their full time gig? Do they both there, or is one a customer? Does one or both of them hate coffee period? Does one or both of them love coffee just a tad too much? What are some favorite drinks they make or like to drink themselves? Is it a meet cute or meet scalding hot as coffee splatters across someone?

A barista/coffeeshop au, huh? Well, let's just see then....

I think it would be fun for both of them to be shop employees. Ichigo is a part-time employee, full-time student working his way through university. Grimmjow is a full-time employee, with the most seniority of all of them despite only being a couple years older than Ichigo. See, Grimmjow goes way back with the owner of the coffeeshop (naturally, it's Kisuke), back to when he was a troubled teen couch-surfing to get away from a bad home situation. (you know I have to add a little angst) Kisuke was the one to give him a job and actually keep Grimmjow out of trouble...for the most part.

When he starts working with Kurosaki? Oh, Grimmjow is annoyed. Ichigo is everything he wanted to be and simultaneously everything he hates. Ichigo has siblings that love him, a father who treats him with love and respect, a plethora of friends, and also incredibly strong. This grates on Grimmjow. He hates it. Despises Ichigo. Grimmjow's biggest confidence came from his strength, which he believed was because of his harsh life. A way to counter his trauma; believe that he wouldn't have gotten his strength if he didn't go through that. And now, here's this orange-haired idiot who is almost as strong and fast and resilient as Grimmjow himself, and he didn't have to suffer for it? Oh he hates him.

Except over time he starts to realize he kind of enjoys their banter. And Ichigo is actually kind of nice. And caring. And Grimmjow kind of likes the way Ichigo organizes things behind the counter, because IT MAKES SENSE WHEN YOU DO IT THAT WAY, ULQUIORRA (hc that he hates opening after Ulquiorra closes). And he thinks, well damn, maybe this guy isn't that bad. And then...and then the feelings grow. And Grimmjow goes 'oh shit'. And all the ground they made to approach a tentative friendship is shattered as he freaks out. They go back to fighting and arguing and it becomes nearly unbearable to have them work together. Until one night, they are both closing. And it all comes to a head...leading to a fiery fight followed by a...spicy...make out session. mwahahahahaha.

I would think Grimmjow doesn't really like coffee all that much. He drinks it once in a while, but not that often. Ichigo? He can't get enough of it. He's working so hard at his job and school and trying to carve out time with friends. He's got a caffeine addiction, but he also never looks fully awake either. Boy is running on fumes. Grimmjow is gonna have to fix that.

Grimmjow hates making anything fancier than a simple iced coffee. Ichigo can make just about anything. In fact, he does. More than once, even, Grimmjow has had to remove the coffee cup from Ichigo's hands because Ichigo is on break and wanted a drink to "wake up"; and Grimmjow witnessed him dump an ungodly amount of sugar into 16 shots of espresso. (Grimm. Save your boy.)

Hmmm, that's what I can think of! What about you? Who would you assign what roles? Would you add any more angst? Do they get a super happy ending to make up for all the fighting? How many times does Kisuke have to kick them out of the back for getting hot and heavy in the breakroom? 😏😏😏

This one came into being because I, in my infinite wisdom, idly wondered if I'd be able to write femlash without risking triggers now that top surgery has eased the worst of my dysphoria, and my cesspit of a brain answered very loudly with "Gojou single-handedly turns Yuuji from an ass woman to a tit woman."

CW: teacher/student, adult/minor, genderbending of the cisswap variety, gratuitous use of the word tits

This is a slightly cleaned-up version of my initial notes:

Subvert the A-cup angst trope. Yuuji is staring at Gojou's tits (unconsciously), and Gojou goes "Don't worry, Yuuji, some girls are late bloomers." Gestures at Yuuji's chest. "These might surprise you one day." Wink wink nudge nudge. Yuuji, too startled to lie or hedge, blurts out that she's fine with her tits. Immediately clamps up and expects Gojou to disbelieve her the way girls at school usually did when this came up. But Gojou leans in and says, "Oh, so you just like looking then?" Yuuji blushing and denying it (failing to be convincing). Her control over the doll slips but Gojou deactivates it. Says she understands, they are nice, aren't they? Tells Yuuji to come closer and hugs her, Yuuji's face between Gojou's tits, and Gojou is crooning something like "It feels comforting, doesn't it?" but Yuuji's brain is just going TITS TITS TITS on repeat.

This one's alpha!Yuuji/beta!Nanami/omega!Gojou. Most of the focus will be Nanami/Yuuji, I think, because this is Nanami PoV, but a fair bit of Nanami/Gojou/Yuuji and Gojou/Yuuji will also be there. I'll copy over the first part of what I typed up for Hymn; it's more coherent than my for-self notes usually are.

Nanami calling Gojou for damage control when Yuuji goes into rut after the Mahito mess because the kid's supposed to be dead and Shouko's left for an emergency in Kyoto and there's literally no one else to call, but Gojou still isn't in the country, so it's just Nanami who has to deal with a teenage alpha in his first rut. And pre-rut, Yuuji's mostly just miserable, and Nanami basically treats him like he's got the flu, but half a day later, it's a whole different beast, which Nanami finds out the hard way when he hears Yuuji groan and rushes in to find him jerking his dick harsh enough that it hurts even looking at him, and now he's a miserable, desperate mess, and Nanami, in a fit of temporary insanity, "helps out." Which escalates to one very long bout of insanity because it's not like any rutting alpha will willingly stop once they've got hold of a warm, wet hole, and Nanami keeps telling himself he'll knock Yuuji out or something after the next round—then the next round, then the next round. And he doesn't, even when it starts to hurt, even when his entire body starts feeling like one overexposed nerve. Yuuji's just so needy and an unholy mix of pitiful and cute about it, and Nanami keeps discovering softer spots in the soft spot he's developed for Yuuji. Maybe he even tells himself it's payback for Yuuji saving his life—least he could do etc. Next thing he knows, he's falling asleep on a knot— —and waking up to a very amused Gojou Satoru who's decided to let himself in when no one answered after one(1) knock, as one does.

I feel like this is a good song for a Soul that’s about to turn into a Hollow. They’re too attached to someone in the Living World, so they’re hanging around, and sad that their object of obsession seems to be moving on (eg Sora). I know the line is “I’m giving up on all my demons” but I think that is probably when there’s a real issue. Ignoring the problem isn’t going to make it go away! And the denial just pushes a Soul further down the line towards becoming a Hollow. 💀

mmmm, if I like a movie I'm much more likely to watch it again. but I read A LOT of books when I was in high school (I was at the library instead of partying 😅) and I'm sure I've loved a lot of them that I'll never read again...mainly because I don't remember all the titles!!! 😂 but I suppose the one that stands out to me is the twilight series. the ending kinda ruined it for me, and while I loved reading it as a high schooler, adult me will never touch it again 🙃

the first thing that pops in my mind is getting married 🤣 idk if that really counts as mundane tho! I suppose something actually mundane would be planting flowers in a garden that I OWN. I'm currently in an apartment with a tiny patio area, and the property management takes care of lawn care. so while I do have some flowers by my patio, they are not really MINE 🥲 so essentially, homeownership 😅

Singing. Always singing. Music is fantastic, and singing has a special place in my heart. I will always sing.

I express myself by singing along to music, singing whatever is stuck in my head, singing with friend, etc. I love singing with lots of emotion in my voice, so once I've learned the words I will put as much effort into the different dynamics of the song as I can (p, f, ff, rit., etc, you know the drill, my musical friend!)

Taro: if someone called you right now to catch up, what’re the things you’d tell them about?

Probably my writing projects (though which ones I talk about depends on who they are lol). Work; I've been struggling a lot lately and I am looking at different positions to apply for. Also, I joined a choir (though I wish the music wasn't so religious honestly, but oh well. Sometimes you gotta settle in some regards...).

I need to like or at least be interested/invested in all parties of a ship for me to care about it, and Mayuri does nothing for me.

What would have made you like it?

If I had more of an interest in Mayuri, perhaps? But then, I'm pretty picky about shipping in general, so it's likely nothing would have worked.

Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?

Kisuke's interactions with Mayuri are fairly entertaining. And I've read and enjoyed a couple of fics with this ship (in addition to Ichigo/Kisuke, which is why I found/read them to begin with).

It's not that I actively ship it, more that you put the character combination in my head, and I went "Oh, that'd be cute!" 😂

What are your favorite things about the ship?

I think they'd be a chill, cute couple. I really enjoy how Chad is this steady, kind, good guy, and Uryū's a fun mix of hotheaded and stoic. They also clearly care for each other, and friends-to-lovers, while not my preferred dynamic, tends to be pretty sweet.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

I don't know anyone's opinions on this ship to even know what's popular and what's not. And well, I don't have enough opinions to use those labels anyway.
