To whom would you have personally voted for in each category?
I shouldn't do this, but I'll answer because my picks are pretty similar to the winners hahaha
Best Queen Hair: Easy. Letizia is just the queen of everyday hair. Since the pandemic she hasn't played as much with her hairstyles, but she does have great updos at important events, and last year she gave us great hair moments like the amazing bun at the national day parade/reception.
Best Queen Accessories: Mathilde. I really love her hats and how her hair is 546546546% better when wearing them. In 2022 there were two hair moments that I loved: during the greek state visit with the pink hat and in the last day of the lithuanian state visit with the orange hat. ♥
Best Queen Tiara: Máxima. She does tiara hair that rivals the swedes. Her updo at the german state visit (if I remember correctly) was pure perfection. But I gotta say that I do love Silvia's tiara hair and her updo during the dutch state visit would've made me think twice (or more) my choice.
Best Princess Hair: Kate. Honestly, my usual fave in this category is Mary, but this past year it was a bit underwhelming and Kate during the Caribbean tour served us looks.
Best Princess Accessories: Victoria. This time Kate (again) would've make me rethink my choice because of the ascot look (while polka dot dress and brown hat with white flowers) ♥ BUT Victoria is Victoria. She knows what works for her and she just elevates her usual hair when wearing a hair accessory.
Best Princess Tiara: Do I have to say anything? Victoria. Hands down. No explanation needed.
Best Young Princess: By now I think you all know that I love braids. Braided hair, braided buns, braids braids and more braids. So Leonor is my winner, she has great hair like her mother (what we call in Spain "una buena mata de pelo") and she's playful with it and youthful and I just love every hairstyle and I can't wait to see how's her tiara hair game. Also, the braid during the summer photoshoot is chef's kiss.
I think I wrote too much for a really short question hahaha Hope that's what you wanted me to answer.

final oscar predictions
95th Academy Awards will happen on March 12th, so here are my unnecessarily detailed predictions for winners in the above-the-line categories, in the order of likelihood, based on the precursors, analysis, hopediction, and pure vibes:
Best Original Screenplay
1. Everything Everywhere All at Once
2. Tar
3. The Banshees of Inisherin
4. The Fabelmans
5. Triangle of Sadness
Early in the season many people thought that EEAAO would be too weird and comedic for the relatively conservative Academy voters but by now it’s clear that it was an unnecessary worry and this movie is pretty much universally loved. It’s going to win at minimum 4 awards of the 11 it’s nominated for and might do a full sweep that is rare with oscars nowadays. I’ve heard many voters also really, really liked Tar so i think it’s the second competitor.
Best Adapted Screenplay
1. All Quiet on the Western Front
2. Women Talking
3. Top Gun: Maverick
4. Glass Onion
5. Living
There is apparently a lot of support for Women Talking among the voters but i’m slightly leaning toward AQotWF based mostly just on hunch and also just because of personal bias because i didn’t like Women Talking myself lol.
Best Director
1. Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (EEAAO)
2. Martin McDonagh (The Banshees of Inisherin)
3. Todd Field (Tar)
4. Steven Spielberg (The Fabelmans)
5. Ruben Ostlund (Triangle of Sadness)
The Daniels won the top prize at the DGA awards which is historically a very strong predictor for the Best Director at Oscars. Everyone else except Ostlund still has a chance though.
Best Actor
1. Austin Butler (Elvis)
2. Brendan Fraser (The Whale)
3. Colin Farrell (The Banshees of Inisherin)
4. Bill Nighy (Living)
5. Paul Mescal (Aftersun)
My two personal favorites, Farrell and Mescal, are unlikely to win because their performances were very subtle and internal and the Academy tends to think “best acting” means “most acting”. The precursors and the Academy’s well-known biopic obsession point toward Butler likely being the winner, but Fraser is beloved and has a great comeback narrative which could help him.
Best Actress
1. Michelle Yeoh (EEAAO)
2. Cate Blanchett (Tar)
3. Andrea Riseborough (To Leslie)
4. Michelle Williams (The Fabelmans)
5. Ana de Armas (Blonde)
This is going to be between Blanchett and Yeoh, whose performances are so above the rest of the competition it’s not even funny. I would say it’s genuinely 50/50 coin toss. I’m putting Yeoh first because i personally want her to win, Blanchett gave arguably one of the best performances of her career but she already has two oscars and will probably get more in the future. Yeoh doesn’t have similar opportunities. I’m just praying there won’t be Riseborough upset...
Best Supporting Actor
1. Ke Huy Quan (EEAAO)
2. Barry Keoghan (The Banshees of Inisherin)
3. Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin)
4. Brian Tyree Henry (Causeway)
5. Judd Hirsch (The Fabelmans)
Quan is practically 100% locked. He’s been absolutely steamrolling it on unprecedented level through the whole award season. If anyone else wins i’ll eat my hat.
Best Supporting Actress
1. Jamie Lee Curtis (EEAAO)
2. Kerry Condon (The Banshees of Inisherin)
3. Angela Bassett (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever)
4. Hong Chau (The Whale)
5. Stephanie Hsu (EEAAO)
The most difficult category to predict. I could see any one of this women winning - except my and many other’s favorite, Hsu. It’s unfortunately clear she’s an afterthought for the Academy voters, if even that. Whether it’s racism or their bias against young and new actors they don’t seem to think much about her performance. I’m leaning towards JLC over Condon and Bassett. She’s a well-established and beloved actress in a beloved movie, she has the narrative, she won the SAG, she’s been campaigning like crazy, and the voters seem to REALLY love her performance. I know it will be absolute shitstorm if she wins. I actually really liked her performance in EEAAO, i think it had a lot of charm and heart, was transformative without prosthetics, and it was also genuinely supporting performance when lots of supporting nominations are nowadays actually co-leads through category fraud. It’s just that i liked Hsu’s performance even more, and the Academy completely ignoring her in favor of JLCn makes it very blatant that they favor white and well-connected actors.
Best Picture
1. Everything Everywhere All at Once
2. The Banshees of Inisherin
3. Top Gun: Maverick
4. Tar
5. All Quiet on the Western Front
6. Elvis
7. Avatar: The Way of the Water
8. The Fabelmans
9. Women Talking
10. Triangle of Sadness
EEAAO has beat all the odds and become the very likely winner after winning DGA, PGA and SAG. The only others i think have a legit chance are Banshees, Top Gun and Tar. The Fabelmans shows up high in many lists but to me it seems clear it doesn’t have much passion. Elvis and Avatar are crowdpleasers but may not appeal to more ‘highbrow’ voters. AQotWF did well at BAFTAs but american voters are not as enthusiastic. EEAAO it is.

EDITED TO ADD: St. Louis University posted the 2023 St. Louis Literary Award ceremony; Neil’s talk starts about 40 minutes in. (Thanks DanGuyF)
Tumblr media
In an interview before the event [Neil] Gaiman said that when he started writing comics, he “wasn’t even in the gutter.”
He said: “I used to look up and admire the people in the gutter. The science-fiction people were in the gutter, the children’s literature people were in the gutter, too, and I was so far down, I was in the storm drain.”
Great writeup by Jane Henderson from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch sharing highlights of Neil’s talk at the St. Louis Literary Award!

Really enjoyed voting for each category, thanks for making <3 Some of my votes won so i'm super pleased😌
Hi anon!
Thank you for participating! Really!
Tumblr media
We're still post-pandemic and there are categories like the tiara ones that had less nominees than other years, so hopefully next year (if I can do them) the awards feature more amazing hair.
I'm glad that some of your votes won! The awards were made to have fun in this fandom that sometimes is too negative (specially these past years), so I'm happy that you enjoyed them ♥

Everything Everywhere All at Once winning at PGAs makes it seem increasingly likely it’s going to win the Best Picture at Oscars. Really exciting, it would be one of the most atypical oscar winners of all time!

Acceptance Speech for BEST DRAMATIC PERFORMANCE - DAVID TENNANT - LITVINENKO
David: Hello. Welcome to backstage at the Domar Warehouse. I just stepped out of rehearsals for a second because I want to say thank you so much for this award. Litvinenko was such a very special project to be part of. It meant so much to all of us who were involved in telling Sasha Litvinenko's story. It wasn't just another job. We were telling the story of an extraordinary man and his extraordinary family. It was an honour to portray him. And it means so much to have it recognized in this way. Marina Litvinenko and Anatoly, her son, were extraordinary human beings to get to know. And to be entrusted with their story is something that I will be forever proud of. So this means a great deal. So thank you to everyone who voted and thank you to I Talk Telly. I really appreciate it. Thank you so much.
We don't have an acceptance speech but Good Omens won in the BEST RETURNING DRAMA category! :)
