Note
Could you do a story where you and Austin are first time parents and y/n leaves Austin alone with the baby for the first time and she/he won’t stop crying and Austin is so stressed and he starts crying because he feels he can’t do it and maybe he starts singing to the baby (I can’t help falling in love with you or any song you choose) and he/she calms down and you come in and see him singing and wiping his tears.
I love your writing and you totally don’t have to write it but I just want to ask cause I love your work ❤️❤️❤️
Hey anno I wanted to thank you for this request. And I have decided to write the fanfic. And I can’t wait to share it with everyone. And thanks for loving my work anno. and I really wanted to write this request when I first read it. And request are open as always.
  Parents
Warning: Kissing and spelling mistakes.
You and Austin have just had your first child. And today is the first time you are leaving Austin alone with your new born son. You were nervous about leaving Austin alone to take care of your son. But Austin had told you everything will be fine. “Austin you know everything you have to do right? You know when to feed him and to pour him down for his nap. And his bedtime?” I am questioning as I am ready to leave the house. “ Yes I know what to do y/n don’t worry. Everything will be fine.” Austin said in a reassurance to me. “ Okay I will see the two of you when I get back home.” I said and gave Austin a quick goodbye kiss on his lips and leave and get into my car.
Austin pov
My girlfriend as just left to have her first girls night since out son was born. And I am taking care of him all alone for the first time. And so far everything is going good. But as time goes by it was time to get this little man to sleep. Everything is ready for him to go to sleep, I lay him down turned on the night light. But he won’t go to sleep and started to cry. I am trying everything to get my son to stop crying and go to sleep. My stress level is getting so much I started to cry, I am feeling like I can’t do this without my girlfriend. As I am crying and feeling very stress with my son crying, the idea pops up that maybe singing will help him go to sleep. So I started to sing Elvis Presley song ‘I can’t help falling in love with you’ and continue to sing, and as I continue to sing. I soon see y/n standing next to me and she is wiping my tears away. And soon after me and y/n see our son is fast asleep. And it was our turn to just spend some time.
“You did good Austin. Everyone feels stressed as new parents even I do.” Y/n told me. “This is going to be a journey for the both of us.” I told her.
(PS: sorry this is a short fanfic.)
Thanks for reading. And hope you enjoy this fanfic.
🩷😃👍🏻🖤🌸

people Luci Butler turns three today so we must not forget to credit her mother (and best friend) in a world where it seems moms get no recognition for being superhuman.

user12 imagine using a 3 year olds bday to make some political womens movement statement. mom’s get plenty of recognition.
butlerfamupdates I actually applaud People Magazine for this. All day magazine’s have posted Austin’s cutest moments with Luci and talked about what a wonderful Dad he is - which no one would ever doubt to think he is - but Luci’s mom is very much present as well and deserves love too. Luci loves both her parents. It’s normal for a kid to have favorites, it doesn’t make the other parent ‘bad.’
ccgfan Y/N and Luci sharing their love for open water together and creating sea shell necklaces i cry

Pour it out | a.b
pairing: husband!austin x wife!reader
warnings: none

summary: At Jimmy fallon's infamous tonight show, a lot of interesting and funny answers get told, but not all the questions.

“Okay, so this is how it works!” Jimmy suddenly spoke up as soon as the audience stopped clapping for you. After a few seconds of admiring the amount of people that came to see you tonight, you looked at jimmy standing right across your standing figure.
He went on explaining the game, “Each shot sits on a coaster, which has a personal question written on it, okay?” you nodded, raising your eyebrows while you tried to figure what´s in these little shots.
“You will read the question silently but you will give your answer out loud.” he said. “And then you have to choose whether to share what the question was or you can take the shot and keep it a secret.” he finished off, eyes now on you instead of the camera which is showing all of this on live television.
You nodded and smiled before jimmy spoke up again, “You must reveal at least one question during the course of the game.”
“Oh okay, got it.” you told him.
“So, tonight America is finally gonna get all the answers from me and y/n Butler, just not all the questions.” He laughed before the audience and you joined his tiny fit of laughter. “You ready Mrs. Butler?” he asked you with a grin as he turned his body towards his line of small shots.
“I am ready Mr. Fallon!” clapping your hands together as you took a good look at your line of shots, furrowing your brows at the colours of them.
“Alright y/n, you go first.” jimmy told you before you grabbed the round card made out of wood from beneath your shot, telling the audience and jimmy the name of the shot.
You silently read the question in your head, furrowing your brows as a smile crept up on your face, jimmy and the audience already chuckling at your reaction to the question.
“Alright, So I’ll just answer it.” You asked the host with a smile. Jimmy immediately nodded his head, “exactly.” You bit your lip before answering the question that everybody was desperate to know,
“Vanessa Hudgens.”
Some people in the audience gasped as you tried to make out what jimmy was thinking about right now.
“Like in THE Vanessa hudgens, your husband’s ex girlfriend?” He quietly asked you, probably not a hundred percent sure if you are comfortable talking about this on live television.
After putting the wooden card back down onto the small table, you nodded, “yep.”
He thought about it for a few more seconds before he spoke up, “Are you gonna take the shot?” Pointing his pointer finger at your small, red shot.
“I feel like I can actually reveal the question.” You said right before the audience started cheering, jimmy raised his brows.
“Really?”
“Yeah.” You told him as you picked the wooden card back up and told everybody your question.
“Which one of Austin’s exes do you like the most?”
The audience clapped while jimmy smiled and nodded along.
“Alright! My turn.” He claimed loudly as he picked his card up and answered,
“Michael Jordan.”
You furrowed your brows before you started to laugh, “what?” You asked him as the audience laughed along.
“Okay, look! I’m gonna do it just like you and reveal the question.” Jimmy loudly told everybody with a smile, picking his wooden card back up and reading the question, this time, out loud,
“Who was your worst kiss.” And you immediately started to laugh, just like the audience — clapping your hands together while jimmy desperately tried to explain everything.
“So! I met Michael Jordan on this charity event a few years ago and we greeted each other, like shaking our hands and then leaned in to kiss each other on the cheek.” Jimmy started to explain his answer while you tried to hide your laugh, covering your mouth with your hands.
“And I leaned in to kiss his left cheek but he leaned in to kiss my right cheek and then it… happened, yeah.” Jimmy finished with a chuckle, realising that this story is really weird.
After your small laughing fit, you picked your second card up, biting your lip as your eyes ran over the words writing on the small, hard wood.
“You have reveal at least one of these-, Oh wait, no! You’ve already revealed the first one so you don’t have to reveal that one anymore but… I would.” He said, shrugging his shoulders as the audience laughed along.
“I-, oh no, no, no, absolutely not! I cannot reveal this question.” You quickly told him, wiggling your pointer fingers from side to side as you did so.
“You cannot?” Jimmy gasped dramatically. You shook your head,
“No, definitely not but I can tell you the answer tho and the answer to this question is — yes, '68 comeback special suit.” You proudly teased the crowd and Jimmy.
“'68 Comeback special suit… like, the leather suit that Austin wore on the set of Elvis?” He asked you with a grin but you only shrugged with your shoulders before you drowned the blue shot.
“Alright!” Jimmy yelled through the big studio while the audience clapped, “I guess y/n really doesn’t wanna reveal the question.” He exclaimed before he picked his second card up and answered after everybody stopped clapping,
“Howard stern's house.” He muttered. With an open mouth, you tilted your head to the side but weren’t able to ask the host anything before he already picked his tiny shot up and also threw it down his throat.
“What?” You responded as the audience clapped once again. Jimmy sighed and put his shot glass down again before he looked up at you,
“You don’t wanna know, believe me.” Everybody laughed at Jimmy's statement before he spoke up again,
“Okay, last shot, it’s your turn y/n.” He stated before you picked your last wooden card up and read the question silently.
You smiled brightly, chuckling before you answered your question.
“Okay, well… I would say at least five times a week.” you gulped as jimmy smirked in your direction, probably already having a tiny clue about what your question could be.
He chuckled in a loud tone, “And what would Austin say?” The host teased you before the crown started to clap again.
You turned around and tried to hide your smile, biting your lip as you did so before you put the card down and quickly grabbed the last shot. Jimmy quickly reacted,
“Oh no, please tell us y/n!” He laughed but you only shook your head and put the shot glass back down onto the small table.
“Never.” You answered in a quiet tone, smirking as you did so.
You were pretty sure that most people already knew what question you got based on your answer but you still couldn’t say it.
Like Jimmy said, America’s gonna get all the answer's but not all the questions.

lift a finger (austin butler)
summary: in which you're heavily pregnant on the set of elvis and austin is set on making sure you the most comfortable you can be
ask / prompt : Hi! Can you please do one where the reader is pregnant and Austin is just super overprotective and cute! You choose if you want to include the birth and make it extremely fluffy. I just thought this would be amazing.
authors note / warnings: mentions of pregnancy and vomiting! I chose not to put the birth and labour in because I have another piece planned for my inez and austin series coming soon!! we love dad!austin here <3
────── ∘◦❀◦∘
Nearing the end of your pregnancy, you thought you had faced the worst of it and it would be smooth sailing from here on out. Boy were you wrong.
It was hard being pregnant and married to an actor, the busy schedules and flying from location to location was hard to keep up with, but when you’re married to the man portraying Elvis Presley.. that’s a whole other story.
Austin constantly doted on you whenever he was given the opportunity, but since you were often at home whilst he was shooting- you never really gave him the chance. But since you were met with braxton hicks last week, your doctor has recommended always being in someone’s company; Austin made sure he was that someone.
If Austin was filming a scene in the hot sun, you were sitting under a sunshade in his chair. If the call time was until eleven o’clock at night, you were asleep nearby. Austin made sure he always had you close and somewhere that he could see you.
Usually, you wouldn’t complain about getting to see Austin work. Watching him in his element was truly something special, but over the last few days you’ve just wanted to lounge around in bed and maybe finish the nursery. But here you were, sat next to a bail of hay nearing nine pm as Austin and Tom filmed the carnival scenes.
“How you feeling, mamas?” Austin looked just delicious walking over to you in his black lace shirt. Reminded you of how you got pregnant in the first place. “You’re glowing,” He complimented you.
“I don’t feel like I’m glowing,” You admitted to him. It was a warm summer night in Queensland, the humidity was not your friend. Being in the northern parts of Australia came with its perks, the heat wasn’t one of them- especially when you’re eight months pregnant. “Your child has been kicking me all day,”
“My child, huh?” Austin laughed, he almost seemed offended. “How’s your stomach? Still feelin’ sick?”
“I don’t know if I’m just nauseous because I’m pregnant or because they’re moving so much,” You rubbed your hand over your belly, “But I’m starting not to care,”
“Did you want to head back to the trailer? Have you got water?” Austin looked around, “I asked to get you water like three takes ago,” Austin’s voice became frustrated when he noticed you only had your bag next to you, no water in sight.
“Hey, it’s okay! These people are here for you, not me,” You reminded him, “I don’t need water, I’m fine,” You reached for Austin’s hand the best you could and placed it on top of your belly. Like your baby knew that their daddy was there, a strong kick made you jolt in your seat.
“Hey!” Austin laughed, “You should be asleep, little miss,”
“We don’t even know if it’s a girl yet,” It was true, your gender reveal idea was canned as soon as filming picked up. Everyone that you really wanted to attend was in a different country anyway, so there really wasn’t much of a point. That and Austin loved surprises, but he was set on your baby being a little girl.
“Oh, she’s a girl,” Austin crouched down, giving your belly a kiss, “Ain’t that right, Pres?” Austin had been adamant that you were going to name your child Presley. She was made on set baby, only fair we name him after the man who brought us here, he would argue. You weren’t letting that happen.
Austin Butler, the man who played Elvis Presley named his daughter after him? You could see the headlines now.
“We’re not calling her Presley!” You tilted his chin up to look at you.
Austin’s face broke out in a cheeky grin as he stood back up, “You said she’s a girl,” He sang. As Baz called him back over to reshoot the scene, Austin danced away from you joking whilst softly chanting ‘girl, girl, girl’. You shook your head at him and laughed.
Soon, Baz had Austin film some solo shots at the carnival, making use of the set whilst they were here. Whilst Austin was busy shooting, Tom soon made his way over to you.
“Y/N, how are you?” He asked. Tom might have been one of the most genuine men you had ever met. Soft spoken and kind, he had the ability to make anyone feel safe and calm.
“I’m tired,” You admitted to him, “Probably not as tired as you are in that costume,” Tom looked barely anything like himself, it was incredible really.
“You get used to it,” He chuckled, taking a seat down in the chair next to yours, “How much longer now?” He asked.
“Three weeks,” Your eyes widened, your heart would always race whenever you admitted it out loud. Soon, you and Austin would no longer be a family of two- forever three of you.
“Wow!” He marvelled, “Not long then. The first one is always an adventure,”
“She’s been a pretty big adventure,” You laughed, patting your belly, “I’ll tell you that,” You felt a kick back in response.
“So you’re having a girl! How exciting,” Tom sat forwards the best he could, he was always so attentive in any conversation. “My second child was a girl, I love being her dad- Austin’s gonna love it too,”
“Well, we don’t know if it’s a girl, Austin just thinks it is,” You told him. Tom watched as you looked across the carnival and over at Austin, he could see the admiration in your eyes for him. Reminded him of his wife and himself. “We don’t even have a name yet,”
“Well what names do you like?” He asked.
You thought to yourself for a second, “I like Harper for a girl, Austin doesn’t like it though,” You laughed, “He says it doesn’t ‘work’”
“You’ll know when you find the right name,” Tom admitted, “You’ll understand what he means when he says ‘it works’, I promise you that,” He laughed.
“Thank you, Tom” You turned back to look at him. After a few more minutes of conversation, Baz called Tom back for another couple scenes and you were sat alone once more. Well, not completely alone- and your baby was definitely trying to remind you of that.
The longer that you sat, the more sick you began to feel. Your stomach felt like it was cramping and turning at the same time. You tried some deep breaths to calm yourself down, but you couldn’t.
Austin’s manager noticed that you weren’t feeling well, once you had to rest your head in your hands.
“Y/N, you okay?” James leant down and spoke with a quiet voice, knowing you weren’t someone who wanted the attention on themselves.
You shook your head and swallowed the lump in your throat. “I think I’m gonna be sick,”
James, with a gentle hand on your back, lead you back to Austin’s trailer and helped you into the bathroom. It was hard for you to get close to the ground these days, but at that moment- your body knew you needed to.
You threw up your dinner, your throat burned as you dry heaved over the toilet. James was kind enough to hold your hair back for you. After a few minutes, you were rested against the wall of Austin’s bathroom, James passing you a bottle of water from the miniature fridge. You thanked him softly and apologised to him.
James asked if you would be okay as you begged him to go back to work, not needing people to watch over you. You were pregnant, not helpless. So James went back to set as you sat there taking slow sips of your water.
As Baz yelled cut and announced that they were now wrapped for the night, Austin was relieved that he could now spend the rest of his night with his wife and their baby. But as he looked over to where she was supposed to be, he found his chair empty.
He should’ve noticed you were gone. Austin mentally cursed himself, always his own biggest critic. He was too invested in filming the scene he could spare a single glance over at you, he was so stupid, he thought to himself.
“James!” Austin called over to his manager. James looked nervous as he rushed over to Austin.
“I’ve just come from the trailers,” James explained, Austin noticed his uneasy nature, “Y/N has been sick, so I’ve left her in there to rest,”
“Shit!” Austin sighed, already leaving the conversation once he heard you weren’t well, “Why don’t people come and tell me these things!” He shouted back at James, “She’s pregnant!”
Austin wasn’t an angry person, he wasn’t someone to express his feelings of frustration. Rather keep them to himself and write them down in his journal later. But when it came to you and his baby, it was a different story.
Austin was overcome with anger when he saw you sitting on the bathroom floor, struggling to get back up. “Mamas, what are you doin’ down there?” Even when upset, the Elvis drawl stayed with Austin. He rushed over to you and put an arm underneath you, ready to help you to your feet.
“I was sick, I’m just trying to get up and brush my teeth,” You explained to Austin. As soon as you were back on your feet, your ankles ached once more- oh they joys of motherhood.
“Sick? How bad?” Austin put his hand to your forehead, trying to feel for a fever, “You need me to get the doctor? She’s probably not left yet-“
“Austin,” You cupped his face with your hands, “I’m okay,”
He seemed to calm down visibly in your embrace. Austin leant into your soft touch. “Promise me you’re okay?”
“I promise! I’m just pregnant, pregnant people throw up” You talked slower to try and bring Austin back down to earth. You took a few breaths with Austin before letting go of his face, going to grab your toothbrush from the bench.
“No,” Austin beat you to it, “You’re not allowed to lift a finger for the rest of the night, you’re on my time now,”
You rolled your eyes at him, taking your toothbrush back. “Aren’t you on the clock?”
“As of five minutes ago? No, no I’m not,” Austin smirked, “So, brush your teeth and get in bed,”
“Did you want to brush them for me?” You raised your eyebrows at him.
“Shh,” Austin grabbed your face softly and kissed your head, “Get brushing,”
Although Austin was doting and protective over you, you knew that Tom was right- Austin was going to be a great dad to your little girl.

It was physically painful to leave you and his newborn at home. It had been a month and a half of baby-bliss, and despite the fact that neither of you had gotten over five hours of sleep in weeks, part of him wished that it would never end. Austin had always known that he wanted to be a father, ever since he was a little boy. To say that his life now felt complete would be an understatement. Things felt perfect, and for the first time in his life, Austin was fully content. All good things must come to an end though, and so whenever his manager called him over the weekend to tell him about his upcoming interview, he wasn’t necessarily shocked- just disappointed. Leaving you, even if it was just for a few hours, seemed absolutely impossible. What if his son did something cute that he missed out on? What if the two of you fell asleep on the floor in the nursery again and he wasn’t there to take pictures of it? What if there was an emergency and you needed him? His protective instincts over you had always been pretty crazy, but now? He felt like he could lift a car if need be. Becoming a father had completely rewired his brain.
Austin was a nervous wreck as he walked out the front door, turning around to get one last look at you. “I’ll be home soon.” He assured you, watching as you smiled and nodded your head. “I know.” He started to make his way down the porch steps, stopping only to turn and face you once again. You had already started to close the front door. “Call me if you need anything, okay? I’ll have my ringer on the entire time.” He could hear you chuckle under your breath before you nodded your head, flashing him one last good look at the tiny bundle in your arms before shutting the door behind you. He groaned the entire way to the site. He just knew his son was doing something adorable without him there to see it. He could have thrown his phone the second that he checked it once he sat down in the makeup chair, seeing the pictures that you had already sent him. You had put the bear onesie on him- the one with the ears- and his heart nearly imploded.
“Do you want to see something cute?” He couldn’t help himself. He needed to get it off of chest now before he sat down for the actual interview. The makeup artist was patient enough with him to stop what she was doing, but was quick to grab his phone to get a better look once he showed her the pictures. Pride swelled in her chest as he watched her eyes widen, her pointer finger sliding from side to side as she went through each and every one you had sent. “Oh, he’s absolutely precious.” He took the phone from her whenever she handed it back. “Isn’t he? Look at this one,” He chuckled at the picture of him glaring at the camera, obviously very annoyed about you having the hood pulled up and over his little head. “This is my first time being away from them in a month.” he closed his eyes as she began brushing a sheer powder over his nose and forehead. She hummed as she closed the compact, taking a step back to get a better look at him. “Well you should be back with them in no time,” Once she had made sure that he looked matte enough for the bright camera lights she flashed him a kind smile. “When I had to leave my twins for the first time I thought that I was going to die. I understand how you feel completely.” He stood up from the chair, brushing out his light wash jeans before nervously running his thumb against his wedding ring. He twisted the gold band around and around his ring finger, taking a second to ground himself.
“So the new daddy finally leaves his cave.” Austin turned to face the source of the voice, wrinkling his nose at his manager’s teasing. The older woman walked up to him, giving him a tight hug. “Congratulations. y/n did absolutely phenomenal.” And god had you. For the first few weeks you had been horrified by the thought of unavoidable pain and had told him as well as your doctor that you would be having the baby in the hospital. You’d even gone as far as to have a consultation. As the months passed, so did your fear. Ever since you had first gotten pregnant you had gone a little crazy with making sure that everything was as clean and as safe as possible. You insisted on getting all of your produce from local farmers markets, made sure that next to nothing either of you ate came from a can, and threw anything away that might contain microplastics. When you had told Austin that you wanted to have an at home birth he had brushed it off as you just nesting. The weeks flew by, and your mind never changed. It wasn’t until the birthing tank was delivered to your house that it finally set in for him that you were really serious.
You delivered your son with absolutely no medication. Even the midwife was shocked by how well you handled everything.
Austin didn’t think it was possible for him to love you anymore than he already did, but the second he saw you holding his son? He knew for certain that he could never go even a second without you. He’d move heaven and earth for you. There was absolutely nothing that Austin wouldn’t do for you or provide for you. He reminded himself that this very reason was why he was at the interview in the first place.
“The ol’ lady did amazing.” He gushed, before he began to worry his bottom lip between his teeth. The faster he got this over with, the sooner he could be home with you. “Are they ready for me?” The woman nodded before ushering him through the hallway and into a tightly packed room.
The blue eyed man was familiar with the interviewer, and recognized her the second that he saw her. She was younger than he was, probably in her early twenties, and was most known amongst other actors for asking rather intrusive questions. Austin rolled his eyes, grabbing his manager by the arm and pulling her closer to his side. “Her? Really?” His manager’s eyebrows furrowed as she briefly made eye contact with the young woman across the room. “What’s wrong with her? I’ve heard she does great work.” She was quick to defend. Austin shook his head, leaning down closely to her ear so that he wasn’t overheard. “Did you see that interview she did with Tom Holland? If I were him, I would have stormed off camera.” The mousy haired brunette’s jaw dropped as she finally put two and two together. “I can see what I can do-” He cut her off by simply shaking his head, waving her off politely with his hand. It was too late now. He was already here, and the interviewer was staring at the two of them curiously now, no doubt wondering what they were whispering about.
He stalked over to the empty seat across from the young woman, being careful that his long legs didn’t get tangled up in any of the loose wires. “It’s nice to finally be able to meet you.” The woman reached a hand out, flashing him a bright white smile. He slowly returned the sentiment, extending his palm so that he could give her hand a quick shake.
After a few seconds of the crew moving the cameras around to get the best angle, the interviewer dropped her cue cards onto her lap, her lips pulling up into a dazzling smile. Austin shifted in his seat uncomfortably, dreading what was to come, but returned the smile nonetheless. “The Elvis biopic has finally made it to theaters after nearly three years of tireless work. I saw it with a few friends of mine the other night and was absolutely blown away by your performance.”
“Thank you so much. This has been such a rewarding experience, and it was an honor to work alongside Baz and Tom.” She nodded her head, her eyes flashing down to her lap for a second. It was obvious that she had some sort of an angle that she wanted to go with this interview- he just prayed that he had the patience for it. “The film was shot in Australia, so I know that you had to largely uproot a lot of your life in order to prepare. How hard was it to upkeep personal relationships during that time- especially with Covid.” Her perky voice was grating. He was functioning off of three hours of sleep, and he could already feel a headache coming on.
“Covid made everything a lot harder, but it wasn’t too difficult. I made sure to call my friends and family on a regular basis, so it wasn’t too bad. It was sad not being able to visit California as much as I would have liked to during that time, but it also gave me the opportunity to go more method with the role as well. Everyone’s reaction to the accent for the first couple of weeks was pretty funny. I wanted to make it sound as natural as possible though, so I kept up with it.” He smiled through the question, folding one leg over the other as he leaned his back against the folding chair.
“Your girlfriend went with you to Australia, right? I follow you both on your socials, and her pictures always make me smile.” His eye nearly twitched, but he schooled a sweet smile on his face. “Wife.” He corrected her gently. The woman’s eyes widened and she was quick to try and recover. “Wife, wife- right! Speaking of that, congratulations are in order.” You and Austin had thought about keeping the pregnancy as private as possible, but after the first few months the two of you were bursting at the seams. By the end of it all, it was all you two could really talk or post about. The same thing goes with all of your close friends and family. His best friend, Ashley Tisdale, had visited again last night and had posted at least ten pictures of the three of you on her Instagram story. You were both first time parents, and you wanted to get the full experience. Despite the fact that most of the people that messaged him to extend their love and excitement for him were strangers, it still felt great.
He was willing to talk about his son, as long as the questions stayed respectful. “Thank you,” He couldn’t wipe the excited smile off of his face, staring down at his hands for a few seconds before glancing back up at the interviewer. “We’re both over the moon. It’s been a huge change to our lives, but a good one.”
“Well I’ve seen a few pictures and he’s beautiful. He’s a perfect mix of the both of you. He’s got your forehead and nose.” A genuine laugh bubbled out of his throat, and the other woman seemed to feed off his excitement, happy that the interview was naturally progressing into something a little more feel-good than anybody was anticipating.
“That’s what I keep telling y/n! The second that he opened his eyes I thought I would die though. I have a feeling he’s going to look more like her as he gets older, so I’m enjoying him being my little twin while it lasts. She’s the most gorgeous person on the planet though, so I wouldn’t be too upset about it.” His tiny features had been a constant source of teasing over the last month. You claimed that your son looked more like you than he did him, but Austin begged to differ. He would be sure to gloat about this once he got back home to you.
“Was it hard juggling everything though? I mean. . . playing the leading role in such an important film all while your wife is pregnant must be stressful.” The young woman was beginning to grow on him. He usually didn’t answer questions this personal, but she had caught him during a time when he wanted to gush about his life. Would he regret saying so much later? Oh, definitely. For now though, he was content with bragging about you.
“I’m sure she was upset about the long days without me, especially during the earlier stages, but she never let it show. She can get rather nervous at times- really get in her own head about things- but she was great the entire time. Really, really great.”
“And hey- natural birth, right?”
He beamed, nodding his head quickly. “Natural birth. She’s an absolute god. I’ve heard about dads getting phantom pains, but I never really believed in any of it.” The young woman was already laughing, and Austin began chuckling right along with her, placing a hand against his stomach as he remembered how awful he had felt during the majority of the delivery. “Oh god, the sympathetic pregnancy symptoms were real for me.”
“Well I’m sure you guys must be good with just one child for now, right?” She threw her head back with laughter as he shook his head animatedly, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Us? No way. We want an entire Butler tribe. Our goal is to populate a small village.” He could see his manager covering her mouth to stifle her own laughter at his teasing.
“Well it was a delight to finally get to meet you. You guys need to see Austin Butler in the role of Elvis if you haven’t already. It’s in theaters everywhere, so make sure you get your tickets now. Seats are filling up fast.” Austin gave one final wave to the camera before the cameraman loudly called ‘cut’.
“Thank you for your time.” The interviewer shook his hand one last time before he walked over to his manager’s side. “See? Painless.” He hated to admit it, but she was right. He was in and out in just under an hour and a half, which was better than he could have hoped for. “I don’t have anything else scheduled, right?” He asked hopefully. The second that the woman shook her head he was practically jogging through the halls and out into the parking lot. He wanted to catch you before you put the baby down for his nap.
You were shocked when you heard the front door open, Austin’s voice calling up to you from the living room downstairs. “Baby one and baby two! I’m home!” You rolled your eyes, slowly making your way down the stairs. “I’ve been trying to get him to go to sleep for the last half hour, but he’s wired.” Austin was quick to take him off of your hands, giving his fuzzy head kiss after kiss. “Oh, I missed his smell.” With gentle hands Austin pulled his son away from his chest, holding the small infant out in front of him so that he could get a good look. You still had him bundled up in the onesie. Your husband was quick to look at you, his bottom lip jutting out in a small pout. “How can something be this cute? Hey buddy. Were you a good boy for mama while I was gone?” His constant baby talking made you chuckle. “You didn’t pull her hair, did you? We talked about that yesterday.”  The interview was posted the next day, the internet practically exploding with new hashtags, screen grabs, and reposted pictures of you and your small family. Austin spent the entire morning mumbling his apologies for being so personal in the interview, but you didn’t mind much. It felt good to know that everyone saw what a terrific father he was. What a terrific husband. “New daddy alert! Austin Butler gushes over son in latest interview.” You read one of the article titles out loud, hearing him groan from the other room. You scrolled through your phone for a couple more seconds before you found what you were looking for. “Austin Butler calls his wife a ‘god’ after the natural birth of his son.” You could hear your baby cooing from the other room. “I get it! I get it! You can stop with the news articles.” He called out over the sound of the running bath. “Daddy Austin Butler is a whole snack. Women are going crazy after the latest Elvis-” “Stop it, woman!”

It was no secret Austin wanted to be a father. After 4 years of marriage, and many more years before dating, the subject was brought up often by him. Whether it was a casual remark about how cute you would look pregnant or a detour into the baby clothes section of any store you visited together, he was very obvious about his desire for children with you.
You wanted children as well, especially with him, but there was something holding you back from making it a reality. Being a few years his junior, you knew you had the time to wait until the timing felt right to begin that journey with him. He understood this and felt exactly the same way, you should be completely ready before embarking on such a life-alterning path.
It was the day you went to meet Austin’s friend Ashley’s daughter for the first time since she was born during the midst of the pandemic and the filming of ‘Elvis’, when you finally felt that last shred of apprehension melt away. From the moment he woke up that morning, he was absolutely giddy with excitement. He spent the morning running around the house trying to complete all his daily tasks so you could leave as soon as possible. Of course he was excited to see Ashley, but you could tell there was just as much anticipation to meet his new ‘tiny best friend’ as he so sweetly referred to her.
The drive from your place to Ashley’s was just over an hour, and the whole way he was buzzing with nervous-excitement. This nervous-excitment manifested in Austin not being able to stop rambling,
“I wonder what she’ll look like…I mean I know I’ve seen tons of pictures of her but she’ll probably look different now, don’t you think? I mean, babies grow so fast and it’s been a couple weeks since I last got a picture or FaceTimed them.” He looked over at you, one hand on the steering wheel and the other between yours rested in your lap. His question so genuine and his excitement so apparent you couldn’t help the smile that spread across you face when you met his eyes,
“Babies do grow fast but I’m sure she’ll still look the same.” You brought your intertwined hands up to your mouth to press a quick kiss to the back of his hand, “You know, it’s very sweet, and irrationally attractive, that you’re so excited to meet her Aus.” He softly chuckled under his breath with a shake of his head, removing his hand from between yours to squeeze your thigh.
                                                            …
As Austin pulled into Ashley’s driveway, you too started to get excited to meet the baby and see your friend after so long apart. You sent a quick ‘here!’ text as you unbuckled your seatbelt after the car was safely in park. You got out and Austin followed suit, closing his door and rounding the front of the car to take your hand,
“Ready baby?” You asked him, interlocking your fingers and falling in stride together. He beamed at you, his blue-eyes sparkling,
“So ready.” You came to a halt when you reached the door and you raised your free hand to knock when you saw Ashley through a small window walking up to let the two of you in. You couldn’t help the smile that spread across your face as you waved wildly at her. She jogged the last of the distance, waving back enthusiastically, and flung the door open,
“Oh my god, hi!” She threw one arm around your neck and the other around Austin’s middle, pulling you both into a group hug, “I’m so happy you two are finally here!” She pulled away from you both to embrace just you. You spoke into her hair as you wrapped your arms around her middle,
“Oh, I missed you so much. How have you been Ash?” After the many years you had spent with Austin, you and Ashley had become fairly close almost immediately after meeting the first time. Nowhere near as close as her and Austin, but there was definitely a sisterly bond there,
“I’ve been so good, even better now that my favourite people are here!” She pulled back, and took a step over to Austin who wrapped her in the biggest hug, speaking softly to her as they rock back and forth in their embrace. You gave them their space, it was clear this was an emotional reunion for the two of them, though you did grab phone from your bag to take a sneaky picture to show the two of them later.
As you locked your phone and put it back in your bag a shrill, happy scream and babble of a baby made you snap your head back to the door. You looked over at Austin, who was taking a step back from Ashley to peer in the door too. Ashley laughed as she looked between the two of you,
“Ah yes, Jupiter has recently found out she can make that sound and she does it 24/7. Used to scare the shit out of me every time, but now I’m finally getting used to it,” She laughed again, shaking her head softly in amusement, “You ready to head inside and meet her?” You nodded excitedly and followed Ashley as she led back you through the foyer, toward the living room.
As always, her home was extremely well decorated, with tall ceilings and nice furniture, but there was organized mess everywhere–a highchair pushed against the wall and blocks on the floor–that let you know there was a little one roaming around. Austin slipped an arm around your waist as you entered the living room to find Jupiter standing, with the help of the coffee table, with her back to you. You felt Austin’s sharp inhale, as his chest was against your back, when his eyes landed on the little girl,
“Jupiter, what are you making all that noise for silly girl? I told you, I was just going to answer the door and I would be back.” Ashley bent down, swept Jupiter into her arms, making her giggle wildly, and set her on her hip facing you and Austin. “Now say hi to your Uncle Austin and Auntie y/n.” She pointed to you and Austin. Jupiter looked away from her mother, following the direction of her point, and her eyes fell on your first. You were immediately taken with how beautiful she was in person, all the photos you had received and blurry FaceTimes since her birth were nothing compared to her in the flesh. She was all big cheeks and stunning blue eyes, you think she can’t get any sweeter and then a semi-toothless smile spread over her little face. You couldn’t help but to take a step toward her, Austin’s arm dropping from around you.
“Hi sweetheart, oh my god aren’t you just the cutest little baby ever?” You extended your hands in her direction, a silent invitation to hold her, as you cooed gently at the child. Jupiter momentarily looked between your hands and your face, not yet convinced of her safety with this stranger in her home. She turned her head toward her mom, a small frown overtaking her features, who looked at you and begins to speak,
“She’s so shy, don’t take it personal. That whole ‘pandemic baby’ thing is no joke,” You lightly laughed, “It’s alright baby, go see your Auntie.” Ashley spoke softly to her daughter and– after another moment of hesitation–Jupiter turned back to you and reached out for your hands, suddenly deciding that you were safe.
You hooked your hands under her small arms and lifted her gently from Ashley’s grasp, hitching her onto your hip and rocking side to side to prematurely calm any lasting insecurity she may have. She grabbed onto the neckline of your shirt, kicking her little legs at the rocking motion and looked up at you, face overtaken by a large smile once again. You realized that Austin was still standing back a few steps–having not yet closed the distance to see Jupiter–so you turned around to face him, eyes still on the little one,
“Aus, come here and see her. You were right about her looking different in pers-” You looked up at him and were shocked to see his eyes red-rimmed. Instantly concerned, you took a step in his direction and gave him your full attention, “ Are you alright?” He cleared his throat, smoothing a hand over his jaw to collect himself, before offering you a small smile and speaking,
“Yeah, I’m alright baby. Just- this is kind of crazy,” He looked to Ashley just beyond you, “She’s so perfect Ash. God, I’m just so in awe that you actually made her.” He sniffled once and Ashley was quick to walk over and wrap her arms around him, tears in her eyes as well. It was a tender moment between them, two lifelong friends who had been separated by forces outside of their control during one of the more important moments of their lives. All the emotions–love, admiration, sadness, happiness–were so raw that it made your breath hitch in your throat. You thought the moment couldn’t get any more meaningful, when the pair of them collected themselves and Austin finally made his way over to Jupiter. He placed a hand on the small of your back as he moved to stand in front of you, his head tilted down closer to the height Jupiter sat on your hip. She blinked up at him as he gazed at her, both in awe of each other, and instantly you could see the bond between them materialize. Without any coaxing, from her mother or Austin, she reached out for him and the look on his face when she did was what did it for you.
There was no doubt in your mind that Austin loved you, he reminded you–in big and small ways–every single day but the love radiating off him for this little girl was overwhelming to witness. It was felt it in every cell of your body, so deeply and profoundly that tears immediately sprang to your eyes. You looked between the two of them, completely enamoured with each other, as Jupiter was lifted from your grasp. Austin made his way over to the couch, his eyes never leaving hers, and sat. In that moment you thought before you could stop yourself, I want to have a baby with him so badly. You were momentarily disarmed by your own thought, but after a moment of quiet contemplation you realized that witnessing Austin so in his element, with a child that wasn’t even his, was the last push you had been needing all along. This realization, coupled with the the way he continued to interact with the little one in front of you, and the next comment from Ashley had you absolutely certain that it was time to revisit the ‘baby talk’ when you got home that evening.
“God y/n, he’s literally perfect with her. If this is how he is with my kid, he’s going to be absolutely infatuated with yours.” She spoke lowly as she passed by you, making her way over to the armchair beside the couch and sitting down. For a moment, you watched Austin lift Jupiter high up in the air and down again, the two of them laughing at each other, before you walked over and sat next to him. His eyes flicked to your face quickly, flashing his wide smile your way, before falling back to Jupiter who was now reaching out for his face. Before he could lift her up again, you leaned over and kissed the side of his head,
“I love you, so much.” You couldn’t help the assertion, you were absolutely overflowing with love for the man before you and excitement at the prospect of soon having this for yourself. He looked at you fully then, semi-confused at your sudden declaration but happy nonetheless,
“I love you more.” He leaned in to kiss you sweetly and Jupiter let out her signature scream the second your lips met. You both pulled away and laughed, Austin turning back to the baby and jokingly scolding her, “Excuse me little miss, I will kiss my girl if I so please!”
Jupiter laughed and reached out for Austin’s face again, happy to have his attention back. Austin leaned back against the couch, lifting Jupiter up with her hands pressed to his mouth, he pressed loud kisses to her tiny palms in an attempt to make her smile. In that moment, he was completely content to be surrounded by his favourite girls, and also entirely unaware of the way his life would change forever when he got home.

Watching You
Tumblr media
Hello everyone!! I heard this song the other day and this idea hasn't left me since. So I had to put it down and @klizzie93 helped. Thank you lovely! The thought of how great of a dad Austin will be makes my heart melt. I am always open for requests if anyone has any.
You and Austin had been together for eight years now. Four years ago, you had the wedding of your dreams, beautiful, quiet, intimate and on the beach. Only family and very close friends were in attendance to celebrate with you.
It was maybe a half year later that you had surprised him with a little Elvis onesie. He had been over the moon, tears of joy falling down his face as he spun you around and couldn’t stop holding you. The next week, whenever he was within arms reach, he was always touching you in some way shape or form. As your belly grew, he started to bring home little outfits and stuffed animals. When you were three months, the both of you had decided to start decorating the nursery so it wouldn’t need to be done near the end of your pregnancy. It had been hard, but you were able to keep it from the public until you announced it when you were five months along. It was partly thanks to it being winter when you first were starting to show. The announcement was of your belly with his hands over it, and your hands over his. When you had the gender reveal and found out you were having a little boy, you were over the moon, a little Austin running around. As the months rolled by, you were getting more antsy, sore and finding it hard to get comfortable. There were nights you had trouble sleeping as the little one would not settle down for very long. Or kept kicking your bladder making you jump up and race to the bathroom. As your due date rolled around, Austin had made sure to have the month leading up to your due date off as well as nothing set in stone for work. The few days before you went into labor, you were crabby and couldn’t control your emotions very well. Austin, god bless the man, was there the entire time, getting you whatever you needed, helping you stand up or sit down, rubbing your back gently to help with pain. And he never once let anything you said go to heart. When your water broke, you were laying in bed, trying to get some sleep but your lower back was sore and you could not get comfortable. It was in the middle of the night when you went to shift to your other side that you felt your water break. It took you a few moments to realize what had just happened. When you grabbed Austin’s arm, he cracked his eyes open and the look on your face had him shooting up in bed.
The moment you told him it was time, he jumped out of bed, threw on a pair of joggers, a t-shirt and sweatshirt before helping you up out of bed, getting you into something dry and comfortable before he grabbed the go bag you had gotten ready last week. He helped you down the stairs and to the kitchen, where he set the bag on the island while he proceeded to race around looking for his phone, keys and wallet. Had this been any other situation, you would find it adorable at how flustered he was. You shuffled to the counter near the doorway to the mudroom, grabbed his keys and wallet and shouted to Austin when you heard him bound back up the stairs, that his phone was on the dresser. It was six hours later that little Alexander James Butler came into the world. You didn’t know you could love him any more than you did when he was in your belly but you were wrong. Austin and you were in awe at how beautiful he was, how tiny his fingers were. A week after you had gotten home, you posted a photo of Alexx’s little hand wrapped around Austin’s little finger. The first month took a bit of figuring things out before you both had a system figured out.
As the weeks turned into months and firsts with Alexx passed by, you couldn’t help dressing him up like his daddy.
When Austin’s birthday rolled around, you pulled out a box you had been very sneaky in hiding, and it took a bit to actually make the gift happen. When he opened it, it was a new carhartt jacket and tucked underneath was a perfectly matching miniature one for Alexx. The amount of pure adorableness that filled the house when Austin put the jacket on and then slid Alexx into his for a few photos, made your heart melt. Alexx’s first word was ‘mama’ but it wasn’t long before he followed it with ‘dada’. When Alexx had started to hold onto furniture to take a few steps, Austin was always hovering, worried about him falling and hitting his head. Alexx was 11 months old, he took his first unassisted steps from the middle of the room, where he had been playing with a few toys, over to Austin. The video call Austin was on with his publicist and manager was quickly ended and he spent the rest of the afternoon encouraging Alexx to walk between you and him. It was around then that he moved from single words to short sentences. He really was a mini me to Austin, always wanting to do what he was doing, wear what he was wearing. You never got upset over this. It was something that you had always dreamed of. When Alexx turned one, you had a big party with both your family and Austin’s as well as a few select friends. When Austin went back to work, he did filming where he could be home each night. Once Alexx was old enough you started to travel with Austin so he wouldn’t be away from the two of you for long. Your job was one you could easily do remotely from anywhere as long as you had internet, and that wasn’t ever an issue. It was during filming of a movie in Canada, that the three of you decided to head to a local park. With it being a little chilly out, you had Alexx bundled up in his carhartt jacket that matched Austins, and a little knit hat. You had made sure to get a new matching jacket everytime Alexx grew out of the current one. The three of you were on a blanket on the grass, you and Austin were just relaxing as it was a full day off for him. Lunch had been eaten a while ago and now Alexx was playing with a few of his dinosaurs. You were starting to doze off in the warmth of the sun when you heard Alexx say ‘Shit’ causing you to shoot up and look at him with wide eyes. “What did you just say Alexx?” You could not believe it, looking over at Austin who’s eyes were also wide. “Shit” He said, not knowing why you were looking at him like that. “That’s a bad word. Where did you hear that word, Alexander!?” You lifted him up and stood him between your legs, looking into blue eyes that were a mirror image of your husband’s. “Daddy said it yesterday. I want to be like him! We match!” The innocence in his voice, had you not been so shocked, would have been adorable. But when the words registered, your head slowly turned to look at Austin. He was biting his lip to keep from laughing. When he saw the look on your face, he couldn’t hold it in anymore, the laughter bubbling out. “Austin Robert Butler! What… When… Why did he hear you say that?” “I was on the phone with Kate, talking about the publicity circuit that I’m going to have to start after this wraps up here. I smashed my toe on the corner of the dresser, honestly, I thought he was sleeping.”
You shook your head at him and rolled your eyes. Of course, you knew this was bound to happen some time, just not this soon. Alexx was always watching everything Austin did and was trying to copy him and do what he was doing. When Austin would play his guitar, Alexx had to pull his little one out and play with him. When Austin would cook, he had to be there helping. “I swear, one day, you will be sorry. He is going to be causing trouble like you. And breaking hearts before you know it.” The look on Austin’s face at those words had you laughing now. “It’s Kismet Aus.” You smiled, kissing him on the cheek before turning back to Alexx. “No more using that word okay baby? There are some words that are bad and that is one of them.” Gently pulling the knit cap off his little head that was crooked, you smoothed his hair down before placing it back on straight. You then pulled the zipper back up that had started to slide down. “Daddy! Lets slide!” Alexx shouted, holding his arms out to Austin, his fists clenching closed and back open over and over. You just rolled your eyes in loving exasperation. Austin stood up, leaning down to scoop Alexx up into his arms before giving you a kiss quickly. And true to form, Alexx leaned out of Austin’s arms to kiss you on the cheek. A smile broke on your face as he turned and carried Alexx towards the large playground set. You pulled your phone out and took a few photos of the two of them before just happily lounging back and watching them interact. The thought about having another little one had been playing around your mind for the last few months. You would have to bring it up to Austin soon. The thought of him having two little ones in his arms just melted your heart even more. About an hour later, Alexx was getting fussy and both you and Austin knew he would need to be put down for his nap very soon. So the decision to head home was made. You gathered the blanket and bag that you brought lunch in since Alexx was squirming in Austin’s arms. “Daddy… I don’t want to leave!” He whined, putting on the best puppy eyes he could. Your husband looked at you for a moment. Hell, was this what you felt every time he gave you that look? “Buddy, I’m getting tired. Don’t you want to go home, get into comfortable pjs and curl up with me and mom for a nap? I know that’s what I want to do.” Austin said, fingers of his free hand tickling your son’s sides gently. A squeal left little lips and eyes crinkled up with joy. “Stopp Daddy!!” He squirmed even more before grabbing Austin’s hood and turning into his shoulder more. With a smile, the three of you started back to the vehicle. “Movie also?” “Sure Bubbs. Whatever movie you want.” You said, knowing he would be out like a light within the first five minutes of the movie. When you got to the vehicle, Austin made quick work of buckling Alexx into his car seat while you put the blanket and bag in the back. It wasn’t a long drive back to the apartment you were renting, but by the time Austin parked and turned the car off, Alexx was asleep. While walking into the apartment, he woke up and was groggy. Small fists rubbing at his glazed blue eyes. “Daddy, mommy, snuggle and movie now?” He asked, and oh my word, your heart melted. “Yeah, lets get changed while Daddy gets everything set up okay?” You held your arms out to take your son. He slowly leaned over towards you and you plucked him from Austin’s arms. When you went and let him pick out what he wanted to wear, Austin moved into your room, pulled the covers of the bed back and grabbed the remote for the tv, and Alexx’s blanket, before changing into a set of sleepwear that you had all gotten together on a recent shopping trip. And of course when you walked in, Alexx had the same set on. “Mommy! You need to match!” Alexx pointed to Aus as you set him down on the big bed. “Okay, I’ll go get into mine Bubbs.”
Once you had changed also, brushed your hair out and walked back into the bedroom, a huge smile filled your face. Austin was laying on his side of the bed on his back. Alexx was lying curled against his side, little fist clenching his blanket that he had bundled up between him and Austin’s side. If only you didn’t leave your phone in the kitchen. Making your way over to the bed, you laid down on your side, arm draping over Alexx and Austin’s stomach. “We are watching Land Before Time Mommy!” Alexx said, smiling at you and snuggling down even more between the two of you. “Oooooh. That’s a good one!” You responded with a kiss to his cheek. You trailed your fingers over his fluffy golden hair while Austin started the movie. When Little Foot met Cera for the first time, you glanced down and saw Alexx sound asleep. That didn’t surprise you at all, but what did was seeing Austin sound asleep as well. Smiling, you reached up and gently brushed a strand of hair off his forehead. This was a moment you never wanted to leave. Warm, curled up with your two boys and no worries at all.

Imagine Aus doing school drop off and it being kind of a disaster of a morning and he's considering giving up and being like "okay fuck this let's go to the park" and there's tantrums like "I wanted MOMMY to take me to school!"
oh my lord this has been in my drafts for ages I apologize for this being sorta wonky i wrote it at 4am😭😭
“Clara you have to wear shoes, no do not throw them at me- that’s it!” Austin bent over and picked the little girl up. “There is no reason for you to be acting like this.”
Clara with a face full of determination thrashed her little body around in her father’s arms and wailed, “No no no!” She screamed out, “I want mommy!” Running a hand down his face Austin huffed, “Clara Butler! We do not hit or kick people, that hurts and it is not nice,” he pulled open the car door and attempted to settle her into her carseat. “Quit kicking me,” he grumbled as he buckled her in.
“Momma! Mommaa!” Clara wailed out and pounded her tiny hands against the plastic cup holders.
Austin sighed and took her hands in his, “Now you listen here young lady- I don’t know what the problem is but you need to quit your yelling, do you understand me?”
Clara stared back at her father for a moment, “I don’t want you- I want momma!” She spat out.
“Well momma isn’t here right now, I’m sorry,” he replied then shut the door. Clara began to kick the back of his seat and Austin leaned his head down on the steering wheel, “Clara, please- just stop?”
The five year old’s tantrum showed no signs of slowing down despite her father’s pleas. “MOMMA! I WANT MOMMA!!!” She screamed out at the top of lungs, her face now turning a shade of red.
“Alright! What if I take you to the park after school? We can get ice cream?” He asked as he turned around to face her.
“I want my momma-“
“Alright! You want momma so bad- Jesus, fine momma and I will take you to the park after school if you behave the rest of the day, that means no more hitting or kicking daddy- you understand?” He asked with a newfound tone of sternness.
“And we get ice cream,” Clara replied softly
“And we get ice cream,” Austin repeated as he slowly began to back out of the driveway.

Worried About You - Elvis (DDM)
Tumblr media
If you don’t feel comfortable/don’t want to imagine Elvis as your father, DON’T read!!
Disclaimer: Y/N’s mother in this fic does not have to be Priscilla unless you choose for it to be read that way. Y/N’s mother is never named.
Summary: Elvis is your father. Your mother has been treating you a lot older than you are, and he’s worried about you and the things your mother is doing when he’s not around.
Pairing: Daughter!Y/N x Father!Elvis or Austin!Elvis)
Word count: 797
Warnings: DDM (daddy daughter moments), argument, divorced parents.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
You and your mom had just driven through the gates of Graceland, your fathers house, dropping you off for your week with your dad. He welcomed the pair of you in, you sprinting out of the car, leaping into his arms, he kissed you on the cheek hello and put you down, to give your mum a hug, too. Though your parents were divorced, they made a real effort to stay friends for you. However, that was becoming increasingly difficult for Elvis, as he had noticed changes in your behaviour each and every time you came back from your moms house. It was starting to worry him. Not to mention, he was stunned at the amount of fabric, or lack thereof, that your dress was made of.
“Y/M/N, can I talk to you?” He skipped saying hello. Jerry, who was at the house with Elvis, took your hand and walked with you up to your bedroom, giving your parents some time alone.
“What’s up?”
“Did our daughter have four birthdays in the week she was with you? What the hell are you doing to her?”
“How’d you know she isn’t just choosing to dress like that herself?”
“Well, I sure as hell know my eleven year old ain’t got a date tonight.” Your dad raised his voice at your mom.
“Elvis, don’t make this a big deal, she liked some of my clothes, so I said she could have them. It’s normal—“
“Normal? Normal? She’s a child. You’re an adult. What the hell were you thinking?” Your dad was getting angry now.
“I don’t know what to tell you. She was curious!” Your mom argued.
“So you couldn’t tell her that she’s too young? She’s not even a teenager, Y/M/N, come on.” He pressed his fingers to his forehead.
“Why are you so worried?”
“Why does it seem like every time you bring her back her she’s aged another 5 years? She’s a kid for gods sake.”
“Elvis—“ your mom sighed.
“No. Don’t give me that. Every god damn time you bring her back here I gotta answer questions about boys— about you and me— about being a—“
“She’s growing up. You can’t stop that.”
“Oh lord, lay off, okay? Do you seriously not see the problem? I’m sick of trying to parent the kid alone, can you take a little responsibility and stop treating her like your doll?”
“Did you seriously just say that to me?” Your mom was in disbelief.
Though, he had a point.
“What’s her best friends name?” Elvis asked, his arms folded across his chest.
“Chelsea.” Your mom hesitated.
“Taylor. It’s Taylor.”
“So? She’s got lots of friends. What’s your point, Elvis?”
“You don’t even know the kid, Y/M/N. What’s her favourite food? What’s her favourite subject? What’s her teachers name? Do you know?”
Your dad really worried for you. You were his pride and joy. He worried about you constantly when you were with your mom, are you being fed enough? Are you getting enough sleep? Do you get to play and be a kid like you do with him? Whats she doing that’s making you seem so grown up?
He knew your mother was seeing other men, he just didn’t know, to what extent you were seeing of these other men.
He really didn’t want to have to challenge her for custody, because that would get ugly and, honestly, very rare the dad ever wins.
Your mom stayed silent.
Elvis took a deep breath, “she’s not a mini you, she’s her own person, and that person is a kid, Y/M/N. Why can’t you understand that?”
Before your mom could speak, he began again.
“I’m not asking you for me. For her, Y/M/N, I can’t raise this kid alone. I feel like I’m on damage control, ya know that? You want your kid to be happily married with a family or you want her running the streets every night, huh? I’m telling ya, honey, the way it’s going right now she’s gon be no more married happily than you and I.”
Your mom was flabbergasted, gobsmacked, even.
“I— I can’t have this conversation with you right now.” Your mom managed to choke out, quickly leaving out the front door.
Elvis sighed and shut his eyes for a moment, having watched his ex-wife leave. He went upstairs, properly greeting you with a hug, as you jumped up into his arms once again, just excited to be home, “Daddy! Can we take the horses for a ride?”
“Sure, honey.” He smiled, putting you down, holding the back of your head gently before you started tearing apart your bedroom to find your riding helmet and boots. It was dawning on him that fighting for custody of you may be in his near future.

"Don't Feel Good, daddy!"
Dad!austin
______________________________________________
Austin could tell your daughter felt a tiny bit warm as he sat on the side of her bed and rubbed her back to rouse her. "Hi sweet girl. Did you sleep good?" Usually, your and Austin's daughter would smile at him as soon as she woke up, he told you it was an every day thing for him and her. But for some reason she just frowned and whined at him.
That's weird he thought as he rubbed her arms. "Ready to go to school, bug? See all your friends?" Your daughter Ivy just whined and snuggled into Austin's shoulder. She felt horrible as soon as she woke up. Now that she was coming back to consciousness, her head hurt, she felt nauseous and she had a sore throat. "Nooo daddy! Stay home with yoooou." Your daughter knew Austin usually stayed home to do meetings over zoom and business calls from your home now that your daughter was in school. He definitely slowed down some but he needed to get things done today.
Austin just thought she wanted to spend the day at home watching cartoons and playing outside. "Oh baby, I'm sorry you want to be with daddy but daddy's gotta make money to be able to get you all of your nice toys and things. I'll be there to pick you up today though." Ivy whined, she just wanted someone to understand she felt yucky.
Maybe mama? "MAMA!" She yelled, ignoring the ache in her throat. "Mama's at work sweetie. I know, I'm sorry but we gotta get going bubs, here do you want the flamingo shirt or your koala shirt?" Ivy groaned and after a few minutes, picked the flamingo shirt. "okay, green or purple pants, bubba?" She picked her favorite ones.
At breakfast, little Ivy laid her head down on the kitchen table and whined at whatever Austin offered her for breakfast. "Here baby, if you eat breakfast, even just a little bit, I'll take you to get a cakepop on the way home from school?" He bribed.
Ivy didn't want the cakepop, her tummy felt all swirly. "No, daddy, no!" Austin sighed and packed an extra packet of muffins in her lunch box for later if she got hungry and planned to tell her teacher about them once he dropped her off.
"Alright bunny, let's go get your shoes. Go, go, go." Ivy just started silently crying when she was putting her shoes on.
"Baby, what's wrong?" Austin asked, picking up Ivy and fixing her velcro shoes. "Don't feel good daddy, please don't make me go." Austin sighed. "Ivy, can you just try for daddy please? If you still don't feel good by lunch time, go to the nurse and I'll come get you okay?" He figured it was just hunger pains and she would feel better once she got to school. Ivy just whined and shoved her face into Austin's shoulder.
Austin had just put Ivy in her car seat and started the car when Ivy knew what was about to happen. She was going to throw up. She tried to call out before she gagged, "DA-!" Austin turned around just in time to to fling his hand out under her chin and bring up what little vomit she could get up.
"Shit, it's okay baby, you're okay." Austin turned on the car phone and dialed your phone. "Hello?"
"Hey babe, we've had a rough morning. Ivy's not going to school today." Austin said as he waited with his hand cupped under Ivy's chin, waiting to see if she'll gag again.
"Why? Is she okay?" Austin groaned, "She just threw up. She was a little warm when she woke up. I'm just gonna take her inside and get her changed. Good job, baby you're okay."
You felt so bad for your baby girl. "Ivy, are you okay sweetie?" Ivy gasped when she recognized your voice coming out of the cars speakers. "Mommy?"
"Yeah baby, are you feeling icky?" Ivy nodded. "Yeah... frew up in daddy's hand... didn't mean to." She said, looking to Austin with a pout. Austin gave his daughter a small smile. "It's alright baby, daddy's gonna take you inside and get you back in your jammies. You two are gonna relax together for the day and then I'll see you later tonight okay?" Ivy nodded again. "Wuv 'oo mama." Austin smiled. "Love you too baby." you said before instructing Austin to text you updates and hanging up.
"C'mon, sickie, let's go back to bed okay? Daddy's sorry he almost made you go to school sick." Ivy snuggled up to her dad's shoulder. "It otay."
A few hours later after a big nap and crackers, while Ivy was watching a show, she remembered what her daddy promised her. "Daddy... cake pop?" Austin chuckled. "We'll see if mama can bring you home one when you're feeling better alright, princess?"

────── ∘◦❀◦∘
Watching someone you love dedicate themselves to something they're passionate about is a beautiful thing. But, watching the love of your life dedicate his entire being to something he's passionate about? Breathtaking.
Austin had spent the last two years of his life dedicating his every move and word to this film, desperate to capture the essence of Elvis and portray him the best he could- the way he deserved.
It was hard to watch sometimes, imposter syndrome threatening to drag Austin under the waters and take him hostage was always present. But in the times he felt like he couldn't breathe, he had people to pull him back to the surface.
You and Ines, his two favourite things.
Sure, Austin knew that there would be struggles portraying such a big soul and surrendering himself to Elvis; but at the end of the day, he would always have you two to go home to.
The pair of you were his rocks, keeping him grounded and level-headed; reminding him of who he really was when he finally took off the costumes and makeup. He was Austin, he was an actor, a lover and a father.
Austin usually tried to keep his personal life just that- personal. He prided himself on being able to seperate his fiancee and child from the spotlight. When he was at work, he was an actor. When he was home, a father and to-be husband.
Tonight, he was all three.
"Come on you two, we're gonna be late!" Austin called up the stairs with a smile. Anyone thought that he would be stressed prior to arriving at the premiere, but he knew the hard work was done- all he had to do was await for everyone's reaction.. no pressure.
His voice rang throughout the hotel room. Austin was fortunate enough to be put up in a spacious hotel whilst in Cannes, big enough for Ines to run wild when she needed to get out some energy.
The styling team finished the last of Austin's outfit, one woman pinning a small blue flower onto his suit. He thanked her quietly, keeping an eye on the time- he liked to be somewhat on time, but he knew his daughter often had her own schedule.
Austin heard Ines before he saw her. She let out small giggles as she raced down the stairs in her dress, a faded yellow satin dress that she was sure to spill something on before the night was out. Being freshly two, she was getting quicker- not quick enough for her dad though.
"Gotcha!" He picked her up before she could take her last step off the stairs, spinning her once and then bringing her up into his arms. "You-" He dragged out the word, taking in her daughters dirty blonde curls- "Look so beautiful," He held her close to him before kissing her on the cheek. "Gotta stop getting so big," He whispered, kissing her once more.
"Momma is taking forever," Ines sighed dramatically, throwing herself backwards in Austin's arms. She had her father's flair for dramatics.
"Is she?" He raised an eyebrow at Ines, "Doesn't sound like your Mom, huh?" Austin chuckled. Austin put Ines down on the couch before kneeling in front of her. "Gotta put your shoes on yeah?" He held ballet flats that were suddenly getting too big in his eyes, watching his baby grow up brought him almost a sadness.
"This one first," Ines tapped her right foot.
"This one?" Austin grabbed the wrong foot on purpose, a smirk on his lips.
"No Daddy!" She laughed loudly, "This one!" She stuck her foot up at Austin who just dodged his daughter's small kick. Austin muttered a small 'okay' with a smile, putting her shoes on her feet for her.
"Daddy getting you ready, Nezzie?" You leant against the bannister of the stairs, watching your fiancee with your daughter. He was so loving and gentle, born to be a father.
It always felt like slow motion when Austin looked at you, as if it were the first time he had ever met your eyes. "Wow," He slowly stood up, drinking in your appearance. "You look.."
"Amazing?" You smirked, your arms crossed as you walked over to Austin, "Beautiful? Radiant?"
"Oh definitely," He nodded, his hands rubbing up and down both of your arms, "More than," His head shook slightly in disbelief.
"Come here Nezzie," You smiled picking Ines up from her spot on the couch, "Are you ready?"
"I've been ready," Austin joked, "Make me late to my own premiere,"
"Was it worth it?" You leant towards him, your eyes looking down at his lips, taking in his cupid's bow whilst there.
Austin leant in closer, his lips ghosting over yours, "Definitely"
─── ∘◦❀◦∘
You and Ines let Austin take the lead once you were on the carpet. You enjoyed standing back with his publicist and see him in his element, the cameras just loved him and everyone could see why.
You watched as his eyes danced around the carpet, searching for something. They landed on you, holding a wining Ines. He smiled, gesturing for you two to come over for some pictures. "Nezzie," You smiled, looking down at her. She was very overwhelmed, she had never been to an event this big before- all she wanted was her daddy. "Look, who's over there?"
Ines followed her Mom's pointer finger to find her daddy offering her a small wave, her grumpy face disappeared and was replaced with a sweet smile. You put Ines down on the carpet and let her run over to Austin.
He brought Ines into a warm embrace before kissing her hair and standing back up. The media was going nuts for a glimpse of Austin and his daughter, a rare occurrence- but this was his night and he was going to celebrate it with his family.
He looked back over at you and nodded for you to come over, wondering why you weren't already on his arm. Once you double checked with his publicist, who gave you a nod and a smile, you went over to your fiancee and posed for some photos with him and Ines.
Ines mainly hid her head in Austin's neck for most of the photos, but he managed to coax her out for some, pointing at the fancy lighting fixtures above her heads that resembled stars. You watched Austin with Ines, a smile on your face. He kissed her on the cheek, she laughed at him before poking his face.
"We'll head inside and wait for you okay?" You and Austin switched over Ines, as the interviews were coming up.
"Are you sure you don't want to stay out here?" Austin was always cautious, always wanted you close, "I won't be long,"
"Go," You smile, "This is your night, go be a star" Austin stared in adoration at you, never being able to comprehend him getting so lucky. How he knew he didn't deserve you.
"Be careful okay?" Austin held you by the arms again, his thumb softly rubbing your skin. The cameras were eating this up, Austin Butler- superstar and family man. "That goes for you Nez," Austin cupped his daughters cheeks, "You need to listen to what Mommy says and stay close, okay? It's very important you listen to Mommy,"
Ines nodded, leaning into her dad's touch, "Okay Daddy," She said softly, "Promise," She held up her pinky finger. Austin's anxious thoughts faded when he looked at Ines, his sweet baby.
"Good girl," He interlocked their fingers, kissing hers afterwards. "I love you both," Austin kissed you on the forehead, before peppering kisses over Ines' cheeks.
"Love you," You smiled, beginning to walk away towards the entrance.
"Bye Daddy!" Ines shouted to Austin, who was already posing for pictures again.
He broke out in a big smile as he looked over to her, "Bye Nezzie," He blew her a kiss.
As Austin watched you walk away with Ines in your arms, he reminded himself as he stood on the carpet that no matter the success all of his films brought him, that he would always be a father before a star.
