also i really did not anticipatw the way my boredom would manifest on the road trip. so sorry to everyone who gave me music suggestions, they were all good but it was hard to not go insane with songs that i dont recognize and couldnt sing along to. i’ll have to check most of them our when i can actually sit down with them and focus. so ironically i actually had to turn to story driven media. i listened to a few musicals and then by the halfway point of my return back i actually started to listen to my very first ever podcast and yknow what it fucking worked. shoulda been podcasting the whole way
The obsession websites that are successful without video seem to have for adding video is baffling to me. Yes I get that it's chasing the fad and trying to get another site's market share, I get the why, but it's just bizarre to me that so many companies that are working properly will look at the absolute logistical nightmare that is adding video and decide it's worth the cost in order to burn their primary users and become known as a worse version of another website.
Just the sheer expense of the additional storage to host terabytes upon terabytes of HD video should be enough to scare off most companies with an ounce of sense, and that's only the first and most obvious headache to deal with. It only makes sense if it's the only thing you're doing, and even then it only makes sense under the right conditions.
Wait I can send audio... here is three minutes and forty-seven seconds of Jo talking normally and getting his shit wrecked (not in equal proportion) (sorry in advance for some of these)
imagine my shock when i thought id be hearing speaking first but got the Getting His Shit Wrecked segment front center
im So hype for that live amphibian performance that it was a feat of restraint to not start this clip earlier but obviously then flipping out about the Crisp recording of the same particular moment there like good god. and then this post is just an advertisement like are you seeing this. if you are then you are
I always love reading the tags for your DW posts, because you pay such great attention to detail, you do not only NOT miss the subtleties, but even some of the blatantly obvious things that even longtime fans might have missed (like me). You make us think with some of your own thoughts and feelings and observations in your tags, and you always make me think. I love your tags.
i just discovered something about my petscop animation: YOUTUBE COMPRESSION MESSED UP PART OF IT. it's not that big of a loss nor is it entirely lost; it's just a little detail that's a lot harder to see. paul's face is visible as a reflection on the crt screen later in the video, BUT rainer's face shows up too! (just a lot lot darker.) i wanted it to only be visible if you tried to look for it, so you'd have to adjust the brightness levels to see it. unfortunately youtube compression completely decimated this, and you can definitely see that when you adjust the levels LOL. here's a comparison:
i knew i'd have to cut my losses on the video's quality from the start, but i didn't realize until now that this was affected... OH WELL! anyway if you'd like to see the video in its original quality, i have a special download link just for you..... YIPPEE
