ooc - end of the atypical leaders
hi. I’m Min. one of the makers of this very short-lived pokeblog. Addy made a post on their pokeblog already about the project ending. go read that, I can’t add anything.
I’m the one taking over the account, solely me. I’m going to use this for a separate pokeblog idea thing. hope it’s good when it starts, so much planning to do still. I’ll keep the Atypical Leader posts. Nice memories. they’ll be tagged #atypical leaders. I won’t talk about them outside of maybe indirect easter eggs. I liked harma.

sup. I’m not gonna be posting for a bit. A friend died, I wanna focus on other stuff, other things too. I might like some things and I want to post the coloring once it’s done but besides that this, @unite-battle-network & @polteagueist are gonna be quiet.
Why this post is big? My friend (and me) was part of @/atypical-leaders now @monsion-no2. We agreed another person is gonna keep the blog since they were going to use one anyway and i get to post the info here. They said they’ll keep the posts but if that changes I’ll add them to this.
peace for now

The logo is an edit of pokémon revolution online. Don’t know why.
Here is the brief intros. Those who got ~more detailed bios have them linked by their name in the intros. I’ll write about the others here based on the notes. Meri & Archie don’t have much besides pkmn on the shared file so I’ll get them done first.
Meriwether’s challenge team was an excadrill (sandstorm), pelipper (rain), abomasnow (hail), walrein (rain), scovillain (sun & grassy surge). Love (mod) asked for help in psychic terrain but if there is anything on that I don’t have access. Meri was going to consider leaving the Leaders at some point
Archie has fossils for his team, dracovish & omastar & archaeops. Love was going to add paradoxes. He’s in a similar situation to Meri of leaving, kinda, he’s a minor leader (part time) so he didn’t hurt Bud by declining but also so he doesn’t have to be around them full time and he gets to do his job.
Daisy has a profile but since the character doesn’t type much Demi didn’t go into the team’s moves. Also since they aren’t fully done ig. I’m gonna straight ctrl c&v
Jyn = sweet kiss, lovely kiss, heart stamp, blizzard/avalanche.
Noct = hypnosis, dream eater, psycho shift, shadow ball
Forr = poison spikes?? I don’t know, Forres need more love but THIS IS WHY NO ONE ELSE LOVES YOU
Tox = toxic,
Chan = inferno, confuse ray, hex, dark pulse
Gimma used gimmicks like mega evos, gigant/dynamaxing, z moves, terrastilising. She is from Fiore, moved to Galar to do a trainer journey because their league is widely known and -maxing is unique to there & publicised and she wanted to experience it for herself. Learnt of other another region’s gimmick and went there and learnt of another and so on. Pokemon aren’t on there currently but Gimma was going to be another 4 pkmn challenge definitely including a swampert. She’s tied youngest with Sully, both 19. Demi & Min thought giving them a dynamic would be cool since she’s effectively a protag character while Sully is an evil team leader. How she would be able to -max idk. She has lots of bracelets. Demi’s really happy with her name.
Julienne used food ones. Challenge team was flapple, tsareena, slurpuff. Had 3 others in a vanilluxe (too injured), cherubi (too young), fidough (not interested in battling, tries play instead). Julienne owns a diner in Nimbasa. Name ideas include Pokébowl & Fraimon Diner & Frai Up. As mentioned by Other (mod), Julienne is intersex.
Hecate used ones that have different forms. They’re also all named after warhammer characters apparently. It’s team is Chakai the aegislash, Khorne the darmanitan, Tzeentch the ditto, Kairos the morpeko, Zuvassin the wishiwashi, and my personal favorite Nurgle the palafin. Hec was maybe gonna have a thing where it changes font. It’s generally cryptically verbose.
Sully was based on evil teams, kinda like how Team Yell work.? I haven’t played swsh. As opposed to the others who are all only leader battles, Sul has grunts who do general “look menacing and like your gonna cause trouble” things so trainers battle them, battling slightly stronger ones each time you beat the prior one until you get to him. His challenge is like a scavenger hunt I guess? Apparently the first batch of grunts give an option to join Team Evil and if trainers accept Sully is called to them to battle with his challenge team as they are when you fight him after beating his grunts. His team is Vierlence a hydreigon, Stiyx a clefable, a scizor, a nidoking, a milotic & an eelektross. He also has a service mon in Harma, a shiny spritzee that has healer ability & releases violent scent to encourage breathing, to help pulmonary fibrosis.
Buddy has an intro but I’d also had an idea to give them some traits that stemmed from their communal upbringing where they didn’t have a set parent, the people in the community center all cared for them when around. They ended up with a “people aren’t permanent in life, don’t get attached (but mons are fine because Jiji hasn’t left) but make the most of your time” philosophy which sometimes leads them to be overattached (right term?) and drive people away which reinforces the idea. This group of Atypical Leaders is their latest overattachment and others like Meri were possibly going to leave. As mentioned, Archie agreed to be part of the project to not hurt Buddy but on the condition of being minor so he could do other things.

The latest Dungeon Meshi chapter is incredibly good for many reasons but one of them is getting to see Chilchuck's arc and him growing as a character, especially when it comes to his opinion on Laios as a leader and as a friend. I am so interested in breaking down their relationship development (this also doubles as chilaios propaganda btw lmao)
This got extremely long so I'll leave it under the cut <3
At the very start of the manga, and throughout most of the middle, Chilchuck clearly brushes Laios interests and personality off as being weird, just like pretty much every other character, but underneath that is a frustration that comes from him thinking that Laios could stand to be a way better leader than he is. Chilchuck is arguably way more qualified to be a leader in their group, but taking a leadership position is obviously not something he could easily do because of how prejudiced against his race is. In a world where most races see yours as disposable, it must be incredibly frustrating to be hired in a group with a leader who lacks social skills, is very forgetful, and seems to only care about monsters, when you both know you could do a way better job.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chilchuck has more experience when it comes down to that type of thing, given he organized a union for other halflings, and though he takes out his anger at Laios's naivety when it comes to that area, it's clear he does it out of care and just because he wants to see Laios improve. In dungeon groups, he's always been a follower, he's perfectly comfortable just being there to do his job, and do it well, then leave. He isn't itching for the opportunity to take over Laios's role, but he does want to have the type of leader he can easily rely on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But because of Laios's inexperience and also brash decision-making, Chil feels responsible for holding him back and being the glue to keep the team together, even though he may not admit it, (something we can clearly see when he chooses to sacrifice himself instead in the dragon fight despite the fact he often tells others he won't be useful in combat, as well as when he chooses to step in for Laios's place when talking with the Canaries).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is something even Laios has taken notice of, given that he wants Chilchuck to be the one to bring him back to his senses with a lecture right before his confrontation with the winged lion. Out of all the others, he depends on Chilchuck on being able to bring him back with his words.
Tumblr media
But anyways, Chilchuck's character arc comes from accepting Laios as a leader and growing fond of his unusual methods of leading rather than frustrated. In the shapeshifter chapter, when it came down to Laios having to differentiate Chil from his doppelganger, you can very much tell he is terrified of having to depend on Laios's judgement. I think it is also made worse by the fact that the shapeshifter is acting exactly like the worst preconceived notions about halflings other races have, and at this point the only thing present in his mind is the possibility that Laios will let him die and be replaced by a stereotype of all things.
Tumblr media
And even after Laios explains how he was successfully able to tell his team apart, (which was because of how they interacted with monsters and the dungeon), the others are impressed, but Chilchuck isn't content with just that and hoped that Laios would have known because he finally got to know the others on a deep level that Leaders are just inherently capable of.
Tumblr media
But of course, Laios isn't capable of something like that. He isn't a mind reader and he obviously can't distinguish other people's real thoughts or emotions, even if they are fairly obvious. Laios pulled a feat in a way that was accessible and made sense to him, and Chilchuck wasn't swayed because of how atypical it was of leaders to act. (Yes I also read this is a neurodivergent in a neurotypical world conflict).
This hesitance to fully trust in his abilities is also why he advised Laios not to accept becoming a king initially when Yaado asked Laios to. But after Laios defeats Thistle, by using his knowledge on dragons, similarly to how he defeated the shape-shifters, Chilchuck finally starts viewing Laios's unusual problem-solving in a positive light. It's when he first realizes that Laios's obsession with monsters isn't the thing that's holding him back, but a useful asset. His interest and knowledge is what saved them and got them all as far as they have. It makes sense for his development to go from believing Laios could never possibly be a king, to outright encouraging the idea. In his eyes, Laios has already been capable of doing the impossible, and thinks that he should stop underestimating what he's been able to do.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A final point is that Chilchuck has always been able to read Laios like a book, and is aware of what's on his mind a lot of the time, but this used to only cause exasperation and contributed to seeing Laios in a negative light most of the time. However, in the last chapter, he is pretty much the only person who is able to tell that something about Laios seems off. He actually pays attention to Laios as a person and shows concern for his well being. Because he cares about him. Like he's obviously cared about him for a while now but I think this is the first time he's genuinely shown this much concern for any of his friend's mental state. I wanna cry
Tumblr media
Anyways conclusion being Chilchuck has not only finally accepted Laios as a leader, but as an incredibly capable individual who he genuinely respects. That’s it thanks for coming to my Ted Talk

"Aegon, the Unlikely, they called him, born the fourth son of a fourth son. Aemon knew, and rightly, that if he remained at court those who disliked his brother's rule would seek to use him, so he came to the Wall" (Jeor Mormont, the Old Bear, to Jon Snow, p. 105, A Clash of Kings).
The second ASOIAF books clearly established that alternative claimants to the throne can and would be used by dissidents to rebel against the current leader, and this would be especially true in the case of an atypical claimant (like that of Aegon the Unlikely, who became king despite being a fourth son).
Rhaenyra's claim was also atypical. Despite the Great Council of 101 AC giving her own father the throne over a woman claimant and reaffirming male primogeniture as the choice of the lords of the realm, she was the named heir by her father. She remained heir even when her father then had three trueborn sons (and another daughter) after her. Added to this atypical claim are her political scandals: being sighted in a brothel with her uncle Daemon in her younger years, having three obvious illegitimate children that she tried to gaslight everyone into thinking are trueborn and pushing for them to inherit multiple seats of power to which they had no real claim, and marrying Daemon immediately after her husband's death (despite the desire to distance Daemon from the throne being a primary factor in her being named as heir in the first place).
Because of her atypical claim and the existence of alternative claimants, naturally anyone who disliked any aspect of Rhaenyra's rule (because she was a woman, because she had bastards, because she married Daemon, or any other reason) would use her brothers as a symbol of their rebellion and fight for them to sit the throne instead of her.
Whether or not she would have wanted it, Rhaenyra would have to deal with the alternative claimants in order to secure her rule. All of her brothers and their children would have to either die or be exiled to remove their claims to the throne. Otherwise, her claim could be contested and there could be war. Even if Rhaenyra did not realize this, Daemon did, and given his past actions of violence to further his own position, it does not seem out of the realm of possibility that he would act on this. He would have to in order to secure his and his family's power.
Anyone who claims that the Green children were not in danger and that they were not seeking the throne in part to protect themselves is ignorant of the world in which this story takes place and of the real-world history of feudalism and monarchy upon which this story is based.

Rafal as an Ever Student AU
I think I came up with a decent portion of this right before I read Rise, in the shower, and the rest of it manifested later on, after reading Rise.
Note: This concept is set as if he were in Sophie and Agatha's year.
He gets a different reception than Agatha despite being a bit like her but less coarse and more refined. He’s seen as broody and cool, not “moody,” “grumpy,” “sour,” and “unpleasant.” It is a total double standard for the Everboys that he benefits from.
Yes, he retains his personality from TLEA and Rise, just minus the Evilness. Aloof, grouchy, and quiet.
He’s not entirely an outcast even if he is unconventional, for a prince. The other Everboys hate him because he’s seen as competition. They poke fun at him and call him “as pale as a Crog’s underbelly.”
Some Evergirls are attracted to him. He sets their hearts aflutter, but most think he is the antithesis of Good in its typical definitions and forms. He is cold and pale, and leaner-built than most. He runs cold, unlike the warm-blooded, sweaty Everboys. (And, he and Sophie love each other. Although, being atypical examples of an Ever and Never as they are, they are quite a contrast and quite the power couple. Even though they are an Ever-Never couple, they have lots of commonalities. Maybe, they’d resemble Tophie, but their dynamic would be leagues better.)
Ironically, he performs badly at things that require true Goodness. The other Everboys mock him for being “impure” like the Nevers mocked Sophie.
Basically, Rafal is no good at doing performative Good. In the way that Sophie initially is bad at performative Evil, in practice.
However, he aces the Good theory lessons somehow. He probably got a 90% on Dovey's Good Deeds test. He just knows the Rules and how everything works really well. He's clever. That's obvious enough. (And, he was a prodigy in primary school.)
The two, Sophie and Rafal, are paradoxes. They are (oddly enough) desirable social-rejects.
One of their first interactions, after he performed badly in a class involving concrete action that Sophie witnessed:
Sophie: I thought you were Good.
Rafal: I am. In theory.
His ability to understand Good theory traces back to his Talent: how he already has a full understanding of how the Woods operate, and can read souls and intentions, meaning he can immediately sense who’s an Ever and who’s a Never, is a walking lie-detector, and senses a betrayal days before it happens. His weakness is that emotional attachment to people dulls his senses in regards to them specifically.
He’s also slightly prescient. He is not a Seer though. He can simply predict outcomes and movements with surprising accuracy. Plus, maybe, he's just observant and knows too much, more than he should, of the inner workings of the Schools’ system.
He probably cheats the system with his performance, anomalous with the actual impure inclinations of his soul. Like, he knows the correct, Good answers to the test. He just wouldn't be compelled to do all of it in reality. He doesn't care enough to. He doesn’t care enough for others. He doesn't care enough for what others think, at all, so that's part of the problem.
In reality, he’s on the less pure section of the Good continuum; he’s just incredibly competent at what he does to be tracked as a Leader. So, his morality is already greyish. But, he has no inclination to do Evil without provocation. He’s just capable of thinking exactly like a villain would, which both impresses and terrifies all the Evers. It looks suspicious, and Tedros is certain he’s secretly a Never.
This connects back to his Talent. Rafal can anticipate what Nevers will do. He’s always several steps ahead as a strategic, long-range planner.
Rafal’s Wish Fish vision is of Sophie. (He had seen her at the Welcoming, and cynically chalked her up to delusional Evil in love, like his Never brother once was. He did experience aesthetic attraction though.) He’s startled by the vision, and the Everboys jeer at him for being drawn to a Never.
Meanwhile, Agatha tries to tell Sophie to try and get him to kiss her, and tells her to wait for him to make the first move. Sophie doesn’t listen and approaches him. She had decided to lure him instead.
But she is not the only one with ulterior motives. At first, Rafal had selfish motives in pursuing Sophie. He, ever the control freak, decides to try and reform her. It would surely be an unforgettable accomplishment, and win him fame and influence as the first Ever to convert a Never to Good. Then, he’d take her as his queen.
And, yes, he admits, he does have feelings for her, but he is unable to process or decipher those feelings at the moment, and he stuffs them down, so he can conduct his morally-questionable experiment without interference.
He finds Sophie amusing and intriguing. Sometimes, he smiles knowingly at the lengths she goes to prove she's truly Good. Because, he once tried to love too and failed. His heart and soul failed him. And, it pains him to think about the Evil brother he had to kill in the purest self-defense a year ago. (Yeah, he's traumatized in this AU too.)
Eventually, he’s a prince lured onto Evil's side. She won their game, like a siren. And, both of them were already morally grey.
If the Storian were to write a fairy tale about them, the first triumph of both sides, it would be very radical for lack of a better word. Very good. Ahem. [Clears throat awkwardly.]

Autistic Anime Boys Side B Round 1 Match 11
Tumblr media
Propaganda:
Mikey -
"This is a headcanon that didn’t originally occur to me, but then I encountered it in the wild, and something in my brain kinda lit up like ‘!!!’. I couldn’t stop turning the idea over in my head, like a slow roasting marshmallow, getting dangerously close to an open flame. So, here we are. First of all, Mikey is the leader of a biker gang. He has an immense interest in motorcycles (including their parts and repairing/building them), something of which he is able to bond with other delinquents over. He is frequently commented on by others as showcasing ‘childish’ behavior, such as whining when he doesn’t get his way, taking naps on his vice-commander, Draken’s, back or getting upset when he receives a kid’s meal with no flag in it. He often relies on Draken in a caretaker sort of role, such as providing the aforementioned flags to avoid meltdowns, tying his hair up just the right way in the mornings, going to his house to wake him up (all these things appear frequent activities/rituals Mikey relies on), and being “his heart.” Mikey appears to have naturally low empathy. Pretty early on in the series, he and Draken pay a visit to a girl who was put in the hospital by a rival gang, for being affiliated with some of their members. Her parents encounter them and they are furious that anyone involved in gang activity would even dare show their faces, despite Mikey and Draken not being the ones to actually hurt her. He insists they shouldn't apologize to the parents, because it's not their fault and they personally didn't do anything, failing to comprehend the bigger picture, that the lifestyle of delinquency and crime in general and the violence it breeds, not just between those who partake, but innocents caught in the crossfire, is what led to their daughter's assault. And they are feeling grief and anger, thus acting irrationally and lashing out (which, while illogical to Mikey, is a typical emotional reaction to this sort of situation). But he eventually amends his opinion at Draken’s urging—reserving emotional consideration for when his friends are involved primarily. Difficulty regulating emotions, selective listening, and self-centeredness are also all traits that Mikey has exhibited. He often has atypical/repressed facial expressions. He has safe foods—preferring sweet things like dorayaki and taiyaki above all else. He has a comfort item in the form of an old, raggedy towel, which is, in his words “his whole life,” and refuses to give it up even when his family urges him to throw it out. “The tip of his towel” is canonically his “favorite spot”—He is seen stimming with it by rolling it up and kneading it with his hands and fingers. He also prefers to dress for comfort, in loose and baggy clothes whenever he is outside of his gang uniform, and he always wears the same flip-flops, even when it would seem inconvenient. Some other things that don’t necessarily point to autism, but maybe could be considered in the broader picture with everything else?
Routine night motorcycle rides with his brother and childhood friend, which he continues, same time and route, after their deaths, while talking like they are still there with him (though this is more him just honoring their memories and finding comfort in these old actions)
‘Dark impulse’ flare-ups could be interpreted as meltdowns that cross into violent territory? (Like after Sanzu allegedly broke his new toy as a child) But again, dark impulses are a whole other can of worms that could probably be likened to other things better than autism
He is canonically considered a martial arts genius/prodigy, which could be read as some sort of savantism, but also just typical shounen anime shenanigans Despite some of the shakier things to consider, I find myself really liking the idea of autistic Mikey, and I do think there’s a lot in the story in favor of that reading of him. I’d love to see him represented here!"
Yotasuke -
"He has terrible social skills and doesn't filter his words, and although he does not have bad intentions, he often comes off extremely cold or harsh, saying things like "Talking with you irritates me so can you please leave me alone?". He struggles to make friends, especially since he purposefully pushes people away. Yatora, the main character, brings the number of contacts on his phone to a grand total of three. His wardrobe consists of almost exactly the same shirt over and over again. He holds his pencil and chopsticks extremely weird. He loves animals and is often pictured with them, for example cats and rabbits. He was considered extremely talented at art when he was a child, and his art is still amazing but it has messed up the way he interacts with others. He feels as though art is all he has. This causes him to resent Yatora, who appears to have so many skills and career options, as well as a thriving social life. Yotasuke also has a very strained relationship with his mother, who can be quite manipulative at times. He is also very silly if that means anything to you. Everyone should go read Blue Period actually."

re: your post about j/p competitiveness - imo John certainly felt very insecure about Paul getting ahead around the late 60s, but when I see something like how he acted in Get Back I just don't see someone that has to be the top dog, my interpretation is more that he felt it was no longer a partnership - and honestly, I don't think Paul meant any harm by it but I completely see why he might feel that way.
I'm probably projecting too much onto him here but personally I like competitive partnerships until I feel like I can't compete and then it's painful just being around that person, and I've always thought that's what happened with John. He seemed to me like someone who wanted an equal, but imo Paul took to fame and its stresses a lot better and thrived in it while John floundered, feeling increasingly left behind.
Really good points! I totally agree about John in Get Back, to me he comes across as patient and tolerant and sweet (if a bit out of it sometimes). I can't imagine that John desperate to be the alpha male or anything. But then again, I can't imagine that John doing or saying a lot of the things he's known for, you know? I can't imagine him gleefully asking for a divorce or releasing HDYS. He is way less aggressive/macho than so many anecdotes and interviews would suggest, so it may be that it was an atypical time or certain aspects of his behaviour are more occasional than it seems.
In regards to leadership, there's so many conflicting claims about it... Some say it didn't matter, some say it was his ultimate concern, and there's a weird fetishization of John as leader among some (cough Lewishon) that makes it hard to tell what the reality was and probably influences my thinking. Maybe it was less about wanting to be boss and more about just wanting Paul to give in for once, let him have some things he really wanted. Maybe Klein gassing him up and treating him as the most important Beatle triggered a renewed expectation that Paul defers to him.
And yes I definitely think John felt it was no longer a partnership, after the breakup he was going around calling Lennon-Mccartney a myth and fake, lying about how they never wrote together because it felt that way to him, etc. He seemed very disillusioned about their relationship.

Eddy "Skipper"
Honestly I don't understand why the name "Skipper" would be embarrassing, something to be so ashamed of, and I would especially expect Eddy to like or even be proud of that name. Him, the one who likes to be flashy, cool, original (it actually depends), the best and superior to everyone and has done some ridiculous and exaggerated things to do so, so I honestly think a name like that actually suits him, because it literally means captain, a role he already had in "Avast Ye Eds" (thinking about it now, do you think the crew decided to put that as his middle name as a joke and reference to this episode?), or boss, commander, etc. It has everything to do with him who's a natural leader. I'm not a native English speaker and that's probably why it doesn't seem so bad to me, and I can understand that it must be a very different and atypical name, but it sounds so cool to me. But from the other kids' reactions it really seems like something that's supposed to be very shameful, I just don't understand why xD so considering this, his reaction makes sense because he's also always trying hard to fit into social standards of "normality" and meet the expectations of others to be accepted and liked.
I mean, Eddy even found it less embarrassing and preferred to kiss his best boy friend on the mouth in front of everyone! And a very good kiss on top of that! He was completely desperate for no one to know about this, no matter what, as if it was the worst thing in his life. I don't know how embarrassing it really is, I just find it funny, interesting and suspicious that he thought kissing Double D, being GAY in front of everyone (which is also something he tries his best to hide and repress because compulsory heterosexuality), was less worse than just having his middle name revealed...
Tumblr media
I can understand Double D being ashamed of his middle name since it's a "girl's name", but in Eddy's case I don't understand what the big deal is to be even worse than kissing a boy on the mouth in front of everyone.
(Edit to say that I forgot to mention that even in Double D's situation I still wouldn't find it justifiable to find it less shameful to kiss a boy on the lips in front of everyone than to have his middle name revealed without it meaning he's not straight).

Hiii, greetings from southeast asia! ❤️
i like your blog btw
And i wanna ask you as new fans of Dir, what do you think about all member? Please describe each member and tell me who is ur favorite?
Hello, sorry for the delay! I knew that this question required a thoughtful answer.
Welcome to Dir en grey! They're frickin' awesome.
Hm I'm terrible at describing people. Essentially, none of them are mean or offensive. They are all very considerate individuals. What's special about Dir en grey is that they are not social and they do not profusely share with fans, so whenever they do or that they interact among themselves, we all go gaga because by that point, we're craving for it hahah.
In terms of them individually, hm, I can't say that Toshiya imposes himself, but he is definitely not a passive bassist. He moves very emotionally to the songs and it's super heartwarming to see him smile on stage. Recently, he opened his online fan site and he seems very generous and, again, very thoughtful with what he gives to fans, after all those years of drought.
Die has a kind of mysterious air to him, but he is rather communicative and energetic. For years, apparently he has been sharing daily updates/pictures on his online fan club.
When it comes to Shinya, he's a stoic angel hahah. He really has his signature look and his facial expression remains neutral whenever he plays the drums, but he beats them like a beast. I love his compositions because they're so atypical and varied, you can never get bored of the melodies. I also love his style of humor, which you can see on his YouTube channel.
Kaoru gives the impression of really being serious, but he is quick to kind of fool around too. He is known as the leader but he is clearly super laidback. From what I know, he is rather generous and attentive with fans too, and his art is very cool and gloomy!
Over the years, I've come to love them all quickly enough, but Kyo was definitely my favourite member of Dir en grey from the start. At this point, it might be easier to find words that do not describe Kyo than limit myself to a few words that do describe him. His performance on stage is striking, his lyrics aren't necessarily genius but the way he delivers them, wow. I don't know any other singer who comes up with vocal melodies that are this diverse and so felt. And I've looked, I'm open to discoveries but nothing's a match for his creativity. What else to say without stretching this post on forever... Hm, I've definitely known him to be moody, but he just expects a raw and true response from people like what he gives us, and he can't be bothered to fake. As a last note, I'll make an honorable mention to every "smirky" thing he does, whether on stage or in his various other activities. He is not outright laughing while slapping his leg for example, but once in a while he does shenanigans and you can just imagine a smirk behind it. And if you love Kyo, please give his second band, sukekiyo, a chance! It's amazing and you can witness another side of Kyo!
Even though I gave myself some time to think of a reply, this is in no way perfect or eloquent... Please explore my posts from this year and the past ones and you should notice some traits from each member! Perhaps the compilations are a good starting point?

PART TWO
“Wait, I think the kidnappers just sent us a video.” Mouse mumbled as his fingers continued to violently slap against his laptop’s keyboard, tongue slightly poked out in concentration. Jay was the first to immediately jump for him to play it. His hands gripping the back of his best friend’s chair as Kevin pulled the monitor to the front of the group that had formed upon hearing the news. They all were insanely worried for the missing member of their team, although they had been working on it so hard they had had little time to let themselves break down quite yet.
“Play it.” Voight instructed. Understanding the order, Mouse nodded his head before clicking on something and suddenly they were all met with a bloody and bruised Y/n on the bigger screen. Jay heard Kim besides him take a quick intake of breath, noticing that her best friend’s condition wasn’t the best. Mouse pressed another button and suddenly the video was playing.
“Hello my name is Y/n and I have been kidnapped- Can you stop pointing that fucking gun at me? You are making me nervous!” Y/n snapped, her eyes darting to the left where an assumed kidnapper was standing. The entire room seemed to freeze as their expectations of seeing an emotionally defeated Y/n was abandoned, as they watched the woman that had been through hell and back shouting at her captors. Jay could read Y/n like a book for kindergarteners, and whilst he had first thought maybe it was the adrenaline talking or a plan to hide her fear, he detected that Y/n was in no such state.
“To ensure my safe return home please pay us one million d- one million dollars? Is that it? Is that what you think I’m worth? I’m not having that…” She mumbled, glaring at the man that stood to her right before directing her eyes back to the camera and smiling. “To ensure my safe return please pay us five hundred million dollars… that’s more like it.”
Adam was soon doubled over in laughter causing the video to be paused as he tried to control his amusement. The unit all looked at one another, as they tried to decode what exactly they were looking at.
“Is she trying to get killed?” Kevin asked, looking more at Jay to answer the question knowing he knew the endangered woman more than anyone in the room. Running his hands over his face, Jay let out a sigh, unsure whether he should be angry or amused at his girlfriend’s behaviour.
“Knowing Y/n…” He started, thinking about his answer carefully. “Probably.” Kim hummed in agreement knowing how the woman enjoyed getting under criminals’ skin, although she’d never imagined she’d do such a thing in this kind of situation.
“Let’s keep watching.” Voight mumbled. Heads turned back to the video as it resumed.
“Honestly this place is such a shit hole. You fellas have money for all these fancy big guns, but can’t afford a vacuum, huh?” Tilting her head, mocking the large men that stood around her with their guns pointed at her, the woman quite literally smirked, not afraid of them or their weapons. “Well you don’t happen to have a hairbrush do you, don’t worry I am not talking to you, baldy,” Winking at the third and final man, Y/n looked to who she assumed was the leader. “Maybe some lip gloss or mascara? You see my boyfriend - you know the hot detective I was telling you fellas about - is going to watch this ransom video and I’d prefer not to look like utter shit.” Leaning forward, she seemed to use what little reflection she could make out in the lens of the camera as a mirror, attempting to flatten her hair and get rid of some dirt from her face.
“Holy sh- She’s insane.” Kim whispered towards Jay, who couldn’t take his eyes off the screen but nodded his head in agreement. As crazy as she may be, he still loved her all the same. Jay felt a small smile try to surface, but he pushed it down upon realizing it probably wasn’t the right time when everyone seemed worried or deeply concerned for Y/n’s wellbeing.
“You have 24 hours to make this payment or else I die- Wait, what? Fuck off. Are you guys taking the piss?” Looking around, not seeing any humour or amusement on any of the men’s faces, Y/n’s narrowed eyes relaxed along with her body in the chair she was aggressively tied to. “Wow.” She breathed out, still not appearing to be bothered by the way this was escalating. “And to think I thought we were becoming fr-.” The video soon cut off and went to just a black screen signaling the end of the video.
The unit stood there in silence for what felt like a good five minutes trying to process what they had just watched. Voight's face seemed stoic as always, whilst Adam and Kevin were arguing which was the funniest part - which had to be a first in ransom video history.
“Mouse, I want you to analyse every second of the video. See if there are any clues to where they are keeping her.” Voight pointed at the man that nodded in obedience, before the sergeant moved to look at the rest of his subordinates. “The rest of you, keep working. I don’t want anyone leaving until we’ve located her. Okay?” Everyone nodded.
Voight disappeared back in to his office, as the rest of them returned to their desks aware that as amusing as the video had been, one of their own was still out there somewhere in imminent danger.
“I bet 20 bucks she gets shot before the 24 hours is up.” Adam spoke up after a good ten minutes of silence. His eyes pin balling around the room to see Kevin, Kim and Jay sat in silence watching him with incredulous eyes.
“Bro.” Kevin scolded.
“It’s what we are all thinking!” Adam argued, but everyone had busied themselves again. Leaving the grown man to grumble as he fell back into his chair.
