Excerpt from Fire and Ice

As soon as the bus stops two blocks from the center, I fly off not paying attention to what I’m doing, until I slip on a patch of ice on the sidewalk, run head first into something warm and then land directly on my ass in a puddle of muddy snow on the side of the road. My leg is killing me and I’m fairly certain my knee is bleeding by the time I pull myself up. “I see why you left the ice now. I believe it won this round.”

“What the fuck is your problem asshole!” I yell at the owner of the voice before I see who it is, but just as I try to set my foot down on the cement, I nearly buckle from the pain. “Dammit.” I hold myself up on the street sign, soaking wet in fifteen degree weather. My gloves are soaked, my legs are chilled and I finally connect with a man wearing a blue short puffer coat with a brown ski cap, gold eyes and silver hair. “I’m sorry, Sesshomaru.”

Just checked back in here and saw this. I would guess it’s because there’s a lot of flesh tone in it and therefore it registers as a nude. If I wanted to be cynical, which I kind of do, I’d bet that the algorithm treats brown skintones as more sexual than pink/peach ones.

Good News!

A frame and backside artist has been found! Thank you to Atomicpixies for stepping up to help me out, I can’t wait to work with you!!

Now that a frame is in the works, I have started setting up the artist application process. I aim to have artist applications open around late November to assure that there is no rush and that we can design a frame that we are satisfied with. 

A Project Timeline has been added, please check it out. It is not set in stone, but more of a general outline of how much time separates each check point. There also has been updates to the FAQ.

Also, I have decided to stick with only releasing the major arcana. This is the first time I am running a project of this scale, so I want to start small to make management easier and to ensure a much higher chance that every artist will receive a free deck. After all, it’s much easier to manage and pay 25 people rather than 80 people!

If sales go very well and there is still a significant artist interest by the time preorders end, I will do a second wave of artist applications to include the Minor Arcana! This also includes a second wave of selling.
