Imagine, you moving into an apartment right across from Simon. Right? He introduces himself. You make him cookies, and just overall become friends.

After a few months, you two become close. And you bake him sweets whenever you can for his deployments. And he brings them with him. To show off your amazing baking skills.

And then he buys you a dress. Tells you to try in on. And you do. You come out and he's just like "You're beautiful. Like a Goddess..." and you're just flustered. And after a while of you making conversation, he kisses you

aaaaaaah Simon munching down on your baked goodies and all the boys being jealous of him the first time they get to try some too 🥹

… no because the first time Simon brings along your baked sweets the boys just give him a weird look; trying to figure out for the life of them how he acquired those and if he murdered a sweet old lady to steel her sweets. the next time he brings them along the questioning starts.

till one day they actually do get to meet the baker behind the goodies, the reason for Simon’s gentle mood and hidden smiles. you’re so smitten with him, it’s hard to miss. Soap gives Simon a loopy grin, telling you to keep baking because he got way nicer since he eats more treats. Gaz seconds that and holds up two thumbs up behind your back for Simon to see. Price pats Simon on the back, “looking forward to her sticking around, she’s good for you” 

that evening Simon asks you to stay over, this time it’s his turn to treat you. he goes all out, cooking you a delicious meal, and seeing him there in the kitchen, your heart warms up so much, what a sight to behold, that giant man with a heart of gold, that you were allowed to call all yours now.

i took a little break from Ad Astra but I'm trying to get back into it and I'm excited so!! I want some input akdjks according to the lore i've made up for my own story, wings in the watcher realm appear different that wings that players would have in an actual world.

So I've been trying to think of what wings I should give Scar when he's in the Watcher realm; i wanted something flashy and like. celestial feeling? to go with the slight star theme the fics got going on. My first option was common starling wings but i have too many options that i like now and I want help so ajskdkj please let me know which one of these you'd like to see the most in the fic!!

astra!! what fics have your fav characterizations of regulus?

OOO great question!

(let me preface this by saying that my characterization might not be everybody’s, and that’s okay. my characterization is “the one” in my head, but that doesn’t mean it has to be everyone else’s “one,” and neither i nor the fics/authors i mention below are “better” in any way, shape, or form than anyone else. everyone in this fandom writes amazing works, and i’m sure there are so many wonderful fics with phenomenal regulus characterization that i haven’t read yet)

i’m gonna sound like a cunt here, but my own fics take first place for me💀i write for myself, so i write the regulus i perceive, yk? but here’s (some of) my reggieverse of madness:

@imdamagecontrol’s regulus is amazing in every fic they write, i.e. in paint it black, which to me really shows not only his “duality” but everything in between (and he’s got the cutest little nose freckles), and i’m really really excited to read more of their regulus study, all these terrible things

user georgia_sk on ao3 (i’m sorry if she has tumblr! i looked for it to try and tag her but couldn’t find it) wrote an amazing fic called whatever happened to the young, young lovers? that really encapsulates regulus for me as well

edge by @pinkpalaceapartmcnts is another one i’m obsessed with

when you were mine by @sequinhaze — their regulus has me giggling kicking my legs kissing the ground he walks upon

sugar high by user ivycore on ao3 (again, couldn’t find their tumblr, so if they have one, i’m sorry!) really explores the toll regulus’ upbringing took on him (+ it’s age gap jegulus with sex worker regulus!!)

devotion by @woobyo has a fucking amazing dark regulus characterization

of his bones by @sophsicle is incredible in how it portrays not only the “purist” mentality he’s fallen victim to + how he deconstructs that, but also the burden on regulus’ shoulders that he learns to take on and grow into

So you've said that Gilver's dynamic with Dante and Vergil is he'd want to just murder Vergil while trying to make Dante suffer as much as possible. What is it about each of them that makes Gilver have these different goals and intents towards each of them?

The short answer: Gilver hates Vergil, he doesn't hate Dante.

The long answer: To answer this properly, I think I have to first point towards that I interpret Gilver to have a LOT of issues regarding his identity as basically what is a demonic clone of the twins - though I'd argue he's obviously much more Vergil's clone than he ever was Dante's. I'm going to take a guess and say that's because Mundus collected more data from Vergil than he did Dante, thanks to Dante being much better hidden from the start.

Gilver's skills with the sword and his appearance, are things he's gotten from Vergil - and as someone who very strongly wants to establish his own identity, it's infuriating that he can't ever entirely escape Vergil's shadow. It's contributed to him having this weird sort of combination of inferiority and superiority complex, where he feels inferior to Vergil (which makes him VERY angry) and wants to establish himself as superior. So he really, really hates Vergil and wants him dead. He doesn't find Vergil interesting, he doesn't care about dragging his death out for fun, he just wants Vergil *gone*.

On the other hand, regarding Dante (or rather, Tony), Gilver seems to actually *really* like him. He's a bundle of contradictions - easy to read but hard to understand, bloodthirsty but hates senseless killing, closed off but easily puts his faith in others, a rude little asshole but also incredibly kind. Importantly, he's also not Vergil.

I think Gilver may have put off killing him because he was intrigued with the mystery that was Tony Redgrave, and somewhere along the way that intrigue turned into obsession and twisted affection. Which is a very bad thing because when Gilver likes someone, he wants to make them suffer for as long as he can possibly make them.

The elves never cared about money - they valued magic and trust as a sort of currency. So when Scar left the society in search of something more he was left in the dust without any dollars to his name, only surrounded by mean-spirited human folk who’d drop him a buck or two once in a while.

Grian’s mom married a wealthy man who later left her for a younger woman, who in turn hated her step-son for a multitude of reasons, one being that he wasn’t human like she was. When he was old enough he left, having more than enough money to sustain himself.

Grian happened upon Scar, who was in a park secretly tending to the abandoned rose garden (he loved plants very much) and they got along. Eventually their relationship turned into something more.

Grian finds Scar's relationship with money strange, having grown up in a household that values it so much. Despite having nothing to his name, he'll still refuse to accept payment for favours. He'd much prefer somebody's goodwill, or simply a favour in return. Grian, meanwhile, wouldn't accept the money because it would be seen as an insult, but that's a completely different thing, okay!

It's safe to say, their different backgrounds provide a nurturing environment for their relationship to grow. Scar is excited to visit home with Grian and show him some elven culture, he thinks he'd enjoy it greatly! Once he got over the culture shock, that is.
