- Excerpt from Sinnohan Folktales and Other Stories

Tales depicting the Prince of the Sea, known in the modern Pokédex as Manaphy, are found all across the archipelago following Manaphy's little understood migrational patterns. It is however a commonly held belief that Manaphy migrates north towards Sinnoh during Summer when the weather is mildest, and migrates south to the warmer waters of Hoenn during Winter.

Transcript:

The Sea’s Legend

When the world was new, there was a Pokémon known to all as the Prince of the Sea. He travelled far and wide over the open waters, and once a year when the sun stayed longest, he would come to visit the cobalt waters of the East Sea.

One day a brave human, enchanted by the tales of the Prince’s sweet songs, mesmerising dances, and pure heart, asked the Pokémon of the sea to let him see the Prince for himself. They did not trust the human, all but for a Mantyke, a Buizel, and an Overqwil, who were all inspired by his passion.

Together they set off over the sunset-streaked sea, sailing through the rocky ocean gate that stretched over the waves. News of this adventure reached the ears of the Prince, who went with his squires to meet the strange little party at the Seaside Hollow.

However, unbeknownst to human and his companions, a trio of bandits had followed them in hopes of capturing the Prince for themselves.

When the human, the Mantyke, the Buizel, and the Overqwil arrived at the cave that set the Prince’s stage, they were delighted to see the Prince and his squires awaiting them. They danced, and they sang, and the human began to feel the power of the Prince’s pure heart for himself. It strengthened his resolve, and he and his companions all resolved to continue their adventures together, past the East Sea and into the world beyond.

They were not the only ones admiring the Prince, however. Mesmerised, the bandits who had followed them struck. Mantyke, Buizel and Overqwil fought with bravery under the guidance of the human, which impressed the Prince so much that he joined the fray. He sang a special song, and the bandits found that their hearts had been swapped into each other’s bodies. Confused and disoriented, they were easily overpowered by the brave human and his companions, and carried back towards shore by the Prince’s squires.

They bid farewell to the Prince, who himself was headed off towards the warmer waters of the south, and sailed away in good spirits. Though their first adventure was over, they knew their journey had only just begun.

Is it possible for you to share some more on OceanSong, the au where Ash is prince of the sea and has a connection to water type legendaries? That au sounds fascinating since his starter and best buddy is an electric type and one of his first travelling companions is a water type specialist. I'm not asking for anything specific just more info on it

Ocean Song AU facts!

-Ash is a Partial prince of the Sea next to Manaphy! Because of this he has control over the ocean WHEN he's in or near it, though it only extends to about 15 feet in Radius.

-Ash can't drown because of this, but his lungs can still fill up with water and be quiet painful for a brief period.

-Lugia's song and Manaphy's Melody haunt him, when he hears the nites or tunes of either, he can hear them calling out to him. Its usually never bad, but distance makes it echoy and sorrowful making Ash believe its haunting to hear.

-When near water, if Ash hums or sings, the ocean will follow the tune

-Being Prince of the Sea doesnt mean that water pokemon will instantly follow him, but they do trust him a smidge more than a normal human Trainer.

-Ash can technically Aqua jet onnthe ocean around if he wanted to, but that takes a lot of practice that he doesnt have the time (nor the energy) to learn, instead he uses it to help boost his swimming speed slightly.

-Ash is terrified of Water. Not to the point he wont hop in, but getting soaked head to toe suddenly scares him. Its to the point that Bathtubs freal him out because of how the water level rises. He sticks to showers only

Next kid!! this time is Wamu, I have been a lil slow but I am having a blast doing ideas for this Au haha

more of him in under the cut:

Wamu comes from the Alola region, because of that he always greets everyone with a friendly “Alola!”

The bag he always carries around, actually belonged to his grandma (she was ok with that and give the purse to him) he just liked it very much and always has all the necessary stuff with him (because of that he has earned the title “mom friend” around the other kids)

Wamu for some reason is pretty good at mimicking Pokémon cries like Warden Iscan, and with that he is able to befriend Pokemon and communicate simple things with them

This has helped him to gather way more easy and faster ingredients and other kind of material. In some cases it has helped him to get away from battles.

Because he can communicate with Pokémon he is the only one apart from Akari to have a full team of 6 of the kids, but most The Pokémon he has meet was because he helped them or befriend them not because he was in search of capturing them

When he arrived to Hisui he fall on the ocean but was saved by a Mantyke and a Buizel, Wamu promised them to bring them something for been kind to him

When he was looking for someone after losing his memory in the Cobalt Coastlands he saw the fight between 2 alpha Walreins one loosing it life while the other proving to be stronger, since that day Wamu is scared of Walreins and he always try to avoid them specially that specific Alpha

As time passed every time he had a chance to visit the Cobalt Coastlands he always bring some food to Mantyke and Buizel, the 3 of them having a very specific “sound” so they can always meet each other every time he is there

Wamu never catch them but he was very close with them, one day when Wamu was doing research about “Prince of the sea” he asked them if they knew about him, they indeed knew and talked to Overqwil if the prince will be ok with Wamu to see him. The next day they let him know he could meet the prince, Wamu did as they said and meet Manaphy and the 3 Phione, He become friend with them and offers them food. After all of that a traveler saw all of this and accidentally Wamu turned himself into the “Brave hero” that meet the “Prince of the sea” creating that day “The Sea's Legend”

Because he is from Alola and his Grandpa used to teach him how to surf he is able to do Mantine surfing, Warden Iscan is surprised but also amazed how a kid can do that like is nothing, Wamu and Iscan get along pretty well, becuase of that so they sometimes do meet up to surf together in Mantine or with Lord Basculegion

He looooves dancing, so when he knew about Sudowoodo and that Pokemon had a very similar face to him he wanted to be friends with one, everyday he went to look for one and imitate the Pokemon dance, with this they become friend and Sudowoodo wanted to travel with him, he always dance with his Pokémon

Sometimes when he is battling he remember very “specifics moves” (those been the z moves) you do when you are connected with your Pokémon, so when he is trying to do “Agile or Strong” style moves he as an habit does the z moves he remember even tho they don’t work to him is just feel “right”

He usually saves injured Pokémon he finds during his surveys, most of them he never capture them, but when he meet a very stubborn Rufflet that even after he heal him, it followed Wamu every time he saw him, Wamu asked him if he wanted to actually come with him on his adventures. Rufflet agree

Melli get upsets at Wamu because Wamu loves to use Lord Electrode Childs as balancing balls, so Melli give one to Wamu so he can do those “weird dangerous tricks” in another place that is not near him!

Wamu hates cold, so rarely he goes to do surveys on the Alabaster Icelands

One day while been in the Alabaster Iceland he found and injured old Mamoswine that lost against a younger Mamoswine that wanted to be in charge of the old one’s Herd, The older one lost and his destiny was up to luck. Wamu saw him, and helped him. Even tho he disliked the cold he took the old Mamoswine to a cave for him to be safe, he waited bring food and change the bandages of the injures until he was strong enough to be able to return to the wild. The old Mamoswine was very moved to why someone so young will care for an old geezer like him, so he let Wamu capture him.

To this day Old Mamoswine let Wamu ride him if he wants, and protect him when he cans, even tho he is old and gets tired super quick on battles, his moves are very strong but doesn't fight unless is necessary. Wamu doesn't force him to battle unless. is necessary since he want the Old Mamoswine to have a calm life

Old Mamoswine actually enjoys to play and let the kids be around him, it makes him feel “young” again

Saw others making Twisted Wonderland X Pokemon content, and I thought I'd join in! This is my Pokemon Trainer OC and their team! Hopefully I'll do some short scenes with them and the boys here soon :3c

Yew Ironwood

Genderfluid (they/she/he/it. Honestly could go for just about any gender and/or pronoun given the mood/circumstance)

A resourceful and honorable Pokemon Trainer who has been out on their journey for many years. While they know them and their Pokemon's limits, Yew isn't afraid to push themselves if the situation calls for it. While out on their journey, Yew had managed to collect virtually every Badge available. Even though that proves their great power, Yew hasn't claimed any titles like Champion or Gym Leader despite qualifying for it.

Yew somehow found himself at Night Raven College while he was on his way back to Nimbasa City to meet up with his Uncle Morose for Uncle Morose's birthday. Yew initially tried to fly straight back home, only to realize that he didn't recognize the world at all. Begrudgingly, the Pokemon Trainer accepted Crowley's offer to stay at Night Raven College until they found a way back to his own world.

Yew is a trainer first and a student second. She loves to battle, which isn’t really considered normal in Twisted Wonderland. Some people believe that she is aggressive because of this, but in reality Yew means these battles in the friendliest way possible.

Yew had had a lot of difficulty settling into Twisted Wonderland. They're used to traveling around a lot since they were on their journey. Despite this, Yew is incredibly curious of Twisted Wonderland and is constantly asking questions about it. Some questions may be "stupidly" obvious to the people of Twisted Wonderland, so Yew often has to remind them that they're not from there. Strangely they seem almost... Ansty being in one place for so long...

Annabeth the Hydreigon

Female (She/her)

Yew’s first pokemon and partner. They're practically inseparable and usually go everywhere together. Annabeth is surprisingly docile for a Hydreigon. She'll only display her brutal nature if she feels like she, Yew, or any of their Pokemon are threatened.

The two smaller heads have retained a little bit of their personality upon evolving, which is highly unusual for Hydreigons. Because of this, Yew has named each of the heads so that she can refer to each of them if needs be (An the right head, Na the left head, and Beth the main head). Any time Annabeth is curious about something she'll bite it gently.

Kayden the Arcanine

Male (he/him)

A playful goof who loves to mess around. His lighthearted nature has stopped many bad days from ruining the team’s spirits. Kayden loves cuddles and will gather up the entire team for a cuddle pile when the nights get cold.

Kayden once belonged to Yew’s father, who passed away a few years before she went on her journey. Kayden feels like it’s his responsibility to raise and protect her on behalf of his old trainer. He is a constant source of comfort for Yew through countless trials.

Lapis the Manaphy, Prince of the Sea

Bigender (he/she)

Yew found Lapis as an egg caught in a tidepool when visiting the beach with uncle Morose. Yew tried to move the egg back to the ocean when it hatched. Yew and uncle Morose looked for Lapis’s family, but when they couldn’t find them, Yew begged Uncle Morose to let them raise the small blue Pokemon.

Shortly after that Team Rocket began hunting the both of them, since Team Rocket wanted to get to the Sea Temple. Uncle Morose tried his best to hide Yew and Lapis from Team Rocket by claiming that Lapis was just a Phione instead of the mythical Manaphy. By doing this among other things, Uncle Morose was able to keep them hidden until Yew set off on their journey.

Due to his young age, Lapis is still very childish and naive. She is still learning about the world and why she is so important to it. One day though, Lapis is destined to return to the sea to fulfill his role as the Prince of the Sea.

Maylee the shiny Mawile

Female (she/her)

A shiny Mawile that Yew met on their journey. Yew helped Maylee after she had injured herself in a fight. Yew carefully nursed the wild Mawile back to health before asking her if she wanted to join the team. Due to this, Maylee feels undying loyalty to Yew.

Relatively shy, Maylee doesn’t like to make a scene out of anything. She’d much rather hide away in the background. However, Maylee does have high standards, which she holds the entire team to. This sometimes causes conflicts in the team, but they all understand Maylee has the best of intentions.

Relic the Sigilyph

Nonbinary (it/its)

Relic met Yew when the young trainer had gotten separated from his Pokemon in some ruins. Relic led Yew back to his team. Yew didn't have much to offer the wild Sigilyph to show his thanks, so Yew offered his water bottle to it. Relic, who absolutely loves water, was overjoyed and decided to join Yew on his journey from then on.

Relic is quite expressive for a Sigilyph and expresses itself through various body movements. To most people these wild flailings mean nothing, but Yew has managed to decipher its meanings over the years. Relic loves ruins and old buildings and will often wander or patrol them when left unattended.

Patches the Mimikyu

Male (He/him)

Patches met Yew when they were attempting their Island Challenge in Alola. Yew had been attacked by members of Team Rocket and was forced to hide in an abandoned building in Po Town. The young trainer broke down crying from stress, and was found by Patches. Patches took good care of Yew until they fell asleep. When the trainer woke up again, Patches had alerted Team Skull to where they were. Team Skull offered Yew a place to stay. Yew accepted their offer, along with letting Patches join their team.

Patches loves fashion and dressing up. Yew and Patches often work together to sew up new outfits just so that Patches can have some options at any given time. Usually though, Patches just dresses up as a Pikachu.

Legion the Falinks

Mainly masculine (He/him [individual], They/them [group])

The initial group of six Falinks joined Yew while she was traveling around the Paldea region, but during the team’s journey through Galar they adopted another young Falink who had no group. This is quite unusual since Falinks usually only stay in groups of six, but Yew has had no issues with this larger group of Falinks.

The group works together with mechanical accuracy. They have boundless energy and are always working. If not given a task they’ll find something to do, whether that be constructive or destructive.

Nicknames for the members of Legion

Captain: The Brass and leader of the group. Always in charge and confident in his abilities.

Scout: The fastest of the group who loves to run. He's the one who gets sent out if Legion needs to scout ahead or get someplace fast.

Grunt: The most aggressive. He acts all grumpy but actually cares about everyone deep down.

Doc: The best at treating the other’s wounds. He really likes gardening and berries, so he's often in charge of Yew's Berry Pots.

Hot Rod: A bit of a jokester and loves messing around. He's always trying to impress the others. He usually has to get saved by them when his pranks go wrong.

Tiffy: The repair man. He's always fiddling with something or looking for something to dismantle and put back together.

Junior: The youngest who they picked up in Galar. He tries his hardest even if he’s too young or too small to do most things on his own.

Adorabolt the Rotom

Nonbinary (they/them)

Yew found Adorabolt stalking around the Old Chateau in Sinnoh, but didn’t realize that the little ghost had jumped into her phone until after they had left. Yew didn’t mind and let the Rotom stay in her phone. Adorabolt chats a lot with Yew about various things since they're the only one capable of human speech.

Adorabolt LOVES social media and the internet, almost to a concerning degree. Adorabolt constantly catalogs all of their journeys online with various pictures and anecdotes from their travels. Surprisingly they're camera shy.

Elevated Railways - Ch 16

Ingo has been in Hisui for two years when two children fall from the sky - with wings like his. Did they come from the same place he did?

Word Count: ~2100

Days turned into weeks. Weeks became a full month. Before any of them realized it, Rei was almost completely healed of his concussion. Ingo and Emmet would switch off which of the twins, if both, they took on excursions. Neither of them wanted to be without an adult anymore. Not after the Volo incident.

They were working towards a single goal now: finishing the Pokedex. Ingo would take mornings to do his Warden duties, sometimes bringing Akari with him (she was the earliest riser). It was because of this that they managed to get the entries for Cranidos and Shieldon in a space-time distortion. Emmet would take them out during the afternoons as Ingo rested to take one or both at night, if they felt up to it.

There were very few entries left. In fact, only one entry was left. Giratina. Ingo and Emmet met eyes once again as the younger two fell silent while discussing it. It was early afternoon, and the three others had just returned from their latest excursion, finally managing to capture the Prince of the Seas: Manaphy. As they spoke, it was gliding through the air happily, trilling and squeaking at them as they observed it. The brothers knew what this meant.

They nodded once. Then they turned their attention back to the children. “How many more entries are left?” Ingo asked them brightly, watching the Mythical Pokemon flutter about.

Rei was quiet. “Just one,” he said. He flipped to the page with the Pokemon in question on it. Akari shuddered and looked away.

“Are you two tired?” Ingo asked, “Perhaps just this once, we can go retrieve the Pokemon and you can wait here-”

“I don’t think we can,” Akari interjected. She fiddled with her fingers, recalling Manaphy. “I think me and Rei have to be the ones to do it. I don’t know if it counts otherwise.”

Ingo grew silent again.

“Then we all go together,” Emmet said. Ingo glanced at his brother. His hair had grown out in the time he had been in Hisui, now sporting a small soul patch. He tied his hair back and liked to tuck it under his cap, not dissimilar to Ingo. “We can finish this book soon. Then we summon Arceus. Then we go home.”

The younger twins looked up at their uncle. Their eyes were wide.

“He has a point,” Ingo said carefully. He kneeled behind them, placing a hand on both of their shoulders. They looked at him now with wide, fearful eyes. “We have time, but we can go take care of it soon. We can stay and watch and ensure nothing goes awry. How does that sound? You managed to capture Darkrai, the Pokemon of nightmares. I think you can handle Giratina.”

The children looked at each other. Neither of them seemed excited about the prospect, but Rei took his sister’s hand and squeezed. She sighed. “Alright. Let’s do it tomorrow. Then we can find Arceus.” Her Samurott nuzzled into her cheek. It seemed to understand her distress.

“Your team is stronger now,” Emmet added. “And you can heal beforehand. Make Ultra Balls. Prepare.”

Ingo felt his blood simmer again. That idiot had forced the twins to challenge him and then fight a god twice without healing in between. He kept his thoughts to himself. There was no need to pull up rusted cars again.

“And we have more Pokemon and we know what’s going to happen,” Rei said quickly to his sister. “I can start the fight if you want-”

“No.” Her response was a little too quick, too rushed. She blinked and continued, “No, I don’t want you getting hurt by it again. I’ll do it.”

“But Akari-”

“No. I’m going to battle it.” Her tone offered no room for argument and her brother seemed to note that. He fell silent. “I’ll put together a team of dark and ice types. I know its typing now and I’m taking it down.”

“You sure this is it?” Akari looked around.

“Yeah. This is the cave that Laventon mentioned.” Rei looked up from the map at the hole leading into the ground. “It says it's called Turnback Cave.”

“That’s very reassuring.” She took a pace forward then stopped, looking into the cave entrance. She shivered.

Ingo took hold of her shoulders, turning her to face him. Emmet did the same with Rei. “We will be right behind you. Nothing bad will happen in that cave, we swear it,” Ingo promised. Emmet smiled and nodded. The four all hugged each other, holding tight, before breaking apart and entering the cave.

It was dark, as was to be expected. Dark and cold. The air felt… off here, charged. It felt like being in a space-time distortion. Inside was a pair of bright, glowing red eyes. They watched the four humans enter the space. They did not blink.

Akari sent out Samurott. She did not speak. Giratina howled at her, roaring loud enough to shake the cave itself. Samurott responded in kind. The battle was on.

Roll. Roll. Roll.

Click.

Fireworks and smoke puffed from the top unceremoniously, indicating that the ball had latched.

Akari fell to her knees as she grabbed the ball, looking at it. Rei ran over and hugged her. It was done. Giratina was caught. The Pokedex was complete.

Ingo and Emmet rushed forward, enveloping her and her brother. They said nothing in the darkness of the cave as they hugged each other again, knowing the implications of this.

They could go home.

They dragged Akari out of the cave, Rei trailing with them, pulling them into the sunlight. She looked up at them and her wings fluttered. “L-let’s go tell Laventon. It’s done. We can go back.”

Emmet smiled at her. Rei got pulled into the hug as Emmet bent down and picked both of them up, twirling around. The twins giggled. Ingo tipped his cap, a small smile on his features.

He was so proud of his little family.

They all leaped up, taking flight expertly. Akari’s wings shuddered as she cried out, looping in the air. Rei followed her. Ingo and Emmet swooped below them, crossing paths and making a helix in the sky. Rei hollered out as well. “We did it!” He grinned brightly.

Akari laughed. “It’s done! We can meet Arceus now!”

“We can go home!” Rei shouted as he pumped his fists, his wings going rigid for a moment as he did, all of his limbs spread out like a Staryu.

Emmet laughed. Ingo smiled at them as they looped through the air, making their way back to Laventon and the camp.

The professor saw them all doing gymnastics in flight and waved at them cheerily. The children landed first, running forward to the professor before they had even shrunken their wings. Ingo and Emmet landed more gracefully somewhat behind them, moving slower. Both of them were smiling, in their own ways. As they approached, Laventon’s voice floated to them, wavering.

“Y-you did it. You’ve finished the entire Pokedex…” The professor’s eyes blew wide as he looked down at the book excitedly. “This is… oh, this is everything I have ever dreamed of.” He flipped through the pages, his smile growing. “You two did it. You completed the whole book.” He shut the book softly, handing it back to Akari. Then he reached down and placed a hand on both of their shoulders. “I know you two are nervous about entering Jubilife, but if you ever do, I would love to throw a celebration for this. The Commander has been meaning to apologize for his actions. He no longer thinks you two are a threat and I daresay many of us miss having you around.”

The twins looked up at him and nodded awkwardly. He grinned at them and hugged them, tears in his eyes. “Thank you both. This is my lifelong dream and seeing people dedicated enough to help it become a reality… this never would have happened without you two. Thank you.” They hugged him back.

He broke away. “If you would ever like to take me up on my offer, I am always in my office. Do not hesitate to ask me if you need anything. I know that these two,” he gestured to Ingo and Emmet with a smile, “have been keeping you safe and fed, but I am always happy to help, too.” They both nodded at him again as he let them go and they rejoined their uncle and father, taking off once again.

The flight to Ingo’s tent was much more calm than the flight to Laventon, but it was no less joyous. Ingo kept hollering his praises to the two children. Gliscor popped out and joined in, too, screeching in delight. It must have heard the news. It got close enough in flight to nuzzle each of the twins and smile. It made Akari giggle. Ingo’s tent came into view before long and all of them landed neatly. Sneasler was waiting for them. She greeted them as she normally did, with hair ruffles and snorts at their displeasure. The adults sat down together as the young twins went into the tent to grab something. Ingo did not ask about it. He knew they would be back before long. And they were. He heard their voices long before he saw them, though.

"He had a point, Rei. We can't just hide forever."

"I know but… I don't want you getting hurt."

"You can just admit that you're scared, too."

"No I'm not-"

"You look like you want to run away right now. I don't like it either, but we can't just hide away forever and then just leave."

Ingo patted Gliscor on the head. It lounged over the silver twins in the chilly sunlight, purring, not at all caring about the cold. Lady Sneasler sat next to Ingo. She was also simply enjoying the day.

Ingo knew that they needed to have this conversation for themselves, but he still itched to tell them it would be okay. He and Emmet had not mentioned the conversation they'd had with Kamado almost two months prior to them. He had no idea how much Laventon had told about the children to the Commander, either.

"Dad? Uncle Emmet?"

"Hmm?" Both brothers hummed in response, looking over their shoulders. The young twins were standing together, looking at them. "I think we should go to Jubilife. After Arceus," Akari clarified. "We'd like to see everyone at least one more time before we leave for good." Rei nodded along.

"That sounds like a decent schedule to keep. Do you still anticipate going to see Arceus tomorrow?" Ingo turned his body so that he was facing them. Emmet and the Pokemon did the same.

"Yeah. We'll go do it in the morning," Rei said. He sat down with the adults and Pokemon. "And then in the afternoon go to Jubilife. By tomorrow night, we could go home." His tone wavered. Ingo cocked his head slightly.

"Are you nervous about the prospect of switching tracks again?"

They paused. "Yes," Akari admitted quietly. "What if we get separated? What if we lose our memories again? What if-"

"There is no reason to consider unexpected delays unless they happen," Emmet cut in. "Trying to control for all possible schedule changes will never help the train to move."

They all sat in silence for a beat. "We're gonna miss you guys," Akari whimpered. Rei wouldn't make eye contact. Ingo reached forward and laid a hand on Akari's leg.

"Miss Akari, we already know we are from the same time and region. I do not think you would be able to shake us that easily. You know where we reside, and we never really move around much. You both are always more than welcome in our home in Nimbasa."

"But it won't be the same. Not like it is now."

"You are right, it will not be." Ingo straightened and lifted her chin so she was looking at him. Her eyes were already red. "It can be better. We can order pizza and coffee and watch old TV shows. We can introduce each other to our partner Pokemon. We can take you to the theme park and ride the Rendez-view. You can meet our sister, I'm positive she would love you both. We can still preen each other and nest on the floor, but in our original station." She smiled softly. "We will help you find Arceus and then go to Jubilife. We will figure things out after that."

She nodded. Ingo leaned back.

"Now, what would you all like for dinner? It seems a celebratory meal is in order."
