WHERE IS SLOANE?! 😩😖

I don't know, but I so badly want her in s4. I love basically having Rapunzel as part of the show. She's a great complement to the rest of the cast, being a gentle femme soul with big dreams. All these messy Hargreeveses and Lila, and here's Actual Disney Princess Sloane showing them all how to be kind even when you've been through horrible things. She's just such a good addition. And she's good for Luther, too. Not only is she not his sister (even in a technical sense, since they have never both been the children of Reginald Hargreeves at the same time), but they have similar values, goals, and interests. She makes him feel like he's okay for being sensitive and sweet, that he doesn't have to grumpify himself in order to be worthy of love. And she sees right through Ben, which I love. I wish we'd seen her asking Lila to be her MoH, and I want more of her with the other siblings, too. Just. Give us Sloane, Steve.

do you think dave wanted to ask klaus to marry him?

the little gay romantic part of me is like YES AND HE DID ASK HIM AND KLAUS SAID YES but honestly i don't think marrying another man would have even been on dave's radar unless klaus said something. i do think dave wanted to make a life with klaus, but idk if he would have envisioned that life being recognized for what it was by anyone other than the two of them. and even if klaus did mention gay couples getting married in 2019, i feel like it would be a flying cars level of removed from dave's own experience. like, that sounds nice, and i can tell it's real to you, but it's not real to me

i do however think that in the world where dave makes it back to klaus's time, he puts a ring on it so fast. klaus says yes specifically so he can call dave 'my husband' in an over the top twang. they have a small intimate ceremony (rambling at each other while crying onto their marriage license) in the presence of loved ones (drunk hargreeveses). ben officiates

Crack headcanon: after all the apocalypses are over and the world is safe the Hargreeves bros set up a podcast à la MBMBAM to stay close (Allison enjoys listening to her brothers' nonsense while she's in LA). They never outright say that they're the former child super hero Hargreeveses, but their advice/anecdotes get increasingly outlandish and homicidal (Diego and Five). Listeners can never tell when they're being honest or bullshitting and at this point they're too afraid to ask

i know you like autistic!vanya but autistic!five?

I’ll be honest, I’ve never really thought about it all that much! I kind of latched onto Viktor because I related to him. The social isolation from his peers, the SPD, the feelings of inadequacy or ordinariness as opposed to siblings, the way he retreats into himself.

I kind of get autistic!Five in the same way I get all of the Hargreeveses being autistic, that it would make sense, but it’s not something I necessarily see to a strong degree!

However, I would definitely love to hear more about how you perceive Five as autistic! I’m sure there’s more to the character than I myself have seen! (Though I do ask that you refrain from mentioning much of any gory details wrt Five because I, unfortunately, have hyperempathy and have had to deal with meltdowns due to Five-related gore posts!)

if (let's hope) tua gets another season, what would you like to see regarding number 5?

oh MAN uh. good question. so many things. in my wildest fanficciest dreams i want five to kind of… relearn how to be a human again? like he’s coming off 45 years of complete isolation and a few more years of the commission dehumanizing him to use him as a weapon, so he absolutely has Issues connecting to other people on any sort of substantial level, and i’d like season 2, where presumably he’ll be more directly in contact with the other hargreeveses on a relatively regular basis, to go into the process of him relearning to trust [some of] his siblings again and connecting with them as people and figuring out who he is and what he wants beyond “saving my family and also the world.” i think it’d be the easier writing choice to have him STAY isolated, to have him keep brushing his family off and having him deal with his trauma in Not Good ways because that’s what he’s used to doing, and while that’s definitely an understandable thing for him to do, again, i think it’s the easier writing choice and i want him to HEAL, GODDAMMIT, so i hope he gets to regain some of that connection and trust.

and like i’m biased, so i want that connection to primarily be with klaus, ben, and/or ESPECIALLY vanya, because i am super invested in five and vanya’s relationship and them getting the chance to help each other heal. there’s other meta out there about how he seems like he cares the most about ben and vanya, even after he gets back they’re the only sibs he talks to/about less-than-harshly, and i maintain that five is written UNBELIEVABLY out of character in episodes 9 and 10 and disregard the comments about killing vanya from my analysis because this is my post and i’m allowed. they hand him the idiot ball on so many plot points and it’s probably the most annoying part of the show for me. anyway. going back to when they’re all kids gives him the chance to make up for having left in the first place, and i think he’d want to make up for the lost time with ben once they’re both alive and in the same time. as for vanya, i think he and vanya have the most to help each other heal from: she doesn’t have any angry memories associated with him during her rampage, he wasn’t involved in locking her up, and they were both isolated and lonely for a really long time, so i think five and allison are the most likely siblings to help vanya feel like she’s part of the family again so the apocalypse doesn’t happen [which vanya also fucking deserves, but this is not a vanya post, this is a five post, so BACK TO FIVE].

as for klaus, five GETS ALONG with klaus in a way he doesn’t with diego, allison, or luther: the “nice dress” comment feels more like a genuine compliment than sarcasm to me, there’s the shot of klaus leaning on five’s shoulder after the bank robbery and five seems… pretty touchy about his personal space with everyone else, five keeps asking klaus for help with the apocalypse stuff even though klaus is nooot the best at Missions, and he’s very very concerned about klaus in the “you gonna tell me about it?” scene, both after AND BEFORE he figures out that klaus did time travel. plus klaus definitely is not wrong when he says five is addicted to the apocalypse—five definitely has an issue with fixating on something that’s very similar to addiction, so aside from them just getting along, i think they also have the potential to help each other with those issues and give each other a support system while they hash out their issues. basically i really want High Number Squad bonding in s2.

[i will say, i think there’s potential for him to connect with luther over the shared isolation experience as well [tHe MoOn] but luther is also… canonically a lot of the nasty traits i’ve seen people associating with fanon!five: he’s selfish, he’s only focused on his mission, he doesn’t actually care about his siblings beyond what they do for him and is willing to hurt them [emotionally AND physically] to get what he wants, because he’s so used to being the golden child and losing that status is worse for him than losing his relationships with his family. s1 five does want luther to think well of him, but i want five to get past that and stop seeing luther’s approval, because luther [knowingly or not] uses the fact that five cares about how luther sees him to manipulate five into doing what he wants, the same as he does to the rest of the family, and trying to get approval from someone who’s already demonstrated a willingness to use that approval as a cudgel to get what they want is a fool’s errand, so i don’t want to see five try anymore. luther has his own learning and healing to do, and as much as i don’t really like him as a character right now, i hope he gets the chance, but i have my biases and i don’t want five to get hurt any more while luther tries to heal. i’d rather five get to focus on the positive relationships it seems like he had prior to jumping to the apocalypse and the groundwork that s1 laid on top of those positive relationships. I WANT HIM TO HEAL, HE DESERVES IT.]

The Umbrella Academy/Bloodborne crossover nobody asked for

I’ve just finished Bloodborne and I can’t believe I haven’t notice the potential for a crossover earlier.

Think about it.

Children born out of nowhere, from unsuspecting, stunned, often frightened mothers. The Formless Oedon descended that day and blessed the wombs. Many children were born that day but only a handful survived. Alas, such is the nature of the Great Ones, they must lose their children.

The children have frightening abilities. One of them literally opens a portal to another dimension in his body. The Horror is just another Great One or Kin, wanting the entrance to the physical plane. Or maybe simply mindlessly flailing around when called upon. Maybe ever defending Ben, the Great Ones are after all, sympathiv in spirit and crave surrogate children. Whatever it is, it’s almost identical to the Augur of Ebrietas spell.

Grace is The Doll, built by Reginald in the image of his long lost love, filled with nothing but love and understanding, a surrogate mother to these children. Then there’s Reginald - our Gehrman in this story - who himself is cursed with this unusually long life, who adopted the children and trains them for one thing: to prevent The Apocalypse. The Apocalypse that will come from The Moon...
