It took me a little while nonnie, but I got this for ya. I also wanted it to be the last thing for October, closing the month on a soft note. So here you go, Nanami atercare.

Nanami x Reader. 990 words. implied NSFW, so please still no minors. otherwise, just fluff

"Is the water warm enough for you, love?" Nanami's voice fills the empty bathroom, being met with only a muffled hum as an answer. he watches you getting comfortable on his chest, eyes closed as you sit in the bath, back resting against him. it's peaceful, and it's good to see you relaxed, even if he can still see the purple marks he left on your body peeking from under the water.

Nanami feels a bit bad whenever this happens, whenever he loses control after a particularly bad day at his job. he knows you let him do it, let him use your body for relief, do as he please with you. you could use the safe word, and you haven't yet, but he still feels bad - worried that he might have actually hurt you. so when the deed is done, and you are left exhausted, bruised and leaking his cum, he always makes sure to take care of you.

His hands are gentle the moment he touches you again, giving soft caresses to your face and wiping away any tears or cum that may be staining your skin. Nanami is always good with aftercare, always loving and tender, but it's doubly so on the nights he is rougher. he apologizes in whispers against your lips before even checking the damage, he doesn't care if he has actually hurt you or not, he needs to get the apologies out anyway.

He only leaves for a minute, and only to get the bath ready - turning on the warm water and lighting your favorite scented candle. when Nanami comes back you are already more aware, but he still doesn't let you set foot on the floor. just as he won't for the rest of the night. he carries you to the bathroom, strong arms lifting you up with ease. the sweet, comforting smell of the candle meets you, and soon enough you are enveloped by the warmth of the water.

Nanami doesn't enter the bath at first, he always asks you if he can. you always say yes, but he still asks anyway, on one hand, you never know on the other, he wants to hear your voice just to make sure you are ok. when you invite him, he finds a space behind you, enveloping your body between his legs and holding you close to his chest. most of the time the water is too hot for him, but it doesn't matter, so long as you feel comfortable.

Gently he washes you, large hands tending to each part of your body, carefully scrubbing your skin, lacing his fingers with yours when he reaches your hands. there is no rush, Nanami kisses your neck and face, whispering sweet nothings and soft praises in your ear as he cleans you. the deep sound of his voice fills the space around you as he murmurs against your skin - "You were so good to me, love. Took me so well, I couldn't ask for someone better. Let me take care of you now, alright." if you want him to, he'll wash your hair, massaging your scalp with the tips of his fingers as he praises the beauty of your locks. Nanami pretty much worships your body through the bath, and he thinks you deserve nothing less than that.

He only gets you both out of the water when you feel like it, letting you soak for as long as you want. once again, your feet never touch the floor, Nanami dries himself off before wrapping you in the soft towel and carrying you to the bed without as much as a huff. he sets you down and gently dries the water off of your skin with a spare towel, kissing along your arms and legs as he makes his way up.

When you are dry, Nanami rubs lotion on your skin, and that's the moment when he takes in the damage he has done, being careful around any bruises and scratches, peppering them with gentle apologetic kisses every time. he won't apologize again, not right now, and not with words at least. there is nothing he can show with words that he can't show a hundred times better with his actions. if you let him, he massages your sore muscles, large hands carefully working to release any tension and pain. he likes the sounds you make, the moans of relief and the mumbles of praise and thanks - he should be the one to thank you, but he lets you say whatever you feel like.

By this point you are generally more talkative, feeling less tired and more in tune with the world around you. he likes to engage in conversation, anything will do so long as Nanami can hear your voice, make you smile, hear you giggling at anything or nothing at all. those sounds are healing for his soul, bringing home the certainty that he hadn't pushed you past your limit yet - that everything would be fine.

Nanami will bring ice for your bruises if they are too bad, make sure to clean up any scratch that could look too ugly. he will apologize if anything hurts too much, and then bring back water for you to drink and anything you may want to eat. if you ask him to order food he will, just name your desire, even if he has to drive and get it himself that's not too much to ask. he will give you an entire candle lit dinner if that is what you fancy, no such thing as too much for the woman he loves. though, more often than not, by the end of it you'll just be calling his name. calling for him to come and cuddle with you, so you can talk about anything and nothing until you fall asleep in his arms, Nanami's voice whispering in your ear being the last thing you hear - "I love you."

Can we get Larissa and Marilyn relationship headcanons, please, if no one has asked already?

Maybe how it started and other general relationship stuff?

Note: Going to preface this with the fact that I don’t ship this, however, I do enjoy the ship. Small difference. This doesn’t mean don’t ask me about it though!

And this will likely go more into au territory as, in my opinion, it wouldn’t work that well within the canon of the show unless quite a few things changed. Now that I’ve said all of that, let’s get into it.

Larissa Weems x Marilyn Thornhill Headcanons/ Rambles (w/ spoilers)

Larissa hired Marilyn at first just as an attempt to foster good relationships between outcasts and normies, Nevermore Academy and Jericho. Marilyn would’ve known this.

As the principal Larissa wouldn’t be able to just ignore Marilyn like the rest of the faculty appears to do, so all of the beginning interactions are pretty forced.

One hell of a slowburn. Oh my gods. This is not a relationship that just happens. You're here for the long haul or you're not here at all. (I'm probably gonna speed through it tho cause this a hc/ ramble post, not an entire fic lol)

Marilyn just wants Larissa to like her and genuinely accept her. Sure she's accepted as a teacher but again...that's mostly just for other reasons.

They both develop a respect for the other's work ethic and determination over time though and that's...it, for awhile.

It's likely that it's that mutual respect that leads to a somewhat stable friendship.

Somewhat stable friendship leads to more mutual trust, which leads to actual friendship, and in turn leads conversations not work related. Personal subjects. Learning about each other. You know, typical gateway stuff to either being just best friends or one wanting the other to push them against the wall and kis-....nevermind.

Marilyn has these thoughts first, for sure, but it's early and she can tell that these feelings are not reciprocated.

Larissa knows something is up but given that they're friends now, probably best friends, she doesn't pry. It'd feel wrong, and it's not like the feelings are getting in the way of either of their jobs so...eh.

Marilyn feels like she's walking on thin ice and as though as any significant mistake could undo all of the progress made between the two women, and included in that list of potential mistakes is confessing that she thinks she fallen for Larissa. She hasn't at this point it's more of an infatuation but still.

Marilyn's infatuation dies down eventually but it leaves behind genuine love.

Larissa would start to reciprocate this love before realizing that she's getting genuinely close to someone (again) and no matter if we go with her and Gomez, Morticia, or both, she's going to be resistant to the new whatever their relationship is becoming no matter what.

So she distances herself, going back to primarily professional interactions, which makes Marilyn worry she's fucked up. She hasn't but she's worried about it.

When Wednesday shows up they both have to put whatever mess they've got going on off to the side to make sure shit doesn't hit the fan, which fails, but still.

Shit hitting the fan actually pushes them to interact with each other more which, in turn, leads to them having to acknowledge their feelings for each other.

It all comes to a head at the Rave'N when Marilyn asks Larissa if she was excited about hers, and of course Larissa opens up about only remembering disappointment since Gomez chose to ask Morticia to it and not her....and then, y'know, ✨murder✨ happened.

They talk a little bit more and Larissa can almost swear the punch has been spiked, so she asks Marilyn to watch it for a bit while she goes somewhere else in the room to watch the students.

The whole paint revenge happens and of course Larissa is distraught, and everyone goes back to their dorms while she waits for the police and Noble to figure out what happened and why it happened.

Once all of that is figured out she'd go back to her office/room, still upset. (sidenote: I'm convinced that her bedroom is connected to her office).

After Marilyn gets back from everything with Eugene and Wednesday she goes to tell Larissa about what just happened as best she can.

Now Larissa is surprised that anyone came to her office at this time of night, as everyone was undoubtedly still shaken up from the events of the night. She's happy to see Marilyn though, almost happy enough to get up and hug her. She didn't see the other woman at all during the final events of the night and was worried she'd been the monster's next victim.

Professionalism? Yeah that's thrown out the window here as Marilyn decides her paperwork can wait and ,although she'd feel bad for interrupting Larissa doing her own paperwork, it wouldn't stop her from rushing over and hugging the other.

They'd probably hug for so long that Larissa lets Marilyn sit down on her lap just so she can hold her closer, professional relationship be damned.

The stress of the night and the relief of seeing each other would probably make them confess their feelings to each other.

It feels like forever passes before they let go of each other, going to their respective bedrooms, and calling it a night (well after Larissa finishes her paperwork. She ain't letting that go unfinished).

The next day whenever the both of them has a chance, they talk about the night before to figure out if they both meant what they said. If they in Larissa's office, which they probably are, they share a cautious kiss, not actually kissing until they're sure the other is okay with/ wants it.

Larissa does have to work through her own feelings of being in love with a normie, and Marilyn with an outcast, but they work through them both on their own and together.

General Relationship Things

Y'know that picture of one woman straddling the other while doing her makeup? Larissa is on the bottom and Marilyn is straddling her.

Lots of romantic stuff behind closed doors in order to keep a professional appearance on the outside...although they smile more at each other than in other teachers.

They do each other's hair. I'm right and I know it.

Sitting in each other's offices while one does paperwork and such, and the other grades homework.

Matching. Pajamas. Idk why or how but that thought just fit them.

Dates out in Jericho disguised as work meetings with a different atmosphere.

Late night walks together, and definitely some kisses as long as no students are around.

Promise. Rings.

They definitely have those magnetic necklaces that connect with each other to form a heart. I considered bracelets but it'd be much easier to hide a necklace with their outfits.

Larissa listening to Marilyn ramble and infodump about plants.

Marilyn listening to Larissa talk about various famous outcasts throughout history.

They know each other's Weathervane orders in case only one of them has the time to go out to it.

Extra Thoughts

Now there's definitely an area of conflict here, and it's the fact that Marilyn Thornhill is Laurel Gates, an outcast hating bigot. If we roll with that thought, and her plans for Nevermore with Tyler Galpin/the Hyde and Joseph Crackstone, who's to say she wouldn't be prepared to betray her own feelings for the beliefs she was raised with? That she wouldn't stab Larissa anyway and push down the guilt, crying before going to target Wednesday and the rest of the kids at the academy?

She could also decide not to go through with her plans after all, after a lot thinking, but still kill Noble Walker as he was about to uncover her secrets anyway. Sure the prophecy can't happen is Wednesday isn't there, but it also can't happen if Marilyn decides that she doesn't want to do it. Tyler wouldn't be able to force her to do anything either as he's under her control.

I don't think she'd come clean to Larissa about anything either, choosing to keep everything in the dark. It'd be easier that way.

Although let's say Laurel Gates is someone that Marilyn is working with instead. Under this idea Tyler could be a Nevermore student (if Hyde's aren't banned, obviously) and Marilyn unlocked him for his own safety, and she could've simply been manipulated into helping with the plan. Marilyn subtly outs her for this, leaving evidence where Wednesday can obviously find it and put things together.

Would all that information coming to light hurt Marilyn's relationship with Larissa? Without a doubt, however, since Marilyn was manipulated into things I can see them going to therapy about it separately and together until they've moved past it. Larissa would also pull some strings so Tyler is expelled for murdering people, as a favor to Marilyn and for Tyler's late mother, regardless of whether or not she knew her personally.

I guess I'll start with the biggest one which is actually two but I'm calling it one. Vi is both aroace and autistic, and my justification is ✨️ because I said so. ✨️

She's always more concerned about how other people are feeling in a situation than herself, to a fault. Especially around Lena. Since Vi practically dragged her into the family, she goes out of her way to avoid making her (still sorta new) sister uncomfortable. [Save for some "traditional sibling banter" which she will always make time for]

Even though she calls most people by their full first name ("Hubert", "Dewford", etc.), she calls Louie "Louie" because that's how he prefers it. If anybody else also had a problem with their full name, she would adjust accordingly. Dewey has not caught onto this to get her to call him "Turbo"... yet

The only thing I'm sure about is that I want Shen Jiu to be a random human, with no connection to Yue Qi's past what-so-ever. So Yue Qi reincarnates, and remembers... probably not much? At least not enough to know why he is so emotionally impacted by this freely given devotion, with no expectation for anything but a friend in return. Xiao Jiu is wonderful and his — this Yue Qi knows with all the possessiveness of the gods.

I wonder how Xiao Jiu would deal with it, when they meet again, how Qi-ge has become more. Half of him is totally alien to him — barely even human after living as a sword for so long, not having adjusted to a human body yet — and the other half might as well be, with all the changes he's undergone while they were seperated.

I don't think he'd mind... eventually. When he's been reassured that a fragile, dirt-stained mortal can still be loved by something like that. It'll certainly help with his inferiority complex to know that measuring up to Yue Qingyuan had been impossible from the start, that it is not something within himself that is lacking.

(Don't play with your food, Shen Jiu chides as Yue Qingyuan bats Tianlang-jun around like he's nothing. You never know what tricks they have up their sleeves.)

(Yue Qingyuan laughs, but listens. He'd always been a little too reckless, and it's a delight to have someone care about any repercussions.)

(In another world, it would be him trying to reign Xiao Jiu in. But he's a god, here. Even the most cautious of them still take far greater risks than the most fearless of humans.)

it's been made canon that this man cat sits for her and he's allergic...it's getting pathetic at this point. I'm so sick of this whole team coddling her like she can do no wrong. I honestly hope luke goes off on her cause u can tell it's getting there with him. he was physically holding himself back from saying something that would hurt her feelings.

There’s so many things where Luke is so obviously in love with her, some are in the script(like the cat thing) and some of them are just in the way Luke behaves and I really really want to know if the acting choices are done purposely by directors and writers, or if that’s just garvez stan Adam Rodriguez saying screw you guys i’m still playing him as head over heels in love with her.

And yes, I agree that the team is coddling her, but honestly we didn’t get to see much of a reaction except for Luke’s pulled back hurt and anger and Emily’s clear anger and disappointment. I would actually really love for someone else to go off on her. Because Luke might yell at her for her decisions, and it would probably hurt her, but he’s not going to tell her that she’s actively hurting him, and I want someone to say it. I actually need something to look at Penelope and say “I love you, but you are treating Luke like shit and it’s unfair.” Because it is! It’s so unfair!

But at the same time I would LOVE to see Luke and Penelope hash it out. I would love to see him stop holding back his feelings for once in his life (former military man i see you) and tell her that what she did was wrong and totally selfish and that she’s hurting him and everyone else and, to some extent, herself by making these choices.

But, I've decided for this tourney to let participants decide when I can so if the majority wishes to include them, I'm flexible (not on MCYT characters, though, the line between real/fictional being to thin for my taste here)

Note: I know my post says no Larissa x Wednesday content, but that's for the ship. I'm not doing ship content for them. This ask isn't about the ship and therefore is okay.

Larissa Weems and Wednesday Headcanons/ Rambles

Larissa doesn't like Wednesday at first, at all. In fact to her Wednesday is nothing more than a reminder of what she lost and a threat to what she has left in the beginning.

Regardless of whether or not she likes Wednesday she does feel some sort of protective parental instinct over Wednesday, similar to how she feels about all of the students except maybe a little bit more.

She wants the best for Wednesday and is constantly frustrated that Wednesday just. makes things worse most of the time. intentionally or unintentionally.

There is some mutual respect there between them as Larissa respects Wednesday's determination and Wednesday (seemingly) respects Weems' determination as well.

What Wednesday does not respect is Weems ignoring the past to try to pave a better future, and also her manipulation of circumstances and events in order to keep some semblance of peace.

In a more peaceful setting I can see Weems making an effort to take Wednesday to Uriah's Heap because that's literally where Wednesday would've gone for her Outreach Day assignment if she hadn't traded assignments with Enid so they both got what they wanted. Larissa was attempting to give Wednesday something she might find some joy in.

Larissa wouldn't condone any gravedigging though. She just wouldn't.

Wednesday would slowly come to appreciate Weems in a similar way to how she came to appreciate Enid, although it'd still be slightly different, less of a peer-to-peer bond and more of a weird adult and even weirder child bond.

Neither likes or understands the others sense of style/ personal aesthetic.

Larissa loves listening to Wednesday play her cello.

Larissa would also 100% try to listen to Wednesday to find out what she already knows, and offer her things based off of that.

Wednesday would find the constant offering annoying, which in turn would slowly set up boundaries between them.

Mutual and unspoken distrust of Marilyn Thornhill even though Larissa hired her. (Imo it just seems like Weems did it as a way to foster more peaceful outcast/normie relations and nothing else)

On better terms they'd probably play hide and seek from time to time.

Also on better terms Weems probably would've been allowed in on Wednesday's investigation and less people probably would've died/ been hurt. I mean, Weems knew the monster was a Hyde so...

Larissa does not like Thing at first, and like most takes time to get used to him.

How about a director’s cut for My Head Is an Animal? What made you decide to work Of Monsters and Men (and that album, in specific) into the story? How did you first get into them?

Fair warning, I use a *lot* of words to answer this. 900 of them to be approximate. Peek under the cut and scroll at your own risk.

There's a bunch of different angles to this so I'm probably just gonna spit them out variety show style and then maybe have them cross over at the end.

I've danced around this before but I'll just out and say it, Violet is kind of loosely based on me. Not in a Literally Me ™️ self-insert way, but I give her some traits and characteristics that I have in real life. As much as I like her, I feel like the show kinda left her blank, especially compared to how much development Lena and Webby got. I don't think the stuff I've added feels very out of place on her anyway.

I remember reading a few fics in which characters would come out to each other, and that was pretty neat. At the time I was way less out than I am now, so the only way I could really express that was through fiction. Hence, why I took the aroace Vi headcanon I already had and made a story out of it.

I'm a sucker for character playlists. Whether it's songs that tell their story, or just the kind of music they'd be into, it's the easiest way for me to get a grasp on a character. I actually do this when I write as well. Each fic has its own "soundtrack", except Dream(s) because of how short it was.

OMAM had their big hit in 2012 with "Little Talks", which has kinda lingered around ever since. I've gone through phases of loving it and forgetting it even exists over the past ten years, although it's probably never leaving my head anymore.

I pick up a lot of music from soundtracks and playlists. I'm not a big discography guy. The easiest way to get me to like a song is to attach it to something else I like (hence why character playlists do it for me). In this case, OMAM appeared in the NHL 20 soundtrack ("Alligator". Recommend it), which brought them back into my brain around 2020-21.

There was a social media post I saw while I was still getting accustomed to the whole aroace thing, which asked for songs that fit the community. Kinda similar to the aro vibes post that went around about a week ago. One of them was "Love Love Love", which caught my eye because it was OMAM. I gave it a listen, and I would love to tell you that it hit me right away, but it just didn't really. But after a few times over, it started to click. I'm not sure if this is when I listened back to the whole album or if that came later, but this was the catalyst for that.

Whenever I have panic attacks or otherwise just bad times, I listen to Fleetwood Mac. It's my ultimate comfort band. My top 2 tracks are "Rhiannon" and "Dreams", which are pretty much guaranteed to put me in a better mood. That's one of the concepts I gave Violet, as both a justification for the music and a point of conflict.

Back to character playlists. If you remember the post I made recently about the Violet Sabrewing playlist getting wiped from Spotify, that's relevant here. It had songs by The Oh Hellos and The Crane Wives, which really planted the idea in my head that Violet would be into indie folk rock. What else is indie folk rock? OMAM!

I already liked "Little Talks" and loved "LLL", and I dug the indie folk rock vibe, so I figured why not dive into the whole album. Which is funny because I almost never do that. Not a discography guy, like I said.

You still there? Great. Anyway...

When I sat down to write "My Head is an Animal", it was originally going to be about Violet finding the song, kinda like I did. The "Love Love Love" scene was going to be the majority of it. But I felt like it was missing something. I wanted to see Violet go through the process. I wanted to show her struggling, realizing, accepting, etc. I wanted to show the full experience.

Hence, the full album. I had some ideas for where I was ultimately taking the story, but this was the most seat-of-my-pants writing I've ever done. I had the songs playing on loop as I wrote each segment, writing down how it made me feel. How it made her feel. The ups, the downs, everything.

I didn't want to just parachute in during the middle of Violet's process, because that feels like shortcutting it. But I also wanted to give closure as seen in the final cut. In reality, there's still a lot more to figure out for Vi, as there is with anyone, but after putting her through a panic attack or two, I wanted to see her happy.

Hopefully that all made some sort of sense. At the very least, it was worth writing down for my sake. And big thanks for the ask!

🐎 I broke my leg and ruptured my ACL in a fall from a horse 2 years ago, and after surgery and a tonne of rehab, it’s still not normal. I really want to ride again, but part of me is terrified of doing all that damage again.

👶 I was born in one state, but moved when I was 10 months old. Since then I have lived in several different states, and even though I’ve been where I am for now for more than 20 years, I still don’t consider myself a local.
