If you've sent me an ask and I haven't responded, please know that I have seen it and it haunts my every waking hour. This will do nothing to actually make my hyperfocus-driven ass answer it. But know that you have been avenged.

Tundra, on the right, is in a profile view biting Phoenix's cheek with a smile, she is a shark person with grayish tones, sharp teeth, blue eyes and short messy black hair with long sideburns. Phoenic, on the left, is looking at the viewer smiling with a frown and a small tear forming on a single eye, while squinting, they are a white skinned person with vitiligo, sharp teeth, a black animalistic nose, lip bites and nose bridge piercings, he has red straight hair and a mullet. it is a close shot picture with yellow undertones.

"Final agreements dead ahead for Battleship Texas at Pier 21" in Galveston, Texas
"Landry’s Inc. and the Battleship Texas Foundation are closing in on an agreement to moor the historic ship at Pier 21, officials said Thursday.
The foundation also is about 60 days away from finalizing an agreement with Port of Galveston officials to keep the USS Texas at the pier, Tony Gregory, president/CEO of the foundation, said. The $35 million project to restore the 110-year-old Navy battleship started Sept. 3, 2022, at Gulf Copper Dry Dock & Rig Repair, 2920 Todd Road.
'We have a preliminary agreement with Landry’s,' Gregory said. 'The next step is a lease with the port.'
The Port of Galveston’s governing board Tuesday thought there would be a lease agreement to sign with the foundation, but deferred the item during its regular meeting that day because it hadn’t been finalized.
The most likely destination for the ship is Pier 21, which is adjacent to Landry’s properties such as the Harbor House Hotel and Willie G’s Seafood & Steaks, 2100 Harborside Drive.
Landry’s representatives didn’t respond to a request for comment Thursday.
Agreements with both parties could be finalized in 60 days, Gregory said.
The foundation would be financially responsible for maintaining the ship, Gregory said. The foundation mostly relies on donations, Gregory said. Gregory couldn’t talk about how much it costs to operate the ship, he said.
The city supports adding the battleship to its portfolio of attractions, said Mayor Craig Brown, who also serves on the Wharves Board of Trustees, which governs the port.
'But there are many details to work out before the foundation makes any final decisions,' Brown said.
There’s about a 90 percent chance the floating museum will be moored in Galveston, it’s just a matter of where, Gregory said."

Upon assuming office, President Richard Nixon reportedly told his staff that foreign policy was to be handled by the White House, "not by the striped-pants faggots in Foggy Bottom."
The offensive language apart, such uneasiness about the State Department appears to be the rule rather than the exception. Recent presidents seem quickly to have concluded that, except for the Secretary and a handful of others, people in State are not to be trusted. Many New Deal, Kennedy, and Carter Democrats believed State to be hidebound and resistant to progressive policies; many Eisenhower, Nixon, and Reagan Republicans were convinced it was infested with suspect left-wingers and liberals. Regardless of party, presidents often are predisposed to blame State for unauthorized leaks of sensitive information.

When I was in college, round about 2002 or so, I did a paper on hate groups that necessitated a couple of visits to Stormfront, a white supremacist website and message board. One of the pages on the site was a "children's page" operated by the child of Storrmfront's founder, which was a unique form of horrifying. But I also remember looking at a photo of the kid on the site and thinking, that poor fuckin' kid, what kind of chance did he ever have?
But it was just a paper and that was just a photo of a child I didn't know, so I turned in the paper and graduated and got on with life.
In 2016, @archwrites posted a link to an article by the Washington Post titled "The White Flight of Derek Black" (sorry about the paywall, Arch's post quotes some relevant parts here). I thought it looked like an interesting read: it was about a white supremacist named Derek Black and a group of campus activists at the school Black eventually attended, who set out to see if they could change his mind about race with radical kindness. In large part because of their work, Black eventually renounced white supremacy and became an antiracist.
And then I hit a photo in the article and gasped, because I recognized it. I'd seen the same photo on the Stormfront children's website. The kid I'd seen and pitied was grown up and had gotten out. Immensely satisfying to see.
But it was just a news story about someone I didn't even know, so I posted about how pleased I was to see it, and I got on with life again.
This morning, I woke to the news (sorry, it's the Daily Fail) that R. Derek Black, now 35, has just published a memoir, The Klansman's Son: My Journey from White Nationalism to Antiracism. And in the epilogue, they come out as trans.
I can't imagine better news I could have heard about them -- that they're out, they're thriving, and they're embracing themself.
Tumblr media
Congratulations, kid. It's a great new photo.

Effects Of Militarisation On Educational Landscape In Kashmir
“Educational malaise in Kashmir is symptomatic of a broader colonisation of education, where political decisions hinder the academic and career prospects of residents” Mehr Un-Nisa* Education is a cornerstone of empowering individuals to recognise, claim and defend their rights. The World Conference on Human Rights emphasises the need to integrate human rights education into all areas of…

According to this article, California is likely to have its lowest primary turnout in the state’s history — 29%—"in part because more than 4 in 10 voters are not enthusiastic about voting for president or Congress, according to a Public Policy Institute of California survey." Further: "So far, Republican voters have turned in 32% of the ballots, according to Political Data, Mitchell’s analytics firm that monitors turnout across the state. . . .While there are roughly equal numbers of voters older than 65 and younger than 35 in California, so far 57% of the ballots turned in have been from seniors and only 2% from younger voters." (emphasis added) It's not just California.
You don't have to be "enthusiastic" about the candidate you vote for, but you must vote against the candidate you oppose.
Not voting is not a statement of dissatisfaction with the system; it says you are wiling to accept whatever other people decide, even if it's bad for you.
VOTE. Do not let the other side win because you couldn't be bothered to fill out a ballot.
