Leena Namari is a Palestinian artist and printmaker. She uses printmaker within a broader sense as she likes to push the boundaries of what a print actually is. Pictured above is large scale cyanotype prints. She is often inspired by her motherland and driven to create work reflecting the conflict the country has seen throughout the years. The paper she uses for the cyanotype prints is very delicate-almost like tissue paper. With the prints themselves seeming very detailed and gentle. Which I found interesting given the subtle narrative it portrays of the conflict the country has had to endure. I find these prints to emote a certain loneliness or perhaps sadness, this in part is due to the blue of the cyanotypes. Yet I believe there would still be an emptiness and longing to her work within a different medium.

Although her work often has a political undercurrent, I find it shows her personal experience. Which I can relate to myself.
