As an artist, I am drawn to these moments, to the ones that make us question our beliefs, that challenge our assumptions, and that make us wonder about the world we live in. The German right-winger in this picture stands tall, a sign of defiance, a symbol of the other side. He represents a belief system that is different from the one we are used to, a system that challenges the status quo, and that seeks to bring about change. But he is also a reminder that we live in a world where division is rampant, where people are quick to judge and slow to understand. He is a reminder that the battle for ideas is ongoing, that there are no easy answers, and that we must learn to listen to each other if we want to move forward.
