little doodle based on my theory that april's not coming back because 1. she's not Hamato by blood, who knows if she has a spirit to bring back? 2. she's human, growing a whole new april would be different than growing a new mutant.
and also cass hasn't said anything about april coming back lol

I just found your blog after Tumblr's artist highlight, and I wanted to say it's absolutely fantastic! I'm so happy you were on the highlight, your art is GORGEOUS
You posted it a little while ago, but if you're still doing artist asks, could I ask about 2, 8, and 18? Hope you're having a lovely day!
thank you so much!!!! ;o; <3 and yes absolutely! (i didn't get any asks when i reblogged that post haha so thank you very much for sending me some numbers!
from artist ask meme | send me an ask!
2) who is your favorite character to draw?
of my own original characters it's niccolo for sure ^^ he was my comfort character for a long time so i got very used to drawing him when i needed to vent and stuff like that. fanart-wise, guzma of course, but also chat noir and chibiusa!
8) show us at least 2-3 drawings from 1-2 years ago
Tumblr media
cover art for my senior thesis, spring 2022
Tumblr media
just be friends / answer, winter 2022 (i'm thinking of maybe turning this into a print soon?)
Tumblr media
yuurivoice-inspired guzma, summer 2021
18) how long have you been drawing/when did you officially “declare” yourself as an artist?
i started drawing when i was five, but i didn't identify as an ~ arteest ~ until like, middle school? that was when i got my first digital drawing tablet and when i started posting online, so up until that point i just liked to doodle and draw for fun but then after that i had more of a personal drive to make art. and then i struggled with wanting to pursue art more seriously up until senior year of high school when i took AP studio art class, but even then i still didn't know if i really wanted art to be my career. so then i went on to community college to figure out how i felt which is where i focused on fine art, and then after that i finally transferred to university for my illustration degree.
thank you so much again for the message!!! <3

A G1 Hula Hula doodle I made a few days ago.
I think I’m forgetting how to draw humans. But I can’t stop drawing ponies. Oh well.

It’s been a good while since i’ve doodled those ugly muppets, so I decided to make some matching choukei icons!!!! They come in round boys, canvas boys, and transparent boys, so you can pick whichever boyo you like!!
Feel free to use but please give me credit 💕

Surli's Shitty Quick Guide To Making People See Your Art And Maybe Buy It
these are by no means Rules or Secrets and I’m not an Authority on the subject but it works out alright for me? thought i’d write up a few things and maybe they’ll help someone shruggers
1. Social media presence. POST OFTEN. Post nearly everything you draw. Use multiple sites, ideally the most used ones (Twitter, Tumblr, Deviantart Insta if you can stand it, Furaffinity). I literally can't stress this one enough; I have friends who are convinced the reason I have a 500-3000 followers and they have a couple dozen is because my art is Just Better tm no matter how many times I tell them it's because they go months or even years without posting or gave up on the site entirely. You need to use it. Even if you don't post art every day, check in and engage often.
2. Try to post during daylight hours. Timezones enter into this, and it doesn't have a HUGE impact in my experience, so it's wobbly, but posting at 2am is generally not super wise. 3. CAPTION YOUR ART!! Give people something to engage with!! ESPECIALLY on twitter where replies are the biggest algorithm booster. Questions are super good because they give people something specific to respond to and people love talking about themselves (as well we should)! Captions also make you seem more like, yknow, a person; more approachable and likeable. Posting art with no caption, just, here an image take it, can make you seem distant. not saying I always follow this rule because I... don’t, but I definitely find myself more willing to engage with or buy from an artist who captions than one who just kinda. slides their art across the metaphorical table whilst making direct, silent eye contact. it feels more personal, less... “the onus is 100% on you to interact with my work and i will make no attempt to communicate with my viewers” (even if that’s not at all your intention) 4. If you do commissions, POST THE FINISHED WORKS!!! Have it in your TOS that you'll post by default unless asked not to, or ask the client's permission each time. If you're looking to build a market, PEOPLE NEED TO BE ABLE TO SEE WHAT THEY'LL GET. Personal art and commissions are often very different whether we intend it or not! Posting commissions also lets people know that you do commission work and puts you on their radar as not just "artist" but "artist I could get art from...? 😳" I often see people saying no one commissions them and I’m like... you do commissions?? Where are they?? I can’t find any art on your blog, commissions or otherwise??? Consider separating art and personal if you’re chatty and don’t draw often, so people can find your work! 5. Engage with people! Reply to them, like their shit. Not just those who engage with you first! Become an approachable person, not an untouchable ✨Arteeste✨! And be friendly when you do it! This is one of the looser guidelines because some people are looking to build a professional brand, but it’s both helped me and enriched my experience to make friends (especially since for me, at least, this is for fun and a huge part of that fun is the people) 6. If you find the time, drawing fanart for bigger accounts can give you a boost if they share your art. I personally don't think that should be your only motivation-- it'll be pretty obvious if you spend all your time drawing fanart for big accounts. So, draw fanart for people you genuinely admire and think you'd have fun drawing for. Birthdays are a fantastic excuse. 7. Post WIPs and sketches sometimes! People like to see your process/"behind-the-scenes". I really thought this was not the case but consistently find myself nerding over other artists’ WIPs and being encouraged when I post my own (thank you)! Just don’t overdo it, learn how much behind-the-scenes is the right amount and how much starts to feel repetitive, make your gallery read as largely unfinished, or make people impatient to see finished work! 8. Learn from what works. Obviously you should draw what makes you happy, but if there's a character/style/thing you try that gets a lot of attention, maybe sprinkle it in a little more often! I know it's disconcerting when your 9-hour painting gets vastly fewer likes than your 30-minute doodle, but that means your doodling style is appealing. It sucks, but see the silver lining and learn from it if you can-- art is a roll of the dice.
