Why was everyone so flirty in John Wick 2? Santino OBVIOUSLY, he was even thinking about it and attempting to flirt in his own way. Ares fucking GRABBED John's ass (lucky bitch) and was flirty with him, Gianna got fucking NAKED in front of him-
C'mon everyone wants a piece of John Wick
The Italians want to fuck the bogeyman
Can't blame them tho :)

This little post I made on Akira and John exploded more than I expected, so I shall offer more interesting observations that I noticed about lighting choices/colour symbolism in the John Wick movies. Before we get into it, I would like to recommend these analysis [1, 2] by @evren-sadwrn on Marquis de Gramont, John Wick and Helen Wick talking about the same topic as I am below.
Tumblr media
Charon
Most of Charon's scenes throughout the franchise were otherwise dark backdrops only brightened up by the lamps/light sources around him, which exemplifies the fact that he is the most reliable, dependable and trustworthy character, ally and friend in this dark criminal underworld, fitting for someone named after the ferryman of the underworld in Greek mythology.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The only scene where Charon notably breaks this pattern was his final scene when the Marquis shot him when he and Winston and everyone else were drenched in the Marquis' harsh golden lighting, which was heartbreaking to say the least.
Tumblr media
Marcus
Similarly, Marcus' scenes in the first film had mostly grey backdrops, representing the stability, monotony, and lack of transformation of his life, in contrast to John who just lost his wife at the time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The two exceptions happened during the two most important points of his character arc, the first one being darkly-lit when Marcus decided to not shoot a resting John from the Continental's window and warned him instead, and the second one being brightly-lit when Marcus got beaten up and then killed by Viggo in his home for helping John. These two scenes were also backdropped by yellow lighting as opposed to the blueish hues from his previous scenes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cassian & Ares, Gianna & Santino
I'm putting these four characters together in the same section because they share a common theme in terms of lighting choice, especially during their last scenes. Both Cassian's and Ares' final fight with John ended in brightly-lit settings with white lights. On the other hand, both Gianna's and Santino's death scenes took place in darkly-lit settings. The parallels, man, the parallels!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Caine
The lighting choice for Caine was kinda hard to pin down, and I think it's because it's meant to represent the emotional conflict Caine faces throughout Chapter 4. The fluctuation between light and dark, neon and natural lights reflects his dilemma very well, with his darkest lit scene arguably being his duel with Koji, where he also took down his sunglasses, thus signifying his lowest point in the movie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But I think it's also worth noting that despite being the obvious second main character after John in the fourth film, Caine was merely a side actor basking in other people's spotlights, whether that be the Marquis' harsh golden lights, Koji's neon lights, or John's yellow candlelights/sunlight. Caine was a supporting role up until the post-credit when he gets to reunite with his daughter. That's when he gets his own spotlight and arguably the brightest scene he's ever appeared in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, that's all I could find as of now. There are definitely more characters to dissect and study but I will stop here. If you want more analysis like this, please reblog.

i rlly like stealing headcanons from yu/silly anyways do u have john wick headcanons no pressure ofc mootie patootie
Tumblr media
riccardo scamarcio going through an existential crisis for the soul
I will always forever love this photo, it’s in my favorites album in my gallery 💕
Silly John wick headcanons here we go‼️
John likes to stand in front of the tv like how little kids do (inspired by this image from destination wedding 💀)
Tumblr media
Viggo is on level 7163 of Candy Crush
^Whenever he’s not in a meeting or doing business, that’s what he’s doing
Iosef complains about it too; saying if he can’t play COD, he can’t play his ‘stupid puzzle games’ (he’s just salty he got his Xbox taken away)
If Gianna did spontaneously take Santi with her to go out, she would force him to take her instagram photos whenever the sun was shining perfectly and the wind was blowing through her hair
^it left Santino in tears
Gianna watches my little pony when she’s extremely bored (especially the rarity episodes)
The D’Antonio siblings always take pictures of the other sleeping and it’s become a joke to a routine now
Ares and Chidi have a sibling bond; whenever Santino and Vincent are too busy arguing, they just mess around
^Chidi likes to give her piggy back rides around the halls cause Ares basically weighs nothing to him
Cassian is also like a brother to Ares
The bodyguards having a sibling-like relationship <3
Tracker and his Daisy love to people watch
^ he’s one of those dog owners that give their dogs 5 course meals
Akira really likes popsicles; she would be eating one any time of day or weather
Winston is a crossword puzzle grandpa

which characters do you write for bc i see on your main blog you’re pretty flexible with other characters
starting from most comfortable with writing to just writing them rarely :
marquis de gramont(what a surprise), gianna d’antonio, santino d’antonio, akira shimazu, ares, iosef tarasov, kirill(yeah), caine, and then john wick
i don’t write much x readers for john wick bc there’s already a lot of fics for him so i focus mostly on the first five

Like yeah, I know John had a wife, but sex still played no role in his films, just pure love. So it was disappointing for the first episode of ‘The Continental’ to have three sex scenes — one happening off to the side in the most lifeless 1970s New Year’s Party I’ve ever seen (people looked more shuffling than dancing), then young Winston has one mostly kept offscreen, so I though ‘okay, that’s a little better’, but then they have two detectives outright naked, showing their backsides and doing the act onscreen for a solid minute, and I was like WHY. This is the ‘John Wick’ franchise. You’re appealing to the wrong people here, we really don’t need to see that. It literally had nothing to do with the plot. And my non-asexual friend hated it too, so I know it’s not just an ace thought in this case. The opening fight was pretty good though.
So I have not seen any part of the Continental TV show, nor will I ever watch it, so I can't give my 100% Verified Critic TM opinions, and thus I will be going off your testimony, Anon. And uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yeah. It sounds exactly as bad as I expected it to be.
First, just for context for others who maybe haven't seen the films - sex is not at all a thing in JW quadriology. There are no sex scenes, John has no love interests, I don't even think there's an instance where a character catcalls or makes a reference to getting laid. The most sexually charged scene, arguably, is a quick shot of Ares touching John's butt during a patdown. Even the scene where a woman removes all her clothes is written and shot intentionally un-sexually charged as possible and is instead far more sad and tragic. So yeah, throwing sex scenes and sexually-charged nudity into a """""John Wick"""" tv series is. fuckin stupid.
The real problem here, though, isn't that the creators are making unnecessary sex scenes, that's a symptom of a bigger issue. The issue is that the show is not at all interested in what made the John Wick movies work. The John Wick movies are pure action camp, they are over-the-top depictions of guys fighting each other in brutal and violent ways, just done artistically. Rule of Cool is law, and that makes for some of the most stunningly gorgeous visual cinema to date. The JW films can be summarized as "pretty man in suit do murder" and as long as it looks good, that's all that it needs to be. Sure, Kolstad and Stahelski added some crazy worldbuilding that gets more and more ridiculous as the movies go, but again, this is just an excuse for Keanu Reeves to get in a black suit and pretend to shoot a fuckton of stunt guys. None of this needs to make sense. The world John lives in does not need to be logical or realistic, it just needs to service the next action scene. Because, let's face it, this is a classic Greek tragedy unfolding before our eyes, John nor anyone else is gonna have a character arc, there aren't subplots that need to be tied up by the end. We're just here for the spectacle. And that's ok.
However, we live in a disgusting timeline where studios feel the need to a make cinematic universe out of everything, so instead of just fuckin…. giving Kolstad or Stahelski or literally anyone the money and resources to make more projects, they try to come up with shit from an IP. And all Lionsgate really has going for it right now is The Hunger Games and John Wick, so they want something with JW franchise names we know. Hence, a backstory about Winston and the Continental, which literally?? no one asked for?? ever????? If anyone actually cares about Winston's original rise to power, or what John did to hide Sofia's daughter, or what exactly happened in the three-men-in-a-bar-with-a-pencil story, we fanfic writers have already gotten to work on that, I don't need a panel of executives doing that for me. And a part of the appeal of the John Wick underworld is that it's there, it exists, it's just how the world works, and we do not question it. The moment we start asking questions about how it works proves that we've lost the point, which is YO BRO JOHN'S SWORDFIGHTING THE IRON CHEF GUY WITH KATANA IN A GLASS ROOM THIS IS SO SICK
So. yeah. doesn't surprise me at all the sex scenes felt out of place and don't work for a John Wick spin off. Nothing about this premise works as a John Wick spin off. Put shit in, get shit out.

the bodyguards in john wick
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the fact that their bosses literally TRUST THEM WITH THEIR LIVES like yes that’s what bodyguards do but they are literally so loyal
cassian hunting down john long after gianna dies, going so far as to nearly killing john on continental grounds in rome. trying to KILL john because he senses something was up.
ares buying time for santino to get to the new york continental so that john doesn’t get to him. she escorted santino out of the museum knowing full well that john wick could appear down the hall of mirrors at any second
chidi going so far as to drive to the arc de triomphe so that john doesn’t reach sacre cœr in time. taking HIT after HIT from john just so vincent has even a chance of surviving because both he and vincent know that trying to win against john is a losing battle. chidi not disarming himself in the stable scene until tracker’s loyalty to the contract is secured
and the worst part is that they don’t succeed in saving their bosses

what are the top five characters from john wick that you would trust with your drink at a club? :3 (assuming that you go to one)
AYAYYAY
I would trust:
Santino - I think he's quite respectful when it comes to things like this. He doesn't want no trouble, especially if it's a person he cares for (me :3). I would trust him. I trust my handsome man
John - Do I even have to explain? My man is a sweetie and a respectful guy, and he'd kill if anyone tries to put anything into my drink. Kill ya with a pencil :P
Ares - Yes. She's really loyal, so I trust her. Yeah, also dead if ya try anything with the drink.
Gianna - The D'Antonio siblings don't want no trouble with that, and she genuinely seems like a person who wouldn't allow any kind of nasty business on her watch
The Tracker (Mr. Nobody) - I'm also trusting him, he's giving a good vibe with that
Thanks for the ask I LOVE YAPPING :D!!!
Pls feel free to ask me more! <3

This is a tracking category. It builds and maintains a list of pages primarily for the sake of the list itself. They are not part of the encyclopedia's categorization scheme.
This category is hidden on its member pages—unless the corresponding user preference (appearance → show hidden categories) is set.
These categories can be used to track, build and organize lists of pages needing "attention en masse" (for example, pages using deprecated syntax), or that may need to be edited at someone's earliest convenience.
These categories also serve to aggregate members of several lists or sub-categories into a larger, more efficient list (discriminated by classifications).
"Unprintworthy" redirects are redirect pages on Wikipedia that aid online navigation, but would have little or no value as pointers to target articles in a hard-copy book. The name of a redirect may be unprintworthy for a number of reasons, including being nearly identical to the name of the target page, containing typographical errors, or not being encyclopaedic. Redirects are not unprintworthy just because the name may be offensive to some, unless the name is also not encyclopaedic.

Week 8: Digital Citizenship and Software literacy: Instagram Filters
The social comparison hypothesis put forward by Leon Festinger in 1954 states that "when unable to evaluate ourselves directly, we seek to satisfy this need for self-evaluation through comparison with other people" (Grogan, 2008). There are more than 2 billion people using Instagram per month, making it the number four social media platform globally (Statista, 2023). For what reason, therefore, is Instagram so engrossing? A popular feature is the well-known "filters" that transform you into a cute puppy or kitten, or a model even if you're not wearing any makeup at all at 6 in the morning. It all started with Instagram, but now filters are all over the place. We can use them to make our selfies and other photos appear brighter, muted, grungier, or more retro than they actually are. The term "filter" has grown significantly more important in today's digital culture (Rettberg J.W., 2014).
Tumblr media
In its most unfiltered forms, selfies may disclose a lot that make them too genuine and forthright. The only way we can bring ourselves to publish these photos of ourselves is sometimes to put them through a filter that enhances the colors, overexposes the skin to disguise its flaws, or gives them a vintage vibe. Additional study indicates that young individuals who suffer from low self-esteem and have a negative perception of their bodies are more prone to using filters, which may amplify their negative perception of their own beauty.
With the new functionality that lets marketers see which stories were created by people who used their brand's filter in the last 24 hours, Instagram filters are a great way to get followers to generate content for your company. Those that utilise the filter and include your brand's handle in their articles will find this function very beneficial. Snapchat in particular embraced the idea of filters and edited photos as Instagram's popularity skyrocketed. On the other hand, social media and its accompanying beauty filters may promote unrealistic standards of beauty, which in turn can cause users to feel insecure about their own bodies and increase their risk of developing disorders like body dysmorphic disorder.
Tumblr media
While filters certainly provide a dash of humour and, at times, a sense of self-worth, they are far from innocuous. The Wall Street Journal cited an internal Facebook memo that said the social media company is cognisant of the negative impact these applications have on women. As stated in the report, "32 percent of teen girls said that when they felt bad about their bodies, Instagram made them feel worse". Experts agree that social media filters contribute to negative mental health outcomes such as decreased self-esteem, confidence, and body dysmorphia, which in turn contribute to negative outcomes such as cosmetic surgeries (Genesis Rivas, 2024). Some forms of self-objectification, such as body dysmorphic disorder, may progress to more severe forms of mental illness.
As a young generation who regularly uses social media apps, especially  filters on Instagram or Tiktok, I see they have both positive and negative sides. Even Though it's for entertainment, considering and consciously using filters like AR is necessary so that you don't depend on those unrealistic and know how to appreciate your body and just be yourself.
