Heads up that I changed my username from @arborealoverlords ! The AO3 handle will stay the same bc I’m more nervy about consistency there but I wanted a change. Also, as it turns out, it is VERY hard to find your own posts in the Rube Goldberg machine that is the tumblr search engine if your username is based on one of the longest-running tumblr jokes.

I literally just started listening to the audiobook of All Systems Red for the first time yesterday, so I'm loving the murderbot content!

Yessssss more people reading murderbot!! I’ve had terrible reader’s block for. years now and murderbot has been without a doubt the most effective thing to break through it. It’s such a perfect combo of fast paced action and character study

... all of it is probably in I (don’t) come to you seeking peace. I loved writing Peter’s fucking awful monologue on intimacy as a conduit of loneliness, but that’s admittedly adapted from a truly incredible Austin Walker monologue.

after that, probably Jon’s statement as he followed Martin through the Lonely, that one flew out of my fingers and I was extremely pleased with it.

OH NO my favorite line is "If being on your side means standing aside while Lukas torments and breaks you, then I'll be your enemy." THAT ONE

12. what headcanon will you keep implementing in your fics, even if canon ends up contradicting it?

I have assigned like. actual street addresses to the entire tma gang which fit with what we know from canon, but also if jonny published the co ordinates to tim’s flat or something tomorrow i simply would not see it bc these addresses are Well Planned. (They actually don’t make named appearances in any of my fics but any time someone’s like “oh we could visit the X across the road from me” rest assured that there is an X there and the next scene will be set there specifically.

15. describe (one of) your wip(s) in the weirdest/most contrived way possible! (asker can choose what wip)

There are ghosts, werewolves, and vampires around now, but this isn’t the problem. The problem is that Melanie’s somehow ended up living with a vampire who watches university challenge and the flat is maybe haunted by a lovelorn ghost.

Very much here for Leverage as a stress-relieving watch! Following up on the tropes question: favorite dynamics WITHIN a found family trope?

OH yes absolutely!! when the grumpy one turns out to be the caretaking one! is this just bcos of watching leverage MAYBE SO but when elliot turns out to be the fiercely protective cook who wants everyone to enjoy his food? yes!

also, when ppl who didn’t like, like the same things, when they start spending time together with the family-ness of it all and share their hobbies with each other, and maybe they still don’t get it but watching each other enjoy a thing is just so fucking delightful to them that they do it anyway? and then maybe they pick it up by osmosis. like later someone asks a question relevant to one person’s hobby and the other person just casually answers.

also also. cuddling. big found family cuddle pile. it’s IMPORTANT.

annnnnnnnd when they try. when they try to sacrifice for each other’s happiness. when they try to like let go bcos they think the others will be better off without them. but that just makes the ppl they’re trying to let go of. love them HARDER. cling to them more....... i love that one? when someone has a chance to leave and they straight up do not want to? can u imagine having that... i’m so soft about this.........

LOVED the Alyssa Cole shoutout in your last episode. All of her books got passed around between the women in my cohort in graduate school. Also, since I know that he's a past headliner for TAK, I wanted to note that Alyssa Cole has mentioned that she headcanoned Taika Waititi as Tavish from A Duke By Default in an EW interview. After you both adapt (and possibly star in?) that Jason Mantzoukas romcom, I think this is next on the list!

You've been watching Leverage it said in your post about 196? I have a mostly-forgotten AU where Leverage is set in the TMA-'verse, and Nate is a Web avatar. (Not sure how to find it on my blog, but on AO3 I think it's the only Leverage/TMA crossover.)

leverage IS my comfort tv show fjdsklf i love it lots. and that sounds super cool!! i must admit i have not been reading much fic recently but when i get back into that i will for SURE check that out
