i'm talking about the fact that the nature of his devil fruit lets him break out of what's commonly expected from the Japanese animation style, how his rubber body lets him bring in the "squash and stretch" principle from cartoons in a way that makes sense to the story and it's just. too. damn. good.

in other words: Luffy is free in every sense of the word and I'm crying over it
