yeah fuck reagan thorne, ethan ramsey, sam dalton and bastien the holy creeps who make my skin crawl reddit fandom are always butt hurted when people criticize their precious male LIs who are so problematic yet they criticize pure female LIs that isnt gender customizable
👏👏that's right! Say it again for the ones in the back!👏👏 lol
But seriously, these are the same people who worship the ground of the problematic male LIs have but will tear apart the same traits in the female LIs. The female LIs aren't allowed to make mistakes, be bad or evil like their precious male LIs but then they say the female LIs are boring or creepy! It's just misogyny is what it is, and I won't stand for it!
Those that know that their favorite LI are problematic, I don't have a problem with, it's the ones that defend their problematic LIs with their dying breath saying that their LI isn't toxic and then in the same breath, criticizes the canon female LIs for whatever thinly veiled misogynistic reason, are the ones I can't stand...just say you hate women and gtfo!
It's refreshing to see that there's more people that agree with me, like you anon! I get bummed when I don't see a lot of a love for the female LIs and so much internalized homophobia and/or misogyny in the fandom. So thanks for the ask! ❤

hot take but fanon is better when it focuses on canon characteristics and keeps the core of a chaacter’s personality just placed in different situations or expands on little details that were just throwaway lines, not when it fundamentally changes everything about a character to fit a shittty ship

Hello, Ive been following your heretic lore avidly but I'm still very confused as to how Bastian is the anti-Christ and his relation to all the Hours, and how Christ in general fits in with the Hours - is Christ an Hour?
Bastian (and Emily) are still figuring out how Christ fits into all of this themselves! I can tell you what she knows; or at least, what she thinks she knows.
Christ was not an Hour. He was the same kind of entity as Bastian: the Blood of the Sun, which was shed during its calamitous Division under the jaws of the Emperor Wolf. He was the mortal aspect of a divine thing; and, being mortal, he died. Whether he died a failure or whether he submitted to death for some more mysterious purpose, Bastian doesn't know yet.
When Christ was the Blood of the Sun, he made an alliance with the Sun-In-Rags; the Metatron, as Bastian understands it, that remnant of the Sun that has been in hospice under the care of the Madrugad ever since the Division, whose voice (apparently) carries God's authority. Bastian knew of the Sun-In-Rags's voice as Hauteclair, the high clear sword that could break the chains of the Emperor Wolf, before he knew practically anything else: killing the Sun-In-Rags in order to claim Hauteclair was in Bellefleur's orientation packet, when she took on the role of John of the Baptist for this new incarnation of the Blood, and woke Bastian into his spiritual life.
Gradually, Bastian has come to understand that a number of the great powers of his world are bound together in the drama of the Division of the Sun; and gradually, he believes he's come to understand how. The Sun-In-Glory - the Sun before the Division - was, he suspects, Lucifer himself: splendid in his radiance, first intercessor to our universe, commander of the angels, prince of this world. The Glory is enigmatic, great but silent: the Sun was its Adam Kadmon, its active agent in the world, who spoke with God's authority and could be known by ordinary people, at least as a bringer of light.
And then the Emperor Wolf rose from the darkness and slew it. The Emperor Wolf, who was the embodiment of Lucifer's rebellion and pride.
And then the Histories turned over, and the Emperor Wolf did not slay the Sun: but it was divided into many parts -
The Sun-In-Rags, the voice of God;
Mother White, the hungry corpse, irrepressible in its vitality and strength;
The Pyre-Hawk, the Lightbringer's burning cloak of radiance;
The Rending, the hatred which fueled the crime;
and the Blood, that mortal essence: what is left of the Devil (or the Prince of the Angels) when everything divine is stripped away.
All of these powers (the Emperor Wolf included) do desire some form of reunification, but they don't want to be reunified in the same way: Mother White wants to consume the rest, the Rending wants to destroy them, the Emperor Wolf to rule over them, the Sun-in-Rags (perhaps) to be reconciled with them (so far as Bastian can tell - although learning that the Sun-in-Rags committed genocide against the entire order of angels set to watch over our world casts his gracious motivations somewhat into question), and the Pyre-Hawk to be ecstatically intermingled with them.
There is a certain balance of power between all of the above which has uneasily persisted since the War of Intercalation ended with the Rending's pacification and Mother White's bondage. The Blood is the disruptive force, whenever it emerges: and the Reunification of the Sun is, broadly, to be understood as the project of the Blood.
What that will look like, which forces will be ascendant and which will be cast down, and whether or not he succeeds, will be up to Bastian - this time.

Delta Air Lines has been caught pouring tens of millions of dollars into anti-unionization efforts, producing appalling flyers encouraging employees to buy video games instead of joining a union, and maintaining a culture of intimidation through emails, videos, meetings, and signs degrading those who support unions.
Delta's major shareholder meeting on June 15, 2023, provides CEO Ed Bastian, Chairman Frank Blake, Vanguard Group, BlackRock, Capital World Investors, and other shareholders with an opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to treating 50,000 workers with respect.
A shareholder resolution known as Proposal 6 requests that Delta Air Lines adopt a 'Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining Policy' to enable workers to advocate for safety, paid sick and family leave, and fair compensation.
Add your name to tell Delta shareholders to vote FOR Proposal 6.
Why is this important?
50,000 Delta Air Lines workers including ramp, cargo, and tower workers, attendants, and mechanics are being denied workplace representation that has been earned by pilots and dispatchers.
There is no way to explain this other than to say that wealthy executives and powerful shareholders do not trust or respect workers enough to provide a fair and equitable workplace for all employees.
The Association of Flight Attendants, International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, and International Brotherhood of Teamsters are offering support, but it’s so important to show that the airline customers nationwide also support Proposal 6, because the ultrawealthy pay attention when their reputation and bottom line are at stake.
Supporters of Proposal 6 firmly believe that all workers deserve dignity and safety. We are fighting hard for Proposal 6 because we know that it will help us advocate for better health and safety practices, provide pathways for professional development, and establish guardrails to ensure fair, equitable, and humane treatment for all workers.
The Proposal’s opponents claim that, “Delta has always respected its employees' choice, encouraged honest, transparent, and respectful dialogue among its people, and has not suggested stifling any group or point of view.”
It's simply unbelievable knowing that Delta has been caught pouring tens of millions of dollars into anti-unionization efforts, produced appalling flyers encouraging employees to buy video games instead of joining a union, and maintains a culture of intimidation through emails, videos, meetings, and signs degrading those who support unions.
Sign the petition to demand Delta to stop union-busting. Tell the shareholders you know to vote FOR Proposal 6 (Adoption of Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining Policy).

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love❤
AWW YOU AND @whumperofworlds both sent me this!!
Okay okay now I have to THINK. So this is in no particular order but here we go! Each piece has its TWs and a little snippet from it c:
1: BTHB 2023 - Near-Death Experience
TWs: car accident, near-death experience, panic attacks Time seemed to slow down as Bastian tried to scramble backwards, his own boots betraying him. He slipped after only a step or two, his feet disappearing out from beneath him as he fell towards the otherwise empty street. The van hit the curb with a bang and tipped, still hurtling towards Mariano roof-first. He hadn’t moved.
2: Mariano and Dimitri's Co-captives Arc (Here is part one)
TWs: Broken bones, kidnapping, torture, captivity “Mm.” Dimitri hummed, rolling his eyes. “I have to be if you’ve gotten so soft. Plus you’re bad at that, too, so I have to pick up the slack.”   Mariano frowned, looking at Dimitri. “You haven’t seen me beg for someone in years, you don’t know that. I’ve gotten way better at begging.” Dimitri rolled his eyes. “You’re the flattest person I’ve ever talked to. And I’ve known Izan for a long time.” He shot back.
3: War Mage Vignettes
TWs: stitches, alcohol, discussion of being shot in the head, near death experiences Dimitri shot a glare at their medic from his post at the doorway of their dim room. “We’re not going to die here.” He hissed. “I don’t care that this was a fucking trap. We don’t die.” Laredo nodded. “Remember? A war mage isn’t dead until there are two bullets in his brain.” Izan hummed. “I still think one is enough for that. I don’t think I’d want to fight after getting shot in the head, at all.” “I would.” Dimitri growled.
4: BTHB 2023 - Possession (Andrew and Tobias belong to @whumpr / @brinkofdiscovery!!
TWs: Possession “Hey, this isn’t funny.” Andrew said, forcing a nervous laugh anyway. “That wasn’t cool. C'mon.” This time, when Andrew tried to step into the room, William lunged for the door. He threw himself to the floor with a snarl before grabbing his own wrist and tugging it to his chest. “Don’t come in, please.” William’s voice broke as he whined and pressed his face into the filthy tile floor. “Don’t–it, it wants–” One hand wound into his own hair, tugging harsh enough to rip some out alongside a yelp. Elliot felt like he was suffocating. “Guys, I don’t think he’s joking.” Not even Andrew could’ve been committed enough to this bit to pull out hair, much less William. What did they even do now? William was the one who’d even brought anti-ghost shit.
5: A Month of Whump's March Trope-a-Thon Day 1 - Environmental / Snowstorm
TWs: hypothermia, non-sexual nudity Bastian growled to himself as he skidded down the rocks that Mariano had tumbled down. They hadn’t expected the path to give that far away from the edge, and Mariano hadn’t even had a chance to shout before he was swept away. “I swear to god, if he’s an icicle when I get there, I’ll let him freeze.” As the temperature kept dropping and the snow kept falling, though, Bastian had to accept that he was just complaining. He could feel the tug in his chest getting more urgent. The presence that Mariano’s magic held got weaker, sleepier. It curled up smaller and smaller, starting to flicker. When it began to fade, Bastian started running. He barrelled through snowy trees, crashed through brush, and finally, finally, it felt like he was getting close. Ripping through low hanging branches, Bastian’s heart just about stopped when he stumbled into a clearing. “Mariano!”

a tree grows in brooklyn (reread) - 5/5 cemented as one of my favorite books. reading it at 25 was very different from reading it at 18
lord of the flies - oof 5/5 v chilling
the neverending story - 2/5 the whole movie is in the first seven chapters and it just drags on from there and bastian was annoying
an absolutely remarkable thing - 3/5 interesting story that I wouldn’t usually read and it ended kinda ambiguously. the main character was a little annoying but it was good for the story
the curious incident of the dog in the night time - 2/5 kinda overrated in my opinion and was kinda a bummer overall
their eyes were watching god - 4/5 kinda a bummer too but v beautiful
walk two moons - 3/5 a little overly Solemn in my opinion
shadow of a bull - 2/5 a little boring and anti climatic
hooked - 5/5 sutton foster has been one of my favorite performers for years and I really enjoyed getting a closer look at her life
the women in the castle - 5/5 a very chewy read. not a book you can dismiss easily
the hearts of horses - 4/5 v unfortunately titled and covered, but v enjoyable slice of life read. actually related to the main character, and the horses were written realistically.
jack and jill - 3/5 very slice of life w Moral Lessons, and I didn’t really agree with the moral lesson
the boy who harnessed the wind -4/5 more memoir-y then I thought it would be but I liked it like that
wink: - 3/5 finished on 1/1/23 but I’m counting it. definitely worth the read but could’ve been better

the addams family - 5/5 enjoyed everything about this
the addams family values - 4/5 not as sharp as the first one but joan cusack is in it
nope - 5/5 sooo good. loved the concept of an animal like alien and everything was set up so well. does rely on the “don’t look a horse in the eye or it will go berserk” thing which is just. not true. (literally just be chill and the horse will be chill. it’s more about approaching them from the side than directly in front). but on the whole the horse portrayal was pretty good

The Neverending Story, Chapter 2 - Atreyu's Mission
(Curious what I'm doing here? Read this post! For the link index and a primer on The Neverending Story, read this one!)
In which I go on a rant or two about anti-Indigenous bias, conscious or otherwise.
Because(1) of their special importance, deliberations concerning the welfare of all Fantastica were held in the great throne room of the palace, which was situated only a few floors below the Magnolia Pavilion.
499 of the best doctors in all Fantastica have all examined the Childlike Empress, and are discussing their findings. The 500th enters, after spending several hours with her.
A tangent is made to describe how the many doctors are varied in species, and not all of them are "conducive to good health."
A second tangent is taken to describe how the Childlike Empress doesn't precisely rule Fantastica, but her existence is so critical to Fantastica's existence somehow(2) that every creature owes their existence to her, so her health is of concern to all.
Off of that tangent, Bastian takes one to think about when his mother died in hospital. How, afterward, even though he had every thing he could have asked for, his relationship with his father was never able to heal.(3)
We return back all the way up the tangent chain to the doctors, discussing how the Childlike Empress (henceforth CLE when I remember I can do that) shows no traditional symptoms. The 500th doctor, Cairon the centaur,(4) stills them to silence by his very presence. He wears an amulet everyone recognizes: a light and a dark snake twisted together into an oval, biting each other's tails. The A U R Y N,(5) the symbol of the CLE.
Bastian notes that this must be the same symbol as is on the front of the book.
Cairon reassures them that he's only wearing the Auryn until he can locate the intended bearer. The CLE's illness requires a hero and a Great Quest,(6) and the CLE herself has entrusted to Cairon the locating and bestowing of such. He says the hero's name is Atreyu, and says where Atreyu lives, and tells them that's "all there is to know" and leaves. The doctors have no idea who this Atreyu might be.
Bastian hears the great clock strike 10. He's surprised at how fast the time is passing(7) compared to when he's in class.
The people of the Grassy Ocean behind the Silver Mountains are known as Grass People or Greenskins, for their olive green skin. They have blue-black hair, often worn in long pigtails by men and women. Several more paragraphs are spent describing their lifestyle, and how news of the CLE's illness and the horrors happening elsewhere haven't reached them yet.(8)
Cairon arrives, exhausted from his journey, and tells them he needs them to retrieve Atreyu from the hunt. The people are reluctant, but an old woman recognizes Cairon, and a young girl volunteers to go find him. When she's gone, Cairon faints.
When he wakes, Atreyu has come, and he's just a boy. He complains that Cairon has interrupted his manhood ceremonial hunt and he can't be a man now for another whole year, and demands to know why. Cairon asks if there's another Atreyu, someone older, but Atreyu says no, he's the only one. Cairon says the CLE's choices are "hard to fathom" and if he'd known this would be a child's journey he'd have refused to find him.(9)
Cairon says Atreyu must choose whether to accept this quest now, but it is a true choice, and he's sure the CLE will find someone else if he rejects it. Atreyu asks what the mission is, and Cairon says, to find a cure for the CLE. Atreyu is shocked that she's sick, so Cairon explains, and they talk well into the night.
Finally, Atreyu accepts the Great Quest, and Cairon transfers Auryn to Atreyu's neck.
'A U R Y N gives you great power,' he said solemnly, 'but you must not make use of it. For the Childlike Empress herself never makes use of her power. A U R Y N will protect you and guide you, but whatever comes your way you must never interfere, because from this moment on your own opinion ceases to count. For that same reason you must go unarmed. You must let what happens happen. Everything must be equal in your eyes, good and evil, beautiful and ugly, foolish and wise, just as it is in the eyes of the Childlike Empress.(10) You may only search and inquire, never judge. Always remember that, Atreyu!'
Atreyu says he will be worth of Auryn, and Cairon tells him to say goodbye to his parents and begin immediately. Atreyu has no parents, they died when he was small, and the whole village raised him, which is why he was named the word for "Son of All".
Bastian reflects on how he can relate. Even though his father is still alive, he's so distant that it feels as though Bastian has no one raising him at all. He's glad to have this much in common with Atreyu, because otherwise they have nothing similar except being on Great Quests.(11)
Atreyu asks where to begin, but Cairon says from this point, no one can advise him until the Great Quest ends.(12) Atreyu bids Cairon farewell, and goes to mount his horse, Artax, and explain the Great Quest as best he can, since Artax is a sapient horse.(13) Then, they ride off into the darkness.
In another part of Fantastica, unnoticed by anyone, the darkness condenses, takes physical form, four legs with eyes of green fire and a "huge shaggy head." It sniffs the air, finds the scent it's looking for, growls, and takes off after its prey.
Bastian pretends to be Atreyu on a gym horse(14) until he realizes he's being childish and someone could hear him. He almost starts eating his packed sandwich lunch, but decides to save his food, as he's not sure how long it will have to last.
=====
(1) The B illumination is someone, I think Atreyu, and the centaur. (2) Since she's fallen ill at the same time that Fantastica is disappearing to nothing/Nothing, it only makes sense the two are related in such a fantastical world. (Subtlety is for cowards, give me the tell with the show.) (3) At the risk of overexplaining, I think the implication here is that Bastian's mother was as essential to his and his father's ability to exist as the Childlike Empress is to Fantastica, and the loss of her changed them both. Though, I think the fact that Fantastica is disappearing into nothing, while Bastian still has a chance with his father, is the unspoken hope. (4) You may recognize "Chiron" more readily. Centaur son of Cronus, and the greatest healer of all time (exaggeration), among other things. (5) Yes, that's how it's stylized in my book. No, I will not type it like that again outside of direct quotes. (6) Would it even be a children's fantasy book without a quest? (7) The side effect of this sort of commentary deep read is that I have to take my time, which is how it's been 5 pages and with distractions and lethargy from the heat, I've been at this almost an hour. So, time is not going fast for me at all. In fact, in a great divine irony, I have so little in common with Bastian that I find it difficult to relate to or feel eager to keep reading his part of the story in anything but an academic sense. (8) I knew this was going to deal poorly with some issues, it's inevitable in a book so old, but this is sure feeling pointedly like bad stereotyping of Indigenous people, especially after the smoke signals bit in the intro. Many Indigenous people have what humans have termed olive toned skin, but making them "olive green" feels more like trying to reverse the old and racist way of calling us "red", possibly (in the way authors still do) to try and dodge accusations of racism. I know some of that is just me being cynical, but unfortunately it's something I have to try and get out of my system here so I don't keep harping on it in my commentary for the rest of Atreyu's appearances in the book. (9) There's something so paternalistic about this in context of (8). Oh no, we couldn't possibly rely on such a [slur here] child to save the world. (And again, I know that's probably not really how it's intended, nor how most people would read it, but I can't help but see what I see through my experiences.) (10) I'm saying this as an adult with my own baggage on the subject, but this seems like a really junk form of government, just so we're all clear. (Not acting is allowing the status quo to continue, with all its injustices. I'm not a fan.) But, I can remember it feeling so idealistic as a child who didn't know better. (11) What does Bastian think his Great Quest is? Running away from home to hide his thievery? (12) Again, this feels like bad advice to suggest that children might want to follow ever. (13) The word's not used in the text, but it's a pet peeve of mine when people call intelligent conversational creatures "sentient" because the way I learned it, that just means has senses. Most, perhaps all animals are sentient. Sapient is the word for thinking, like homo sapiens. (I am also fully aware that common usage is what defines a word, not a dictionary, which is meant to reflect common usage and not define it, and my argument is petty. That's also why "and I" is becoming acceptable grammar in all instances even when "me and" would be the grammatically correct sentence fragment if you removed the other person/people from the situation, which is how we used to be taught to tell the difference. Something something my hypothetical lawn.) (14) At first I got confused, and had to flip back to the introduction. Indeed, he remarks on gymnasium equipment and then horse, separate from the stuffed animals, so it must be the gymnastics routine sort.

Hate this book but I miss Morgan, so I made this to keep myself from reading WB and getting mad again. Scrapped the 1st edit with their primal forms because they just looked goofy af

Thank you for clarification on Bellefluer! Do you mind if I ask why the Sun In Rags has to die for her and Bastian’s goals? It looks like they need his sword, but why is that important?
so I have to be a little vague here, and potentially even a little misleading, because I can only share on my blog what Emily already knows, and Bellefleur hasn't told Bastian everything. What Bastian understands is this:
In the Anthelion History (they go Antelucan > Anthelion > Pridian > Metempiric; so, two histories ago), the Glory had a visible, embodied projection which hung above the world from which the Glory had receded in the wake of creation/illumination: the Adam Kadmon of the Glory, if you like. This was simply called the Sun, or the Sun-In-Glory. The Anthelion History ended when the Emperor Wolf spoke some terrible word which rendered the Sun-In-Glory vulnerable, and devoured it.
In the Pridian (& subsequently the Metempiric) History, the Wolf-Word did not leave the Sun-In-Glory paralyzed, and the Emperor Wolf did not devour it. Instead, the Wolf-Word divided the Sun (making this the Second Division; the first being when the Glory divided light from darkness, ending the Antelucan History. Every History ends with a division). Half of the Sun fell upon the Wood, and the Emperor Wolf devoured that part of it, but so great was the effort of doing so that some coalition among the Hours managed to chain him at the shore of Candle Lake. How this was done, which Hours participated in his capture, and what debts were extracted from them in the process, Emily has no idea.
In any event, the other half of the Sun fell upon Mundus, where the Emperor Wolf couldn't reach it. One of the properties of the Pridian & Metempiric Histories is that the things of the Wood remain in the Wood, and cannot venture far beyond it. (This is specifically what Bellefleur is rebelling against: by being trapped in the Wood, the feyken things that reside there are no longer able to proceed towards the Glory. It's also why she needed to marry Bastian in order to pass permanently into Mundus. Faerie things need mortal names in order to persist in our world.)
This half of the Sun - now called the Sun-In-Rags - is dying. The Division it suffered was ruinous. But it was taken to Fort Baldomera - the first place there ever was, on a hilltop beyond death - where it is being cared for by the Madrugad, the First Hour, who is the Hour of death & healing. Whether the Madrugad cares for the Sun-In-Rags because she genuinely wishes him well, or because she is keeping it alive until the Emperor Wolf can somehow reach him, Emily doesn't know. She does know that the chains which bind the Emperor Wolf can only be broken by the will of the Sun-In-Rags.
Bellefleur means for Bastian to pass through and beyond death to reach Fort Baldomera, where he can slay the dying Sun-In-Rags and seize its will for his own use. He doesn't 'need the Sun-In-Rags's sword:' the Sun-In-Rags is the sword. Hauteclair: high and clear. The sword that can break the Emperor Wolf's chains.
Why break the chains of the Emperor Wolf?
Bastian hasn't gotten into this with Bellefleur the way he maybe should: or maybe Bellefleur has chosen not to be entirely forthcoming yet. But - Bastian understands the Emperor Wolf to be a Luciferian figure, a rebel against God, chained beside a lake of fire, tormented by a Sun/Son of the Glory who remains beyond his reach. So - what happens if you deliver, as it were, the soul of Christ unto the Devil? Surely, a great liberation would be possible. Surely then the world could be remade.
And the agent of that liberation, who wears a starry crown and wields the will of the slain Sun as a sword? What honors might be due to to that anti-christ?
Bastian imagines that he can set his terms.

in everybody's scramble to "what if salem witches real?," they kind of buried that the spark that ignated that very real mass murder campaign was anti black racism and it continued to burn through the town after that due to colonial greed. imagine if every pulpy true crime cash-in was actually about how the victims deserved it because they were unloved by god. think of how the conjuring franchise and similar mainstream horror launders christianity as the only bastian of good and light in the face of supernatural evil. powerful secret communities of devil worshipers never truly existed... it was a paranoid and racist fantasy of the dominant culture. just think about it, ig.

KulturArena: Gerhard Polt, die Well-Brüder und Die Toten Hosen „Forever“
Tumblr media

Ch.5 Murder-Cubes Reign Ends
The infamous fighter rolled onto the ring taunting his appendages the Shark Dragon jumped on it crushing its box-like exterior however the knives went into her power armor causing the anti-gravity property to shut off. Though still provided metal armor in the traditional sense. after this scene the lower demons who lived there fled ruin and only the defensive units remained.  Hanuman drew his sacred blade vaporizing an Ancient Gollem made from gold ore.... leaving a puddle of Golden Dew.

Crab guy sustained Serious injury trying to wrestle the ancient Golems in his new exoskeleton. The Dragon Shark loaded plasma Bolt and shot it right into the sword Pyre symbolically shattering their rule over the land and causing a landslide type of effect with the rocks. Then out of nowhere Mantis Man appeared! He had long black flowing assassin robes with a face mask to match, then two Katanas or scimitars one in each hand. he let out a mantis-like hiss, jumping while swinging his swords in a frenzy. The troop was taken aback by their once ally turned Rogue why mantis man why? "I'm in it for the money and I just like killing people." "The Rich people of pyre liked my style cause I am scary and they appreciate how scary I am. Bastion always wanted me to be peaceful so they could use me!"the nature of your lack of loyalty to Bastian disgusts me let's settle this in the ring. said the Shark Dragon "let's settle this  with Prakash Circle Fighting" as she motioned taunting the demons.
The coward thought it would be fun to launch a surprise Shuriken strike right out the bat, thankfully I rolled beneath it kicking the bug in the leg. He rolled out of it and leaned on his other leg katanas slashing but I knocked them out of his hands with the Empty Palms Spites The Wicked technique. Our freedom-fighting compatriot Bat Man acquired the fallen weapons for me which was cool. Thank you Bat man for risking your own life for me. "Who knows the treachery the Pyre would have spread across the land if beings like Mantis Man were allowed to run free?!"

Oof yeah Lucia in her homes games is not great. She's not awful but everyone else in her class is better then her. RD is especially weird becuase she is more magically inclined then the other Trueblades but has no magic sword to take advantage of it. All she can do is use Imbue and there are others who can use it better I believe.
Bastian aint as good as i remember him being but that mightve just have been my anti-soren bias flaring up.
Geoffrey however is only ever hampered by his low availability, otherwise he is a solid unit
