demo is rowlf the dog because you can't tell me that rowlf wouldn't be the ultimate drinking buddy, also the fact that they both play piano is just too perfect, this was one of my two immediate thoughts when i first saw this ask. other one was rizzo scout obviously

PYRO IS BEAKER. pyro is beaker. i don't need to explain this one

on that same thought track of pyro as beaker, engie is dr. bunsen honeydew, the concept of pyro being his lab buddy is something i've always loved and this plays directly into that concept. also honeydew would 100% do something like removing his own arm to give himself a mechanical prosthetic. they're both madlads is what i'm saying

i originally thought of sam eagle when considering soldier because america but no, aside from the america thing he's nothing like soldier. soldier is animal. what are you gonna do about it

look i dunno how to articulate how well sniper matches up with gonzo. they both dress like weird uncles, they're both lanky motherfuckers, they're both widely accepted by the transmasc community as "goals," they're just. you cannot fight me on this because i am not listening

i originally thought spy might be hard to place but then i remembered pepe the king prawn and i was like oh this is easy. scheming little bitch with a propensity for making innuendos. the only thing that doesn't match up here is that pepe has a really casual style of dress but if you put him in a suit then he's literally spy

oh shit i'm already at the last merc. uhm. man i'm honestly having trouble placing heavy, i think...just based on vibes alone i'd probably go with fozzie bear for him, he was my first thought because Obvious Bear Joke but then i thought more about it and i was like. yknow. fozzie's struggles to write jokes and just communicate in general kinda connects well with heavy's struggles to communicate in english as opposed to his native tongue of russian, like i feel like they're both guys who'd be understood a lot better if they just knew the right way to say something if that makes sense? i'm looking too deep into this though i'm sure most people will just be satisfied that i'm fulfilling the Obvious Bear Joke requirement lol

okay last one. i was originally frustrated that i couldn't pin anybody down as being kermit but then i had the brain blast that miss pauling would absolutely be kermit. they both serve the role of kinda being like the straight-man mediator that's also willing to participate in the shenanigans from time to time, like go listen to miss pauling's contract voice lines and tell me she doesn't fit that description

anyway thank you for this ask!! i haven't had this much of an urge to write about the funny teufort people in a hot minute so this was nice heehee

thoughts and feelings on Neomuna and the Cloudstriders?

it's been a minute since i ran lightfall so i went back through ishtar to read up and here's what i've got: I think they mirror the guardians in a really interesting way. While being granted the light is functionally random and not something the lightbearer in question has a say in (as they're usually dead), becoming a cloudstrider is an entirely voluntary process (with perhaps the exception of the first cloudstrider, who acquired her abilities accidentally). There's also mentions of cloustriders being vetted, meaning that the decision to become a cloudstrider is not purely up to the individual but rather the community, which is interesting when placed in contrast to how ghosts just kind of.. pick a corpse based on vibes and hope things turn out ok. Also the whole "ten years and then your body rapidly decays around you" thing versus being able to die ad infinitum (assuming nothing happens to your ghost). Also cloudstriders on their own are fascinating too. Deliberately sacrificing not only your life but, to an extent, your ability to be and act like a person is wild. From the Cloud Strider Legacies lorebook:

"You don't die after ten years. You die the second you gulp your first breath with those new nanite-enhanced lungs. You don't get to be human anymore. Not with this kind of power. You don't get foibles or fears or wants. You're an ideal.

You need to be the best things about this city—the kindness, the empathy, the courage—and you give up the luxury of weakness."

(also not to get back on the comparison train but the whole thing about becoming a cloudstrider being a death in and of itself versus resurrection being the first memory a guardian has.) Also I like Nimbus, and I hope we'll be able to give them cookies next dawning.

izuku is oboro's reincarnation au, complete with the same or similar quirk.

Well I'm sorry to say but there is a bit of a problem with the idea. Izuku and Oboro were alive at the same time so Izuku wouldn't be able to be Oboro's reincarnation. Not unless he was born WAY later.

However I do have an au where Izuku has a quirk that is close to/the same as Oboro's because Izuku is Oboro is Izuku's uncle.

Nimbus wasn't about to treat the little shit as gently as he would someone else. No, this one gave the vibe he liked things a little on the rougher side. Maybe he had a little bit of a grudge against his double's height, and maybe he wanted to test his little theory by driving the other wild enough that he'd take control. Knock his hands away and start fucking his throat like he means it.

Dude looked like he needed an outlet anyway, and Nim was willing to oblidge him.

His head bobbed relentlessly, only pulling back enough to toy with the head and get some air before diving back into his brutal pace. After a few rounds of this, the shorter pulls off enough to speak, a smug smile on his bruised and pink lips.

"C'mon, that all you got? Where'd all that attitude go? Did your cool guy persona crumble off just a blowjob?"

Of course, he was just poking at the fox to get a reaction, hands stroking and twisting, thumb toying with the slit in the head.

"I know you can do better than that."

With that, he takes the other to the hilt easily, and with enough force to push his hips back against the wall he was leaned against. He was gonna get his double to lose it, one way or another.

10 - what inspired this character’s creation?

so. this character was expressly created for the purposes of a oneshot, i believe! my darling husband told me that he was going to exandria-unlimited my ass and i said okay! and made a fucked up little guy. for sources of inspiration, i very much wanted to play a bard and a good speaker, and i was very, very excited about my upcoming enrollment in philosophy classes and my love of The Good Place. i ended up created a character with a love for philosophy and a genuine passion for life, and he took shape as an insane person with a penchant for lightning.

28 - do they collect anything?

i think Dr. Nimbus collects a few things. first and foremost, he collects, if his students would let him, the final exams of the students that had shown the most improvement and blown him away in his philosophy classes. those final essays are most likely very well catalogued in his Sanctum and home. i think the second thing that he collects is historical books and the like, because as a professor and as a history/philosophy double major in undergrad, he amassed quite a collection of texts and treatises that he's still quite proud of. the third thing is crab crackers (those little things that you can use to get the carapace off a crab to eat the meat? is that what those are called?) from any seafood restaurant he goes to. he believes wholeheartedly that there is no reason not to do it and will not be swayed.

56 - who would they trust with their life, unequivocally?

i think that dr nimbus trusts most people with his life because he is willing to take a chance at all times. he's pretty much always trying to experience more of the world, and learning who he can and cannot trust is just as exciting for him as finding a new spell or creating a new drink. the only people he usually won't trust are those who are actively attempting to kill him. even then, he might be cool about it
