This may sound deranged but I think its good for people to disassemble an animal at least once or twice in their life that isn't like soaked in formaldehyde in a high school lab. Like I've had to butcher deer and rabbits and squirrels and chickens and it really gives you a better sense of anatomy and how organs and muscles and bones all fit together and also gives you a better respect for the source of your meat. The not being soaked in formaldehyde part is important too cus it's way different dissecting a sterilized (cold, wet, bloodless) animal from a bag vs butchering an actual relatively fresh animal.

Tommy looks sad: "It might be time to...to let go, Darnold. Between right here and in there...maybe...she'll be safer...here..." Darnold's eyes widen in realisation of what Tommy is asking him to do, and he looks down at Sasha, the Gubb climbing her way up clumsily to rest on his shoulder where she begins to chatter contentedly. She had gotten quite comfortable in his presence over the time they'd spent together. Darnold turns away, teeth gritted and sorrowful eyes hidden behind the light reflected in his lab goggle. Benrey, who's leaning on the opposite wall with arms folded, glances momentarily at Darnold with an unreadable expression before looking down.

Gordon's concerned: "You good there, Darnold? You, uh-" "I- I need a minute," Darnold stammers, cutting him off. "I'll be right back..." He starts down the hall back the way they came, and the Science Team looks on sadly. "You think he's gonna be alright walking off by himself like that?" Gordon asks Tommy. Behind them, Dr Coomer places a hand over his heart and the other on Bubby's shoulder and solemnly says: "Oh, I miss him every day."

Gordon turns around immediately: "No...no," he sighs, "Dr Coomer, he's not dead. Just because someone walks out of your line of vision doesn't mean they die. Object permanence, man." Dr Coomer simply keeps his overly woeful expression. Even Bubby looks at Coomer in mild confusion. "Mr Freeman?" a voice calls from next to Gordon. "Mr- Mr Freeman?" Gordon turns around to address Tommy, tiredly: "Huh, wuh, yeah? Yes?" Tommy averts his eyes, very carefully piecing his next words together: "...Mr Freeman, Darnold...he has a very hard decision to make, Mr Freeman. A-and sometimes...that means being- needing to be alone...like making the decision to..."

Tommy pauses, thinking, then resumes: "...to put it lightly, the decision to say goodbye to a pet." Gordon stares at him, struck speechless for a moment. "Tommy, that might be your darkest analogy yet. What is UP with you guys and having death on the brain?" "Oh, I'm okay now," Darnold says as he walks past, startling Gordon who hadn't noticed his return. Darnold's expression is hidden. "We may proceed," Darnold says, pressing ahead. Gordon sputters: "Oh, uh, yeah! Okay!" "Welcome back, Dr Darnold!" Dr Coomer says jovially. The team begin their walk to the Xen Portal. /End ID.]

The Will Wood concert in Houston was very fun!! Very very enjoyable but!! Some Will Wood fans need to learn some serious concert etiquette, for example

DONT GIVE A STRANGER DEAD ANIMALS

Someone in the front of crowd held up a wet specimen of a rat and shouted DO YOU WANT A DEAD RAT??

Will just stood there in silence for a few seconds before trying to laugh it off saying “you guys are like the kind of people who get off to making vegans uncomfortable huh.” He was about to perform his new song too about befriending a rodent in his home and he ended up not performing that one. This is a man who is known to like rats why would anyone think that is acceptable?

I’m not Will Wood obviously so I don’t know how bothered he was by it or if he was able to shake it off just fine or what but regardless that kind of behavior should not happen in the first place. I’m horrified that this kind of behavior seems to be occurring more and more often in music events like this.

#also I can’t confirm this part but someone who was there at the concert on Twitter said #the person said the dead rat’s name was Mr Boy #which is also the name of Will’s pet rat #in a similar vein #I’m not a mitski fan but I’ve heard of the ways ppl are treating them too #not that I hate mitski I like a few songs just not a fan ya know what I mean #but anyway this was about will wood and I’m still just in shock #but based on what I’ve seen on Twitter a lot of ppl who were there are too #a lot of ppl were also being loud and interrupting him during quiet moments #when I talked to Will afterwards he said he did overall have a good time at the Houston performance so that’s good at least #apparently his Austin show was worse he said the crowd just responded poorly to his darker jokes #that was so unfortunate to hear I really hope this kind of stuff doesn’t discourage him from performing live too much #anyway #animal death ment #will wood and the tapeworms

Moon brings you a live fish as a courting gift and you throw it back since it’s a living fish, but whenever Sun brings you shinies or other things that you aren’t intended to kill and eat you accept them and go on about how you like them so Moon thinks that you just like Sun more than him, until he finds a shiny that Sun didn’t beat him to and gives it to you.

His face just lights up as he realizes that it wasn’t him, you just like shinies. Though he’d probably be kind of confused as to why you’re throwing back perfectly good food for a while.

Hghfhghg, the gift-giving transcends all AUs. If Moon is into you, he must give you presents. It's the only real way he knows how to show his affection.

(But also this reminds me of the scene in LOTR where Smeagol sees Sam cooking a rabbit and he just: "NO. YOU'RE RUINING IT." and that's what I imagine Mer-Moon would do if he saw you cooking the fish he brought you. You're supposed to eat it raw--that's where the nutrients are!!! I tried participating in Wet Beast Wednesday and looking up pictures of wet rats. But I got a lot of pictures of dead rats. Like, why do you think I want to see that. Because I don’t. It disgusts me. Those are my community. My creatures. So I stopped looking for a good picture. Where do you all find your pictures? Good pictures. Because I don’t want to see Google’s rat pictures.

i think its rather ironic that the average person gets really scandalized at the thought of animal testing research as a concept itself but can stomach most cases of blatant animal inbreeding, neglect, irresponsible handling and abuse and even sort of joke about it , do you love and care about animal´s wellbeing when you coo at videos of large felines trafficked to some rich person´s living room? do you turn the other way when you let dogs and cats roam the streets flea and parasite ridden and not neutered and killing off wildlife , when you feed random raccoons and squirrels and birds food and make them dependent on you and inevitably more prone to not escape from danger, what do you do?
